Amazon Cabanas

super welcoming and helpful staff. They helped us organize the Safari and everything was perfect.

Nothing

The cabana was lovely and spacious, comfortable bed, good air con, big bathroom. Really peaceful stay surrounded by nature. The host was so friendly and accommodating. We had our laundry done for free, and very delicious Sri Lankan breakfast. He also gave us good recommendations for restaurants.

Super friendly host who happily organized everything for us, from the safari to our onward trip. The breakfast was amazing and the garden is absolutely incredible. Can only recommend this place!

Merci encore

Tout était très bien. Propriétaire très sympa. Chambre propre, eau chaude, petit dej bon

The host was incredibly friendly and helped us organise both our safari and transport for the next part of our journey. The cabanas are cool and comfortable, set within a beautiful garden full of wildlife we saw a mongoose and monitor lizards. Breakfast was relaxing, served out on the cabana terrace, which made for a lovely start to the day. The full-day safari that was organized for us was excellent. We were lucky enough to see a leopard, elephants, and a bear. Our host also woke up at 4 a.m. to see us off for the safari, which was above and beyond what we would normally expect The whole place had a good vibe.

Nice place with very welcoming hostst that eveb prepared breakfast for us to go for our early morning safari.

The outlook was beautiful and peaceful and we loved that land monitors, and mongooses came close by, as well as geckos and birds. The room was lovely and we enjoyed having a fridge there. The ceiling fan didn’t work but we didn’t need it as the air con worked very effectively. Breakfast was served to our patio table and it was very nice - first time I’d had Hopper and I like it! Host was helpful and organised a safari to Bundala Bird National Park and advised us the prices to expect for boat trips on the lake. There were shops and cafes nearby too which we could walk to. And of course it’s not far to Yala National park (where we were lucky enough to see 4 Leopards!)

De gastheer is enorm vriendelijk en spreekt heel goed Engels. Regelde voor ons een hele leuke Safari. De kamers zijn ruim en schoon.

Camera pulita . Personale gentilissimo.

Danke!

Przemiła obsługa. Domek czysty, łóżko duże i wygodne. Duża łazienka. Wszystko mi się podobało. Do tego przyjemny ogródek w którym można posiedzieć w ciszy i spokoju.

Nic

The cabanas are located in a large, beautiful garden close to a small river. It’s a very peaceful and relaxing place — perfect for unwinding and enjoying nature. However, the true value of this place is Mr. Chaminda, who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe and well taken care of. When he noticed that I didn’t go out for dinner, he kindly prepared a meal for me. The next morning, at 4 a.m., he served me tea and prepared a takeaway breakfast before my safari tour. The hospitality exceeded my expectations. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a warm and caring atmosphere.

Birds coming the table, walking around the village and seeing a lots of birds

Nothing

Sweet cottage with a lovely garden. Room was soacious and very clean. Owner helpt arrange an early morning safari. He made us a breakfast to go, lend us his binoculars made sure we didnt get overcharged. We enjoyed our stay at Tissa.

Lovely warm welcome, great dinner recommendation. The safari and packed breakfast were amazing. Thank you so much

I would 100% recommend this property if you are doing yala park. Gayan and Manori were amazing hosts, very friendly and helpful. They even recommended great restaurants in the area. Gayan provided a wonderful trip to yala park and even let us check in early and check out late to fit around our safari tour. He was great at spotting all the wildlife and also an amazing driver. In terms of the property it was very good value for money. It was very well kept, clean and with new facilities (ie bathroom). It’s a beautiful location with wildlife surrounding you. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone visiting Tissamarama.

We liked everything.

We greatly enjoyed our stay and safari. The cabins are set back in a lovely garden, but have all modern conveniences inside. The hosts run a very good safari tour and will go out of their way make sure all your needs are taken care of. Breakfast on the patio of the cabin was also a treat. Overall, a great choice.

Location for Yala safari. Owner made sure we had a breakfast packed for a very early departure (0430), and allowed us to quickly change and wash up before departing after our safari experience. Best deal I have ever had for a night’s stay. Very clean and roomy and comfortable!

