Light House Hostel

Bed and room was very good. Mattress firm but ok. Good blanket, big room, extra room to dry clothes and lockers. Only 1 toilet with shower attached so sometimes had to wait while others took long showers. Location is great. Close to the beach. Staff were friendly

Booked for 3 days but they told me on arrival i could only stay for 2 because they wanted to do repairs. If they told me before so i could book a different hostel it would have been fine but they never contacted me. Also when asked to pay the bill it was almost double my booking rate. 2 different times by 2 different staff i was asked for the higher rate. But showed them my booking and so payed the right amount less one night.

Private rooms are spacious and smart. Big bed, big balcony. Nice and quiet considering it’s in prime location. Staff were helpful.

Nothing except I would have liked a kettle and some water. I was on almost top floor and there’s no elevator so it was a bit of exercise.

Location

It can be cleaner. No one sweeps even the lobby or the front of the hostel. The sitting area is dirty. The sofas are sandy.

Honestly, the only good thing about this hotel is its location near the beach. Afterwards, the cleaning is filthy; it's poor, dirty, and rotten laundry from previous guests. The entrance smells like dirty dog and there's no common area where you can socialize... I don't recommend it

Easy check-in during after reception hours, the rooms are spacious and well climated, lockers are working. Comfy bed with light, plugs and curtains. In a very lively street with lots of restaurants, shops and massage places. Close to the beach Very friendly staff. Spaces to relax and socialise downstairs.

The bathrooms are generally nice but also could do a makeover. Probably not their fault but there's always toilet paper on the floor in the bathroom. Shampoo and shower gel could be added to the shower.

Jesucristo cuando le crucificaron, durmió en una cama menos dura que la de este hostal. Por no hablar de que se nota que no limpian el hotel habitualmente, ya que en las escaleras se ven las huellas de la gente que pasa. Además, en la habitación, el único sitio que esta un poco medio limpio, no puedes dejar tu mochila ni tus zapatos porque sino te cargan con 5$. Tienes que dejarlo como en una especie de terraza que esta muy sucia. Y huele mal.

Purtroppo come letto in altre recensioni ho trovato anche io cimici dei letti sul mio cuscino al mio risveglio. L’ho fatto presente e mi è stata rimborsata la notte, lo staff è stato molto carino però ho fatto presente la cosa la mattina alle 11 e alle 18 ancora il letto non era stato cambiato e sono andata a chiederlo nuovamente. Oltre a questo hanno due cani all’ingresso (di piccola taglia) che però vengono lasciati sempre lì, anche la mattina presto. Io sono allergica ai cani e questo mi ha dato molto fastidio, oltre al fatto che uno dei due cani abbaia a tutti quelli che entrano (se uno ha paura non è il massimo) inoltre l’odore di cane e di crocchette era fortissimo al piano inferiore Capisco voler tenere i cani ma sicuramente va segnalato, uno molto allergico potrebbe avere dei problemi e comunque bisognerebbe tenere più pulito per il loro odore. Concludo dicendo che invece di rendere i soldi del soggiorno sarebbe meglio adoperarsi per una disinfestazione, visto che il mio letto è stato cambiato ma se le cimici sono nel materasso la soluzione non si è di certo risolta

Excellent location in An Thuong right near My Khe Beach. Lots of bars, cafés, restaurants right outside. There were little stairs up to the top bunk they put me in, which was much easier to get in out of than with a ladder. Super cheap. Worked out about £4.50 a night.

So where do I start. Firstly I found bedbugs in my bunk and squashed a couple of them. Obviously, this is absolutely unacceptable. I notified the reception who gave me one night’s refund. Sadly, this is the perfect example of how unclean this hostel truly is. The bathroom in my dorm was absolutely filthy. Also, there seems to be lots of dogs running around so the whole place smells of wet dog. Basically, if you don’t like dogs, don’t stay here. The locker space in the dorm is kind of on a balcony and the guy in the bunk below me would go out and smoke on the balcony which is against the rules. It made the dorm smell of cigarettes. I told reception but they didn’t seem that bothered about it. The pillows were poor quality, so I got lots of aches and pains because they didn’t support my head. There are no keys or key cards for the hostel, so you just come and go as you please. Which doesn’t seem very good for security. I’m quite sure that anybody could just walk off the street, nod to the security guy after hours and he would let them in. I guess I shouldn’t be that surprised by all of the above given just how ridiculously cheap it is to stay in this place but that doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t have standards. I would not stay here again and I would absolutely not recommend it to anybody. Avoid.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and spacious and such a good location! I have booked another night for this week when I return because I enjoyed my stay!

I had booked 2 nights from 29th May to 31st May, yet upon arrival, I was being told by the trainee receptionist that based on their system, I only booked there for 1 night from 30th May to 31st May and I have never been so shocked and dismayed during my overseas trips on accommodation bookings. Apparently, according to her, my reservation on bookings.com platform is not in sync with their internal booking system, and coincidentally, my bed in the mixed dorm has already been booked and checked in by another guest upon my arrival. Thankfully, I managed to find an alternative at an old hotel, a room with private bathroom at an affordable rate down the street. The receptionist expressed her apologies by offering complimentary drinks from their refrigerator.

