Little paradise Homestay

The room was clean and cozy. We had a little private terrace with a nice view into the garden and the mountains behind. The host were really forthcoming in suggesting trips and providing tuk tuk rides. The train we booked was canceled and the hosts organized an alternative ride immediately. We loved our stay in Ella.

Zeer sfeervolle, ruime en schone kamer met gezellig balkon. De gastvrouw/ gastgezin zijn super vriendelijk en warmhartig. De locatie is ook fijn, binnen 5 minuten lopen sta je in het centrum. We zijn hier twee nachten geweest en raden het dan ook van harte aan!

Tout était parfait, l’emplacement central mais au calme, la chambre avec un magnifique balcon, le petit déjeuner délicieux et très copieux, sans oublier l’extrême gentillesse des hôtes ! Allez-y les yeux fermés !

Little Paradise Homestay is ideally located in Ella, just a two-minute walk from the main street and all the shops and restaurants. It is run by a very friendly family who look after their guests and are available at any time. The room was modern, lovely, spacious, and well-equipped—featuring a fridge, kettle, complimentary tea and coffee, and excellent Wi-Fi, as well as a large, modern bathroom with hot water and good water pressure. A large glass door opens onto a spacious balcony with a mountain view, complete with a wooden table and chairs for enjoying the outdoor space. To top it all off, the breakfast was delicious and hearty; this homestay truly lives up to its name! It was the highlight of my four-week trip to Sri Lanka. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

La limpieza impecable de la habitación, super limpia y bien amueblada, incluso con una pequeña nevera. El detalle de la botella de agua y el hervidor de agua con tés y café soluble. La amabilidad de los anfitriones y la disponibilidad y rapidez para ayudar con cualquier cosa. También el desayuno estaba riquísimo y era muy abundante. Está a la distancia perfecta del centro, no se escucha el jaleo y aun asi muy cerca para ir caminando.

Hay una subidita (3 min walk) para llegar hasta el hotel que caminamos arriba y abajo en varias ocasiones, no es agradable si no te gusta caminar pero si factible. Tanto los coches como los tuk tuk llegan con facilidad, aunque no delante puerta, a pocos metros de ella. Ibamos con una maleta enorme y no fue un problema.

La struttura ottima, il personale disponibile e il servizio lavanderia utilissimo, abbiamo riavuto tutto lavato e asciugato per la sera stessa.

Everything was great

This is a lovely homestay just on the edge of Ella. Its very quiet but close enough to walk into the town easily to all the shops and restaurants. Its also walking distance to the start of the trails for 9 arches and little Adams peak. The family are lovely and make an amazing breakfast. They liked the fact that we like spicy local food and made us a chicken curry for breakfast and gave my husband chillies to make his food spicier. The room was large with a big balcony and a fridge for keeping our drinks cold.

A Sri Lankai tartózkodásunk kedvenc helyszíne volt Ella, amihez szállásadóink kedvessége és segítőkészsége is sokat hozzáadott. A szállás nagyon korrekt és tiszta volt, a reggeli nagyon bőséges és finom. A háziak segítettek megtervezni a programjainkat és saját tuk-tuk-kal el is szállítottak minket mindenhova. Mindenkinek jó szívvel ajánljuk! 🙂

Superb. Very helpful family, who can organise taxis, Tuk tuks and day trips. Wonderful breakfast on the balcony. The guesthouse is close to town but away from all the noise. Large room and amazing shower.

Wir hatten ein kleines Privates Zimmer mit wunderschöner Aussicht. Das Frühstück wurde jeden Morgen direkt auf unserer Terrasse frisch serviert und war köstlich. Die Gastgeberin und ihre Familie waren sehr freundlich und gaben uns Tipps was wir unternehmen können.

The owners of the hotel were really nice to us and helped us plan our day in Ella. The breakfast was delicious and very generous. Sadly, we couldn’t eat everything! They even prepared fresh fruit juice for us.

