Provider-sourced guest reviews.
booked a suite for a 3 day break had an exceptional relaxed break, excellent room , friendly staff professional and extremely helpful , am in in the process of booking another stay. looking forward to returning.
Such a wholesome, warm, welcoming hotel. Spotlessly clean , good food and genuine staff Perfect stay for exploring Donegal.
Very comfortable stay when moved room. Sound proofing was really poor in my standard room for even a phone call made in next room. Helpful staff member moved me to an upgraded room with no fuss which was very nicely done. Large very comfortable bed. Breakfast staff were pleasant but stayed out of sight away from the breakfast dining area in the self service area and needed to be located after a few minutes for a reminder to bring the pot of tea. No issues after that. An easily resolved problem I imagine. . An easily sorted problem. to bring the pot of tea. Service improved noticeably after that.
Booked for a Friday night with my 3 daughters as we had an event to attend in Letterkenny the next morning. From start to finish, I couldnt have asked for better service. Communication beforehand was quick, pleasant and welcoming. Our family room was simply stunning....2 separate bedrooms, a bathroom and a DRESSING ROOM!!!! My kids were in their element! We ate it the bar and it was so tasty and reasonable. Highly recommend this place....every single member of staff were exceptional from reception to the restaurant/bar and even the wee cleaner the next morning..... so friendly and kind. Well done Dillons....we will definitely be back
Great location on Main Street. All staff are so friendly and nothing is a problem when asked. Great deals available.
Brilliant weekend myself and my wife had staff food and everything about the hotel was amazing will definitely be back soon
From the moment we entered the hotel we were made to feel welcome. The lady who checked us in explained everything and was so friendly. Our room was spotless, bed comfortable and lovely big white fluffy towels in the bathroom. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was top notch. All staff we encountered went above and beyond for us. A special mention to Stephen who works in the bar/restaurant. This young man is a true asset to the hotel. We will definitely be returning guests!! Well done all at Dillons!!
From walking through the door, until we left everything was 100% can’t give any higher score well done.
Such a homely location, full attention to customer service on all fronts yet retaining a relaxing atmosphere. Staff friendly and observant to customer needs. Special mention to Ciara from hospitality who remains d on-task at all times giving an excellent lead to her team. A good listener to customer requests and covers the room regardless of the level of business, a rare skill these days and deserves recognition. I am not taken to providing reviews but Dillon’s makes for a very relaxing break offering excellence throughout, food, bar, entertainment and bedrooms. I will return. Many thanks to all.
I’ve been in Dillon’s many times over the years for work, but this was actually my first time staying overnight, this time for a girls’ night away, and it exceeded expectations. The hotel is truly inviting from the moment you walk in the door - warm, welcoming and with a lovely atmosphere. The food was excellent. The menu was mouthwatering. I went for the chorizo chicken, which was absolutely delicious. Breakfast was just as good and a great start to the day, with really good coffee that’s definitely worth a mention. The staff really are a credit to the hotel. The reception team were so welcoming, and it was a lovely touch that they remembered my name. The bar staff were friendly and attentive, and it was great to see the manager as a visible presence, working alongside his teams rather than disappearing into the background. That always says a lot about how a place is run. The room was spotless and clearly well cared for, with everything needed for a comfortable night. The Rituals products in the bathroom were a really nice touch and made the stay feel that bit more special. Overall, a very comfortable stay with excellent food, great coffee, genuinely lovely staff and a relaxed atmosphere. A perfect choice for a girls’ night away, and I’d happily stay again the next time I’m in Letterkenny.
