Trivelles Gatwick Hotel & airport Parking

Close to Gatwick. Room was big.

We used this hotel as it was close to where I would be leaving my car at Gatwick. I never write reviews and most things don't bother us, it was just a bed for the night, but this isn't a great hotel. Room was big, but there was rubbish in the cupboard from another guest. Iron stains on the floor and generally just not a great room to stay in. Floor in bathroom was dodgy and not great to stand on. Not the hotels fault that there was a fault in the fire alarm system which meant it went off at 1am, but being evacuated at this time wasn't great. The first staff member you speak to (at around 7:30pm) also had a massive food or drink stain on his shirt as you meet him. Not a great look for the hotel. Didn't bother looking round the rest of the hotel, but really you get what you pay for.

Unfortunately no air con and had windows open but was noisy due to being above the reception and people leaving with suitcases.

Very clean and a warm greeting on arrival. Very convenient parking in the disabled area by the front door. Although didn't have a blue badge.

Having a microwave and fridge in the room was very useful.

Its close to gatwick airport, clean and has the basic amenities you would expect. The room was very large so it was easy to unpack/pack. Plenty of parking. If all you want is a basic room to stay in because you are getting a flight in the morning, this place will do nicely.

There were vending machines but they were out of order/unstocked. I suppose it would have been nice if we needed anything during the night.

The grounds

I asked a few questions about the area and EV charging, the receptionist was too busy playing with his phone. The bedroom light bulbs behind the bed on one side didn't work. The then top section behind the bed wasn't connected to the wall and I was concerned it was going to fall off. The road going to the hotel was very badly pothole.

We got a taxi from hotel to airport we were advised it would cost £23 but cost was £33 as we had to pay £10 waiting fee we were not advise of this either by the taxi company or hotel very misleading

No restaurant and our room was above reception, gravel driveway was noisy with suitcases being dragged along.

Cheaper than other options but that is reflected in the overall ambiance.

The shower in my room. was non functional: the temperature controller had broken and the shower ran too hot to use ( in fact dangerously hot). By the time I found this out it was late, and I was not going to get dressed and report this and do what, try to change rooms? And in the morning I was out before anyone was around. It was room 12A. I am sure that this has been reported before so the Hotel knows about it, yet they still use the room. This is not reasonable

Very light outside penetrating into bedrooms and noisy electric box inside room which didn't help if you are a light sleeper. Bedside lights very bright and in your eyes. Everything else was fine.

The staff are very helpful and always willing to assist my needs. The breakfast was very tasty and good amount I love the scrambled eggs the chef was is a good cook. The room was clean and spacious.

Nice, somewhat eccentric host, plenty of parking, as quiet as you can hope for next to a Gatwick runway. Really nice room but double bed a bit small for an elderly couple.

Check in policy. They charge £20 for what is considered “late” check-in, after 23.00 hours

Location was great. Lots of greenery too, in morning the kids were watching s load of bunnies through the window and at backstage they were watching geese. It's a lovely place for that and very convenient to get to from Crawley. The rooms themselves were mostly nice. The staff at breakfast was great despite having a bit of an issue with their fridge. He was bringing fruit to the table for our kids and was very friendly and helpful.

The staff on arrival was not great. Despite it not mentioning I'd on booking, he was asking for ID on check in which would have been problematic if I was attending alone. His discussion around breakfast was strange and vague. They had no price for children breakfast. I changed to not have the cooked breakfast and the price was the same. It was all a bit confusing. The rooms are okay but the bathroom door did not shut properly.

Bathroom door didn't shut well, room is a little small for 2, mould around the shower basin and a stain on the ceiling.

I didn’t like when contacted the property regarding my iPods pro and they assured they will look into it. I have left them in the room and could/ still can track them. Someone took them away and is now located not far from the hotel.

כשהגעתי הכל היה מלא בחרקים ועכבישים, יצאתי לקבלה ואמרו לי שאקבל זיכוי מלא עד 10 ימים. כמובן שלא היה שום פיצוי ושום זיכוי, אלא פשוט נעלמו. להתרחק מהמקום תקוע באמצע חור לא משתלם להגיע גם לא ללילה של קונקשן בין טיסות!!!!

