Brookfield B&B Guest House

We have just a week at Brookfield with our dog Archie, cannot speak highly enough about the guest house . Lorna was amazing and couldn’t do enough for us it was so comfortable and relaxed. Breakfast was amazing but too much for us.Archie had a sausage every day which he loved. We met some lovely people which made our breakfast time really lovely. Never been to the Lake District before but we have fallen in love with it. We booked for next June before we left, and can’t wait to go back . Lorna is now a friend she is amazing

Nous avons été très chaleureusement accueillis par la propriétaire Lorna qui habite sur place. Elle fait tout pour que ses hôtes passent un excellent séjour avec beaucoup de petites attentions. La chambre était bien meublée, confortable et très bien équipée, calme. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et varié (toute une collection de confitures, miels et pâtes à tartiner !). Le B&B n’est pas au centre ville mais dans un quartier calme et un agréable chemin y mène.

It was far enough from the centre of town, walkable (we told to take the old railway track which was a much nicer walk than along the roads.) Everything in our room that we could ever need, it was clean and tidy and well prosented. Seems like everything had been through of just in case you needed it. Breakfast was lovely we had a good choice of food to pick from, hot or cold, tea of coffee.

Lorna is an excellent host and made myself and kids feel so welcome straight away. The room was the perfect size for us and beds were very comfortable. All the little touches were very welcome. Beds were very comfy. Location slightly out of town centre but the walk into town (15-20 mins) is beautiful, alongside a lovely stream. We had no trouble with buses to various locations. Just downloaded the Stagecoach app as suggested by Lorna. Keswick is wonderful, lots of restaurants, book ahead in Summer. Would definitely stay again. Thank you

Only the room. We wished we had booked the larger room. Our room is very suited to a back packer who is younger than us. Lorna kept the room clean during our stay. Wonderful.

Comfy room with everything we needed and more. Lorna made us feel really at home, cooked fantastic breakfasts, and even helped with a minor medical emergency! There was lots of choice at breakfast and we particularly loved finding hot chocolate and marshmallows provided in our room. Beautiful location close to the footpath along the old train line.

The main road outside, as cars do come around quite fast,so felt uneasy with our dog,but would not put us off booking again.

Lorna was the perfect host, so welcoming and friendly and wow the breakfasts were top notch, perfectly cooked eggs for both my wife and I for all three days of our stay and even an extra cooked sausage for our dog Oscar. The property is well located only a 15 minute easy walk from Keswick town centre along the old railway path. We stayed in the cosy double which was small as expected but perfectly fine for 2 of us plus the dog. Would definitely stay again!

Lorna the host was exceptional in hosting us and giving us guidance on what to see and how to get there.

There was nothing I did not like

Lorna was very friendly, responded almost immediately, and was very accommodating with all of our requests. There was a special dietary requirement, and there were plenty of options available to cater for it. There was also a wide variety of food for guests without dietary restrictions, and the hot meals were very generous portions. The facilities were clean, and there were lots of thoughtful little extras in case you forgot to bring something on your trip, which was really handy. The location was within easy walking distance of the city centre, yet it was quiet enough to enjoy a restful night’s sleep. Great value for money! ☺️

Lorna was very welcoming as a host. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble, and the breakfast provided was exceptional and flexible in terms of timings. Lorna also had great knowledge of the immediate and surrounding area that maximised what we were able to experience during our stay. We will definitely be returning!!!

Nothing about Brookfield was disappointing.

Breakfast was good and made to order. TV options included ITV and Sky Kids. Lorna was very friendly and did all of our laundry while we were out enjoying Keswick. The location was close (1 mile) to the town center, with lots of restaurants and cafes. Hope Park and Derwentwater Lake were beautiful!

Street parking was slightly up a hill across the street. Three flights of stairs with no lift made it difficult with the luggage, but Lorna did help with one bag. The room was a little musty at first, but opening the window (tilt) helped.

Everything you needed, a lot of thought has gone into making your stay very comfortable. The bed, linen and towels very nice. Breakfast excellent quality ingredients

Amazing location for staying in Keswick, is only about a 15 to 20 minute walk into the town centre! The room was brilliant & Lorna was a fantastic host, very friendly, and gave us a lot of ideas on things to check out in the town.

