Très bel hôtel face à la mer paradisiaque de Holbox. Les chambres sont spacieuses et la literie très confortable. Le personnel est adorable. Emplacement idéal car à 5’ à pied du centre de l’île. Un vrai petit coin de paradis !

We were thoroughly impressed with this hotel. Even with construction next door, it appeared the hotel did everything they could for you to avoid it. They have the best beach club on holbox. It is quiet, serene, and beautiful. This is not a huge resort…very much a boutique experience. Really good air conditioning in the room and great decor! One day, we got off of a boat from an excursion and I was so pleasantly surprised. Fernando saw us arriving and greeted us with fresh towels to enjoy the beach with! Truly the most hospitable staff! Laura also went out of her way daily to make sure everyone was happy! If you go to this hotel, make sure you get a spa treatment. It is right there in a secluded hut on the beach! Truly a perfect place!

Good gym, manager tried to rectify things but staff need to up their game and you will never change the small cramped spot on a busy stretch. Of beach which is noisy.

C’est dommage de ne pas communiquer davantage sur les événements de l’hôtel, nous avons su en last minute qu’une représentation traditionnelle avait lieu et nous l’avons malheureusement raté.. je crois bien qu’il n’y avait que 3-5 personnes sur place ce qui est tant dommage pour le performant que l’hôtel et ses clients > un petit post it ou communication WhatsApp aurait été apprécié!

Hemos tenido un pequeño incidente en el restaurante, que nos querían hacer pasar un plato de guacamole por un tartar de atun. La experiencia con el operador de turismo ofrecido por el hotel, experiencia nefasta, mejor buscar otro operador local. Mejor reservar sin desayuno, los menus cerrados de desayuno no son flexibles como sería de esperar en un hotel de vacaciones. Si quieres comer en el hotel tienes que esperar a que termine la excursion de personas externas, para que puedas acceder al mismo.

A very positive experience. I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. The room was beautiful with comfy pillows and super comfy bed. Very clean and spacious with lovely toiletries. My room did overlook the roadway which for some might be a little noisy but it did not bother me. I ate breakfast in the restaurant and was very nice. Lovely friendly staff and a beautiful setting overlooking the beach club. I used the facilities at the beach club and they were good. The staff always on hand for drinks and food. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is around 10 minutes walk from the main Holbox centre. There is a dog refuge centre close by where you can take a dog for a walk which was rewarding as a dog lover !!

I selfishly hate to give this one such a good review as we would love to keep it to ourselves lol. The room, the views, the beach and the location were all amazing. My only constructive criticism is the mattress quality - not your typical Marriott bed - I would expect more from a Marriott resort as my back killed me due to the poor mattress quality. Nonetheless- During our week in Holbox - we were made to feel very much at home at The Mystique. I can’t say enough about how peaceful it was (despite some construction next door). The real star of the show however is the staff - particularly at the beach club - from morning until close each person at the beach club/Fresco restaurant made us feel very special and went out of their way to ensure our experience was a magical one. Thank you to everyone at Mystique for making our trip a lifelong memory we will cherish!

Pool could do with daily cleaning - lots of iguana poo and leaves / sand and green algae formed during our stay so last day I didn’t let my child in the small kids pool Beach restaurant such a wasted opportunity- no vibe yet prime location for sunset Cocktails were very hit and miss Overly expensive for food so no one eats here We didn’t have breakfast - I recommend you don’t either and eat in town as so many great options Next door there is a huge building site development happening, we were lucky as our final day on check out they really got going with the heavy machinery and it was noise all day into the evening - no warning of this either from hotel which I think is poorly communicated to guests Also lots of maintenance happening such as painting and fixing broken things but this should be done out of season ideally overnight

This is a well-presented hotel in a convenient location. We stayed on a bed-and-breakfast basis; however, we would not recommend this option, as the food selection was limited and the service was disappointing. Staff appeared slow, inconsistent, and at times unmotivated, with several seeming unfriendly when assistance was requested. The beach club is relatively small, with sunbeds positioned very close together, and there were frequent interruptions from vendors throughout the day. The pool area is also compact and tends to be shaded, though it is well maintained and provides a pleasant place to cool down. It is important to note that there is currently significant construction noise. While this is mentioned in the terms, the extent of the disruption is considerable. Between approximately 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., it is difficult to remain in the room due to the level of noise. There are many excellent hotels on the island, and we found the customer service in the surrounding bars and restaurants to be notably better.