Adorable family. Very clean rooms with nice views. Delicious breakfast. Just a 3 min walk from the main street so a quiet place and at the same time very close to the main street. The daughter speaks very well English and also some German. Also very competitive prices for tours and transport. Thank you for such a lovely and warm stay - this wouldn't have been possible in a hotel but only a homestay :)

so clean and tidy and amazing location and hospitality - honestly 10/10 all around. the hosts are so helpful with sorting out tours, activities, laundry etc. it’s the best home stay i’ve been in - such a lovely family.

Hele fijne plek bij een lieve familie. Wij hadden een kamer beneden, kamer heeft een ruime opzet en we hadden een eigen zitje voor de deur. Bed is echt ruim en de douche lekker warm. Het ontbijt is super uitgebreid en vers gemaakt. De familie is echt heel vriendelijk en helpt je bij alles wat je nodig hebt.

I had such a comfortable stay at Little Paradise. When I arrived I was welcomed friendly. They tried answering all my questions and thinking along with me. The room was very good. I felt like they had just modernized it and it had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Besides that I really loved the breakfast. I’m not exaggerating if I say that the roti was one of my favorites throughout Sri Lanka and also the Dahl was very good! Another plus is their laundry service. The location is perfect, since it’s close to the main road but still in a quiet area.

Les vistes impressionants, ens van deixar una habitació millor de la que haviem reservat perquè estava disponible, molt net i esmorzar molt abundant! Repetiriem segur!

De ligging is perfect en het personeel is heel erg vriendelijk. Het ontbijt was heerlijk en super royaal.

Hele lieve mensen hier, ze denken pro actief met je mee. Bv als je gaat wandelen, krijg je een zakje zout tegen de bloedzuigers. Schoon, netjes, ruim, goed eten, ze hebben een uitgebreid ontbijt en maken op verzoek heerlijke curry voor het avondeten! Een aanrader.. Ze doen goede suggesties voor activiteiten en ze hebben ook een auto een een tuktuk. Heel fijn.

Clean, great views and the showers were amazing!

This homestay exceeded my expectations. The room was very clean, comfortable and it was also massive! The view from the top floor was stunning and I enjoyed sitting on the balcony which had beanbags. Breakfast was delicious and very generous. The family is so friendly and were able to help with laundry service and booking a taxi for me. The driver Maduranga was excellent, very friendly and safe, and the car was very comfortable. Lovely location outside the hustle and bustle of town, but still walking distance to restaurants and trailheads for hikes. It is at the top of a hill but the road is accessible for tuk tuks and cars - and it's worth it for the view!

Large comfortable rooms with a fridge and nice balcony. The breakfasts each day were good value and plentiful and the family were very kind and helpful.

Amazing homestay! The breakfast was excellent and definitely worth it. The hosts were incredibly kind and patient, helping me a lot with organizing my bus. The room was spacious, very clean, had a beautiful view, and the bed was very comfortable. I also appreciated being able to do my laundry. Perfect location and I would definitely stay here again!

Very sweet homestay! The whole family is so kind, they give you great advice on things to see and do around Ella and make a delicious breakfast. Our room was very clean, with a huge comfy bed and a hot shower. They also have shower gel and shampoo and probably the best towels you'll find on the whole island.:) The steep hill that is mentioned in some reviews is really nothing to worry about, in fact, it's great not to be directly at the main road because you get a good view and it's way calmer.

Very kind staff. Got an upgraded room when we arrived. Got information about good restaurants in the area. The hotel offers breakfast that is relatively the same price as in other parts of town. The location is very central and just a few minutes walk to the Central Street of Ella.

Un vero piccolo paradiso A due passi dal centro, lontano dal frastuono. La salita per arrivarci spaventa un attimo ma è fattibilissima a piedi in un lampo. Camera super spaziosa e pulita con un balcone gigante con vista città. La proprietaria disponibilissima ad aiutarti nell’organizzare le attività nei dintorni, inoltre il marito ha la disponibilità di un Tuk Tuk e auto per gli spostamenti. Non abbiamo provato la cucina perché Ella è piana di bar e ristoranti

The rooms were big and spacious with lovely balcony to sit at. Nice view Ella rock. Lovely family/ staff. Helped with transport. Mozzie nets provided in great condition (not sure i saw a mozzie but nice to have) Breakfast nice but way too much foods. Great location ( but a steep hill if you have mobility issues) - 10 minute walk to town centre, 15 minute walk to little Adams peak entrance (on the way pass a track to 9 arch bridge- takes about 10 minutes)

In my room the stand fan sounded like a aeroplane (my.kids did not). Personally I prefer a ceiling fan so the Homestay could consider that.