Lorna was an excellent host, and did everything to make us feel comfortable and looked after whilst we were there. The breakfast really was outstanding, with lots of choice. Bed was comfortable, the room spacious and nice to have two armchairs to sit and enjoy afternoon tea on after a long day of walking

Lovely stay at Brookfield. Room equipped with everything you need. The accommodation is well located, about 20 minutes walk from the town center. But the highlights of the stay were the superb breakfast with quality products and the kindness and friendliness of Lorna. The mad us fell very welcome, by offering suggestions and providing snacks indispensable for our daily hikes.

We cannot speak highly enough of our stay at Brookfield B&B. Keswick itself is a delight and a perfect base from which to then get out and explore. Our room was spacious and comfy with all the key amenities you need. The breakfasts were exceptional - a mix of self-serve and a la carte. Lorna is a fabulous host - forever welcoming and helpful. One note: there is no on-site parking but we had no problems parking each day on the street adjacent. Brookfield is only a 10-minute walk from the town centre via the lovely Keswick-Threskeld pathway. Highly recommended.

Lorna was a wonderful host. We were greeted warmly and nothing was too much trouble, even helped with a forgotten charger situation. Our dachshund was treated at breakfast time and the tea tray in our room was the best we've ever had. The room was large, bright and very comfortable. Location is great. Walk along the old railway line in to town (torches are provided for the walk should you return after dark)

The hosta were so accomodating, from making last minute changes to our booking to organising early morning breakfast. They were so friendly - even spared a sausage for our dog!

The host were so lovely. Breakfast was really good and there were loads of options to take snacks with you, perfect for walks! Beds were really comfy.

Parking could be a little tricky if the roads busy

We stayed for 5 nights at the start of May. It is a lovely place with kind host and brilliant breakfast. The accommodation is well located to the town with a 20min walk along the cycle path. Thanks for an amazing stay!

Location is perfect, short walk away from Keswick centre Room was very clean, comfy has everything you need for you stay including tea coffee and snacks! Breakfast was perfect! So many options! And Lorna had an extra sausage cooked every morning for our dog!

This was the perfect place to book for our first trip to the Lake District. Great location and easy to get anywhere we wanted to go on day trips. Lorna, the host, was really lovely and super accommodating. The full English breakfast each morning was 10/10. Would 100% book here again if I were to stay in Keswick.

The host had really gone the extra mile. Loads of coffee making facilities and milk in the room, easy to park and a lively breakfast each day. The host also provides early checkin compared to most b&b's we've stayed in the area at. Lovely friendly lady.

The location isn't in the centre with a 15 minute walk needed into Keswick. It wasn't a big deal for us but this would be the only deduction I'd make.

Lorna was a fantastic, friendly host and couldn't have been more helpful. The property is in a convenient location, a short 2 minute drive to the stone circle or an easy walk along a footpath in to the town centre of Keswick. The breakfasts were amazing with a great selection on offer. Would definitely recommend.

Lorna is such a welcoming host. Was greeted on arrival and given some very useful tips of the area. The breakfast choices are unbelievable, recommend the full English. Was probably the best I have had…and I have had a few! However there was loads of cold and warm options catering to every allergy if needed. The dog even was excited each morning to have a sausage! The room was also filled with a range of different teas and coffees, hot chocolates and marshmallows! I also liked the fact the property was a 10minute stroll from Keswick, there is a convenient repurposed train track that walks you into Keswick away from the busy road which was great as we had the dog, also allowed us to walk off the breakfast each morning before starting by the day!

Lorna was absolutely amazing couldnt do enough for you when you was there even had a sausage waiting for the dog at breakfast time! And her breakfast were fabulous too tea on tap and extra toast if you wanted it, definitely set you up for the day.

Lorna is a fabulous host, all the amenities were so well thought of, even to the smallest detail. Breakfast was great, so much choice, rooms clean and comfortable.

Even though the property is right on the main road, the room was surprisingly quiet. The beds were incredibly comfy and the cleanliness was, without a doubt, spot on!

The hospitality & breakfast were outstanding. The lovely snack basket was a great touch, alongside a big selection of tea / coffee etc in our room & we felt so welcomed. Our room was comfy & cosy after a long day of walking & we really enjoyed our stay.

The bathroom could do with a little updating, but it was clean with fluffy towels & a hot shower, so perfect for our needs.

Thought the owners Lorna and Simon were fantastic very friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was amazing, quality ingredients and cooked to perfection 👌🏼 Location was good just a short walk into the town.