If you are a guest at this hotel, pay over $300 per night for a suite and 1. Spend over a hundred dollars at the beach bar on Thursday 2. Go back to the beach bar for breakfast and spend another 50 on Friday (which took over an hour btw) 3. Watch everyone around you bring food or buy food from beach vendors But if you bring two beers down from your room you will be told no outside food and drink allowed and shown a sign Do not come here if you expect to be treated as more than an ATM.

Good: - the beach beds & set up - the location to town - quiet beach location - the room & cleaning services - free mosquito repellent (when staff remembered to refill the dispenser)

Not so great: - understaffed at beach club, super slow service - husband tried to order beer at the bar (for speed) and the staff seemed so confused, was a whole process for the bar man to simply hand him the beer - more attention given to the day trippers who come to the beach club for lunch (my food took almost an hour because of this) - small portions and basic food, nothing memorable, expensive - no atmosphere in the beach club at sunset, and such a good opportunity for it

The hotel is beautiful, right on the beach, and has a beach club where you can truly enjoy your stay. The staff are very attentive, paying attention to every little detail and making your stay memorable. The rooms are clean and spacious. I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in Holbox.

From the welcome drinks at check in to the amazing room, this was a great experience ! The room was fantastic ! Beach had lots of chairs and good service. The pools were clean amd the breakfast was tasty . It’s a little further down the beach than the action but still walkable to the main strip. Is resort style living on Holbox Island !

We had a really memorable stay at Mystique Holbox and left feeling genuinely cared for. The entire team was warm, friendly, and incredibly patient while I practiced my Spanish — they made it fun instead of intimidating. As someone coming in very overworked from healthcare life, I truly needed a peaceful reset, and the staff created a kind, welcoming environment that made that possible. Rogerio, Lupita, and Fernando were standouts. Their attentiveness, warmth, and professionalism turned a good trip into a magical one. This trip was also an anniversary celebration with my partner, and they helped make it feel special with their thoughtful service and positive energy. The only feedback I’d share is that I had noted in advance that we were celebrating our anniversary, so a quieter or upgraded room placement would have been appreciated — especially with the construction happening. I’m a light sleeper, and a heads-up or alternative room option would have made an already great stay perfect. That said, the kindness and effort from the staff truly carried the experience. We felt welcomed, celebrated, and cared for, and we’re grateful to the team for making our anniversary trip memorable.

We stayed for a week here. The staff, location, food and cleanliness were all fantastic. Their lunch Mayan shrimp cocktail was absolutely outstanding. Our favourite dish for the whole weeks stay on the island. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Can’t wait to return. Thank you ♥️

Unfortunately, our experience at Mistique Hotel did not live up to its 5-star rating. Before arrival, we repeatedly tried to pay in advance through our the tour operator, but despite multiple follow-ups, no payment link was sent. We were then told to pay on arrival, which is unacceptable. The situation was still not resolved the following day, and I had to argue at reception, involve my travel agent, and personally send the payment link myself just to settle the bill. This was stressful and should never fall on the guest. Additionally, although our booking clearly included breakfast, this was not initially honoured, leading to yet another discussion before it was finally added. Breakfast itself was below average and definitely not 5-star quality. Waiting times were very long as it is not a buffet, which made mornings unnecessarily frustrating. There is also an active construction site next door, which was quite loud at times during the day. On a positive note, the room and beach are very nice, and dinner was good. Overall, while the property has potential, the experience does not match a 5-star hotel. Staff training, communication, and basic guest handling need significant improvement.

The location was great with the Beach Club set on the beach with comfortable loungers and waiter service. Massages were also available. The restaurant overlooked the sea. Had a lovely evening meal but ceiling fans would have made the air less humid and uncomfortable.

