The only thing we didn't like was the church opposite was chiming all night and disturbed our sleep.

I like that the room was clean.

I didnt like that the manager was not on site to sort out the issues with the wifi and staff were not abld to take the payments. Also on the check out the staff cont8nue to rely on the internet which was not worming and they asked me to go to an atm and pay with cash. This is really bad customer service. The room was low high and i hit 2 times tje head in the roof strips. Also the fact that i couldnt do my work as no internet inside the facility affected my work. And the price asked was 129 pounds for one night. At the breakfast the cleaning lady acted like she is the boss and she even interfere in the discussion which i was having with the waiter. Customer service is non existent even the night staff went with me to show me the room. Very dissapointed though the facilities deserve a 5 stars.

We didn't have the best night's sleep with deliveries being made from 3am for the store across the road - maybe this is just on Sunday? Might not be as noisy if you you're not in the bedroom in the front? The emergency fire escape lighting in the room was too bright.

Staff pleasant and helpful. Accomodation clean and comfortable in characterful building. Easy to get to on foot. Fridge in room handy for putting milk etc in.

The Sunday lunch was bland and tasteless. Overpriced for what it was. I have a good appetite but could not finish it due to the blandness. The hotel does not do cooked breakfast on weekends for some reason. The continental breakfast was not good value either . The homemade granola was inedible due to being rock hard. They must have over-baked it without testing it. It seemed to be the fruits which had solidified as the oats/nuts or whatever were edible but I had to keep spitting bits out. It tasted burnt. The rest of the breakfast was not worth the price as it was cold and bland. Fresh croissant would be better than packet ones, and continental should include a choice of cold meats and or cheese. It should have been served in the eating area, not put in the fridge in my room.

Overpriced. Also had to pay for breakfast on top of the overpriced room rate. As a coeliac I had emailed ahead to check they could provide a gluten free breakfast, they confirmed they could. Both mornings I was initially offered fruit only. I had to push to provided with a poor facsimile of a cooked breakfast. The room was also stifling with only a fan on offer.

Great location, really good food.

Our room had very low ceiling with beams and we couldn’t stand up in half of it. The other rooms had much higher ceilings. It was also very warm.

The room was spacious the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very well equipped and everything exceeded expectations.

The fact that payment was not processed when I checked in despite having my credit card details. I was then woken up after 10pm when I was almost asleep and asked to pay. This resulted in a disturbed night. I asked for an explanation in the morning and sent a message earlier but still haven't received one. It is very unfortunate because everything else was delightful but unforunately it means I won't go there again.

Lots of character in great location

Very good location for the town. Fantastic old building and the room was nicely furnished and very clean. Although we didn't eat at the Seven Stars some of my family who were staying in the town longer did and said the food was very good. Although there is no parking attached to the Seven Stars there is a reasonably priced car park on the side street oposite which also has EV charging.

There was a little bit of noise occasionally from the pub in the room we had but nothing that would generate a complaint.

I loved the room very pleasant and clean. Loved the quirkiness of the old beams and the slightly slanting floor. Facilities and location very good. The only slight issue was the parking as a solo traveller. For long stay the car was parked a little distance away, so transporting my bags was a little troublesome as was only staying one night. After staying elsewhere. So i suggest park next to hotel and unload first then park car. I paid on just park so the following day just extended my parking online. Saved having going over to the car park physically too extend parking. Food looked and smelt good but didnt get chance to try. Would stay again.

Lovely characterful room. Comfortable bed and large bathroom with a tub. Excellent double glazing so no traffic noise from the High Street. Lovely breakfast menu and very good value.

The staff were incredibly pleasant and helpful. The room was well-appointed. We'd booked a twin room but the bed was made up as a king size. The manager offered to change it back while we were having dinner. The food was excellent and although we asked for a negroni and they didn't have Campari, the bar manager made an excellent alternative with another bitter.

The key situation on departure was a little complicated and we couldn't find the box in which we were supposed to leave the key. There was no breakfast, though we were directed to a nearby cafe.

Lovely room, friendly staff, great location.

The noise travelled up thro the floor in my room. I think it would benefit from being carpeted. They don't do breakfasts in the week, which isn't a problem but I don't think that was clear when I booked it. Highly recommend La Maison Bistro which is less than a 5 min walk. Excellent breakfasts both mornings.

I didn't realise that the hotel didn't do breakfast in the week. Not a big problem but its unusual.

The staff were amazing and friendly.

Minor note about cob webs in the corner of the room but when asked to resolve it the staff were very helpful and on my return to the room it was all gone.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Was really surprised at how lovely it was. Room was stunning, staff so friendly and helpful. Breakfast next day was lovely. Location was great. Would definitely recommend and would stay again

The hotel staff was very friendly and approachable, they even borrowed their charger for me to keep until the end of my stay. The room was very comfortable and offered cleaning service every day.

Lovely location especially for the town centre. Plenty of parking nearby. Lovely atmosphere with real 'character' rooms, warm and cosy. Very friendly welcome.

The room was a bit noisy as it is above the bar, which is, I suppose, to be expected, but it did sound like we were in the bar at times. The room seemed a little over priced. There was a lack of caffeinated coffee

Lovely large well decorated and comfortable room! Very charming due to the age, decorated respectfully due to age of site! Excellent bed size, further attention to bathroom area but overall really pleasant! Staff were really helpful and pleasant. Great central location, we didn’t eat at site on this occasion but we have down previously but the meals did look wonderful!

Obviously because of the age of the property the floors were a little uneven. The hot water took a while to reach temperature but was very hot

The fire alarm went off at 2am ( a false alarm ). Our room had beams and a low ceiling , plus an uneven floor, all part of age and character of the building, but which during the night was disconcerting.

Unfortunately didn't get her name but the young woman working, well everywhere! She was brilliant.

Would have appreciated wider choice on menu - and of course : Daily Breakfast! (though they did they offer this at weekends! We breakfasted at a small cafe close to the hotel - it was very smart, well-staffed, and were open from quite early in the morning! Very popular with their customers, they offered a wide menu and we particularly enjoyed their delicious breakfasts!

The room was beautiful and very clean and comfortable. It was in a great location and the staff were friendly. There were very nice shower products and plenty of tea and coffee in the room. Thankfully, there was a fan, as it was hot in the room.

It was a bit awkward getting over the bath for a shower. Sadly there was no breakfast available onsite, despite it being in the description of facilities.

Doesn't serve breakfast (Thursday). The main building on ground floor all locked up in the morning no staff, exited through residents door into alleyway. Seemed strange no staff, unfriendly.
