Nice and comfortable rooms, with good view. Breakfast was amazing! The owner Janith was super nice and helpful, and got us a taxi to our next destination in a fair price.

Cercanía al centro, muy limpio, el personal muy amable y muy amplio. Además, vistas increíbles y el desayuno espectacular.

La cama era un poco dura.

Mooi uitzicht vanaf het ruime balkon. Ella is een supergezellig plaatsje, met veel vertier, bezienswaardigheden, goede restaurants en leuke café’s. We waren in The Journey en dat is een fraaie club.

Hygiëne kan beter. Melding van gemaakt bij de eigenaar. De weg er naartoe is een uitdaging. Er is weliswaar een shortcut, maar ook dat is een klim.

El entorno es genial, levantarse y desayunar con esas vistas no tiene precio. La habitación era grande, el baño también, todo muy cómodo. El personal también muy atento y los desayunos un escándalo! Además está cerca del centro, hay un atajo que ellos te muestran y se llega en 5 min.

Todo. La habitación es grande y la cama muy cómoda. A 3 min andando del centro (no os dejéis engañar por la llegada en coche porque hay un atajo para ir andando) Súper tranquilo. Desayunar en la terraza con vistas a la montaña es maravilloso y el personal es fantástico. Te ayuda en todo. Desayuno súper abundante.

Todo es perfecto. Sólo habría que mejorar la iluminación del baño.

The owner was very nice, helpful, and accommodating! ANYTHING we needed he helped with, he even communicated with my tuk tuk company to arrange pickup. The breakfast we were served was amazing, and could easily feed 4 people, even though it was only my wife and I. The view was amazing from our deck, we felt we were in the middle of nowhere with a view across all the mountains, yet there is a short cut into town through his families property, that made the entire experience so much better. A quick 5 minute stroll through the neighborhood and you pop out into the main drag with tons of restaurants and shops…etc. even his recommendations in town were perfect, we ate at both of them, and returned to one of them 3 times. We travel a lot, and rarely stay at home stays, but this experience has made us re think how we travel, and we can’t wait to return. The bed was also super comfortable with a full mosquito net, even though we never saw a bug or mosquito! Highly recommend from us, and we are very picky:)

Zeer verzorgde kamers, zalig bed. Zeer lekker en uitgebreid ontbijt, keuzemogelijkheid. Zeer vriendelijke uitbaters, helpen met alles en geven goede tips. Homestay is prima gelegen, dichtbij het centrum en toch zalig rustig. Ontbijten doe je met een prachtig uitzicht. Echt een aanrader!

Petit déjeuner exceptionnel, jolie vue sur la vallée, gentillesse de l'hôte, emplacement très proche du centre à pied.

Rideaux moyennement occultants, la salle de bain pourrait être plus fonctionnelle (support savon, paroi ou rideau de douche), un coffre fort serait un plus.

Family owner is super nice ! Really good breakfast. The place is well situated at only 5 min by feet (if you take the shortcut) to the restaurants of Ella town. We booked the budget room and got an upgrade to a larger room. We were the only customer.

It is a bit challenging to find the exact location but the owner helped us to arrive and came to pick us.

Upon arrival the enthusiastic owner welcomed us with a free upgrade to his best room. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was modern and big. Each morning you can choose between an english or sri lanka breakfast. We choose thr Sri Lanka breakfast which was very good and more than plenty. Overall one of the best of our trip. Would definitely recommend!

Janith the Owner was most helpful. Each morning he provided a delicious homemade breakfast at the time I needed, depending on my days activities. From freshly made omelettes and string hoppers with homemade coconut sambal. To hot toast with real butter and jam. And plates of gorgeous fresh fruits and hot coffee/tea. Enjoy breakfast on your balcony watching the local birds and monkeys. Short cut down to Ella town be perfect. What a great spot! The owners were lovely and prepared the best brekkie with great views. The beds were super comfortable and it’s also not far from the shops and restaurants!

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt in dieser Unterkunft in Ella! Die Lage ist ideal – sehr nah am Zentrum, sodass man Restaurants, Cafés und Sehenswürdigkeiten schnell erreichen kann. Trotzdem ist es dort angenehm ruhig und perfekt zum Entspannen. Der Ausblick auf die Berge ist einfach traumhaft und besonders morgens oder bei Sonnenuntergang wunderschön. Man kann die Natur und die Ruhe wirklich genießen. Auch der Vermieter war unglaublich freundlich, hilfsbereit und herzlich. Man hat sich direkt willkommen und wohlgefühlt. Wir können diese Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen und würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Heel vriendelijke gastheer. Ook het ontbijt was uitgebreid en verzorgd. Het ligt lekker rustig maar door de shortcut toch ook op 5min stappen van het centrum. Ook de kamer was proper en ruim. Aanrader!