Location is spot on, in the main street central to the shops etc and the main shopping centre not far away. As soon as you walk through the hotel door you can feel all your tension melting away. Light, fresh and airy the colour scheme adds relaxation and the reception staff with their friendly smile and professionalism lends to this very welcoming hotel. The rooms are styled to carry the relaxed atmosphere on. Beautifully decorated and very clean. The beds are really comfortable and I had a fantastic night's sleep. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and bottled water provided. And the guest book had all the information you need during your stay. The bathroom was spotless, shower gel, shampoo etc provided and the largest softest bath towels were perfect. Chairs in the rooms were an added bonus. We had dinner in the hotel, and I can highly recommend the Steak Sandwich which came with pepper sauce and your choice of side order. And of course dessert followed with the lemon tart served with morelli ice cream, needless to say my plates were cleared by this very happy diner. The time from ordering to our dinner arriving was quick. Now I'm not a coffee drinker but the Cappuccino was amazing, I fully enjoyed my two cups. The entertainment was perfect. Loud enough to listen to but soft enough that you could chat normally without having to raise your voice. The restaurant and bar staff couldn't be any more attentive but also not 'in your face'. There was always someone near by if you needed anything. And the prices were very reasonable. After retiring to our rooms for the night I found the noise levels to be practically non existent. Yes you could hear the odd guest chatting as they passed the room. But it was quietly done. The rooms were warm and I was totally relaxed in the huge king size bed just reading and fully chilled out. After a fantastic night's sleep and showered and dressed we went down for breakfast. Again no fault from this guest. We were shown to our table, our tea /coffee order taken and informed of the breakfast layout. Variety of fruit juices, cereals, continental breakfast and the good old cooked breakfast. Absolutely spot on. The hot food was served on your plate. Everything cooked to perfection and the sausages were delicious. I'm not a great fan of sausages but these were beautiful. The whole breakfast was so nice oh and the croissants are so good. The staff here were kept on their toes clearing and setting up tables again. Efficiently without appearing rushed. Extra coffee/tea was no problem and served with a smile. This was my first time staying in Dillons and certainly won't be my last whenever I'm in the area. I apologise if you think this review is slightly long winded but to give a shorter review would have done Dillons and their staff an injustice. Book for yourself and see, I promise you won't be disappointed.
Comfortable convenient hotel stay in centre of town. Will definitely return here again for a handy night away.
Stayed here for work over 2 nights. Hotel is perfectly located in the Main Street with onsite parking located behind (€5 24hrs). The room was clean with everything needed for a comfortable stay. My only grumble would be it can be noisy if your neighbouring room has their TV on due to the build of the hotel I’m guessing, but maybe some sound insulation would help. Breakfast was good and the menu consisted of both continental and cooked, I had the poached eggs some toast which was bang on. Dinner on both nights was a good feed, especially the buffalo burger. Staff were all helpful and friendly from arrival to departure, Stephen on the bar was definitely good craic and delivered an exceptional service, and worth a shoutout. Overall a great stay will back.
We stayed at the hotel on the 28th & 29th of December and had such a lovely experience. The girls at reception were absolutely amazing — one in particular went above and beyond for us and truly made our stay so special. She was the nicest person and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was amazing: so spacious and spotlessly clean. Although there wasn’t a travel cot in the room initially, the lovely lady with blonde hair at reception came to the rescue once again and brought extra blankets so our baby would be cosy and comfortable in the cot. The service really stood out, and I’ve been recommending this hotel to everyone since. We can’t wait to return! Many thanks
We keep coming back as it's a great hotel in a central location. Car parking behind the hotel is a reasonable price (ticket at reception). Staff & service was excellent as was the food. We had a package that included dinner from a reduced menu & it was delicious. the room was a good size & beds were comfortable. We will be back.
We go shopping in Letterkenny several times a year and have recently chosen to stay over night. This was our 3rd time to pick Dillon's hotel. It's obviously very central being on the main street, with many cafes, restaurants and bars a few minutes walk and the large shops only a 5 min drive, but the reason we return is due to the relaxed atmosphere, and fantastic friendly and helpful staff, always professional and attentive throughout our stay. The rooms are nicely decorated, clean and very comfortable and competivtely priced. We stayed for two nights on this occasion and enjoyed the live music on both nights particularly on Friday evening. It was a very enjoyable stay and value for money too.
A few days break between Xmas and the New Year. Hotel is centrally located, within walking distance to a variety off shopping outlets. Food delicious and staff very attentive. Will return again.
Dillon’s is in the heart of letterkenny main st. Easy to access everything. From shopping to sight seeing. Just renovated. Brilliant staff in all areas. It’s spotless clean. Food is fab plenty of choice. We had great music all weekend while we were there celebrating at Christmas time.