- the private room wasnt properly cleaned( hair and other residues from past guests) - the towels were smelly and there were no towel hangers in the shower - bad smell in the room and the reception - no fridge no kettle inside the room - check out is 11 ( usually 12 pm in most of vietnam) - for the price paid you get way better hotels in DA nang with room service and elevator, etc..

1-Vous ne trouverez pas un meilleur emplacement à ce prix là à Da Nang. Beaucoup de restaurant à bon prix à 2 minutes de marche. La plage est à 2 minutes de marche également. 2- La gentillesse du personnel et leur attention est remarquable. Toujours prêt à vous aider en cas de problème. 3- Les lits sont confortables. 4- Les toilettes sont plus ou moins propres. Si elles ne le sont pas toujours, c'est dû en grande partie aux clients malpropres.

1- Attention, Attention, les escaliers sont un vrai problème. Comme tout le monde, j'avais aussi vu les commentaires précédents. Mais en faisant l'expérience, j'ai compris que ce n'était pas une chose à négliger...Il faut vraiment qu'ils trouvent un moyen pour aménager un ascenseur dans cette place. Surtout si vous êtes logé au 4e étage. 2- AVANT DE PRENDRE POSSESSION DE VOTRE LIT, veuillez faire un examen minutieux du lit. Possibilité de petites bêtes indésirables.

I really liked the vibe, great location and very welcoming staff made the stay very comfortable. Able to book tours from the hostel too which was helpful. Lots of places to eat with close radius of the hostel.

The private rooms were big and had their own bathroom.

Just little things that take away from the value. Rooms should be cleaned or swept if you’re staying more than one or two nights. They need blackout curtains on the door to your room because it lets in a lot of light. It would be nice if they put soap/shampoo in the showers like every other private room I’ve stayed in. Still decent for the price but these little things could really boost the value and experience.

No bathroom gel or shampoo. No big deal but if a guest doesn't have these essentials then it is inconvenient.

This hostel has convenient stairs both inside and outside the dorm. Great location. Near the beach and spas. Very cheap.

The toilet inside the dorm is so damp. There's also no shower gel and shampoo.

Room smells clean, fresh always. They even have all essentials for females in the female dorm! It's perfect in all aspect!

Pretty nice dorm room. The women's room is away from the street noise. This was nice. The beds were comfortable. The location can't be beat - for real, it's central to all things My An and it's not even too noisy either! They have drinking water to refill your bottle if you ask. The dogs are cute. The staff were friendly and easy to communicate with.

The bathroom had a bad moldy smell. But as long as the bathroom door was kept shut, it was ok. The lockers were outside the room on the covered balcony. This was a minor inconvenience, but it was ok and actually nice because it meant it was quiet when someone got into their locker while you were sleeping.

The staff are really helpful and friendly. It was really close to the beach, maybe a 5 mins walk. Lots of restaurants nearby and it’s only just across Bikini Bottom Express.

There were mosquitoes in the room. There was no hair dyer, you need to request it from the staff and return it after using.

I liked Light House Hostel for: - Russian and English speaking staff - comfy bed with privacy curtain, lamp and socket to charge laptop and phone - lockers, air conditioner and fan in my dorm room - nice and clean en-suite bathroom - free and good working wi-fi internet - fantastic location: café, restaurants, pharmacy, ATM, massage salons, supermarkets, beach are 1-2 minutes of walking distance from the hostel. Dragon bridge and Bac My An Market was also not far from the hostel. - electric kettle and stove at the reception, where they can boil water for tea or warm up food - offered laundry, sightseeing tours and transportation services - daily cleaning of hostel premises - absence of lift/elevator (a lot of stairs to walk up or down) that was helpful as I was trying to exercise and lose extra pounds I can highly recommend Light House Hostel.

Overall maintenance of the place. Looks dated, not well maintained. In my dorm's bathroom the ceiling has huge black spots. Could be a climate factor, but still. Room's layout isn't well thought in my opinion.

There’s no lift so be ready to climb some stairs!! Not very social

The bed in the dorm itself was clean, the hostel is located in a lively area with lots of breakfast choices and cafes around.

They had an overbooking so the room I reserved in advance wasnt in fact available for me. The only free spot they had left was a bed in a 6-bed female dorm which I accepted. The price was adjusted accordingly. Rating the dorm: no space to put your belongings, you need to basically unpack on the floor, lockers way too small to fit a larger backpack, one toilet/shower per room so it gets messy and crowded, fully open windows in the locker room & the bathroom means tons of mosquitoes in the room cause not everyone in the room cares to keep the bedroom doors shut. But it's the hostel's fault for not having proper measures in place such as mosquitos/insects nets installed on the windows. The railings on bunk beds are below mattress level which is not safe at all for the top beds- the management should look into that (!). On my trip I stayed in several hostels before, but objectively speaking: this place has been the worst comfort wise. In the end the overbooking wasn't really that big of an issue, because I was supposed to stay there for one night only anyway, but it just shows poor management of the place.
