Location good didn’t require breakfast
There was no dislikes
Staff were friendly. Food was lovely.
Shame the manager that night was telling the staff off in front of us.
The staff, the food and the room facili8.
Poor signage from car park to reception and quite a long walk.
Very clean and attractive decor. Lovely garden at the rear and nice coffee shop within the hotel. Restaurant serves good food at a reasonable price.
No lift which means carrying heavy bags upstairs to the bedrooms.
The staff were excellent, pleasant and engaging without being pushy or officious. Breakfast was excellent and the dining room and bar areas comfortable and attractively decorated.
We only had booked for 1 night!
Friendly staff and a comfortable room
Free parking
Great location in town centre, lovely restaurant and bar.
Being charged £5 to park my car as a resident at the hotel!
Excellent location, lovely rooms and good parking . All the staff were very helpful, informative and very welcoming.
Nothing.
Location
Needs to be renovated as looking very tired
Wonderful breakfast good quality ingredients Very friendly relaxed atmosphere Staff excellent
Only draw back for some would be no lift to the second floor
Excellent staff. Nice restaurant and that evening live music in garden followed by a film showing.
Our room although large, had the kitchen extractors within a few feet of the window (just the other side of the fire escape) with all that entails. There was air conditioning but we prefer to open windows. We did request a move but unfortunately no other room was available. We would stay at the hotel again but not in that particular room.
Gorgeous suite and very comfy bed. Restaurant looked great though we were at a function somewhere else.
Took a while to check in as no-one was one the desk when we arrived.
Lovely most comfortable bed and room with everything you require. Was a very central location with secure free parking.
There was no lift and room was a bit difficult to locate.
Location. Easy parking. Comfy beds. Great shower
Nothing really. Perhaps £5 car parking per day charge.
Location was excellent. They had their own large private carpark at the rear of the hotel. The bar and restaurant was beautifully decorated and the food was excellent. Rooms were really comfortable and they are dog friendly and charge £15 per night extra for your dog to stay with you in a fog friendly room. In the summer months, they put on an outdoor cinema under their huge teepee, in their large rear garden. When we stayed, we had a fantastic singer, singing all Abba songs, before watching Mama Mia on the big screen. We ate and drank and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The Manager was excellent and his staff were friendly, polite and worked hard. We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend staying at this beautiful hotel.
Everything was perfect
The staff were great, the food delicious (an exceptional cooked breakfast), a lovely room and a great location.
The only criticism was that our room was very hot. A fan was provided but had to turn it off to go to sleep.
Lovely staff. Good location.
Good sized room. Good bathroom. Pleasant dining room, offering good breakfast & evening meals.
Would have liked a better selection of fruit at breakfast.
We liked the friendliness of the receptionist when we booked in at reception. We liked the breakfast and dinner we had in the restaurant. The hotel decor was stunning. So pleased we stayed at this hotel.
Zeer aangenaam hotel, mooie en nette kamers, gezellige bar, ruime parking, goede keuken en erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel.
Nadeel verbonden aan oud gebouw: geen lift en geen airco.
Staff are very attentive. Food and beverage services are excellent. Beds are very comfortable.
I wish it had a lift but it’s an old building
Fixed price for breakfast
The hotel was really well located, the facilities were great and the staff were brilliant. From the moment we arrived to when we left, the whole team were friendly, professional, polite and couldn’t do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
Nothing
Lovely clean room with tea/coffee and a new bathroom. What made the stay was the staff, truly amazing! Special thanks to Nicola, for lending us her Solar Glasses so we could all view the eclipse. Food was very good! Make sure you visit the Wilfred Owen Statue in the park opposite.
Nothing
Fabulous hotel with an excellent restaurant, large gardens, beautiful room, the staff were all lovely and helpful and good onsite parking. Really great breakfast choices. Excellent
There was nothing we didn’t like about this hotel
The location is great, the staff were helpful, the bar and restaurant were stylish. Our room was nice.
