The hotel car driver who took us to the gate to start our Vaishno Devi journey, stopped at a store and said that we should buy some items for Mata Rani. The store owner then conned us to buy silver items and other gifts for Devi that was unnecessary. It was a 100 dollars, but the driver should not have led us to make totally unnecessary expense. He probably got a cut. There is no other explanation for such a behavior.

We have booked room as we visited mata Vaishno Devi for darshan We reached at night 12.30 and moved out for darshan at 1.30 in night and returned next day 2 pm in noon and requested hotel management for 3 hours rest but they refused and asked for immediate check out I think I wasted my 3800 for just getting ready in room and keeping my luggage for night only

Reviewed Feb 14, 2025Great stay in Katra to visit Vaishno Devi temple. The hotel facilities were excellent and the staff quite informative. The restaurant has a good breakfast and there are loads of good eating places close by. They drop you off at the starting point(s) for Vaishno Devi temple and pick you up as well (although I chose not to wait and rented my own auto).
The station is not as close as some of the other facilities so one needs to plan your departure and get a vehicle in advance - not a major issue really.

Reviewed Jan 18, 2025Rooms were not properly clean, heating system was not working properly, room service was terrible. But the service provided at front desk by receptionist and supporting staff that was amazing. Good variety of food and good service in kitchen too.
Heating and wi fi was not working upon contacting many times over the phone for room service to fix it nobody showed up to do it finally I had to go down at front seat to complain.

The manager at the hotel initially refused to give the room stating that our booking has been cancelled. However, the booking was very much active on Booking.com. He said that we should have provided them credit card details. How can we share the credit card info when the website says no advance payment required.

The facilities were very basic compared to the pricing. The fellow occupants were super noisy and disturbing. Despite multiple reminders they didn't stop talking or laughing loudly with their room door open and were smoking inside the room at midnight. The hotel staff didn't pay much attention to the fact that they are making the stay uncomfortable for other occupants