We had a fantastic time at Cozy Homestay. The view completely blew us away when we arrived, and we instantly felt that we had chosen the perfect place to stay. Janith gave us such a warm welcome and helped us with every question and request we had, even though we were there during an important holiday. Whether it was recommendations for sights around Ella, arranging laundry service, or renting a scooter, he was always incredibly helpful, kind, and honest. Thanks to him, we could fully relax and simply enjoy our stay. We were also lucky enough to receive a complimentary upgrade and were absolutely amazed by the beautifully designed room. Lying in the comfortable bed while enjoying the breathtaking view of the green hills — or watching the occasional evening thunderstorm roll in — was simply unforgettable. We can truly recommend Cozy. While Ella itself has become quite lively and offers many opportunities for partying, this place still feels peaceful, quiet, and wonderfully cozy. But only a few walking minutes away from the busy town center.

Alles: ontbijt is het beste en meest uitgebreide en meest verse ooit, moeilijk om alles op te krijgen ook al wil je dit graag, Janith is een van de beste hostst ooit die met alles kan helpen, Guru staat steeds voor je klaar, uitzicht tussen de aapjes is prachtig. Wir können dieses Homestay uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Bei der Ankunft wurde und direkt mit dem Gepäck geholfen und uns ein Tee/Kaffee angeboten. Wir hatten großes Glück, denn wir erhielten ein kostenloses Zimmer-Upgrade Das Zimmer im OG selbst war sehr geräumig und tadellos sauber. Klimaanlage und WLAn funktionieten einwandfrei. Die Aussicht vom Balkon ist klasse. Das Sri Lankische Frühstück ist ein Traum. Das Homestay liegt etwas abseits der Hauptstraße und ist somit ruhig gelegen. Uns wurde ein Schleichweg gezeigt, welcher einen zu Fuß in 8-10 min. ins Zentrum bringt. Allerdings ist das ein Trampelpfad und teils Recht steil/matschig/rutschig Man sollte gut zu Fuß sein. Wer nicht zu faul ist, kann vom Homestay aus problemlos zu Fuß zur Nine Arch Bridge, zum Little Adam's Peak und zum Bahnhof gelangen. Alles gut ausgeschildert. Janith und seine Familie & Angestellte sind großartig. Wir wurden warmherzig empfangen. Janith organisierte uns eine Privat-Safari sowei den Transfer zu unserem nächsten Zielort. Komfortabler geht es nicht. Urlaubsmodus ab der ersten Minute. Wir möchten uns an dieser Stelle bei Janith und Team bedanken.

Amazing stay! The room was far beyond my expectations, with a beautiful view over nature. The host and his family were absolutely wonderful — so kind and attentive, always making sure everything was perfect without ever being intrusive. We had some really interesting conversations, and he was incredibly helpful throughout my stay. The breakfast was exceptional — truly delicious and a perfect start to the day. I highly recommend this place! It’s peaceful and surrounded by nature, yet still close to town — just a lovely 5-minute walk through a small forest path. Would definitely come back :)

Heel fijn ruim verblijf. Netjes schoongemaakt, goed onderhouden en van alle gemakken voorzien. Uitgebreid ontbijt op elk tijdstip dat je wilt. Locatie net uit de drukte maar binnen 5 minuten loopafstand van het centrum. Gastheer erg behulpzaam!

Excellent quiet location

Absolutely amazing property. The room was lovely, view amazing and daily breakfast delicious. The property is so quiet and peaceful while still being steps away from all the action of Ella. Host family were so welcoming. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Clean room and bed, the Sri Lankan breakfast was very good and fresh, the friendliest host with great advice and even arranged us a driver at a reasonable price. Located in a greener area with a nice view and within a very short walk from the center. Complementary bottled water and a welcome beer in the fridge. We loved our stay here!

If anything, the bed is a bit hard but that seems to be the case everywhere

Janith (the host) was so insanely helpful, couldn’t do more for us and was instantly available for any questions we had. Great location, quiet but still close to town. Room was very comfy, more than enough space and gorgeous view. Breakfast was also incredible, got to enjoy at any time we wanted and from right outside our room.

A quiet place with beautiful views of the mountains from the cosy terrace. The location is just a short walk (shortcut) away from the busy main road. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast is just incredible.

This stay was a highlight of our trip. We were blown away by our room, the view, the breakfasts (the breakfasts!!!), the location. Janith and his family were charming and exceptional hosts. Extremely communicative, accommodating and helpful, with lots of recommendations on what to see and where to eat around Ella :) Couldn't recommend this stay more. You won't regret booking cozy homestay.

Det enda som var mindre bra var att det luktade avlopp i badrummet så varje gång man var där inne så fick man en wooof av avlopp vilket blir av ett irritationsmoment.