The hotel in parts is a little tired. One small fan in a heatwave doesn’t really cut it in the bedrooms. Air con would be a nice touch if they’re looking to improve guest comfort.
Room was fabulous , clean and relaxing, the bed was comfy. Breakfast was excellent and as much tea of coffee as you wanted.
nothing to dislike really
The hotel was beautiful, the breakfast was lovely and the staff were great and knowledgeable.
The pillows a bit hard and you could hear noises in the room. Also couldn't get a drink to take the room as they had closed the bar because not many in.
Lovely breakfast. Friendly staff who helped with luggage up the stairs. Good bathroom, easy parking. Great, charming, characterful old building.
A lift and air conditioning would have been nice. But lack of them wouldn't stop me going back.
Attentive and accommodating
Building and space in room
Awkward approach in relation to access from car park to reception rooms, bar external space etc restaurant food could be vastly improved
Very pretty hotel in the very heart of the town. Bedroom was delightful and had plenty of amenities
No plugs by the bed
Good location
Being charged £5 to park my car! with no prior notification upon entry or through booking.com. Limited Menu, rooms do vary
The room had an over powering aroma. I couldnt air the room out with the open window. I was totally bunged up like hay fever and checkrd out very early to get away from It. Spent most of the day with it lingering in my nose and taste buds. Very unpleasant given the price paid for the expereience.
Plenty of parking. Lovely room. Very helpful, pleasant staff, excellent breakfast.
Everything was good.
Lovely room with lots of luxurious extras. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent Very helpful receptionist
Great location with parking. Staff excellent and the bar and restaurant very nice.
No air conditioning
Everything was spot on
Nothing at all
Great size room, nice toiletries, and refreshments in room. Food was good, served quickly but a little bland.
The bed - although it was a good size and crisp linen the bed was too hard - woke up several times overnight and aching joints next day. Also the duvet was small for the size of bed.
Everything was amazing
Friendly, attentive and helpful staff, but not overbearing. Nothing was too much trouble. A comfortable and spacious room, well equipped and spotlessly clean. New, modern bathroom with bath and separate shower, toiletries provided. Great veggie/vegan breakfast was wonderful. Consideration was given to what could be provided as replacements for the meat elements in a full cooked breakfast.
Nothing.
The food and breakfast was excellent. Service and staff excellent
Nothing but I was only an overnight stay .
We liked that the hotel was dog friendly. The breakfasts were good and the staff were helpful and attentive.
Fabulous Hotel. Outstanding staff
Couldn't fault anything.
The rooms were very spacious and to a high standard in decoration. Rooms were very clean and cleaned daily , along with the supply of tea and Coffee and an added bonus of hot chocolate and biscuits which please my son no end.
The rooms were very hot as there was not air conditioning. The hotel did supply fans and we requested an extra one as there were three of us in the one room so each bed needed one. Whilst it was lovely to hear, the church do ring their bells for 45 minutes and it was loud!
staff, food
Room was very hot , unable to open windows, kitchen extractor fan just outside widow ,very noisy
Lovely staff..especially to Nicola who went above & beyond to assist us with all our questions! And to Chris the manager who was so helpful Beautiful hotel located in an ideal place
TV didn't work to catch football
Friendly staff. Very clean room. Nice toiletries
The location was excellent. Staff were very friendly and the food was top notch. Couldn't fault it.
Our room 208 was extremely hot . A fan was provided and did help but w are in a heat wave.
Beautiful room. Staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent food
Tv very difficult to operate but when asked, staff very quick to assist
Great central location
Entertainment tent outside window made it very noisy. Unfortunately it was the night of World Cup bronze match which didn’t end until after midnight Small room with poor storage - looks tired Top floor - window restrictor broken so window could be fully opened Breakfast was ok
Very central. Good pub and restaurant. Good car park.
Pillows bit hard. Fussy
Centrally located. Ample parking with quiet location
Good car park, nice decor, excellent breakfast. Excellent water pressure in the shower.