My main issue was the misleading description of the room Junior Suite with Ocean View. Described as a quadruple room, seating area and ocean view. The picture shows the seating area with one double bed and a stairwell. The assumption would therefore be that the second bed was above and for very light sleepers this was the reason of this choice. However there was no seating area, instead there were two double beds placed next to each other and not what we were wanting at all. We were then told that the seating area was the balcony.. sorry but no! At the top of the stairs were two loungers in a basic area with no features or lighting. There was no effort by staff to rectify the matter, I asked if we could have two separate rooms and was advised that I would have to cancel my booking online (and incur 100% cancellation charge and rebook the rooms or just book an additional room on line) otherwise it would be a Managerial matter yet the Manager never tried to contact us to assist us. The view should also be described as side ocean view but at least the picture is accurate. The next issue was the mediocre breakfast with just a choice of omelette, scrambled or fried eggs every day served with spicy sausages, hash browns and grilled tomatoes. There was no option of fresh fruit, yogurt or granola, although it seemed to be consumed by Managers having a breakfast meeting but not offered to guests. This was not a 5* breakfast.

Really poor hotel expense. After a few great nights at Villa Flamingos, we moved to the Mystique and what a change. Upon checking into the property, we were required to wait past 3pm to check in (their stated check-in) time. Once we finally got our room, we were presented with a room with 2 double beds, obviously not what we booked. I proceeded to return to the front desk, only for them to rudely indicate they couldn’t do anything but would talk to the “manager”. We never heard back so we settled into what we hoped would be a short-term room. Upon trying to go to the balcony the entire door handle fell off the door, Over the course of the stay, they continued to indicate the manager would follow-up, which didn’t happen until day 3 after asking repeated times, Jose (the manager) finally indicated he would review and my reservation and investigate this. The most glaring issue with the property though was that there was construction which for 3 out of the 4 days began at 8am and ended at 8pm. Our room was situated on the third floor overlooking this construction. We could not sleep for 3 entire days as we would be awakened with booming construction noises at all hours of the day and night. There was no indication that there was construction next door on the Marriott website for the hotel nor in any hotel confirmation notes, as a long time Marriott elite member, Marriott is usually very good about providing this kind of notice. When I confronted Jose on this issue, he acknowledged that the construction was loud and should start at 10 am but has no control over when they start. He also at this point admitted they were overbooked and had to in fact place other guests at nicer properties on the other side of the island. This was never offered to us, nor were any accommodations made. Clearly this property is run by poor staff and management with no consideration of the guests or elite members.

We wanted to love this place. We were left disappointed. To start with, we booked at a premium, a Deluxe Ocean Front Junior suite. It is a nicely appointed room on the second floor, good size, nice layout, tastefully decorated with comfortable king bed. We went out to the balcony and there is NO ocean view on our ocean front room, only the snack bar, see photo. We asked front desk to change us, we were told that wasn't possible because there was no one to clean our room. We literally cannot see the ocean from our ocean front room. We paid extra for Ocean Front and look at a snack bar. I can hear the ocean, but I cannot see it. We booked with the breakfast option. Save your money on that too. While it is convenient, the breakfast is just simply put, not good. With exception to the eggs, it is all packaged food. The options are minimal. To have fruit with your breakfast, you have to pay an additional 180pesos for a small plate of fruit. There are so many restaurants within very easy walking distance that you can get much nicer options for breakfast. The restaurant at the hotel next door is amazing. The amenities are limited. The pool is very small. Every other hotel I have ever stayed at has a water cooler at the bar or lobby to refill reusable water bottles, not here. There was not even water in the gym (which is very small). The advertising says there are 2 restaurants, this is false. There is the cafe at the beach which also serves as the bar. While there is a "bar" at the beach, it was never open or staffed and only had cleaning supplies within it. The seating area is tidy and cleaned each day but not much cleaning of the beach taking place and the seaweed piles up. While it is a very small hotel which actually appealed to us, it is noisy. The rooms are not well soundproofed and you can hear everything outside of your room or above as well. The air conditioner in the room was very loud and we elected to actually turn it off at night. There is construction going on just feet from the building and the noise is constant until after 6pm. The location is good and close to town where we walked daily to eat. The bed is comfortable. There is no ocean view in our ocean front room. Don't bother paying for the "upgrade" to Ocean Front.