Stayed overnight on a Saturday and although very busy was not noisy - lovely hotel - would not hesitate to stay again - friendly staff and great food
Fab hotel and staff so friendly.Rooms so clean . Food delicious. Caitlin the receptionist organised an early breakfast for me due to work schedule.A gem of a place.
Hotel was clean, comfortable and very accessible to the town, staff were really friendly I would highly recommend.
We recently held our son’s christening in Dillons Hotel, and everything was wonderful. The venue was beautiful, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive especially the manager Sarah Louise. The food was absolutely lovely. They all made the day feel so special and stress-free. Highly recommend for any family celebration!
We were guests Atholl and were assured by another guest because we asked them to stop vaping. My husband was hit and I was 2
Just back from Dillons Turkey and Tinsel weekend. There was 3 of us,(pre xmas girlie weekend) and to say it was a fabulous weekend is an understatement. From the minute we arrived until we left everything was perfect👌The prosecco reception,4 course meal, music and the wee game of bingo and tombola was a fun extra 😊,good craic, great atmosphere, fabulous food, lively music and all the staff were fabulous.Dillons is my favourite hotel anyway but i would highly recommend their xmas party nights,we will definately be booking again next year .Well done Dillons Hotel and thanks to All the staff for a fantastic weekend Teresa Masteron
This is the perfect central hotel. I booked a double and two singles for three people. We had an almost apt. Was so spacious. It was fantastic. We had a room with twin beds. A room with a double bed and a walk in wardrobe. A separate bathroom and a little hallway between the two rooms. We ate in the grill bar and the food was very good. Breakfast was lovely also. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Would definitely recommend
Absolutely fantastic hotel. The staff are so helpful and brilliant at their job not a fault could I find well done can't wait to go back
Two couples, went for 2 nights on their over 50s package deal Wednesday to Friday (halloween) in 2 rooms. Hotel right in town centre, clean tidy and nice atmosphere and staff were outstanding...friendly, courteous and nothing was too much trouble. We loved our stay and will be back. Price for our package was excellent value and food was really good too. Letterkenny has many hotels we have stayed in and the staff made this stay for us the standout bonus!
Stayed here overnight as we were going to a show nearby. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Reception staff couldn't have been nicer. Breakfast was excellent and well presented. Overall I would definitely rate this hotel as first class and would recommend it.
Great area! So friendly and waking to everything!
Great breakfast and Dinner food. Very nice and friendly staff. Central location in the town with good car park. . Very enjoyable stay.
Stayed here for 2 nights as part of Leger Tour of Ireland. Rooms are spacious and very clean with tea & coffee making facilities included. Staff are polite and helpful. We liked the location, cheap drinks from the bar and friendliness of the Hotel. Breakfast was ample on both mornings. We had to wait a little longer for starters to arrive on the first night but once the 3 courses were served we thoroughly enjoyed everything. I have to point out that we were very impressed with the young servers in the restaurant. everything was organised and you could tell that they were well trained and could cope with managing 5 tables plus during a busy service. The location is in the main street of Letterkenny. We tried to look for entertainment in the local bars after dinner but sadly were told only Monday, Wednesday Friday & Saturday are good nights t catch any Irish music. Another plus is the Ritual toiletries you get provided in the bathrooms. Would definitely stay here again.
Great location and very comfortable. Right in the middle of a lot of unique shops and pubs. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was really good as well. Would definitely stay there again.
This hotel needs to be updated. Everything about it seems archaic. As others have said, the rooms get very warm on summer days, even when it's cool outside. They did provide a fan, but fans don't lower the temperature in the room. The restaurant is average at best. The decor is dated. The workers were all nice, but don't go there expecting very much. The parking garage has no elevator? Teens were creating mischief on a Friday afternoon in 1 of the parking garage stairways.
Stayed here in August whilst at the summer sessions concerts. Very nice hotel indeed. Rooms looked very new, they’re spacious and very clean. Beds comfy too. Would not hesitate to come back again !
The staff so friendly and welcoming, A homely and relaxing atmosphere Food excellent. Great parking, and central to everything.