The view from my room (302) overlooked the air conditioning units. The thermostat in the shower was too high so I couldn’t turn it down for a cool shower in the hot weather. Had meals added to my bill which I hadn’t ordered. The friend I was travelling with and who paid the same rate for his room (301) had a much smaller room and overlloked the back entrance for the bar/garden area. He could only get out of one side of the bed because the room was so small. The fan didn’t rotate. TV remote very confusing and no instructions on how to use the overly complicated TV. Didn’t like being addressed as “guys” by the bar/waiting staff; it does not match the ambiance of the hotel.
The bar, restaurant and outdoor space were fantastic. Beautifully decorated throughout Every staff member was very cheerful and polite Food was amazing
Nothing
Great central location with large rear garden and parking.
Bit more choice of continental breakfast
The Manager was really friendly. We arrived just as dinner service was closing but they kept the kitchen open for us. The restaurant is really nicely decorated. The customer service was excellent.
Attentive helpful staff Spotlessly clean Large comfortable room
Nothing
Love our stay. Staff so welcoming. We’d definitely stay again.
We had dinner in the restaurant down stairs. Food was lovely but, they only had 1 vegetarian option for a main, which was disappointing.
We liked everything beautiful hotel wonderful staff wonderful setting
Nothing
Good atmosphere, central location, great restaurant and lovely staff
Would benefit from air con in the rooms
The location was just right. Also parking on the premises was a plus.
Choices of the evening meal.were a bit limited.
Friendly service from reception and restaurant staff. Room very clean and comdortable. Very at ease atmosphere. Definitely stay here again
The staff were exceptional. Went above and beyond in their friendliness and ability to deal with what was a fairly complicated booking. Couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The whole hotel was managed with a relaxed air of efficiency and capability. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was an excellent size, the beds were comfy - even great pillows. The food was delicious and always quick to arrive and they easily coped with 12 of us, plus a few extras for brunch all with different room numbers and a variety of orders. The parking was convenient and plentiful even in the middle of town and a drink on the lawn as the sun was going down was perfect. Would give this hotel 10 stars if I could. Best place we've stayed for an awfully long time, possibly ever!
nothing
Ok needs some TLC
The kindness of the night porter
The attitude of the check in staff
I had managed to book the wrong night when we arrived. Sat to Sun rather than Fri to Sat. Fortunately the staff managed to find a room of the equivalent standard as the booking. A lesson to me to be more careful in the future. We ate in the restaurant, the food and in particular the service was excellent. I can't praise the restaurant staff highly enough, it made for a very pleasant evening.
Pre dinner at 6:45 there was such a queue for drinks at the bar. After waiting for more than 15 minutes we went through to dinner without getting anything. The hotel should really consider putting on more bar staff at busy times. Otherwise there was no aircon in the room we had. Not sure if that applies to the whole hotel or just the circumstances of our rearranged booking. The rom was very hot and difficult to get a breeze though as some windows didn't open.
Great location in town centre, with parking. Staff very helpful & pleasant. Beds were very comfortable & rooms nicely furnished. Hot beakfast choices were excellent.
We were staying during during a heatwave, unfortunately with no air con it was very difficult to keep cool & sleeping was virtualy impossible. Each room had a fan but sadly that wasn't sufficient. Having said this it wasn't really anything the hotel could remedy, UK weather!!!!
Good location free car parking good restaurant Room was decent but we kept up Our Booking.com average for every room booked on this platform having a view over the rubbish bins and healing /cooling ducts.
Too many stairs and no lift. Long walks with luggage ( we regretted turning down help With luggage to our room. Don’t! This hotel has narrow corridors and stairs up and down where no room should have stairs..) We also disliked that the charges were fluid and we did not know what we were paying for the room until we checked out. Quite expensive for what we experienced .
The hotel is ideally situated in the town centre and good value for money. Food in the restaurant was top-notch and the staff were very helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.
