Amazing one of the best stays I’ve had. The staff was so kind and welcoming and left a lasting impression. Highly recommend that anyone interested you won’t regret it!

Could be a common area to relax or additional seating to enjoy the view but other than that everything was great

Wonderful view

Incredible views, delicious food, and helpful staff. Beautiful shared onsen, but the shower and bath in the room was also terrific. A staff member was up front as soon as we arrived to valet our car and check in was seamless. The grounds are well-maintained and the location was a bit remote, so it offered quiet and tranquility. A great place for adults.

I wish it had a cold plunge, but that’s just a personal preference

The intricacy and quality of the food(breakfast and dinner) is outstanding(no where else we stayed is at this level)!!! The river view is serene. We also enjoyed the outdoor onsen where we can breathe fresh air, and one night I even spotted a pair of deer roaming round the river bank. We experienced the top traditional Japanese hospitality by their extremely friendly staff and the facility provided is so thoughtful in every aspect.

From the moment we were picked up at the train station till we were delivered back there all the staff were so attentive and went out of there way to help us. The food was worthy of any michelen star restaurant any where. The rooms were spacious and spotless. The onsen were very well appointed and there was even 2 private onsen to choose from. The location was excellent, by the river with beautiful views of the mountains, it was just out of town but this did not factor due to the availability of frequent shuttles.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike or dampen our experience here.

Everything about Ginka is perfect. From the pick up at Kinosakionsen, seeing the location of the hotel on the other side of the river, to the warm welcome. The location is just perfect and the accommodation is just so nice. We booked to go into Kinosaki after dinner but having seen our room immediately cancelled to spend the evening at the hotel. We had a 1st floor room with Japanese sleeping (they make up the futons during dinner), which were very comfortable. Sitting in the room looking out over the river at sunset, drink in hand and watching the fish jump was sublime. Then we went for dinner. They described it as a dinner ceremony and it was. Delicious food served with such grace. Breakfast was an equally good experience. And lying in the cedar bath before breakfast looking out over the river was also a delight. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful, and unlike some other hotels the photos and description exactly matches what we had We had stayed in Tokyo before coming to Ginka and the whole journey was wonderful, the train from Kyoto to Kinsosaki so comfortable and scenic - it was great to see so much of the Japanese countryside

Absolutely nothing

Outstanding ryokan with exceptional service and delicious food. Both breakfast and dinner were beautifully prepared and were among the highlights of our stay. What truly set this ryokan apart was the staff. The level of hospitality was incredible from start to finish. The shuttle service into town was extremely convenient, and the team even accommodated our very early morning departure despite it being outside of the normal shuttle operating hours. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble. I would also like to give special thanks to one staff member whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch. She was absolutely wonderful throughout our stay. She had prepared a small notebook with handwritten notes in English to guide us through each course of our meal, which was such a thoughtful and personal touch. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and polite, and her warmth made the experience even more memorable. We felt genuinely cared for throughout our stay and would not hesitate to return.

We stayed there for two nights. The location is ideal for anyone seeking tranquility away from crowds. They offer a shuttle to Kinokasi Onsen, making transportation convenient. The environment is peaceful, and the meals are excellent.

Very relaxing stay. Both dinner and breakfast was an amazing experience and the staff went above and beyond.

Beautiful and quiet. Very nice staff, nice onsens and amazing view and room setup and staff was incredibly nice and welcoming.

Food options, they really have a great dining experience if you ok with seafood. We dont like seafood and went with the beef option, which only had a little beef and mostly seafood with many coarse. They did not include a town onsen pass, was not even able to use yakuta and such for a couple hours after check out as it was raining the day we arrived and went to do the town bathhouses and ropeway the next day.

This was an incredible value for the price. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind, even helping my wife with her Yukata bow. The included dinner and breakfast was a set menu of some of the freshest crab, delicious fish, wonderful Miso Soup, and the Shabu-Shanu Wagyu hotpot was Devine. The private onsen’s were spotless, and it was easy to reserve a time slot. Me and my wife were not expecting this level of pampering on our honeymoon - and frankly I cannot find a single flaw in our stay. This is admittedly a bit out of the way, but taking a 2.5 hour train into Kinosaki Onsen, using the coin lockers across the station, and wondering through the wonderful town while we wait for a shuttle couldn’t have been a better way to start us off. If you’re looking for a couples getaway into a picturesque part of the world - come to Kinosaki Onsen. If you want to elevate your stay and fine a new definition of heaven, book with Ginka.

Slightly out of the way - but easily accessible via the Kounotori line from Osaka and Kyoto

城崎温泉街からバスで10分ほど離れた丸山川沿いにあり、喧騒を離れたとても静かな場所が先ずはとてもいいですね。食事は朝夕食ともに地元の肉や魚、蟹料理など大変贅沢な品々が並びます。大浴場、とりわけ露天風呂につかりながら静かな山並みの景色や丸山川を、朝に夕に夜に眺めるのは、とても気持ちがいいものです。従業員の方々はとても親切で対応もよく、快適に過ごすことができました。有り難うございました。

食事がとても素晴らしいのはいいのですが、私たち60代の夫婦には、とても食べきれない量です。但馬牛の夕食もそうですが、朝食からtoo much感がもの凄く､食事の量を加減できると有り難いです。また洗面台の鏡が縦横ともに、とても小さいのはどうかと思います。私は身長171cmですが、鏡の中の顔を見るためにはかがまなくてはならないのは腰を痛めかねません。洗面台の鏡は壁一面くらいは欲しいですね。

The location was a bit far from the station but they offer a pickup service from and to the station at a regular time. Both my breakfast and dinner food were amazing. Ginka also had a private onsen which you can book by informing the front desk staff. The staff understands english quite well too. Overall an amazing experience

The staff were all great especially our dinner host!