The pictures oversell the property in terms of - location (it is not directly on the beach, only the hotel restaurant is, left to the hotel is a building site, view on the right is to an abandoned building site) - being well kept (it feels a bit run down and not well kept in shape) - no ‘love’ or warmth - cleanliness (the bathrooms have mold , the surfaces are okay cleaned but it could all benefit from a deep clean, balcony has stain on the floor, pillow cases too) Another disappointment was the check in. We booked a suite with a king bed and sofa and got two queen beds. in booking.com these are two categories and when we asked for the appropriate room we were told that they are full, maybe we can move the next day. We checked in at 3:30pm and saw other arrival cards waiting for other check ins. We insisted and after one hour waiting time, we got our room . Very frustrating process- we asked to speak to the manager and I would have expected that they would revert to us during our 5 day stay - but they didn’t. Overall for this price tag $350 a night you’d except a certain standard

Some of the furniture was either broken or poorly assembled (bedside table, under-bed drawer). The room floor was not swept for sand daily. We had to ask for housekeeping on 2 days.

We had 450 USD and 600 mexican peso STOLEN from the safety deposit box in our room, after the cleaning staff was in the room. We reached out to the general manager who ttied to help and was kind, but his inspection didn't find anything. We were left alone in the situtation without any solution or explenation, and didn't feel safe in the hotel after the incident.

Joli hôtel confortable. Les personnes de la réception sont très à l'écoute. La chambre est très jolie, calme (en dehors des travaux) et confortable. La plage est très agréable et joliment installée. La piscine est essentiellement fréquentée par les enfants. Elle est de petite taille. Le restaurant est correct. En dehors du centre mais on peut y aller en marchant.

Il y a des travaux de construction collés à l'hôtel donc il y a beaucoup de bruit toute la journée. Il serait nécessaire d'en informer les clients sur booking. Il serait agréable de mettre une couche de protection sur le sol des chambres, on a comme une sensation d'avoir du plâtre aux pieds. après le sunset, c'est l'invasion des moustiques. il est impossible de rester au restaurant et dehors dans la zone de l'hôtel. Je pense que le traitement est impossible car tout est préservé sur l'ile. Ca reste très désagréable. Bon courage au personnel !

The staff were very polite and helpful. However, the waiting time in the restaurant was extremely long. It could take 30-40 minutes just to get your food on the table. The property is very clean and well kept. The beach is very nice-no sargassum, and the ocean part is nice. It was neither too shallow nor too deep. Just perfect for adults and kids. I would suggest to improve menu choices. The breakfast was very modest, not much variety-almost no fruits, and 2 tiny slices of bacon with omelet. They had pizza in the menu but as it turned out they could not make pizza for some safety reason. So why to have it in the menu?! The food in the restaurant lacked flavor. We ended up only having breakfast in the restaurant, and had lunch and supper elsewhere for the last few days. The hotel has serious communication issues. They do not respond to your emails and phone calls. We booked our trip on Expedia and received a formal letter saying in case we have special event or preferences, we may contact the hotel. We had anniversary plans. We contacted the hotel twice through Expedia channel, and probably 3 times sent direct emails to the hotel. No response. When you call them, no one picks up the phone. I gave it 4 stars only because the staff (servers and reception) were very nice, and the hotel and beach were very clean. But it could be really rated as 3-3.5 stars just for the quality of food and wait time for food, also no reply to your emails or phone calls.

La habitación muy cómoda, muy limpia, moderna y bonita. El personal muy amable , ayudándonos con nuestras dudas y recomendandonos lugares para comer o visitar. Nos ayudaron reservando taxi al ferry. Un 10 para todo el personal desde la recepción, camareros del chill out como personal de limpieza.

Es cuestión de gustos pero pondría menos tipis en la zona de playa. No se usan todos y creo que fastidian un poco la vista, tampoco me gusto la música de ambiente en la misma zona, pero es una cuestión de gustos esto.