My mother (81 yrs) and my sister and I had 2 wonderful nights at Dillons hotel. The dinner in the evening was tasty, varied, plentiful and delicious. The wine and cocktails even better. As for value for money it couldn’t be matched. The breakfast too was delicious and plentiful. The staff were helpful and friendly and even made up cocktails for us that were not on the drinks list. We will definitely go back and have been recommending Dillons to our friends and family since we came home.
Really enjoyed our stay, excellent helpful friendly staff. Very clean throughout. We ate in the bar and the food was delicious. Good breakfast with plenty of variety. Will return.
had a fantastic Bank holiday weekend in dillons Hotel staff were fantastic and very friendly and food was delicious will be back.. thankyou
Staff very friendly. Made u feel welcome Food was very good. Great Hotel
Lovely hotel Staff friendly Room location wasn’t great close to house keeping store so was extremely noisy we didn’t sleep great
Once again excellent , decided to eat here again as the last time was superb. We were all Over the moon , I went for the special as did my wife, a big platter of barbecue, great feed! My wife went for the special curry( which i tried also) she couldn't stop eating it, it was so fresh and flavourful. The kids ate from the kids menu which is not all fried foods, refreshing. Couldn't manage dessert but did have lovely after dinner cocktails . The service was on point, very professional yet homely vibes. We will be back again, thanks for the experience, we may have found our new local go to
Lovely hotel based in the middle of the town Centre. Excellent that parking was included so we could come and go as we wished. Room was newly decorated beautiful new bathroom and shower lovely. The staff were great at reception, breakfast and the bar. We had dinner at hotel one evening very nice and well priced meals with plenty of choice. The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that you have to queue up and ask for breakfast items like in the canteen. But in saying that the quality of breakfast items was great. This hotel was a central location for day trips to Malin. Arranmore and Omagh. The cocktails were great too.
Great hotel friendly staff and good location
Very happy with our stay will definitely be back for another stay
Having stayed at Dillons Hotel a number of times we can highly recommend it .The staff are excellent, friendly and really do make you feel very welcome .The food and service in the hotel is first class, we have already booked our next stay
This hotel was excellent from the minute we went through the door. Lovely friendly reception staff. Our room was for 4 people it was 2 adjoining rooms that were beautiful. Lovely walk in closet. Everything we needed. Bar food was amazing and we were looked after by a lovely waitress called Clodagh. Will definitely be back had a great time.
Amazing service. Caitlin was very welcoming and helpful. Can’t fault any of the staff
Excellent experience.. Very pleasant reception. Bedrooms perfect. Staff excellent. Breakfast choice and quality excellent. Convenient carport.
We had a 3night stay (27th - 30th June) and it was fantastic. A lovely homely hotel. Exactly what you expect from McKeever Group. We are lucky to be only only 15mins from 3 McKeever Hotels, but we would dine more so than stay in these. The room was absolutely spotless, bed was very comfy too. We opted to be a "green room", so we didn't have housekeeping each day, however, on the second day when returning after breakfast a lovely housekeeper still offered to replenish the tea and coffee etc. We ate 2 of the 3 nights in the Grill Room and the food was amazing. Breakfast was also good. A small, but ample continental selection, with the option to choose cooked items, all of which we couldn't fault. Any staff we interacted with were very friendly and pleasant, a credit to the hotel. Perfect stay, we will definitely return.
Dillons was way more than I expected for some reason. We knew as soon as we entered the lobby that it was going to be a nice stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good too. We didn't realize that we should have waited to be seated and they would have taken our orders for cooked to order items. (We had just come from two places that were strictly buffet.) It is in a good location for walking the town, lots of shops nearby. They have a very nice bar/lounge area and I had my very first Irish Coffee. I thought it only fitting that I have it IN Ireland. There is a parking garage right behind the building, very convenient!
Very disappointed with stay - room was very basic no hand towels Very very stuffy room where you could only open an inch Breast fast room was dull dark and dingy Fruit was sour Coffee was like tar Out of date yoghurt potato bread so over cooked it was difficult to cut
The staff is amazing. Always helpful and kind. Alway have a smile on when providing excellent customer service. This is my second time starting there. I will stay again when I am in the area.