The property is really nice. It has a really nice view of the mountains. The room was in great condition and very spacious. One of the best stays I had during my time in Sri Lanka. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. The location is also very good. It’s only 10 mins walking from the main area. It is away from all happenings, but still in close distance.

Its around 5-10 min walk up the hill. Be mindful regarding this before booking this stay. For me it was not a problem. It is also reachable by car and tuktuk.

Great breakfast and a helpful family! Able to arrange tours/taxis and even helped me get my bus on the last day. Would highly recommend this homestay if staying in Ella. Close to restaurants and bars.

Alles is zeer schoon en een mooie kamer. We lieten onze was doen, dit was ook heel proper en rook lekker. We konden iets langer blijven bij de check-out wat heel makkelijk was! Zeer vriendelijke ontvangst

Nice, clean and confortable place. The owners are really helpful. And the location in the heart of the village is perfect.

De locatie lag op loopafstand van het centrum van Ella op een korte steile heuvel, waardoor je wel in de rust zit. De kamer was erg groot evenals het balkon. Het balkon heeft tevens mooi uitzicht op Ella rock en fijne zitjes. Het ontbijt wat optioneel is bij te bestellen is erg uitgebreid en lekker. De was kan hier worden gedaan en de familie denkt met je mee als je vragen hebt of vervoer nodig hebt. De douche was de beste die we in Sri Lanka hebben gehad en de kamer was schoon.

Het bed was erg hard. Verder hebben we de familie niet veel gezien, ze zochten ons niet proactief op maar als wij een vraag hadden reageerden ze vrijwel direct en ze dachten in alle opzichten met ons mee.

Sehr freundliche Gastgeber, die sich bemühen, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen. Wir hatten ein SEHR großzügiges und sehr sauberes Zimmer mit einem tollen Blick auf Ella Rock von unserem Balkon. Die Lage fanden wir auch sehr gut: Etwas abseits am Hang gelegen aber man ist in wenigen Minuten den Berg runter mitten im Zentrum. Außergewöhnlich reichhaltig und lecker war das Frühstück und wir konnten uns das Essen, das wir nicht mehr geschafft haben, einpacken und mitnehmen.

Frühstück sehr reichhaltig und gut! Unterkunft extrem sauber und gut ausgestattet! Kann ich nun nur weiterempfehlen!!!

Wie waren 3 Nächte da. Das Zimmer war sehr groß mit einem tollen Balkon mit Blick auf den Ella Rock. Auch das Badezimmer war sehr groß. Es war alles sehr schön gemacht und sehr sauber. Die Familie war super nett und hilfsbereit. Wir mieteten einen Roller in der Unterkunft und für die Weiterfahrt wurde uns ein Fahrer organisiert. Dass Frühstück war klasse, typisch sri-lankisch mit frischem Obst, Saft, Kaffee usw.. es war so ausreichend dass wir uns jedes Mal den Rest einpacken ließen, für unsere Ausflüge. Wäsche waschen hat auch sehr gut funktioniert. Würden sofort wieder hier übernachten.

The room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed relaxing on the bean bags on the balcony. The place is located uphill a bit but we didn't find it difficult to go to and from town. We liked the location because it's a bit removed from the busy main street. The staff was always friendly and responsive. Overall we had a very good stay.

Paradise indeed! Amazing room and facilities, I especially loved the view from our big balcony. The host family is the sweetest and most welcoming – they all met us upon arrival to help carry the luggage up the street, and they also arranged taxi service for us both to and from Ella. They were also super responsive in our communication. And don’t get me started on the breakfast – I am still dreaming about it! All in all an amazing stay, I would without a doubt stay here again if I ever return to Ella.