This place is a real gem. The bungalow is spacious, modern, with cool air conditioning and a fridge. The surroundings are lush and you can sit and watch nature. It was paradise for us. The owners are lovely too, welcoming us with tea. We also booked a safari through them and it was great. They packed us a breakfast to go for the day. Restaurants are also close by. Highly recommend!

This was one of our best stays so far. The bungalows are in a beutiful garden, which feels like jungle. Its so calm and the host family is super friendly and helpful. The room was clean, nice AC and a good breakfast. We also can highly recommend doing the safari directly them!

Totally recommended! Great location, clean, cozy room (also has a fridge - not easy to find in Sri Lanka) and above all, kind, sweet and polite hosts!!!! The landlady woke up eraly in the morning (really early) before our safari just to prepare breakfast so that we have it with us!!! Totally worth staying in Amazon Cabanas!!

Everything was amazing

Fabulous! Everything was amazing, the room was extremely clean, the bed was super comfy and the hosts were very nice. The garden is super peaceful and quiet. The best place we stayed during our trip in Sri Lanka. Definitely recommended!

Nothing

Gayan and Manori are wonderful hosts who provided a delicious breakfast and facilitated an amazing safari. Their cabanas are spacious, clean and comfortable and are set in stunning tropical gardens just a short walk from the main street.

We could not have asked for a better Yala stay. The couple who own the property were so welcoming and the safari with the owner was perfect. He was an expert at spotting wildlife we had completely missed and knew how to stay away from the crowds of other jeeps in the park itself. He has 25 years of experience leading tours in Yala and you can really tell he has a deep knowledge of the park and the animals. The property itself is so peaceful with monkeys, peacocks and monitor lizards roaming the grounds. The cottages themselves are spotless and well cared for. Breakfast was also delicious.

Everything was perfect!

Perfect secluded natural gaarden with two very comfortable bungalows. Very quiet place

The homes are very specious, clean and with good air conditioning and even a fridge. The family very nice, they treat us very good

It is difficult to reach by foot to the restaurant areas, although close, it a dark road

Very clean and comfortable place, welcoming owners. Beautiful garden. Good for yala safari, very good restaurant in proximity. The owner offers safari at Yala park - we couldn't taka advantage, because we were already booked one with another company. The prepared us a breakfast to go in 4:30 in the morning and let us relax in the room after thе safari. Totally recommend the place.

Everything was fine! And many thanks to the wonderful hostess for breakfast and to her husband for the safari tour!

This is the best place we have stayed so far in Sri Lanka! The couple who own it are so friendly and helpful. They welcomed us with a delicious passionfruit juice which we could enjoy in the beautiful garden. It’s so peaceful here, and you can see peacocks and varan lizards roaming around. The cabana is really nice and comfortable. The bed is comfy and the AC works. The bathroom was very spacious and everything was clean. There is even a fridge in the room which was handy. We also did our safari through them and Gayan was an amazing and very knowledgeable guide! Breakfast is also great. If we ever return to Sri Lanka we will definitely come back here!

Two Huts in a lush Garden, very, very clean and relaxed. Run by a attentive and friendly Family. 🧡 Excellent Food, just at the corner of a little Jungle River . Way from the street, Serene and shanti. Nice hideway for couples. Offer Full day Safari at Yala, which we‘ve done twice. Never saw so many animals in Lanka. Highlight recommand. Give a Call, they pick you up. We will come back.

The house was comfortable and clean, with a nice terrace, in a beautiful garden. The host was very helpful, he arranged for us a transfer from Ella to the house, and took us for a safari tour to Yala park, where we could see leopard :) He offered a restaurant nearby, where we had a good dinner. We highly recommend!

The couple who owns the Cabanas and the safari tour will make sure you have a pleasant stay. Their friendliness and hospitality hits the top of the scale. The Cabanas are surrounded by a beautiful garden, located in a quiet neighborhood. We also booked the safari tour through them which was super value. Great breakfast pack and an enthusiastic guide.

