Reviewed Sep 19, 2026Beautiful place to stay during ny visit to Shirakawa-go and surrounds. Super chill and calm atmosphere. Free tea and coffee. You can also use the kitchen to cook for yourself. The staff was super friendly and helpfull. Really good location. Only 15 minutes walking to the bus station. So many things to explore around. Not only the center of Shirakawa-go. There are few spot to have a quick swin in the river.

J'ai essayé deux onsen recommandés et ils étaient incroyables. Pour le village n'hésitez pas à faire un détour par Ainokura accessibles en voiture.

Reviewed Sep 8, 2026I have travelled a lot and stayed in countless guesthouses over the past seven years, but this is by far the best guesthouse experience I have ever had. The room was very clean, and all the facilities were well maintained. The owner, Kenkichi, is incredibly kind and welcoming. He is also fun, caring, and genuinely makes you feel at home. You really can feel like you are staying in a “home away from home” here. I highly recommend this place for both solo travellers and families or groups. I will definitely come back and visit Kenkichi’s property again in the future!

Reviewed Aug 5, 2026Very friendly staff, clean, and comfortable beds. Common area is spacious and it's setup in a way that facilitiates conversation. Beautiful mountain views from the front porch. Hosts do a couple of driving trips to the bus station every day.
Small things: It's a long walk from the bus station and from the tourist Shirakawa-go area, keep that in mind if you have lots of luggage. There is no clothes washing facility either in the hostel or nearby. There are very few restaurants that are open on any given day and on convenience store about a 10 minute walk away.

The distance from the guest house to Shirakawa-go might be quite significant, but since there is a special service providing a ride from the guest house to the Shirakawa-go terminal every morning, I don't consider it a problem.

The bunks are built really solid and people can move about and get in and out without making noise so others are not disturbed. The little outdoor space to have a beer or a morning coffee is super. Staff are fantastic and really helpful.

There were snacks available for everyone and drinks plus a great balcony view in the hostel’s door where you could enjoy sitting and chatting with others. Perfect experience!

הפסיליטיז מאוד מאוד פשוטים, ברמה שהיה קשה להעלות למיטת קומותיים כי הסולם לא נח, הוילונות גם לא מידי מכסים את אזור המיטה. זה רחוק בערך רבע שעה הליכה מהאזור המעניין של שירקוואה גו.

I was solo traveling and I met beautiful people here and we are still in contact, everyone were so friendly and welcoming, I felt like we were all friends the second I got there. Very friendly and funny staff, Kenji is genuinely the best. It was also snowing so the village was beautiful. Sometimes a place is more meaningful to you thanks to the people you met there. ケンジ、ありがとう。白川郷での素敵な思い出の一部になってくれて。これからもずっと、その思い出の一部だよ。

Reviewed May 30, 2026オーストラリアやフランス、台湾等の海外ゲストが多かったですが、オーナーやスタッフの皆さんがとても明るく、そして積極的に接して頂いたお陰で非常にアットホームな滞在となりました。 満点の星空や夕闇の水田に映える逆さ藁葺き屋根、そして早朝の村の絶景は白川郷に宿泊した者のみが味わえる貴重な体験で本当にヤバかった😱
近所にある唯一のコンビニは品揃いは豊富でしたが、21時で終わっちゃた😢

ราคาแพงไม่คุ้มจ่าย พนักงานจัดเตียงปะปนกับคนอื่นทั้งที่มีสี่เตียงสองชั้นอยู่ในห้องเดียวกันตามที่จองสี่เตียง ห้องน้ำไม่พอใช้ คนชั้น 2 ก็ลงมาใช้ห้องน้ำ ชั้น 1 ซึ่งมีคนเยอะอยู่แล้ว รอคิวนาน

The facilities to have food like cup noodles, beer and other beverages were really helpful knowing everything closes in Shirakawago by evening. The host was really helpful and helped get our luggage to our rooms a floor above. The common room was great to chill with other guests.
The location is a little away from the main village and bus stop but still not too far if you don't have too much luggage or if its too sunny. Bathrooms were shared and on the ground floor but that was fine overall considering other positive things.

The building itself is very bright and has a cozy terrace, the common room is equipped with a big table, and you can drink tea and coffee for free. The staff is exceptional, Shinya took us to observe the stars and the next day drove us to the onsen. Finally, the space is very clean.
There’re literally no flaws.

The place was clean, bed was comfortable, coffee was great! Snacks available for purchase on site and combini is only 5-6 mins walk away. Other guests were also respectful and friendly.

We were really happy with our twin room — clean, comfortable, and cozy. The location is also great, just a pleasant short walk to the main Shirakawago area, making it convenient to explore the village. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Shirakawago!

The host was very kind and supportive, we even played board games together with other guests at night, which made for a really cozy experience. I would recommend staying 2-3 more nights if you enjoy a peaceful nature vibe.

Reviewed May 13, 2026Schönes Guesthouse etwa 1,7 km vom Dorf Sirakawago entfernt in landschaftlich reizvoller Umgebung. Es fährt jedoch ein Bus dorthin. Wir konnten in einem Zweibettzimmer mit eigenem Bad und WC übernachten. Der Angestellte war super freundlich und äußerst hilfsbereit. Er hat uns gute Tipps gegeben auch am nächsten Morgen mit dem Gepäck zur Busststion nach Shirakawago gefahren. Der öffentliche Onsen in Shirakawago ist sehr zu empfehlen. Man kommt abends nur zu Fuß zurück zum Guesthouse - ist aber gut machbar, da keine Höhen zu meistern sind.
