Not adequate sun parasols

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very enjoyable and considering it is a small hotel there was a very good selection. The pool is small but big enough to accommodate everyone with a decent amount of sun loungers. The location is good a short walk to the centre 15 minutes walk to harbour and beach.

The location was perfect, very close to Alvor town & marina area, lots of choice at breakfast and very friendly staff. Ideal place for us and our trip.

Pool area & bar facilities pretty basic. We didn't spend any time at the pool area as we were exploring & prefer a beach. I feel it was a bit pricey too.

Good location, close to main area of town.

Mattress and pillows were very basic. I was surprised at this considering the cost of our stay. Room poorly decorated - no mirror near sockets at dressing table. Kettle and cups provided but no tea/coffee provided.

Just back from ten days with my daughter ..... great place to stay ..... location ideal as literally a three min walk to centre of alvor .... great supermarket 2mins away Hotel itself is very clean and most of staff super friendly and helpful ....... pool bar serves tasty snacks ...... We had a studio room which was perfect for us ........ my only issue would be with the room towels ....... theres not enough of them especially when sharing a room with teen who needs them ALL !!!!! 😂 Overall a great stay and hope to revisit again !!!!!!!

Great hotel. Perfectly situated for walking to Old Town ...beach + harbour. Always book a Premium twin room ..amazing views ...very spacious. Stayed here many times . Staff very pleasant . Only downside this time hot breakfast items could be warmer . Pool also needs a clean .

Just had a weeks stay in this hotel. Smaller than we assumed from the photos but absolutely lovely, clean, fresh and the staff were amazing from the cleaners to the reception. The hotel was quiet which we really liked, no noisy people at 2 in the morning. The breakfast was a traditional buffet breakfast which was also lovely. Easy walk into the center and to the beach, would stat there again and would recommend to a friend.

Very Central. Superb Staff. Stayed a week at this hotel. Staff very friendly. Rooms very clean and towels changed everyday. Pool and bar area are superb. Breakfast was great. We will return. Thank You Neusa Rocha and all of your staff. Restaurants and Bars less than a 5min walk away.

Central location, nice big rooms and large walk in shower, lovely staff. Rooms have little storage for clothes, two bedside tables and a table under the TV but no drawer space with either. Wardrobe minimal and not room to put a full length dress. Large mirror situated at back of wardrobe. Pillows not comfy although bed was. Walk in shower roomy and powerful but mouldy along bottom of shower screen. Minimal bath towels, why not bath sheets? Pool area nice, not enough sunbeds, needs more parasols as only static raffia ones at a few of the beds. All in all needs a bit of a refurb. This did not really affect our holiday in Alvor as we were out and about a lot. Alvor is beautiful. Lovely people and plenty restaurants and pubs. However I think the hotel is more 3 star than 4 star.

Here we are back again this is a lovely hotel clean , tidy spacious room very good housekeeping, staff are excellent and never without a smile. Location is wonderful just a short walk to town . No issues with sunbeds got one always . Would happily return well done

Le petit déjeuner comparé au 3* à Lisbonne n'est pas à la hauteur. Orange pressé, omelette parfaite a Lisbonne.. au.jardim jus bas de gamme omelette à couper au couteau ajout de farine ou autre. Nul.

Our first time in Portugal - we loved Alvor, it just suited us. With regard to the hotel, main points as follows: Location: very good - just a short walk to the centre. Room: pleasant and clean, though the balcony was very narrow. Breakfast: Light and airy room with an acceptable choice for breakfast (coffee not great) Bar: small - not somewhere where you would want to sit and relax with a drink. Pool area: small and limited loungers (loungers were generally reserved early morning with hotel not enforcing its policies.

Het personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ook was de locatie goed, met restaurants, supermarkten en andere voorzieningen op loopafstand. Het zwembad was daarnaast een fijne plek om te ontspannen.

De hygiëne kon beter. Er zaten vlekken op mijn kussensloop en nadat de schoonmaakster was geweest, leek het alsof de badkamer niet goed was schoongemaakt. Daardoor voelde de kamer niet altijd echt schoon.