We LOVED our stay at Ginka! Everything was flawless-from the shuttle pick-up, the check in, the rooms with the most sublime view, the pajamas, the in-room beverages (you can grind your own coffee beans!), all the little thoughtful touches (the crane at night on our pillow), the futon beds were the comfiest we had in Japan! Don't miss eating on site-the food was so beautifully presented and our server was so kind with our limited Japanese. Even the gift shop was great! They also have vending machines with lots of free drinks and also one you can pay for. We hope to go back one day. Thank you to the kind staff for always making us feel so welcome.

The staff was extremely friendly and caring, really paying attention to all the details. We loved the wonderful service, shuttle bus and the kaiseki dinner/breakfast. The amenities with free drinks, ice cream and snacks were also amazing!

Honestly there was nothing we did not like.

Ein sehr schöner ruhiger Ort mit zuvorkommenden freundlichen Menschen. Das Essen (wir hatten nur Frühstück), war wunderbar und wurde uns liebevoll serviert.

何よりも料理の量の多さ！ 非常に美味しかったのと宿泊組数を限らせてるからこそのお風呂の快適さが良かったです。

悪い点はほとんどないのですが、料理は非常に満足してるが貸切風呂との連携が取れてないため、貸切風呂をしてる方はコースに3時間ほど料理かかることを踏まえて予約した方が良いです。 あと部屋で夕食を食べれると絶景がより活かされるのかと思いました。

部屋の設備や軽食の用意など周りに他の施設がない分、当施設だけで充実した時間を過ごせるよう工夫がされていてよかった。

チェックイン時に朝食・夕食の希望時間を聞かれたのですが、夕食に関しては予約が埋まってきているとのことで選べる枠が少なかった。チェックイン順で選べるようにしているのかは分からないですが、できれば予約した時点でホテル側から希望時間の聞き取りがあれば良かった。また、駅前から運行しているシャトルバスは11:00-14:00間の便がなく、14:00からチェックインが可能としているにも関わらず、午後便で最も早い時間が14:15のため電車利用の場合タクシー以外で14:00に当施設に到着することはできなかったり、その間に城崎に到着する旅程だとシャトルバスを利用して宿泊施設に一旦荷物を置いてから温泉街に戻ることができなかったりと不便さを感じました。温泉街から少し離れた場所に位置していることからその点について利便性を上げていただけるとありがたい。

A beautiful ryokan experience. View from the room was amazing. Ryokan onsen was beautiful and private onsen was perfect for me as I have tattoos and could not use the public onsen. The staff here are so friendly and look after you really well. Only wished we had stayed an extra night!

良くないと言うよりは、エレベーターがなかったので、母には階段がつらくスタッフの方にご迷惑かけました。車椅子は館内にも準備されてるとお聞きしていたので、長い階段には昇降機があれば気兼ねなく過ごせると思いました。 事前にこちらも想定すべきだったと反省。

Lindo o lugar e os funcionários foram ótimos. O jantar que tem no hotel e caro, porém muito bem servido vale a experiência.

O café da manhã não foi tão bom quanto esperávamos, a banheira tinha alguns sinais de mofo. Não tinha uma cama por ser um hotel tradicional japonês, mas os colchões no chão foram uma experiência legal.

Property is located 10‘ drive off from kinosaki. It felt really calm and relaxing. You can easily calm down and really recharge your battery. Ryokan is well maintained and looks beautiful

The building and our room were lovely. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Every room has a beautiful view of the Maruyamagawa River. You could spend the whole day lounging in the ryokan and soaking in your rooms tub gazing at the river and it would be enough! Our kaiseki dinner AND breakfast were of course also delicious. We got the best sleep of our entire Japan trip at the ryokan, with very comfortable futons. I loved taking a soak and getting a yakult or ice cream after!

It requires a little extra planning around shuttle trips to/from the nearby Kinosaki main strip, but the hotel runs the shuttle very frequently and they were always on time. Try to incorporate an extra 15-30 minutes on either end of your transportation and just remember that the onsen experience should be relaxing. Don’t plan too many “excursions” like going to Genbudo or Takeno unless you have lots of time (like staying 3+ days) and try to just explore Kinosaki/hang out! There are plenty of boutiques, cafes, etc to enjoy in the city.

Everything was good! Highly recommend especially if you want traditional (modern) Japanese experience.

The location is nice, but it’s not in the old city itself, but there is the transfer to the center, almost every hour, so it’s not that bad at all. You can reach the city center in 10 min.

The hotel and rooms are wonderful! So peaceful. I used the onsens downstairs for women and it was very relaxing. The shuttle service into town was easy to navigate and on time. The bath in the room was also a plus. I liked the coffee + free ice cream and beer in the fridge as well!

We paid for the very pricey dinner (most expensive meal of our trip). It was the worst food we had all trip :(. We really wanted to love it but the food was just not good. Our server forgot our drinks for more than half of our meal. There was no dish I would really recommend although the crab was good. We also got breakfast both days and it was somewhat expensive compared to the alternatives and not very good. Save yourself the money and eat in town there are many good options!
