Really lovely place, easy parking, warm welcome, very comfortable and spacious room, great location and wonderful breakfast.

Other rooms doors were occasionally quite loud when left to bang shut, but this wasn’t a huge issue as it didn’t happen through the night.

Lovely attention to detail and helpfulness

There was so much to like: peace and quiet, excellent views from our room, spacious clean room, the most yummy brownies on arrival, caffiteire which was an added bonus (real coffee) along with teas. We didn't want breakfast as we were setting off early and ordered the oat and fruit pot. My goodness this was unbelievably good, huge helping and absolutely delicious.

Ariane and Jamie were the perfect hosts. Ariane was very welcoming and so kind, she couldn't have done more to make our stay any better than it was. Jamie worked hard into the evenings prepping the exquisite breakfast specials. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding and the area around was beautiful (to walk off the breakfast!!). Lots of lovely countryside pubs around the area, to enjoy dinner.

Such a wonderful time, with very kind and flexible staff who genuinely care. They supported us in having a lovely experience with my friends. The place is spotless, and you feel very welcome in this beautiful environment.

Breakfast can be a bit expensive, and options nearby are limited. To make your morning easier, plan ahead or consider having breakfast at the hotel.

The owner was so friendly and welcoming. The room was very nice and clean, and the bed was lovely and comfortable. Perfect location for exploring the areas of Dorchester, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. We didn't have breakfast as had other plans with family.

The property is situated in a peaceful, meticulously maintained setting. The owners are exceptionally warm and welcoming and with the proprietor being an accomplished chef, breakfast becomes an culinary highlight that elevates the entire experience.

This was a perfect place to stay to break our journey. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. A well lit bathroom was appreciated. Lovely to be able to have our dog with us as well. The breakfast was very tasty.

We were a little late checking in and they called us to verify our arrival and graciously met us to check us in. The breakfast was very good and we would love to stay there again.

Fabulous cottage set in beautiful countryside side. The owners are great and really do go out of their way to accommodate you. Bedrooms are spacious and have everything you need with super comfortable beds. Only a 10 minute drive to Dorchester, where you will find lots of bars and restaurants.

Cannot fault this place

The cottage is in a lovely quiet location, we had a beautiful view from our room window! Our room was perfectly clean, breakfast was good quality and staff were friendly and helpful! I have no faults! We are very glad we came across this little gem, as we were down south visiting friends so we will happily make this our place to stay in future! Thank you

We loved the location and how comfortable the rooms were. The views around the property are great as well. The owners are a wonderful couple, great to chat with, and they’ve really put their heart into everything there. We would have loved to stay longer! The rooms and bathrooms are a great size and the breakfast was excellent!

A portable fan in the room would be great.

Host was wonderful. I purchased some homemade schnapps - it was delicious! The bed was super comfy - I felt really safe considering I was alone. I also left an outfit in the wardrobe, and the owner was lovely and held it for me until I could collect. I also loved the very cold milk for my tea and coffee!

I didn't dislike anything really... it was a very hot day, so I wonder if maybe a fan could have been provided? thats about it!

The location is great, very peaceful and quiet. Hosts were very friendly and couldn't be more helpful if they tried. The room was a great size and had everything we needed and we were assured if it wasn't there, it would be upon request. A beautiful garden area to rest in.

Advertised as a restaurant but only for breakfast. However lots of places to eat within 3 miles so not a big thing. I arrived on motorbike and the car park is all loose stone so very uneasy underfoot, just something to consider of doing so. Otherwise, this place is amazing.

Beds were very comfortable and we slept well. Our bedroom was spacious and a pleasant temperature. The property was quiet and peaceful in a pretty village. Very good value for a short break.

The kettle was plastic, and didn’t pour very well. Cobwebs behind the TV (only discovered because I had to switch it on at the wall).

Beautiful country setting, welcoming staff and fabulous nights sleep. This was our third visit and love coming back every year.

Das Haus hat einen sehr schönen Garten, in dem sich mehrere Sitzgelegenheiten für Gäste befinden. Es liegt zwar an einer kleinen Straße aber davon haben wir nicht viel mitbekommen, da das Zimmer zur anderen Seite lag. Wir hatten ein kleines, sehr gemütliches Zimmer mit einem bequemen Doppelbett und einem angrenzenden Wannenbad. Von Gastgeberin Ariane wurden wir dehr herzlich empfangen. Das Frühstück am nächten Morgen konnte aus verschiedenen Angeboten ausgewählt werden, wurde frisch zubereitet und war sehr lecker. Wir haben uns wirklich wohl gefühlt.

Jamie and Ariane are super nice hosts. Friendly, welcoming lovely couple. Room is big and clean with a gorgeous view on some Lamas. Location is also quite convenient to visit the island of Portland, Waymouth and Dorchester. Jamie will also make your breakfast memorable, ask for the eggs! :)

Unfortunately the guest next door left the light on all night long and the fan was pretty noisy. Not really our host fault: to all guests, please remember to switch off your toilet lights!

