The swimming pools especially kids pool could be better and the hours need to be extended. 7am - 7pm simply useless for customers staying for 1 night.

All the amenities are great, and the exeptional politeness of ALL THE STAFF. We had an issue with the room temperature during our sleep, and they immediately addressed our needs. They were also flexible with all our requests (early check-in and later time of checkout) and tried their best to accommodate them. They truly deserved the 5-STAR hotel rate.

It seemed like the room temperature was locked in 24 degrees Celsius. It is a comfortable temperature during the day but not when sleeping. I'm not sure, though, if it has been like that across all rooms of the hotel.

1) The staffs were friendly and super helpful. 2) Drying rack provided. Handy for drying clothes. 3) Spacious shower: Plenty of room in the bathroom. 4) Clean pool but small.

1) Misleading orange juice: They advertise fresh juice, but it was actually a mix with store-bought juice. 2) Limited breakfast: Very few options and almost no local Malaysian dishes. 3) Disappointing 'infinity' pool: The view is blocked by rooftops and tall trees, so it doesn't look connected to the sea at all. 4) No lifeguard: The pool area isn't supervised. 5) Bike hire costs extra: You have to pay to rent bikes, which is normally free at other Marriott Bonvoy hotels. 6) No bed rails: There were no safety guards available to stop children from falling out of bed. 7) Overpriced restaurant: The food really isn't worth the money. 8) Overpriced spa: Charges Singapore prices, which feel far too high for what you get. 9) Littered garden: Found lots of leftover cigarette butts in the room's garden area. 10) Public beach closed: Strong winds meant the public beach attached to the hotel was shut.

As always, we have enjoyed our stay in the hotel. Our son enjoyed the swimming pools and the Kids Corner activities. It is nice to see that the staff goes the extra step to make the stay more fun for the little ones.

Het is een ontzettend mooi hotel met prachtige ruime kamers die ook nog een connecting zijn.

Ik vond de voorzieningen aan het strand wat minder. Alles op het resort is erg mooi maar de beachbar kan echt veel mooier en gezelliger. Je ging er nu niet snel zitten terwijl het op zo’n mooie plek zit. Ik vond dit voor een 5 sterren hotel minder, helemaal in vergelijking met de rest.

Clean rooms, excellent staff services. Underground parking, next to the beach, away from the crowds. Excellent breakfast variety and quality. Pools for kids.

Limited options for drinks and food in-between meals, unless you go to the lounge bar near reception. Very limited roaming pool service for food and drink, we always had to get up and and try to find someone. Not really a five star experience. But overall a fantastic stay.

er kan niet in de zee worden gezwommen. snorkelen is ook niet mogelijk. het is best ver van stad/andere faciliteiten. voor Maleisische begrippen wel een wat duurdere bestemming

Staff took my husbands order for lunch at one of the hotel restaurants, he waited 45minutes, no one updated him or said anything when taking the order. Then after the 45 min someone came out to tell him the staff had now gone on lunch break and he would need to wait for yet another 30 minutes for his lunch...

Had a wonderful stay at The Westin. The room was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and smelled very fresh, which made for a relaxing experience. However, I was disappointed with the buffet dinner experience, as there were a significant number of flies in the dining area. I hope the management can look into this issue, as it was the only drawback to an otherwise lovely stay.

Hi Westin , I would like to dedicate many thanks to the hotel as there is so many improvement since my last stay. The lobby look more alive with new concept of sitting area and the snack & souvenir shop too. I really love the idea of busker singer entertain the guest. The beach bar movie night is really awesome (same like anantara) even the screen small and clear but thats fine who knows one day u have big one.The movie sound very clear with wave sound at the beach. Tq for the popcorn too. The hotel now is not so dark as last i came. Now is more and many light at the hall way stair from kedidi to beach and at the beach. Only the terrace room 111 ( my room) and all along the area is so dark and no fan at outside. And tq to Housekeeping for helping us to spray and give us mosquito plug in killer as my room is at terrace at bush area . One more thing i cant use the jacuzzi at the women room as it out of service. The rest is awesome and tq for making the hotel alive at night as we dont know what to do other than stay in the room. i hope there is more activity at night maybe in future. Love the lagoon pool, great for kids! Love our dining experience at Prego, Roy is so helpful.

Bedroom could use some upgrade, bedding is old, also some exterior of the hotel need some touch up too. Kid club was a missed, staff was not kid friendly, hygiene need to be improved, do not feel safe and equipped for kids.

