Acorn House

Acorn House is very well located only being a short walk into the centre of Keswick. The breakfasts were absolutely superb. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms spotless.

We had rooms on the second floor which meant negotiating a narrow staircase with luggage. When we stay again I would request a room on the first floor.

Acorn house was a very acceptable accommodation, not to far from the centre of Keswick. The room was at the top of the building, up a narrow staircase from the first floor. The breakfast was very good, and staff very attentive. We would stay there again

Windows in room not opening so a bit warm

My stay at Acorn was better than expected and perfect if traveling with public transport. Took a train to Penrith and then a bus to Keswick and the bus stop was a mere 5 minute walk from Acorn House. Whilst not using our own vehicle, parking is available at house if needed. We received a warm welcome from the staff and a smooth check in process. Immediately stepping in, I felt like I was frozen in time with the timeless interior of the house. Wonderful decor, clean and cozy. We were directed to our room up the stairs. The room was very neat, spacious bathroom, an installed pump to ensure proper water pressure and heating. The bed itself was perfect for a night sleep. We were a couple enough space for 3 maybe 4 people. Windows easily open out for a great air flow and enjoyment of the fresh air. As well as views of the mountain. The comfortable beddings ensured we could've kept the windows open and stay warm and cozy through the night, there is also a shade to pull to block the light out. Room contains 2 TVs. Breakfast was included with our stay. A full menu with the common breakfast items you can think of. Full English, smoked salmon with eggs, eggs Benedict, you get the point. They also will provide toast, cereals, fruit, granola and some pastries as well as juice, tea or coffee for breakfast. There is also a veggie/vegan menu and they were able to offer meat substitutes for us. Also a lot of leaflets with information are available about Keswick and the lakes, maps as well if needed. Overall, I felt like I was staying with my family, the staff were so kind, friendly, helpful and very interactive. Staying at the Acorn House offered so much more than we thought and we hope to return.

Acorn House has so much character, having historical significance with the town. It is a guest house, with independent rooms but a shared guest lounge and dining room. The rooms and beds are very comfortable, and the breakfast made to order and wonderful. Off street parking is provided free of charge, in a town where parking is at a premium, and the town centre is only a couple of minutes walk down the street. We even walked to the lake and the stone circle. The hosts are warm and welcoming too, just adding to the charm of the place

This place does an amazing breakfast menu with choices for everyone. My husband enjoyed a big breakfast with the most amazing sausage and I loved eggs benedict with smoked salmon, the perfect start to a day of walking! The staff are lovely and clearly accommodate their guests well. We arrived early and it was no problem to park up and check in at midday. We were really thankful for this.

There's nothing to dislike at this place, everything is perfect for a visit to the Lakes!

We have stayed at Acorn House several times because it is walking distance to Theatre by the Lake, town, Museums, and the bus station. We like the friendly hosts, the delicious breakfasts, everything about the place.

Position to Keswick and walking in to the town was minutes. Perfect position. The on site parking was a bonus that is a real help staying over as parking can be at a premium. Breakfast was excellent.