We had an amazing stay at Amazon Cabanas. The hosts were so helpful, friendly and accommodating. We organised a safari with the owner Gayan as our guide, he was so passionate and excited about the animals and was extremely experienced. Such a peaceful and well maintained bungalow too, we wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfect location off the busy high street. Very quiet, beautiful gardens with plenty of wildlife, birds, peacocks, land monitors, chipmunks. Manori & Gayan were fantastic hosts and able to offer us private Safaris too at additional cost. Great breakfasts.

Cool and weak shower

Amazing hosts and beautiful property - hidden gem

The house is located in a beautiful garden. Close to the lake and the restaurant. The owners are very nice, they prepared a takeaway breakfast for us at 04:30 on safari. The cottage is spacious and clean. The water pressure in the shower is fine, and the water is warm (but only on sunny days) breakfast very good although it could be more varied

Nothing :)

Amazing couple who own it super helpful. Amazing breakfasts, great safari, lovely spot.

Nothing!

Run by a lovely couple, they even prepared some coffee at 4 am before our safari and gave us fruits from their garden trees. The place is in the middle of an amazing garden. Big bathroom, comfy bed, great gateway to Yala, good breakfast. You can walk to good restaurants nearby.

Beyond expectations! Lovely place close to the nature. The host was really kind, always helpful, even though we already booked a safari through our driver. The room is spacious and clean with air conditioner, and we also had hot water. After arriving, we sit out to our terrace and just watched the wild life (birds, squirrels, snakes ...) Thanks for everything, we loved it!

A warm and friendly couple runs this lovely property with a beautiful and well-maintained garden. The house is clean, comfortable, and inviting. The breakfast provided was abundant and delicious, truly exceeding expectations. Exceptional value for money—highly recommended!

The room is clean and the garden is very beautiful. You can sit in the terrace and enjoy the calm and animals ( peacock, monkey, etc). The owners are super helpful. They washed our clothes and drive us to the restaurants. The owner is also a super good driver to Yala. I think he is more experienced than many other drivers in the town. We saw many animals with his guide:)

None

Reality corresponds the photos, good choice for anyone going to safari.

Clean, comfortable cabin with beautiful gardens and wildlife. We had already booked a safari but later found out the host also conducts safaris.

Alles was prima in orde ,

The location, Friendly host and services very Clean

Electrical switches has to be changed to Squires water pressure has to be increased

Amazon Cabanas is a hidden gem. Our lodge was really lovely. It had a lovely big bathroom, very comfortable bed and a lovely veranda where we sat enjoying the incredible beauty and peacefulness of their gorgeous garden. The couple were delightful and super helpful and friendly. On our 2nd night we arrived back very tired from a full day safari at Yala National Park. The couple brought us a lovely tray of coffee and home made cake. It's been our favourite place to stay in Sri Lanka and would really highly recommend.

Really nothing. It was absolutely lovely!

Its run by the lovely couple who caters to your every need. From arranging tuk tuk to organising Safari with take away breakfast (thank you)! The place they have is a real oasis among those we visited so far, hidden away, quiet, calm and perfect to relax and rest after visiting Yala park. Cabanas are near the river and surrounded by garden which provides a little safari in front of your window: tens of birds, monitor lizards, mongooses and many others. Real gem. Try it!!!

The hosts that were so nice and helpful ! They welcomed us and we talked about a safair in Yala. They advised us to go to Block 1 and booked the jeep and driver for us!

Very clean accommodation and very nice owner.

The peacock singing or whatever sound he makes early in the morning 😵‍💫

Amazon cabanas is best place for me it's really great the staff was very friendly it's feel like my home

Everything is perfect

Boss is nice. Breakfast is rich.

location is a little bit far.

Amazon Cabanas is tucked away in the most peaceful garden. So many birds, squirrels, lizards and butterflies come to visit. A peacock family walk around all day. A nice walk to the main road for good restaurants with friendly staff. A little further walk is the lake. Tuk tuks are easy to find. We took a boat on the lake in the evening and saw bats, birds, fishermen and families swimming. having fun. The room was very good. Big, very clean, excellent bathroom and best of all the outside sitting area. Newly painted, the cabanas are very very nice. We had a delicious breakfast on our terrace every morning. The hosts are the most delightful people. Just gorgeous.

This is a very good place to stay.