Location is only really useful and value for money if you drive and use the parking which I didn't. No air con in the room, light from hallway came through under door making it hard to sleep, old building so you can hear everyone else

Location to the airport and nice staff. We had a family room. Was actually 2 rooms (separate areas) with proper beds. Which was nice

No hairdryer in the room but thats ok will remember to pack mine next time.

- Infestation of silverfish seen in the bathroom (including in the toilet roll!) and on the bedroom chair. God knows where else. - Booked 'small double' assuming this was the room size. No. The bed was so small, not even big enough for 2 pillows side by side. Not suitable for 2 adults. - Body wash and shampoo provided, but no hand soap for washing hands. - Window would not open. - Only saw staff as we arrived, never in the morning. So could not relay our concerns. - Husband asked for 2nd key card so he could pop out for a vape and I could have the electric in the room. Was advised the key card not needed for electric. He went out and after 30 seconds I was left in the dark until he came back. - We could not use the kettle as it was full of crusty limescale. - Door to corridor not fire complaint. Half an inch gap right across the bottom which would allow fire or smoke in (not to mention the light at night!) - I don't want to think what the crispy dirt on the TV remote is! I could go on...but you get the Gist. Cheap, but not cheerful. No frills is fine, but this was rotten. Great location, though. So a real shame.

Check-In durch Manager war nicht angenehm. Hat uns Vorwürfe gemacht, dass wir ein Kleinkind dabeihaben, aber ich hatte dies bei Booking.com angegeben. Da wir getrennt unterwegs sein würden und ich erst gegen Mitternacht wieder da sein würde, bat ich um eine 2.Schlüsselkarte für das Zimmer. Jedoch lehnte der Manager ab mit der Begründung, es gebe hier grundsätzlich nur eine Schlüsselkarte pro Zimmer. Sehr unhöflich, da das Programmieren sicherlich kein so großer Aufwand wäre. Außerdem gab er uns ein Zimmer mit Fenstern zum Müllplatz. Es stank leider bereits beim Reinkommen ins Zimmer und es war heiß. Deshalb baten wir um ein anderes Zimmer. Dieses Mal war eine Kollegin an der Rezeption. Sie schickte mich zurück auf das Zimmer mit der Aufforderung dort zu warten bis der Manager zu uns käme. Wir warteten über eine Stunde und nichts ist passiert. Dann ging ich noch einmal zur Rezeption und da saß wieder der Manager und wunderte sich über mein Anliegen. Dann gab er uns ein anderes Zimmer. Dort war zwar kein Müllgestank aber es war extrem heiß und die Fenster waren defekt. Man konnte sie nicht gut öffnen aber auch nicht verschließen. Im Erdgeschoss quasi eine Einladung für Einbrecher. Außerdem ist ist das ganze Haus extrem hellhörig. Man hört jeden Schritt, jede Tür, alles. Der einzige Lichtblick war das Frühstückspersonal. Sehr freundlich, sowohl der ältere Herr als auch der Koch. Ich würde trotzdem nicht noch einmal hier übernachten.

They refused to help when I needed to change the dates of my stay, I was stranded past their 11pm close time and had to find alternative accommodation and paid upfront for this, they then charged me anyway and refused to change my reservation date to one I knew I had in a months time. I have been staying at this hotel for 2 years and recommended it to others but I will refuse to stay here from now on. There is a much cheaper hotel with lots of parking at Russ Hill.

An absolutely amazing stay. I was made to feel very welcome right away. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and made to feel at home by Nasir. During my stay, I had the pleasure of meeting Jack, Joe, and Zena, who were all so lovely and made my trip even more enjoyable. The room was comfortable, spacious, and great value for money. A 10/10 great visit

You need to ask for stuff before they are provided. Shower Gels need to be made available and the container fixed and refillable. Instead of the disposable small tubs.