We had a lovely stay got a upgrade to a beautiful big room, friendly staff and the breakfast was lovely
Really nice Hotel right on main street in Letterkenny, convenient from bus station. near everything, Very nice staff, fabulous twin room, good breakfast. I didn't have evening meal as arrived very late. Would recommend and not too expensive
Great food and very friendly staff! Lovely Hotel to stay in and would recommend it. Great location in the centre of the town with its easy access to all local amenities. Secure Car Park behind Hotel which is only €5 for an overnight stay or 24hrs parking.
No air-conditioning, to warm in room to sleep comfortably
Stayed here whilst motorcycle touring the wild Atlantic way, a lovely hotel in central Letterkenny. Ideal location for the local pubs and they also allowed us to park our motorcycles securely in the loading area of the hotel. If you are looking for a hotel with secure motorcycle parking and friendly staff this is the place to stay. The breakfast was excellent, the room was comfortable and the bed was amazing. But the best bit about it was the friendly staff who couldn’t have done more.
Twas nice
The hotel is located in the heart of Letterkenny, convenient for a number of bars and restaurants. The room and hotel itself were clean and quiet. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I would recommend a stay at Dillons
Excellent hotel. Staff professional, helpful and friendly. Facilities clean and all one could ask for. Only had the breakfast which was tasty and set me up for the rest of the day. Will have no hesitstion in recommending to family and friends.Have booked for another stay in May. Thank you.
This hotel is really special. It is all you'd want - scrupulously clean, with its own bar/grill restaurant and breakfast room downstairs. Lovely food. All this makes for a relaxed, comfortable visit, but the really stellar component is the staff. They are kind, superbly efficient, and charming.
Hello, We had a nights stay at Dillons hotel a few weeks back. We had 3 rooms booked all under my name, so we were in rooms 125, 210 and 206. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and the hotel very kindly left a small box of chocolates and a card for each birthday girl which was a lovely thing to do. On arrival the 2 girls that’s checked us in were absolutely brilliant, so pleasant and welcoming. Jack served us lunch in the bar, he was also very pleasant and welcoming, he got us all we needed. When arriving in to room 210 there were dirty towels on the floor by the wardrobe, I called down to reception and the receptionist was up very quickly to remove these. We did not eat in the hotel but came back after our dinner for drinks and the entertainment in the bar which was good fun. A few of the girls stayed on late, and this is one of the main reason for writing this email. The night porter was very very unpleasant, he was arrogant and rude. We were not being disruptive or rude, but felt the treatment and attitude we got from the night porter was a disgrace. On Sunday morning the shower in room 125 was not working, again phoned down the receptionist Ryan was straight up to help, unfortunately he was unable to fix it so we had to use a room down the corridor for a shower. Now i don’t blame Ryan for this as obviously it was out of his control but having to go to a different room for a shower really was not ideal and kind of put even more of a dampener on everything after how we were treated by the night porter. I also want it noted, every single member of staff, apart from the porter are a credit to your hotel and they were so lovely and welcoming. The hotel was spotless, the lunch we got was beautiful and the breakfast was also beautiful. I did send this review to the hotel first but after waiting 2 weeks I have had no reply.
Lovely hotel, rooms very comfortable and shower excellent. Breakfast was top class and great friendly staff. Central locatio
This is such a lovely hotel. Really central to everything. Rooms are spacious, beds comfortable and staff so nice. On me and my friends last stay we were recognised by the young bar man dominick he went to school we worked in. All the staff so friendly and nice but dominick was an exceptional bar person. Hotel very reasonably priced and well worth a visit.
Lovely lunch this Sunday, whole family catered for. Stand out gravy and yorkshire pudding on my faultless beef dinner! We all had an exceptional meal, didn't opt for the dessert as I was too full, not complaining . The selection of desserts I did see looked amazing. Great work Dillons crew, also Excellent value for money
Really enjoyable mid week stay. Staff were very welcoming and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. Location is excellent near all the local shops, pubs and restaurants. There seemed at times to be a shortage of staff which wasn't a major issue. At times the bar man was leaving the bar to serve food and on one morning there was only one member of staff doing breakfast. Having said that she did a brilliant job, I think she was called Natalia. Overall had a lovely stay and would ne hesitate to return in the future.