Nice and cozy place in Ella, good location and very kind people. Nice breakfast experience, food and views are great. It maybe doesn't look like it on a map, but it's close enough to Ella town center taking a shortcut path.

L’hôte est super accueillant et prêt à rendre service. Il nous a trouvé un scooter à louer et en 5min il nous a été livré.De l’eau et des bières nous attendaient dans le réfrigérateur. Le petit déjeuner est très copieux. La chambre semble loin du centre ville lorsque l’on arrive en voiture mais un chemin rapide vous y amène en 5-10 min. Attention beaucoup de logements portent le même nom et notre chauffeur s’est trompé, bien vérifié l’adresse

Rien mis à part l’humidité régnant dans la chambre mais Ella étant humide c’est peut être normal…et il venait de pleuvoir la veille et l’avant veille de notre arrivée.

Room smelled a little bit damp

There are so many things we liked: exceptionally clean, comfortable beds and nice bed linens & towels. Hot water was hot! The room size was very comfortable. A special traditional local breakfast was prepared for us upon our request. Electric heaters were provided, we stayed in early February, and a cold spell occurred. Easy parking for our chauffeur. Walking distance to the royal garden. A light supper was available. Staff and owner went out of their way to satisfy our requests.

From the road to the hotel, there's a steep driveway. The hotel dining area could have been warmer during our dining experience in the evening. Morning coffee and tea could have been stronger.

Cozy Homestay in Ella was truly exceptional. The rooms were beautiful and spotless, and the family was incredibly kind and welcoming. The breakfast was generous and absolutely delicious – by far the best we had during our trip in Sri Lanka, and this was probably our favorite stay overall.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour ici. Localisation parfaite à 5min à pied de la rue principale mais au calme avec superbe vue sur la nature. Chambre spacieuse, climatisée et propre avec tout ce qu’il faut. Possible de faire une lessive. Super petit déjeuner très copieux et délicieux, installés sur la terrasse avec une très belle vue. Propriétaire très sympathique et vous aide si vous avez besoin de quoi que ce soit. Parking Tuktuk possible.

If you're staying at Ella, come here. You can receive the smiling face and hospitality of the host. The view from the terrace is beautiful. The room is pleasant with a spacious bed and sofa. We had a delicious and pleasant breakfast with fresh fruits, Sri Lankan meals, and Western food. The host gave us a lot of information for a comfortable trip and introduced us to a van that would comfortably take us to our next destination. The van driver was the best driver I ever met in Sri Lanka. I'll remember you for a long time, the kind host who was always smiling.

Die Lage ist sehr gut und der Ausblick von dem oberen Zimmer phantastisch. Das Frühstück ist vielseitig und sehr lecker.

Das Bad benötigt dringend eine Renovierung und ist eigentlich nicht angemessen. Toilettenspülung immer wieder defekt, sehr geringer Wasserdruck und schwierige Temperaturregelung (entweder viel zu heiß oder kalt). Auch der Teppichboden im Zimmer sollte dringend mal ausgetauscht werden. Insgesamt ist der Preis für den Zustand des Zimmers zu hoch - erst recht in Sri Lanka.

Lo que más nos gustó fue la ubicación, cerca del centro pero en un lugar muy tranquilo, tienen un shortcut para llegar andando en 5 minutos al centro. La familia que lo lleva es adorable, muy atentos, amables, hospitalarios... Nos dieron muy buenos consejos de sitios para ver y donde cenar. El sitio tiene unas vistas muy bonitas y el desayuno es muy generoso, riquísimo y variado.

Very central location, incredible view from the terrace and amazing breakfasts!

The owner, Janith, was very polite, friendly, and helpful. When I arrived at the hotel, I was a little stressed because my money had been stolen. The owner and his wife’s warm smiles immediately made me feel relaxed. Although I had booked a standard room, they kindly gave me a free upgrade to a larger room with an amazing view. I truly enjoyed my 2-day stay, especially spending time on the balcony. Thank you so much for your kindness!

Sehr freundliche, nette und zuvorkommende Familie. Die Frau wäscht deine Kleider gegen eine Gebühr innerhalb von einem Tag. Zimmer sind sehr modern und sauber. Frühstück war sensationell, auf jeden Fall das Sri Lanka Breakfast nehmen. Viele Früchte, einen Smoothie, Hoppers, Bananen-Schokoladerolle und Kaffee oder Tee. Der Besitzer hilft wie er kann und organisiert auch alles. Zu Fuss bist du in 10min im Zentrum und somit ist es in der Nacht sehr ruhig. Wir würden definitiv wieder kommen. Danke euch.