Great location of the hotel with a very short vicinity to the town. The hotel is dog friendly which is great and there is a small forest across the hotel to take the dog for a quick wee. The host, Lorna, goes above and beyond to make you comfortable and she makes an amazing breakfast which was included in the price. The room was specious and we could comfortably sleep in there with our 4 year old daughter and the dog. Lorna was also really helpful with guidance of the best places to go for food or to visit. Overall great value for the money paid.

It was very clean and had a come comfort vibe. The breakfasts were fantastic and there were little touches to the room that I really appreciated like makeup remover wipes and little scissors to help with the coffee and hot chocolate sachets as they can often be fiddly. I drink oat milk out of preference that there were plenty of little sachets in our room which was a thoughtful touch and also at breakfast the continental Side was fantastic! So many choices of spreads, jams, nut butters and loads of cereals, granola, weetabix, fresh juice, yogurts and she had a huge hamper filled with fresh fruit and cereal bars which guests were welcome to take whenever.

The only thing I found just a little frustrating was the walk into Keswick. It didn’t bother me at all in the day or on our way out to the meals in the evening but when it’s 10pm at night and you want to get to bed I wish it wasn’t a 25 min walk back. However we had no problem whatsoever getting a taxi back in the evening each night and it was only £4 one night and £5 the other so if you don’t want a walk late on taxi services are great.

The host Lorna was absolutely wonderful. She made our stay warm and welcoming. Even catered for my special dietary needs. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The room was clean and tidy, and most importantly, it was well stocked up with everything one needs. She also included a 24/7  fruit and snack  corner ! Must mention we were greeted by her gorgeous friendly fluffy black cat named Salem the second day. The B&B was easily accessible to the local sites, plenty to see, restaurants, and cafes to go to.. My son and I enjoyed our weekend away.

The place definitely needs an update. The ensuite shower is quite small. The room space wasn't utilised properly and would look bigger if the sattee was removed and replaced with two  small  chairs  and a small table  instead blocking the bay window to enjoy the view outside.  Does one need a huge wardrobe and dressing table?!  Just need a small unit to hang a few clothing  and maybe a long mirror. Didn't like it when the host went into the room in our absence to replace or top up things or clean the bins.. I guess it was meant to be a good intention. I did not appreciate it respecting ones privacy, which is important unless when asked too.   Also, there's some black mould on around the window sill. No parking is available at the property itself, but the use of public parking, which was away from the property but accessible, and can get crowded although we were lucky enough to get parking space further uphill. Too noisy with traffic as the property is on the main road. But it was quite later in the night and got busy later on in the  morning.

Don’t hesitate to book this beautiful little B&B. So peaceful, we never heard anyone else the whole weekend. You absolutely won’t be disappointed. We’ve just had the most relaxing stay. Lorna is a wonderful host and goes out of her way to ensure you’re comfortable and very well fed with the best breakfast we’ve ever had. The choice on offer is fantastic and she caters for all needs. Stan our Bedlington was welcomed every morning with a sausage. And I forgot to say thank you for the treat for him at our door. Great location for Keswick centre and walking distance to plenty of pubs and bars. Thank you for the most wonderful stay and we already can’t wait to return

Lovely property with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Lorna went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Her delicious breakfasts were generous and varied. The 24/7 snack and fruit corner was a hit with our 7-year-old. Great location, just a short walk to the town centre and other touristic attractions in Keswick (Derwentwater, Castlerigg Stone Circle, Catbell, etc). We had to leave a day early due to our child feeling unwell, and Lorna kindly offered a refund - completely unexpected and much appreciated.

We were warmly greeted when we arrived and assured availability for any future questions. Breakfast was phenomenal and made to order. Room was clean and good sized. Can't say enough good things about our stay.

Lorna is a lovely lady who took care of us for 3 nights. At breakfast, there are not only a range of cooked breakfast options, but also plenty of fruits/ bars for snacks during the day. She kindly did my washing twice during our stay as I was hiking everyday. It was very generous of her, and we enjoyed our stay here as much as the views from the peaks.

Lorna is the most welcoming, kind host. The breakfast was lovely and the selection of picky bits was the best I've seen (Nakd bars, Avocado, Yakult and mini Boirsin!) and she even encouraged us to take any little snacks for our walk! The room was very traditional and the beds super comfy. If you're after clinically clean and super modern this isn't the place for you but if you want a warm welcome, a 15 minute walk into central Keswick with a really nice host then you'll love it here.

It is a 10-15 minute walk into Keswick, so not super central.