Having a nice stay here. Cozy and clean, there are free shutter bus riding to nearby resort. Parking available free for in guest. Tried their spa, very nice and comfy. There are frego, seasonal taste and kedidi restaurant inside the resort. Beach bar available for drinks while sun bathing at the beach side.

So far have never failed. Desaru Westin is our 1st stay with big family of 45pax. All is good except 1 unit encountered aircon leaking and power trip at 1 of unit. Staffs is excellent from the front-desk, bell boy, housekeeping… The kids enjoy the facilities.

The breakfast spread was massive. And the food quality was really good. Also, the staff were really welcoming and helpful.

Not so much tourists amenities surrounding hotel, nearby town street scene seems very local living style, yet to developed toward tourist orientated attraction spots.

Selection of food was ok (not exceptional), just ok. Like you could provide guests with more choices. Food selection was so locally based mostly.

The room was comfortable, but it could use a bit of a refresh since the tiles, colors, and overall look feel a little dated. It would also be nice to have an extra bathroom mat, as the floor gets quite cold and kids could easily slip. Lastly, the coffee setup could be displayed more visibly instead of being tucked away, as we were not able to see it right away as to where it is. Need to open all the cupboards first.. like a treasure hunt.

First time travelling to Desaru via ferry, it was a pleasant experience and it's very convenient too. Shuttle bus is easily available to send the guests to the resort. Room and toilet is clean, the mattress and bed linen is comfortable. My only comment for the room is the laundry rack at the balcony. Management should consider changing the metal racks to teak material rack to withstand the rain and sun. The tropical view room that i was in, there is no way to hang my clothes as the rack is rusty. The resort has sufficient facilities for guests to explore, love the view from the infinity pool. Breakfast is good. Many selection to choose from. Love the live station where guests toast their own bread over charcoal and spread with planta and kaya. Not to mention, there's small packets of nasi lemak and traditional kopi and teh tarik! The team members are very welcoming and friendly.

Fabulous location for a beach break. Direct access to the beach, and choice for swimming pools. We were lucky to get an upgrade to a better room. It was very spacious. (King room, jungle view- looked towards beach with obscured view) The rooms are quiet and the bed is super soft, we had a great sleep. Courtesy bus from the golf course.

Just be aware. we were there during Singapore school holidays - it is popular for families, so very busy, and many children in all the pool areas.

My experience unfortunately did not align with that rating if a 5 star. Upon arrival, I felt that numerous aspects of the facilities were in dire need of maintenance. From the condition of the rooms to the overall ambiance, it was clear that the resort was struggling to uphold its claimed standards. I had booked three rooms for my stay, but one of them was not even ready until 4 PM, which was quite inconvenient. This delay significantly disrupted our plans and left us feeling frustrated as we waited for a space that should have been available upon our arrival. Moreover, I had arranged for a birthday decoration to surprise a friend, but the execution was disappointing. I was expecting a thoughtful setup that matched the occasion, but what I received were just two balloons placed unceremoniously at the center of the bed. This lack of effort did not reflect what I was promised and left me feeling let down. To add on, a lovely fragrance can transform a space and make guests feel more comfortable and at home.

This is my first time to the hotel and the environment is great for a family to come for relax. The hotel is also located next to their private beach and it is nice to walk around the beach. The breakfast spread is superb with lots of varieties to choose. The staffs at the restaurant such as Ms Zainab and Ms Puteri were very helpful and friendly to us during our time for breakfast session.

We arrived early at 1+pm and was attended to promptly by the reception staff. Swift and efficient check-in, staff were all smiling, friendly and polite despite the high volume of guests checking in. Since we were early, we hung around the lobby while waiting for our room. Recreation staff engaged the kids in activities, Concierge managing the luggages, enquiries from guests, Reception managing the check in and check out, staff at the lounge ensuring the guests are attended to... Everyone we met were carrying out their duties with great smiles and warmth! Our check on the extra bed set up and extra amenities were attended to very quickly, with a message to front office using the Bonvoy app. I received a message asking me about my arrival experience. I gave positive feedbacks but also highlighted some areas for improvement and I received immediate offer to check on the shortcomings. I couldn't be more impressed. We enjoyed the gastronomical buffet dinner at Seasonal Tastes and the awesome staff made the dining experience all the more enjoyable. Same great experience during breakfast. Despite the crowd, the staff were prompt and friendly. We had dinner at Prego and it was the best meal we had during this stay! The staff serving us was very friendly and made some good suggestions on the portions coz we were undecided. We were so caught up with the good food, we didn't notice her name but we certainly remember her beautiful smile! Everywhere we went in the resort, every staff we crossed path with were all smiles and warm with their greetings. I've never smiled so much or received so much smiles during other vacations. Thank you for making this stay so beautiful and memorable for us. You have a great place and an even greater team! The Westin will be our choice of stay whenever we are back in Desaru!