Nothing
Great food and fantastic staff. Staff had time for you even though there was a big wedding reception on. Thank you very much

Convenient location, parking, and excellent facilities.

Friendly service and fantastic food, delicious breakfast. Parking was very useful too
Excellent
The selection of beers was very small
breakfast was v good bedroom with bath is very good. Wifi is good. restaurant & inn has very good flow of space.
room window for ventilation needs to open a bit more
The hotel, rooms, food, staff and parking was brilliant, cannot fault. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, always ready to help. Food was very very good, room very comfortable and parking so easy, plenty of room. Would highly recommend.

Location was great for exploring Oswestry
Nothing
Comfortable traditional hotel in centre of town
Great facilities centrally located and the staff were very friendly
The hotel was in an historic part of Oswestry. It was nicely decorated a bit quirky. A super breakfast, served by friendly staff. There were extras in my room, such as a digital radio. It was quiet, so easy to sleep.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room comfortable and clean. both dinner and breakfast were very nice.
Bar restaurants and gardens are lovely and staff were v nice
Bedroom was poor …. Fire escape a utilities like air con outside the window .,,, was awake from 5am
Excellent breakfast, good location.
Lovely spacious room with a very comfy bed. Great facilities (radio, large TV, Nespresso machine and kettle). Very quiet. Excellent location. The dinner was fantastic (Recommend the Rib Eye steak!)
It’s great location in the town, with secure parking. As it was sunny it was lovely to be out on the green. Comfortable bar and restaurant area.
I appreciate that a lot of work has been done on the hotel, but for the price more effort required in the bathrooms and window replacement. The stairs and hallways are in need of refurbishing. The staff need to care more and actively listen. Eg asked why we were there … a funeral.. response … have a great weekend. The staff need to make you feel more special, which you’d expected at £240 room rate. Cooked breakfast good … continental section not very inspired. And why can’t you provide barista coffee at breakfast? If not then provide decent coffee - I drink black coffee and I find your coffee undrinkable In general not great value for money
Great location and super car park
All fine
The location being very convenient for the town and visiting the surrounding areas. The facilities were clean and well maintained and the staff were very friendly, polite and efficient. The bar and restaurant areas were very comfortable and calming. It was a pleasure to sit in the bar with a drink or coffee and watch the world go by. There was an excellent choice of beverages.
There was nothing we didn’t like. The only thing we would mention is that the food menu , in our opinion, could have been a little more “à la carte “. It did resemble a pub menu rather than a restaurant menu. The portion sizes were hearty and we felt a little bit guilty that we couldn’t eat all of our meals.
Clean and well presented with useful extras
Location in a small market town. Lovely grounds. Safe parking for motorbikes. Ideal location for bike trips into North and Mid Wales
No shelf in shower so bending down to pick up the shampoo and shower gel could be perilous
The room. Clean, comfortable.
Was little cold in rooms
Hotels pics are very deceptive, bedroom need a paint job and upgrade, noise travels from neighbouring rooms.
Room quality and decor
everything
two chairs in the bedroom rather than one
Nice clean and comfortable rooms with large tv and tea and coffee facilities, nice spacious modern bathroom comfortable beds.
No lift and lots of stairs if you have bad knees 😆.pillows could be softer
Breakfast was excellent. Dinner was OK but not exceptional.
Evening meal was a little dissapointing. The duck ceaser salad was particularly poor for the price
Excellent hotel, I’ve stayed a few times now and it is always consistently good. Good value also.
Nothing, it’s great!
Good parking. Very good restaurant. Staff very pleasant and polite. Very good value for money. Breakfast good and varied.
Electric towel rail in bathroom didn’t work. Additional heater provided in room as central heating not optimal. Some radiator maintenance required.
The Wynnstay is a great hotel. Location in the centre of town means there is always a great atmosphere with guests coming and going throughout the day. Decoration is modern and fresh and the food is great. But most of all the staff really want to look after you making you welcome and well cared for.