Excellent small boutique-ish hotel which is either really new, or very well maintained. One reaches Holbox from the toll road Cancun/Merida and then for the most part a 35 miles stretch of a non toll, yet good road to the little harbor town of Chiquila. In Chiquila you leave your car at one of the many parking places close to the ferry and you board one of these ferries which depart every 30 min. While the road to Chiquila was really good and easy, the last mile is one to pay good attention and slow down due to pot holes and for the last 150 yards you need to add a small silent prayer that the puddles are not way deeper then they look (car in front of us got pretty dented). HOWEVER once you get to Holbox you are in a different world; relaxed, beautiful sandy beach and perfect laid back vibe At the Mystique Holbox we had a bright very spacious room with an enormous balcony with direct sea view. Nice little pool (does not need to be big for this size hotel) and direct beach access with plenty of loungers, a good bar (shout out to Hector !) and towel service. Food choices for lunch is good, for breakfast could be better. For dinner we ate at other places, as the island has many restaurant options which can all be easily reached on foot (sandy roads :) ) Hotel offers room keys through a little bracelet around your wrist, so you never forget your key, as well as you can easily give your kid(s) a key as well without fear of them loosing they key either; nice touch. Would certainly come back at this hotel, but I do hope Holbox as a whole can maintain its laid back charm (and I also hope that access road in harbor Chiquila will be improved).

This Resort was beautiful, peaceful and the workers made us feel like family. The Resort is a great location, it is walking distance to the center of the island. The beach restaurant has good drinks and food. Request to have Hector as your waiter he is amazing!!

Everyone is EXTREMELY nice. The hotel and amenities are super clean and beautiful.

Our stay was extremely underwhelming. Service was subpar, guest beds were dirty, pool is very small and major construction next door. Upon departure I was offered a free stay by the GM but when writing to Marriott the GM denied this offer. Very disappointing. Much better options on this beautiful island.

We needed a gateway and chose Holbox that was highly recommended by Mexican friends, The property was nice overall but here are the reasons why they did not get a 5*: - The flow from the shower head was irregular and scarce. - The smell from the decomposed seaweed on the shore reached our room and was very unpleasant. - Because of that decomposed seaweed, we could not enjoy the sea. - The amount of mosquitoes prevented us from enjoying walks in the morning and after sunset. - We had lunch at the pool and were immediately surrounded by iguanas getting dangerously close to us. The staff knew but did little to scare them away.

We spent 3 fantastic days in the Mystique Holobx. The hotel is located right by isolated beach cleaned from algae. The room was quite big with immediate access to the beach. Hotel facilities are well maintained and the staff is extremely friendly and cooperative.

Right next to a construction site that was incredibly loud during the day. Ocean view room was partial. Cleanliness not great- the bed sheets, shams and luggage runner had stains, and the loft terrace was dirty- dust and bird or insect droppings. I had to flag down the housekeeping after they did my room to refill the liquid bath soap and call the front desk at night for bath tissue…

The room was clean and beautiful. Great location, not far from dinning and shopping. Staff was very friendly. Food was great and the beach was wonderful. Traveled as a family with two little ones and they loved it.

We arrived at Mystique Holbox yesterday and were extremely disappointed with our room. We had booked the Junior Deluxe Suite, which was advertised as having a large double bed and a balcony with a view. Instead, we were given a room with two small twin beds and a balcony that faces a wall, blocking all sunlight and offering no view whatsoever. I raised this issue with the staff, but they said there was nothing they could do and didn’t offer any kind of apology, compensation, or solution. To make matters worse, I had prepaid a 10% tip—something I now completely regret. We traveled across the world for what we hoped would be a 5-star romantic getaway in paradise—but instead, we’re sleeping in separate beds and staring at a wall. It’s honestly unacceptable and feels like a scam. Holbox itself is absolutely beautiful and well worth visiting, but take my advice: book your stay somewhere else.

We enjoyed our stay at the Mystique Holbox - but given price, we expected something a bit more. The room was fine. The service was fine. Everything was fine - but "just" fine. Best part was the restaurant - best lunch we had on the island. Easy walk from the heart of the town - close to bars and restaurants. Wanted to like this place more - but just nothing stuck out as special.

Nice property, clean and functional. Good aircon. The beach area is nice. Walking distance to the heart of town with its fun bars, restaurants and shops. On a decent stretch of beach, with a beautiful sunset, although some seaweed present. Staff are friendly.

The restaurant was so good. It had really good portions hector gave amazing service. He was kind and gave good suggestions. Amazing! Would go again! the food was really good and the environment was so welcoming weather was amazing same for the drinks!
