We stayed for 5 nights and absolutely loved every second of it.. from the friendly staff, to the amazing breakfast and cozy rooms everything was just perfect and we were so well looked after. The location is also good and indoor parking is a massive bonus. 100% would reccomend such good value for money!

The TV did not work. The bed was very uncomfortable. The neighbors were very noisey. The area was very disappointing.

The wrap-around balcony with exceptional views of Hout Bay was awesome. The option to sit inside or on the patio for breakfast was also a nice amenity.

It could have been a little cleaner, but overall it was neat.

We loved our room and our pool view. Love the breakfast Balcony and that exquisite view and Breakfast was good. The staff was also great.

The location: when we drove through the roads that leads to the destination I taught we were gonna be dissapointed because of how it looked there bt as we went further up I was quit impressed by your beautiful place and all the other places uphill I honestly taught you guys were at the wrong location😊 comparing the upper hill with the down hill. And one other thing is the mini fridge in the room we couldn't put our stuff in there coz it was way too small so the stuff had to stand around in the room so maybe a bit bigger one.

It had a balcony with beautiful views of the bay with tables & chairs to eat & relax. The staff, especially Jeremiah kept everything going from welcoming & helping with luggage to serving breakfast.

The cleaning staff did not roughly clean the room and would rush us to come out of the room to do room service. Also the breakfast was not flexible, kept on eating the same thing everyday.

Staff nice. Breakfast good. Room was big but not what was expected. The room that we occupied connects with the staff quarters at the bottom which gets a bit noisy at times. Overall we enjoyed the experience.

Staff members, Jeremiah, Henry and Brave were very friendly. Breakfast was good.

There are a few maintenance issues that need attention. The air conditioners in two of the bedrooms are not producing heat. Lack of communication from the management.

My toilet gave some issues as the water in the cistern wasn't filling up. We had to manually fill the cistern with water when we used the toilet. Wasn't ideal at all Our sheet had stains on it.

Breakfast was good, the beds and cushions were super comfortable. The big bath was great with good water pressure for shower. The view was amazing.

Not the Guesthouse's direct fault, but there were noisy neighbours in the guesthouse. They made noise until late. Also, the neighbourhood was quite noisy at night. It was over the weekend, so understandably people were more festive, but the music was loud. It wasn't too pleasant sitting outside and enjoying the amazing view.

We recently stayed at Hout Bay Guest House for 3 days as part of our honeymoon, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Waking up each morning to the breathtaking views was a highlight of our stay and made our honeymoon feel even more magical. The breakfasts were exceptional—fresh, delicious, and prepared with great care. It was the perfect way to start each day. What stood out most was how at home we felt throughout our stay. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, truly making it feel like a home away from home. We couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate such a special occasion. The room was a great size with a beautiful view.

I felt that there was a terrible waste of electricity. Every light was on 24 hours in the main area of the house. Maybe a few discrete lights on so it’s not completely dark. And maybe there could be a fruit bowl in the room as a welcome, something to snack on.

A nice hotel in the city, with a good location and atmosphere. My room was beautiful and spacious, and everything was perfect. You can relax in your room on the terrace or outside in the restaurant next to the lobby. The staff was very friendly and always helpful. A delicious breakfast is included in the price. The entire stay was great.

Some guests made noise in the middle of the night. Pity I only notified the host in the morning, otherwise he said he would have sorted it at night should I have informed him. Also it is written on the welcome pack, that noise is not acceptable at night.

Warm welcome. Amazing breakfast served by kind staff. Large room and large bathroom. We arrived early so had parking in the garage.

Small finishing touches needs attention, like the one bedside lamp does not work. The area appears dodgy if you enter it, but creates an opportunity for tourist to experience the fisher community from close by, while still being safe.

It was clean and comfy. Spectacular view of the bay. Smooth check in and secure parking was a plus point.

Place needs some tlc. One window could not close in the bathroom. Bathroom needs new blinds. There were no mats in the bathroom. Doors of the rooms needs some attention, squeaking a lot.