I travel a lot and this is the 1st time I have not been able to relax by the pool! 😢 I was on holiday and I am not prepared to wake up at 6/7am to put towels on loungers! 😡

Stayed for 10 nights Loved this hotel all staff very polite and friendly Pool area very relaxing and always got sunbeds Room cleaned daily and yes the bed was hard but they gave me a mattress topper which solved that problem Was our wedding anniversary when there an came back to room to a bottle of bubbly lovely touch 5 min walk into town which was great esp on way back atnight About 15 min walk to beach but so worth it Will defo be back to this hotel Thanks again for everything

Great location only minutes from loads of amazing bars and restaurants About 15 minutes walk to beach but plenty of places to get drinks if needed. Lovely relaxed feeling and fabulous smell every time you walked into reception. Really clean rooms beds made every day and clean towels only issues not enough shelves/drawers and definitely need a mirror in a more suitable place (Behind hanging clothing is not great) Breakfast was good plenty of choice. Need to rethink area where toast and drinks are placed got a bit crowded at times but everyone seemed pretty chill about it. Pool area nice and relaxed possibly could do with a few more parasols because a couple of times when we went later we had to sit in full sun or move beds onto grass into shade. Was my 60th birthday whilst I was there didn’t mention it to anyone but there was a bottle of sparkling wine and cake with a candle in the room when we returned which was a lovely surprise. We want to go back to Alvor next year because it is such a beautiful place so we will definitely book here again

We have just returned from this hotel after a 14 night stay. Loved the location, short walk to the old town and harbour. We enjoyed breakfast, cereal, fresh fruit, ham, cheese, eggs, bacon,sausages, tomato and lovely cakes, pastries, croissants, bread. Plenty of choice. All staff were very helpful and friendly, house keeping was excellent too. Only slight negative was the lack of drawers in rooms, but was not a problem. I would like to thank the hotel for my Birthday fizz and cake. Lovely surprise when we came back to our room. Alvor is beautiful, this was our 6th visit but 1st time in the Agua Jardim but will definitely return. Definitely recommend.

Everything was great. Great breakfast, pool was fab. Pool Bar served snacks and drinks.

3rd time staying at this hotel ,this time took my family ,hotel is clean ,pool Area very good plenty of sunbeds . Breakfast something for everyone. All staff from cleaners to management worked hard for the smooth running . Just want to add to the hard bed comment, I do like a hard bed but these where like sleeping on floor maybe this could change in future. Also I had problem with my air-conditioning dripping all over bedroom and keeping me awake for three nights as hotel said it would be fixed within 24hrs ( home now so still waiting). But apart from my intrupted sleep my self and family had a pleasant stay and yes I would return for a fourth time ,hotel and location perfect .

Lovely hotel with helpful staff. Close to the village, beach and supermarket. Good breakfast service with a range and different varieties of food! Lovely and clean pool with plenty of space for the guests. Would recommend to anyone with small children as well as beach was only 10mins away by walk.

This was a pleasantly beautiful homely hotel 2 min walk from the quaint town of Alvor.. it offered bed and breakfast which had a fabulous selection and breakfast was beautiful.. beautiful lounge area and a pool bar that offered lovely snacks and amazing cocktails..

The reception staff were excellent and friendly and the view from hotel and its position was excellent.

The room was nice, but it needed more furniture and storage space - great view. The pool on the first 2 days was a horrible colour and not something we could swim in. The reception staff were excellent and friendly, but the breakfast staff (particularly the female staff) were very miserable. The quality of breakfast food was also poor. Bacon wasn't real bacon, baked beans were flavourless, and Marmalade was not real and lacked any flavour at all.

Das Hotel ist ein hervorragender Ausgangspunkt für Tagesausflüge in alle Himmelsrichtungen der Algarve. Auch die unmittelbare Nähe zur Innenstadt von Alvor ist großartig.

Bei den Zimmern mit Meerblick sind Alltagsgeräusche inklusive, weil das Hotel an einer viel befahrenen Straße liegt. Unseren Aufenthalt haben wir trotzdem genossen!

