Lady, the receptionist, was very courteous, professional, and accommodating. In addition, the old male staff that delivered my food and printed material to my room was very kind and efficient! My only reason for the discomfort was that the air conditioning unit is old, needs to dialed to the maximum for a decent cool temperature, and makes terrible loud noise, making it hard for me to sleep.

Room is spacious. Furnishing is old and torn. Bath room and kitchen sink is filthy.. Did not empty my garbage bin for 4 days... Staff are simply amazing and attentive.

There is no decent cafe or restaurant nearby. The closet has an unpleasant smell. The saving grace is the attentive and gracious staff. The room maid is quite honest. We left a tip in the room during cleaning day (without a note though that it was for them), when we returned to the room, the money was still there! The deluxe twin room, though, is spacious. There are complimentary coffee and water daily. Also, they helped us with our laundry. Sadly, their massage service was not available during our stay.

The staff members are really nice, respectful and easy to talk to. The rooms are clean. They provided bottled water, toilet papers and dental kits daily. I just wish they provided shampoos and conditioners and soaps too. We got the Deluxe Family Room and we really enjoyed the ample space. We had 2 toilets with bidet and 2 showers. There was a microwave oven and fridge and kettle, and daily provision of coffee packets. I think they should add tea for people like me though. TV was just ok. The internet is slow though. The aircon smells like wet dog at first but it was ok after at least 30 mins. There’s a lot of stores and restaurants within walking distance. Transportation is easy. We used Grab a lot (it’s like Uber). But there are tricycles and jeepneys if you don’t mind having some adventures. It was actually great. Yes, we’ll probably use this facility again. It has good location and safe. Not perfect but comfortable enough.

This place is close to UP town centre and University. not much of amenities but they do have a gym in the building and clean as well. I will go back to this place.

This hotel provided us with the perfect stay. The staff are excellent; very professional and attentive. After the first night here I extended my stay for another 12 nights. I stayed in 3 other hotels in Manila before finding Studio 89; this hotel is the only one that did not have any hint of a musty odour. If you are sensitive to odour, this hotel is an excellent choice. It's also close to the University of the Philippines and to the UP Town Centre with many quality restaurants (especially Japanese foods).

There is a tricycle station right outside of the property which can take you anywhere around Katipunan, and even inside Ateneo.

Needed a quiet clean place to catch up on sleep after missing a bus that is only scheduled a couple of times a day. Instead of waiting at the bus depot breathing in fumes while waiting for the next one we checked in at Studio 89. It was very late at night and with only short notice the receptionist had us quickly checked in. Someone carried our bags for us and we got a peaceful sleep before checking out just as smoothly at 3:30am. Overall we thought an excellent experience at an inexpensive hotel. No frills but clean, quiet, with friendly efficient staff.

It was a great experience. The staff are very friendly and very accommodating.

Great value for money. I love the trees and open space around the property. The sunshine that streams through the room adds to the feeling of home.

What is good: Very clean and comfortable rooms. Aircon available. Decent WiFi. The room has a kitchenette with a kettle and a refrigerator. Very courteous staff and good room service. What could be better: It would be excellent to have a microwave oven and an Iron box. This is not a B&B option.

I didn't like that their soap and shampoo are not available. Their WiFi connection was not stable.

My mom and friends loved our stay. It's just that you have a crappy wifi connection. (Which can be improved)

Good location. 6-8 min walk to Katipunan MRT and UV Express stops and many restaurants. Gino's Pizza is just around the corner. Only issue is the foul smell when using the bidet sprayers in the bathrooms.

Staff were nice. Beds were comfy. Plenty of restaurants in the area. 5min walk to Katipunan LRT Station. Good value for price. However, if TV is inportant, look elsewhere. Other than a few local channels, there was only Nat Geo and it's rerunning the same show episodes every 4 hours daily.

The room was great and spacious. It has everything we needed for a short stay.

Fantastic deal for the price paid. Rooms were super clean and the staff was extremely friendly and happy to help with any questions or concerns. Room AC was very good.

Staff are so accomodating

When taking a shower, the water spills out of the glass door. Also, the faucet of the lavatory is oddly placed causing spill on the top and hand washing is a little of a challenge.

What a good hotel ! It deserves good recommendation because of their place, amenities and specially their staff.

Bed was good. I would have wanted comforters rather than thin bed sheets. Standard double bedroom is same price as a deluxe twin with 2 double beds so might get the deluxe twin next time. Hotel has 12 free parking spaces at the back. A big plus for me. Close to the busy Pop Up mall which gets busy on a Friday night. A really good place to stay in the Katipunan area.

Nice ambiance! Room spacious enough for two people. Lighting could be better, but it’s alright. The staff are all nice and courteous. Will definitely book again if I’m in the area!

This hotels is walking distance to katipunan LRT train station. Room is average. Shower room and toilet not cleaned well. Bed is firm with two pillows or one pillow each bed. They charge 50php per pillow per night. Staffs are polite.

Excellent service. I guess the only downside to it was that our second room had a leaking sink. But otherwise, it's all great value for money! :) Thank you!

I stayed in this property 3 different times within 2 weeks, and there's a reason why I kept coming back. A truly amazing price, but such a luxurious feel! The place was really clean, with really modern rooms. I stayed in the quadruple room, and it was perfect. The next two times I stayed in 2 doubles. My mother remarked that she'd want to choose ZEN next time we came to the Philippines. Although! If you're a foreigner in Manila, best trying to find somewhere closer to central Manila as it is a bit far (we wanted something specifically in Quezon city). We also had our own car (the carpark was great and safe, there is a security outside at all times), so if you have to find transport, you'll probably rely on passing tricycles :) Thankyou ZEN!