We had a homemade Sri Lankan breakfast, which was out of this world. The host and his family were delightful. The rooms were clean with amazing views. Make sure to ask the host about the “secret” path into Ella that really cuts down on the walk.

For people with difficulty walking, it might be a challenge to get to the rooms.

Kurz und knapp: Perfekt! - Sehr gute Lage, vom Zimmer aus eine sehr schöne Aussicht - Verdammt nette und super freundliche Gastgeberfamilie. Der Besitzer fuhr mich beim checkout kostenlos zum Bahnhof und war immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. - Mit einer Abkürzung ist man innerhalb 5 Minuten im Zentrum und wenn man in die andere Richtung geht, Nine Arche bridge und Little Adams Peak. Besser gehts nicht! - Frühstück sehr lecker und sehr sehr viel - Saubere, große und moderne Zimmer Kann ich ohne wenn und aber empfehlen! Danke für den Aufenthalt, habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt! Wünsche dir und deiner Familie nur das Beste!

Top locatie! Binnen een paar minuten ben je lopend in het centrum, maar bij het verblijf is het heerlijk rustig in groene omgeving. Het bed was fantastisch en alles was erg netjes. Después de haber estado en otros alojamientos algo antiguos en Sri Lanka, llegar a Cozy fue como un regalo: ¡nos hizo querer quedarnos más días! Todo fue perfecto: la decoración cuidada, la limpieza impecable y el trato del personal, simplemente maravilloso. Está a pocos minutos caminando del centro de Ella, por un pequeño atajo que te enseñan los propios dueños. Es el lugar ideal para alejarse del bullicio y reconectar con tranquilidad. No tenemos palabras para agradecer a esta hermosa familia, que nos ayudó desde el primer momento con un problema serio que tuvimos en el país. Nos acogieron con una calidez que nunca olvidaremos. El desayuno fue inmenso, el mejor que probamos en todo Sri Lanka: sabroso, abundante, con detalles deliciosos y un batido espectacular. La cama, comodísima. Gracias, gracias, gracias. ¡No los olvidaremos nunca!

The view is amazing! We really enjoyed that we had our own space with seating on the balcony. The room is spacious and the bed incredibly comfortable. The Sri Lankan breakfast is superb! Tasty and a great start of the day. Janith is a wonderful host who helps you out in any way that he can. I would recommend this to anyone coming to Ella!

Muffe lucht op de kamer (schimmel?), niet zo comfortabel bed.

Die Gastfamilie war sehr gastfreundlich, und hat unsere Erwartungen voll übertroffen. Der Hausherr "Janith" brachte uns morgens das üppige und sehr leckere, landestypische Frühstück und hat uns bei unseren Vorhaben in Ella sehr viel unterstützt. Er hat Tuk Tuk`s sowie Fahrer zu den Diyaluma Falls organisiert, und das zu fairen Preisen. Er war uns bei allen Fragen eine große Hilfe - wir waren zu viert bei der Familie untergebracht und sagen gerne auf diesem Weg noch einmal DANKE für Alles! Wir geben eine klare Weiterempfehlung!!!

Unser Zimmer war top, im Zimmer des anderen Paares hat das Bad etwas gerochen, was aber daran liegt, dass im Fenster noch kein Ventilator eingebaut war. Da Janith gerade am Umbauen ist, wird dieser Einbau sicherlich noch erfolgen.

Wat een super lieve en vriendelijke mensen!! Janith (de eigenaar) heeft alles voor de gasten over. Het ontbijt is heerlijk en met liefde gemaakt. Zelfs als je vroeg moet opstaan is er een mogelijkheid om een ontbijtje mee te krijgen voor onderweg! De locatie ligt top! Je bent binnen een paar minuten bij de hoofdstraat waar alle leuke restaurantjes zitten.

Dit was echt zo fijn! Het gezin is zo lief echt ze zorgde zo goed voor ons. Dit gezin is gewoon echt Sri Lanka! Zo LIEF GEWOON. En als top punt was ik mijn vest vergeten en ze hadden het op de post gedaan voor me en ik had het de volgende dag gewoon! Echt een dikke aanrader! Alles was perfect!!!! Ik kom zeker terug!!!

Janith and his family are wunderful people and welcomed us to their home with open arms. We had the room on top (I think this was the biggest, but oldest room they have) and we where really happy with it. Great breakfast and easy communication with the host :)

Shower water was not hot, if you wanted to set it hotter, there was nearly any water. Also bed mattress was hard.

Perfect! The room was huge, the balcony is very nice and the breakfast is perfect!! The location is only 5 min away from the center which is very convenient ☺️ We loved everything and the hosts were very friendly!

This has to be the best place to stay in Ella. Janith and his family are great people who looked after us so well. They helped us with tuktuks, taxis and did our laundry beautifully.