The views were beautiful. The mountains and bay was clearly visible from the room we stayed in and it was spectacular. The room was neat and clean. It is a relatively close drive to restaurants, the harbour and beach (about 5 mins). There is also the Mainstream Shopping Mall which is an 8-10 minute drive away.

Parking space was awkward, it wasn't really a parking, just an entrance way that was very tight but fortunately we had a small car that just made it in. The pool was not clean and the breakfast was sad.

Very attentive staff, Jeremiah was great met us at the door and communicated well for arrival time. Great nights sleep and everything you need and more for a guest house. Didn’t stay for breakfast but smelled amazing.

Nach unserer Rückkehr nach Deutschland mussten wir feststellen, dass meiner Frau und mir ein Teil unseres Geldes aus unseren Geldbörsen fehlte. Unsere Euroscheine lagen die ganze Zeit im Tresor, der mit einem Schlüssel aufzumachen war. Wir hatten das Zimmer immer abgeschlossen! Nach unserer Ankunft in Deutschland haben wir uns beim Vermieter sofort beschwert, dass uns Geld fehlt. Dieser erwiderte, dass das in seinem Gästehaus nicht vorkommt!, obwohl eine Bewertung aus 2025 (Febr.) einen ähnlichen Sachverhalt aufwies. Achtung: Nie Geld im Zimmer und Tresor liegen lassen!!!

Everything. The property was beautiful, clean, and the overall stay was enjoyable.

I loved almost everything about the property. The only issue was that the bed was extremely uncomfortable and very hard. In addition, at breakfast there were very limited options available for halaal guests. Most of the cold meat selection catered only for non-halaal guests, which made the breakfast choices quite restricted.

Close to the harbor, the breakfast, the spacious room

Coms - didn’t acknowledge my message/requests before I check in and cot only being prepared when I arrive, but it is okay, still resolved it for me. Overlooking squatter area but nothing wrong with it, just sharing our thoughts. Only have wine fridge inside room, and fridges in communal area doesn’t seem like it’s a shared facility and no room for anything extra.

Sehr hellhörig, man bekommt ab 7 Uhr morgens alles mit. Frühstück wird nicht nachgelegt. Wir sind um 8.30 uhr frühstücken gegangen und sowohl das Obst als auch Wurst waren bereits vergriffen und wurden auch nicht nachgelegt. Insgesamt ist das Frühstücksangebot relativ klein.

The room was big, bathroom big. Nice balcony. Staff very friendly and helpful. View was good. Good wifi. Lovely breakfast included. Like the idea of an open kitchen so we could heat up the pasta dish. Very quite at night.

TV now on streaming, couldn't get it to work. Seems more catered for overseas folk. Parking not good on site. Wife tripped on the uneven gate rail, cut her toe and hand and grazed the knee which affected her Two Oceans race. No green tea available.

Obwohl gebucht, hatten wir eine alte Klimaanlage, die nicht funktionierte. Der Grund für einen Auszug nach einer Nacht. Die Abwicklung der Stornierung von drei bezahlten Tagen verlief professionell. Die Lage. Man wohnt in einem Township nahen Bereich. Laute Musik und sehr! Viele laute Hunde durch die Nacht. Fühlten uns nicht sicher (5.Reise durch SA). Die Einrichtung ist in die Jahre gekommen. Tresor zum mitnehmen, nicht fixiert.

- Wunderschöner Ausblick! - Tolles frisches Frühstück mit individuellen Wünschen -Garagenparpkplatz für unser Auto - Lage mit Blick über die Bucht. Die Townships am Rande haben gar nicht gestört! Sie sind zwar zu sehen, aber man hat mit ihnen nichts zu tun. Entgegen der negativen Bewertungen haben wir uns sehr sicher gefühlt, obwohl wir etwas skeptisch waren mit Baby. Alle haben nett gegrüßt und die Musik die ab und zu zu hören war, war toll und nicht laut und störend. Wir würden immer wieder hierher kommen!

Aircon in our room wasn't working, power went out, our toilet kept lifting when we moved on it and had no toilet seat cover, there was a slight ant problem.
