נפלנו על גל חום בחדר בקומת הגג.. אז גם מאוורר לא עזר - עניין של מזל. אז יצאנו לבלות בקולנוע ממוזג ומקסים. יש הרבה מדרגות צרות לעלות מזוודות ולעלות בכלל כשעייפים מטיולי הליכה. אז קחו בחשבון.

1st time of staying here, a lovely clean house, breakfast was amazing! We will definitely be returning.

The breakfast felt just like having breakfast at home, with the host asking what I would like and preparing it for me. The location was excellent, just a five-minute walk from the bus station. I really enjoyed my stay and appreciated the warm, homely atmosphere.

I honestly loved everything about my stay — the cleanliness, the peaceful atmosphere, the excellent location, and the warm, family-like hospitality. I couldn’t find anything I didn’t like.

We took a bus to Ambleside from the Windermere train station. It took us straight to Elder Grove as the bus stop was just a very short distance away. The room was lovely. Despite being very busy as we discovered at breakfast the next morning, the place was quiet and we had lots of privacy. There is a sitting room near the entrance, and when we first arrived we visited briefly with two gentlemen who were traveling by motorcycle and had a great conversation with them. There were many books available to read, including excellent books about Ambleside and hikes in the area which we were glad to have available. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was wonderful, and I discovered I love really fresh orange juice and homemade muesli. The owners were charming and I cannot recommend this place enough!

Having to leave

Absolutely everything. Property was spotless, very close to all amenities in town, facilities were excellent, hosts were lovely and breakfast was phenomenal, The property having a lounge and a bar was a very nice touch too.

Parking was a little tight and require a little manoeuvring, but given it is on the property in such a busy village is a big bonus.

I loved the location of this BnB, its close to everything you could possibly need. It was very clean and modern and the staff were super friendly. The breakfast was excellent as well.

The only very minor gripe I have was being on the top floor on a very hot day and we only had a very small fan to keep us cool which wasnt ideal but we still loved our stay and would still 100% come back and stay again.

We especially liked the breakfast room with Lakeland slate walls. We loved the homemade Granola and fresh fruit bowls and the enormous Lakeland sauasages which came with the cooked breakfast. We also loved the breakfast choices and the way in which Andrea and Giles presented and produced the breakfast, delivering it hot, with a minimal wait and cooked to perfection. Our room was exceptionally clean, the furnishings were fresh and welcoming, the bedding crisp and white, there was plenty of Clipper tea, coffee and hot chocolate available. There was even free parking and Elder Grove was just a few minutes walk to the centre of Ambleside.

Perfect location- clean, comfortable and just what I needed for a base for a long day out hiking in the hills. Excellent breakfast as well. Fantastic to have a full bath in a single room

It was very hot when I was there - 30 degrees- and it was pretty warm inside: but any place in Ambleside would have been similarly warm.

Breakfast was superb, the owners were friendly and helpful, our room and bathroom were well equiped- bedding and towels of a very high standard. Elder Grove is within walking distance of many lovely eateries and Windermere cruises. It has a car park too which is great in such a popular area

Elder Grove is centrally based in Ambleside, just a short walk from the town centre. There is on-site parking. We got a very friendly welcome, a very comfortable bed and a extremely clean bathroom. The breakfast was also excellent. Strongly recommended.

As is stated in the description, there is no lift and also the parking is tight - but as long as you are aware of this when booking, that’s no problem.

There is not much to dislike at all. We will go back. Our room was at the front, so a little road noise when the window was open but that's maybe the payoff for a great location and the view was lovely.

Excellent location, a few mins walk to the centre of Ambleside. Quality accommodation with attention to detail and the hosts were friendly, professional and very approachable. They make you feel very at home. As well as your beautiful room you can relax in one of the 2 lounge areas to watch TV, read a book or literally just relax in a warm and comfortable space. Breakfast was excellent, fresh and plentiful with quality local produce.

The hosts were friendly and so helpful - it's like you're visiting a friend's house. Breakfast was fantastic with a variety of offers and set me up for the day. Parking on site and located close to Waterhead and Ambleside town. Room was what I needed to accommodate all my stuff for my multiple activities.

Excellent location, added bonus of onsite parking. Immaculate clean and fresh room. Most toiletries were supplied and also tea/coffee/water was supplied too. Breakfast was amazing. Fresh fruit salad, yoghurts, cereals and also beautiful cooked breakfast. The room where the breakfast was served was also abso gorgeous. The owners were very friendly and helpful. I accidentally left my bag in the breakfast room and within a couple of minutes it was brought up to our room. We can find no faults at all with this lovely B and B and we will very definitely be back.

Lovely warm welcome, close to the centre

This is an amazing place. The room was everything i needed plus more. There are replenishment stations on the landings if you need more tea etc in your room and they provide accessible recycling facilities. Just about all the products are locally sourced, from the shower gel in the bathroom to the items for breakfast. The breakfast is to die for, with homenade muesli, and a great selection of freshly prepared hot food. The owners are friendly and very helpful and the fact there is a honesty bar on site is an added bonus.

The host was welcoming and allowed us to check in early. The hotel was cosy and had a lovely feel to it. Our bed was enormous and the room and bathroom spotlessly clean. Breakfast was tasty and the service impeccable. The location of Elder Grove is perfect, a three minute walk from the town centre. I would heartily recommend a stay here.

Adrian and Giles run a very cosy and welcoming B&B. It is very clean with pleasant decor. The breakfast menu has a variety of choice which can be mixed and matched. It is also delicious. The situation is great for walking to shops, pubs, cafes and bus stops. Adrian and Giles are lovely hosts.

My friends and I loved staying at Elder Grove House! Great location for shopping, restaurants and sightseeing. The bathrooms were glorious! Breakfast was to order and delicious. Parking was a challenge because of our huge van, but the owners helped us with the logistics!!

It was perfect.

The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. There is a small sitting room with books and maps that you can borrow to help you discover different walking trails around the area. Breakfast was lovely with a great selection of cold and hot food/drinks (we really appreciated the gluten free sausages/bread!) The bed was super comfy, we didn't hear anything from other rooms and the location was fantastic. Would recommend!

We loved staying at the Elder Grove! Lovely room with a comfortable bed. On the main street, but outside noise never bothered us. The location makes it very walkable around Ambleside. Nice extra touches in the room like cookies and cocoa. The 'Herdy' mugs made me smile and the toilet paper has the ouline of little dogs imprinted on it. Breakfast had a nice selection of cold items, including homemade granola which was excellent. Made to order hot items. Andrea was very warm and welcoming.

One of the best B&B's I have ever stayed, helpful, friendly with nothing too much trouble. Bed/bathroom bright, clean & modern. Unusual in B&B's there were 2 comfortable lounges and honesty bar.