Another stay at this comfortable and friendly hotel. Staff, in reception, breakfast room and poolside care extremely well for their guests. Bedroom was cleaned almost every day. Very comfortable. Nice to enjoy views from our balcony. Room has safe and fridge, as well as tea/coffee etc. Breakfast offers everything! Cakes and pastries - hats off to the person who bakes these. 🌟 Poolside bar menu includes pizzas, baguettes, burgers and toasties as well as both soft and alcoholic drinks. Sangria is recommended. Thank you again for an excellent stay.

Firstly I would like to thank Nelson and Schwarn(apologies if spelt incorrectly) for their help regarding a broken rental car. The hotel is clean and as already mentioned staff friendly and very helpful. Their breakfast was a surprise. A lot better than we expected. And quite a large choice. The room we had was suitable for our stay and had a nice sea view. (And graveyard) I would have given a 5 but this was the first hotel I've been too where a kettle and cups have been supplied. But NO coffee or tea etc.provided.also the bed was the most uncomfortable. The pool area had a nice bar where snacks were available. The reception bar was limited. Short walk into town. Pleasant hotel but due to the bed wouldn't stay again

This was my 3rd visit to Alvor Jardim and I will continue to use it when visiting the western Algarve. Great location in Alvor (most "Alvor" hotels are in the high-rise strip towards Praia da Rocha, some way out of the town itself); good value; clean, comfortable rooms; small but sunny pool area; and consistently friendly, helpful staff. Cheap, well-stocked Pingo Doce supermarket just round the corner, so you don't have to rely on over-priced tourist shops when stocking up for snacks and picnics. Mostly very quiet.

Great location, very clean and nice friendly staff.

The studio we stayed in was tiny, and overlooked the car park. The balcony was in the shade most of the day and a Bit chilly. There was other apartments in the front of the building that got the sunshine most of the day. Would definitely ask for one of those if we book again!

Visited as a solo for a short break in Alvor. Hotel well positioned for all amenities, reception and breakfast staff speak excellent english and extremely helpful. My room had everything i needed plus kettle & cups. Some tea bags & milk provided on request. Was without any view ( over a paved area that backed onto a private residence)and located in what i think was a staff area, however not a problem for me extremely quiet and spotlessly clean..comfy bed and satalite tv and a fridge. Breakfast was a treat always a hot option plus all usual cold offerings all beautifully presented.highlight was the warm from oven portuguese custard tarts and the beautifully presented orange slices along with other fresh fruits and warm fresh bread buns... pool area was clean and well maintained. Bit cold for me to use in february but lovely area to sit. would recommend this hotel as very central. Pleasant easy walk to harbour and beach..

Alvor is one of those places where you can walk for miles without realising it, as it's so beautiful. There's always somewhere to stop off for a coffee, drink or meal whilst destressing just watching the sea or inland, people watching but off season, it's not a place to find much nightlife. Stayed here early February. 4th floor room with a full, if distant, view of the bay and estuary across the rooftops. As per other reviews, cutting across the carpark opposite and down to the right of the cemetery is a short cut to the main walkway with restaurants etc and down to waterside. Our room was lovely and bright with full width patio doors and glass balustrade on the terrace, so could still see the view lying in bed. Buildings opposite are lower level so no obstruction from 4th floor. A big, comfy bed, excellent bathroom with efficient walk in shower, fixed hairdryer plus a mini fridge and kettle. As per other reviews, no drawer space but lots of shelving and hanging so not a problem for us and the room safe was digital, set your own code and free. Breakfast was really good selection of continental, cereals, fresh fruit and cooked items and a coffee machine that did good 'cafe com leite', all served between 730 and 1030. Large car park at the rear of the hotel and a nice pool area, although as it was rainy, the furniture wasn't yet out for use. Good walk downhill to the left and past Intermarche takes you to the boardwalk at the 'highrise hotel end' of the 3km sandy beach, wear comfy shoes or trainers as the cobblestone paving generally in Portugal can be challenging for those with mobility issues (or anything but wedge heels) and can be slippery when wet, which it was whilst we were there. Loads of bars and restaurants in Alvor, something for everyone, although quite a few were still closed in early Feb, we stil ate lovely meals at reasonable cost. Overall, would definitely stay again.