My family and I stayed at The Westin over the weekend and had a fantastic experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and there was plenty to do. The staff were consistently polite, warm, and welcoming. We enjoyed the spa, relaxed at the lounge while watching the World Cup, and really appreciated that our rooms were ready earlier than expected. We were also grateful for the complimentary late check-out. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and when one room had a minor flooding issue from the bathtub, the room service staff responded quickly and helpfully. The concierge and restaurant staff were also excellent. We had a great dining experience, and our server was especially helpful in guiding us on the seafood and sauces. The breakfast buffet was also one of the best we have had in Desaru. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we would be very happy to return.

Located near to the ferry terminal, easy buggy & shuttle to Hard Rock & some other nearby places, service staff all very friendly, food was good, also offered a selection of pillows.

Property shows obvious signs of aging, also had some dirty pillowcases and towels which needed to be changed upon checking into the room, mattress was also too soft for our liking, felt like we were sinking into it.

There is only one chair in our room. The bed is a bit soft for my likings. The carpet has a mouldy smell.

Breakfast was great. Plenty of options. Staff were ever ready to clear your plates, refill the food etc. despite it being peak season and very crowded. Rooms were well kept. Views were excellent. Beach was to die for.

I think there is a need to enforce dress code for the pool and someone to man the facilities. e.g. people were going into the pool in their street clothes, and the whirlpool room had no staff when we visited.

There was a persistent unpleasant smell in the area outside the lift near Seasonal Tastes. The odor seemed to originate from the nearby restroom. Unfortunately, this made waiting for the lift an unpleasant experience on most occasions.

We had a wonderful stay at The Westin Desaru Coast, made even more memorable by their thoughtful Member Appreciation Night. We were pleasantly surprised when the hotel team knocked on our door with a specially prepared selection of food and three beautifully crafted mocktails. The unexpected gesture made us feel truly valued and welcomed. The attention to detail, warm hospitality, and excellent service exceeded our expectations. It was a small but meaningful touch that turned an ordinary evening into a special memory. Thank you to the team for making our stay so enjoyable. We look forward to visiting again soon!

The staff at the Kondiki bar and restaurant are fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble!

I liked the location - It was next to the water park and had direct access to the beach. The counter and dining staff were also extremely friendly and helpful which was nice.

For the price we paid, I think the accomodation should have been cleaner. The housekeeping staff looked extremely tired and frazzled.

Location of the hotel is just opposite the Desaru Coast Beach, offering 2 swimming pools for the guests guest and good spread of breakfast, spacious rooms

Furniture might be outdated and a few of the switches might not be working, Whirlpool might be stuffy, and no fresh towels are available

Simply one of the worst ‘5-star’ hotel experiences I have had in Asia. Service levels and overall staff training was poor. Near impossible to get a table in the restaurants before 9pm. So many items on the menus unavailable while we were there. Open plan kitchen by the pool showed one thing, food cross contamination. Staff using hands to place fish on grill, followed immediately by using same bare hands to place handfuls of fries into metal baskets to be served with burgers Poorly made drinks Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are all watery, mainly because drinks left unserved for so long after being made. Dirty beach bar, with the bar piled high with used glasses and plates Very soft tired mattresses in rooms. Tried to provide feedback to GM on two occasions, but GM made no effort to speak with us. Having spent over SGD$1k over a 2 night stay, we left one night early. Staff couldn’t be less concerned. For this kind of money you would expect at least a discussion with management who would want to understand the issues. Complete disaster… If you are looking for a getaway (for us from Singapore for a long weekend) steer well clear of the Westin. It’s more relaxing staying at home, and better value!

I usually stay at the Anantara, but since they were fully booked and only had villas left, I chose The Westin instead. To be honest, I felt it was a bit overpriced. The rate I paid was only slightly cheaper than Anantara, but there is a noticeable gap in terms of class, the "luxury feel," and the overall service quality. Putting the comparison with Anantara aside, the stay was satisfactory overall. My only real complaint is the parking. If you return to the hotel late, you're left with parking spots only on the lowest floor, which has a bit of an unpleasant odor.