Excellent stay. Staff was professional, friendly and courteous. Facility and rooms were clean and tidy. Food and drink great. Will book again. Ps location and parking perfect for downtown.
Katelyn gave me the most friendly and professional welcome I have ever received when checking into a hotel. Thank you Katelyn for all your help and amazing customer service. I I would return again and again based on the impression she alone left on me.
Great staf, very impressed. We last stayed here 7 years ago and it has had a lovely meal over. The only issue we encountered…. Both mornings we were abruptly woken at 6.30 am with Road sweepers :)
Had a fabulous 4 nights at Dillons.Clean room with everything we could need & very comfortable beds.Great choice of food.Wonderful friendly & helpful staff with nothing too much trouble with a special big Thankyou to Ryan on reception. Will definitely be back.
The Hotel is excellent in every aspect from food to cleanliness. Lovely breakfast and plenty of it.rooms are excellent with top notch ensuite. Flat screen tv wall mounted. Plenty of heat in room at all times.Beautiful food in restaurant and bar.Top chefs reasonably priced. Good atmosphere in bar from professional bar and restaurant staff.Situated in central location perfect for sightseeing and touring.Real good place with friendly reception staff and managers, second to none . can't praise it enough, will be back.Brian Drogheda
staff went above and beyond as i would expect from a mckeever hotel. food and service was exceptional. the greeting from reception staff when we arrived was superb. nothing was to much trouble or hassle for the wonderful staff. would advise anyone to try this hotel right in centre of town of letterkenny.
Great location centre of town, all staff friendly and food is excellent. Rooms all modern. Booked again for March 2025. Car park next to hotel and get your car park ticket at hotel reception. Good pubs nearby and plenty to see. Loads of shops, restaurants and fast food outlets.
Brilliant staff at check in.
Great stay and staff were all lovely, would definitely go back.
Booked for a couple of days between Christmas and the New Year. Hotel is very central, clean, great food, friendly staff. What more could you ask for.
Excellent highly recommend to anyone. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Thank you so much for making our time away so special.
Yeah the room was pretty cold , no thermostat. Room was also pretty small but to be honest , the fact that there was a very nice bathroom made ip for it , kind of.
Lovely quaint hotel with friendly staff and great location
Staff were very friendly. Breakfast and dinner - food was good. Rooms were not cleaned on 2 occasions. Breakfast service was very haphazard. Average service given the expense. Serioysly overpriced.
My stay was fantastic, would select this hotel in future.
Easy to find. Blakes Bar, fab trad, is right across the street. Loved it so much, we added another night to our stay.
Staff all lovely helpful .made to feel welcome .rooms clean .bed very comfy
Excellent room with very nice staff.
Friendly staff clean rooms
The hotel is in a good location and our room was a nice size. The bed was also comfortable so we had a good night sleep. We had to wait for our room to be cleaned after check-in, but the hotel was understandably busy with there being an event on and we were comped parking by staff. There was no fridge in the room sadly, which we found a big miss.
Fantastic
Ok
Nice hotel and very clean Staff are excellent and very friendly
Would have been nice to have a room safe but otherwise we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were amazing and super accommodating and the hotel restaurant was very good!
The hotel is very central and there is easy access to the shops and the cathederal. The staff were very friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble.
great place
Amazing staff and service food was amazing well worth coming would advise it a must to stay here. 5*****
Location not convenient when arriving by scheduled bus / coach. Basement breakfast room rather characterless.
Staff and service excellent. Property slightly tired. Rooms and bathrooms would be improved with some upgrade.
The Receptionist that checked me in was very pleasant and welcoming however the Receptionist at check out was not at all pleasant. The hairdryer in my room was not working which I reported at check out. There was no room service menu in my room even though the information book said room service was available. The room was comfortable and clean
Ideal location in Centre of town, parking at hotel, staff are very helpful and friendly, rooms are excellent, id recommend restaurant as food is great, definitely will be back .
Nice hotel, great location.
Great hotel but glass of wine an pint of beer very exspensive
Clean friendly hotel.Great location for town