We loved the family, wonderful mom and daughters, and dad helped as driver. Dinner and breakfast were amazing, coffee fab, all so generous and incredibly attentive to our likes/ filling our plates etc . Also just very happy and chilled vibe.

The family were great hosts and looked after us. The rooms are big and have spectacular views of Ella Rock

The staff kindness and support.

A lovely homestay, a warm welcome and a comfortable, clean room with all the handy things like a fridge and a kettle. The shower is awesome! It’s located just away from the Main Street, nestled in the hillside, I could watch chipmunks from the patio area.

We stayed in a few different spots in Ella and we booked Little Paradise our last night to be closer to town and we are so glad we did. The family is so lovely, the room was great and the shower was the absolute best we’ve had on the trip!! Hot shower with lots of water pressure. Breakfast was plentiful and the host even gave us takeout containers to bring the rest of our food on our drive with us. Quick walk to town, a bit uphill but that was totally fine with us. Would highly recommend booking this place!

Das Zimmer war sauber und ordentlich, die Terrasse hat mit schönen Ausblick überzeugt. Die Gastgeber waren freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Unterkunft ist am Hang und normalerweise mit dem Tuktuk zu erreichen. Das Frühstück ist üppig und gut gewesen.

Das Zimmer ist sehr kahl und wirkt nicht so gemütlich wie wir es bisher von anderen Unterkunften kennengelernt haben. Um das Haus herum haben viele Bauarbeiten stattgefunden und es war generell einfach morgens sehr laut.

Amazing hosts, basic but well thought of facilities which we didn't really expected in a homestay. Shaneela, her mom and other family members were very warm and accommodating. We wanted to have authentic Lankan dinner and they happily fed us with a small charge. Breakfast too was good. They have a small but well equipped kitchen which we used to cook baby food. We really had a great stay!

Der homestay wird von einer Familie betrieben, die wirklich sehr herzlich ist. Wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker mit allem was das Herz begehrt. Der Balkon und der Ausblick in die nächstgelegenen Berge war genial und das Zimmer mit dem tollen queensize Bett sehr gemütlich. Es war der perfekte Ort, um auszuruhen!

Shanali and her family treated me like a member of the family. They went above and beyond to make my stay exceptional. Everything here was perfect: comfortable, clean, delicious food, excellent service. Highly recommend.

My first Homestay in Sri Lanka, and it did not disappoint. Absolutely beautiful property, everything was so clean and new. It was like home away from home. The family that run the place have to be some of the nicest people I’ve met in Sri Lanka, they went above and beyond, nothing was too difficult. The breakfast so delicious and generous ❤️

What a wonderful stay! So far the best accommodation we had in Sri Lanka. The room (deluxe double) was super specious and clean, and the balcony with the view just phenomenal! Walking distance to all restaurants and cafes. The hosts were the most friendliest and accommodating people ever! They made sure we had everything we needed, made a fantastic and huge breakfast every morning. They even helped us out when we had a small tuktuk accident and organised someone to pick us up immediately. Would stay here again and can 100% recommend to anyone!!!

Nothing really. A bit hard to find/ pretty steep hill to get to the accommodation, but nothing that can’t be managed.

The location is out of town and very quiet. The family are very kind and helpful. The breakfast was very generous and, as I'd not been well they made me a special bland breakfast. From my patio I could see lots of beautiful birds and cheeky chipmunks tight rope walking along the wires. The shower was very sci fi with lots of hot water. Lovely clean and fresh sheets and towels and a fan if you feel hot.

The only small point for me was the lighting in the bedroom, it's a very pretty blue/pink light but I found it difficult to see.

Staying at Hotel Little Paradise truly felt like finding a hidden gem in Ella. The place is surrounded by lush greenery and peaceful views, making it the perfect spot to relax after exploring. The rooms are simple but cozy, and everything is kept very clean. What really made the stay special was the kindness of the staff – always welcoming, smiling, and ready to help with anything. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, enjoyed with a beautiful view. It really felt like home away from home, and we would love to return one day.