La grande maison au toit de chaume et la chambre très calme, ouvrant sur la campagne. L'accueil est également excellent, et le petit déjeuner servi dans une belle salle (l'endroit était un restaurant) très bon; Un parking très pratique et de bons conseils pour diner le soir, pas loin du tout, en passant par la très belle campagne anglaise. Jamie and Ariane are wonderful hosts and passionate about ensuring their guests have an enjoyable stay. Yalbury Cottage is a beautiful accomodation, with outside space to relax in the country garden. The rooms are spacious and clean and with views out to peaceful countryside. Yummy breakfast too. Thank you for your friendly hospitality and we highly recommend everyone to visit!

The female owner was quite rude. Hurrying us through a very expensive breakfast because she ‘had other guests’ as well. The room wasn’t ready despite having asked and paid for early check in, to be told that I hadn’t informed them and having to dig out the email chain to prove it The room had dead flies in it

Breakfast was amazing - great choice and tasted fabulous. Owners were very friendly and welcoming. bed was comfortable and the room was large, bright and welcoming, with a great little tea/coffee tray .... and wonderful fudge brownies. Decent shower. Plenty of parking and a lovely location.

Wifi in bedroom was not great but managed wifi access in the dining room which was fine. Wall heater in bathroom didn't work.

A fabulous location with great safe parking. We loved sitting in your lovely garden enjoying the evening. Breakfast was wonderful too perfectly cooked and very tasty with loads of choice. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Unfortunately they no longer do evening meals but the local pub The Wise Man was only a short drive away with fabulous food.

It was an incredibly beautiful, peaceful and secluded stay. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, and had thought of small touches to make the experience memorable and easy. The room and breakfast were delightful. We could even see alpacas from our bedroom!

Ariane and Jamie are exceptional hosts. Don’t skip the breakfast - it’s seriously the best I’ve ever had. The room is spacious and thoroughly clean. It looks out to gardens and pastures with alpacas and sheep grazing. To top it off, it’s situated in a quiet quaint hamlet. We realised after driving around Dorchester that we had by chance chosen the best place in the area to stay. We hope to return one day and spend more time exploring this beautiful area.

Das Cottage liegt in einer wunderschönen Gegend und hat einen wunderschönen Garten, der Ausblick aus dem Zimmer war herrlich und die Besitzerin super freundlich. Es gab sogar Brownies aus der Küche kostenlos und das Zimmer war wirklich sehr groß und schön gemacht und eingerichtet. Parkplatz kostenlos direkt vor der Tür.

A lovely property in a little village in the heart of Dorset. The hosts are lovely, but our room was a little tired although perfectly acceptable. On the other hand the breakfast was outstanding - I had probably the best omelette I’ve ever eaten in a hotel or B&B anywhere..

Lovely location and friendly knowledgeable hosts. Ariana and Jamie work very well as a team and Jamie's breakfasts are absolutely second to none with local produce used whenever possible. Lovely garden and seating area.

The hostess was friendly and very accommodating, the cottage was beautiful and well maintained. We had everything we needed. Loved our stay there and the breakfast was exceptional!

At times you could hear neighbours through the wall in the evenings, but it didn't detract from the overall experience and did not disturb our sleep.

The location was lovely, quiet but still close enough to the town. Parking was great and easy to find. The garden area with seating was so pretty. The room was perfect and the attention to detail was excellent. Little things like a teapot and coffee pot in the room, a living plant and blackout blinds at the windows as well as curtains and tiebacks. All very tasteful. The hosts were on hand to meet us and also found out from a friend that the chef/owner has exceptional cuisine status. The breakfast was delicious and presented beautifully. For this price and location you cannot do any better - we'll be back for sure. Bravo!!!!

Generously sized room which was nice and clean and looked nice. Good layout. Dog friendly and they made a fuss of my dog. Good breakfast and situated in a lovely hamlet.

Yalbury Cottage is a delightful B&B, very close to the amenities in Dorchester but out in the country with beautiful views. Jamie and Ariane are very welcoming. The room I had was spacious and comfortable with a lovely view over fields. There is plenty of space and chairs in the cottage's garden to enjoy the tranquil setting. Fresh milk was available to accompany the room's tea and coffee supplies and a delicious home-made chocolate brownie was provided. The bathroom had a bath and a very efficient shower. Breakfast was outstanding in terms of the choice and quality. I am already hoping to return later in the year!

Everything was perfect! What a beautiful place and the rooms were so comfortable! We were greeted like friends and everything was taken care of so well all the time. It was an amazing experience and we would have wanted to stay longer but alas, the road calls.

Lovely cottage in a really nice quiet location. It had a really nice outside courtyard for eating / having a drink overlooking the countryside. The room was very spacious, comfy and clean. Came with tea / coffee facilities and some lovely home made brownies. The breakfast was really good in their nice dining area inside. All freshly cooked and nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was in a great location for exploring all along the coast. Would 100% recommend Yalbury Cottage for anyone visiting Dorset.

It was lovely to stay at Yalbury Cottage. It’s close to Thomas Hardy’s Cottage nestled in a beautiful hamlet. The rooms are clean and equipped with everything you might need. The sheep and lambs behind the cottage made our stay very special. There is a short drive to a near local pub. We had breakfast at the cottage and it was excellent.
