Reviewed Jun 13, 2026A place with a beautiful view and the opportunity to walk. Three kilometers to the city center but the hotel always found a way to take you to the train station with its bus. Many great temples around. The food is exceptionally good. Onsen with a nice view.
It is important to maintain this level of service.

Reviewed May 7, 2026Our spacious room (like a suite) had a balcony looking over the harbor and small island offshore. The onsen was great, with an indoor and outdoor component. The restaurant was large with full service dinner (including Kaiseki) and the breakfast buffet was expansive. Outdoor walking paths along the water are calming and a large grass area provides a park-like setting. There is a lounge open in the evenings for tea/coffee and drinks where we encountered a traveling Japanese family and had great conversation together.

Reviewed May 6, 2026私は、磯釣りが好きなので、5月４日に和歌山県串本で釣りをして、もう一泊して、和歌山県みなべ町で釣りをする予定だったので、紀伊田辺の亀の井ホテルさんを利用したんですが、フロントの方の接客も良かったし、夕食時の係りの方の接客も良かったし、翌朝が早いのでその旨を伝えても愛想良く対応してくれました。
夕食時の料理が、少し物足りなかったかなって思います。

Reviewed Nov 11, 2025זהו מלון שנמצא מחוץ לעיר טאנאבה על חוף הים. אנחנו היינו עם רכב ועל כן יכולנו בערב לנסוע לעיר כדי לאכול. אהבנו מאד את הנוף בבוקר, ארוחת בוקר מאד עשירה ומאד טעימה רק עם מקומיים. ועל כן הזדמנות נהדרת להתחבר לתרבות נופש המקומית. משם נסיעה קצרה להתחיל את קומנו קודו.

２泊3日させていただきましたが、夕食時スタッフ不足なのか料理提供が荒く、お皿を置く際に音が鳴り、見えてないのか刺身醤油の小鉢の上から、次の料理を提供され醤油がひっくり返りそのまま放置されました。(すみませんって言ったまま戻って来ず) 食事中のお皿も下げられ慌ただしく、楽しみにしていた夕飯が残念でした。

Reviewed May 19, 2025We stayed here one night before leaving for the Kumano Kodo trail. The staff were really lovely. A couple spoke great English but most didn't speak any. They graciously organised a vegetarian dinner for me, which I leaned I should have requested in advance (oops). It's a slightly older hotel and seems to cater to an older crowd. I was able to cover my tattoos to use the onsen, but it seemed like maybe this is allowed on a case by case basis? The room was clean and comfortable, and the dinner was a very elaborate traditional Japanese meal. We walked the 50 minutes from Kii-Tanabe station and it was a fine and easy walk. The views from the room were lovely.
There isn't a ton to do around the area beside walking along the water & out to the small island. It was fine for a chill night though!
