Exceptional Staff and lovely rooms in a central location - thank you Irene
We were first given a room looking out at a construction site but the kind staff assisted us in moving to another room we enjoyed
Beautiful design in a perfect location
All round excellent luxury hotel, stylish in a superb location, great breakfast and very good service
Room v nice as was bar
gym was laughable- Ive better kit in my garage and it was crowded with four people in it. Same with spa. A special area for treatments and gym members (lucky them) but four seats for everyone else. Pretty poor and I wouldn't select this hotel for spa and gym (like I did) or you will be v disappointed
Perfectly located. Really liked the bakery (great great breakfast) and the Thai restaurant in the hotel. Spa and pool are very relaxing. Rooms are on the smaller side - that was one small negative thing.

We stayed at Hotel St. George in Helsinki for two nights in August as a base to explore the city and take a day trip to Tallinn. The hotel is wonderful, featuring Scandinavian design thoughtful down to the finest details of color, materials, lighting, and overall guest comfort. The staff is exceptionally friendly, diverse, and attentive—special thanks to Petra at reception upon our arrival; we truly felt well taken care of. Keep your eyes open for the hotel’s art treasures, which feature works by several famous modern artists! The rooms are exceptionally comfortable, featuring inviting beds, customizable lighting, and excellent soundproofing. We had breakfast on both mornings and loved the prompt, cheerful service, custom omelets, and cappuccinos that looked and tasted like they came from an authentic Italian barista. We also visited the spa, which features a classic Finnish sauna and a warm, refreshing pool—it worked wonders on our sore muscles and joints after long days of walking! The Wintergarden Bar is equally delightful, filled with beautiful design elements, striking wallpapers, and stunning artwork. I am truly looking forward to my next stay at Hotel St. George! ❤️😋☕️
A nice Hotel with good location near the city center
Kauniisti sisustettu huone ja käytännön asiat hoituivat hienosti. Aamupala oli herkullinen ja palvelu erinomaista!
Tyynyt olivat epämukavia.
Adjacent to a green park and ideally located to explore the heart of Helsinki, the St. George is a boutique type hotel with cool decor, hip art installations, well-maintained rooms and public spaces, and super comfortable beds. We booked an Atelier room (501) that was very spacious with beautiful views of the park. It also had one of the largest bathrooms I’ve ever encountered in a city hotel; the double sinks and large vanity area and thoughtful layout were great. We also appreciated the vault-like bathroom door that was a nice change from the unfortunate frosted glass bathroom doors we’ve been seeing at many high hotels in the last years. I gave four stars instead of five only because: (1) the room lacked a dresser, drawers or shelving that we could use to unpack—there’s really no choice but to live out of your suitcase except for a rod to hang a few things on in the small closet; (2) there was no Nespresso machine which at this price point one sort of expects instead of a kettle and instant coffee packets; and (3) there isn’t turndown service. A huge bonus was the spa area— it is free of charge to use. It has a simple clean locker room and a coed sauna, steamroom and pool. Great way to relax after a day exploring and before dinner. Breakfast was fine. But there are also tons of restaurant options on the blocks around the hotel for breakfast, coffee, lunch and dinner. The front desk staff was super nice and welcoming. They helped us get a reservation one night at a restaurant whose website said it had no reservations available. That was much appreciated.
Beautiful, extra large rooms, helpful & friendly staff, artful decor, with outstanding location.
We were very satisfied with our recent week-long stay at Hotel Helsinki St George. It’s a beautifully designed and well-built hotel conveniently located in the heart of Helsinki. It’s about a five-minute walk from the Helsinki Central Station and is within walking distance of great restaurants, museums, parks, stores, and the harbor. At check-in, Emilia of the Reception staff greeted us warmly, and assigned us a great room on the fourth floor. On our first night, my wife wanted fresh air and was given a key to open the windows. We slept quite soundly. Unfortunately, on the second night we were both bitten by midges. When we informed her of that fact, Emilia was most helpful. She sprayed the room with a repellent and offered to switch us to another room. Then, she patiently and cheerfully showed us four different rooms on two different floors and at different price levels. Finally, we decided to stay in our room, and Emilia arranged to have it cleaned thoroughly. We just kept the windows shut and enjoyed the rest of our stay. We were very satisfied with Emilia’s extraordinary customer service. With Emilia’s can-do attitude, we believe Hotel Helsinki St George is in good hands. Breakfasts at St George were plentiful and delicious, featuring a variety of hot and cold dishes and a few delicious Finnish specialties. We especially enjoyed the made-to-order omelettes and different kinds of coffee. The breakfast staff was cheerful, courteous, and helpful. Our favorite area was the St. George Care spa which features an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, cold bath tub, individual showers, and neurosonic lounge chairs. In fact, we spent most of our time in Helsinki luxuriating in the spa. It was most refreshing to take a hot sauna and then plunge into the cold bath or swim in the pool. My wife and I also had a couple of massages and really enjoyed them. In sum, we had a most enjoyable stay at Hotel St George. We highly recommend this hotel to all travelers planning a trip to the beautiful city of Helsinki.
I loved our nice big balcony with the great views over the park and the central location close to everything
Beautiful property lovely room, great cafe, great location
Nothing to dislike
I was initially hesitating between Waldorf Astoria, Hotel Kämp and Hotel St. George, and spent quite some time reading reviews on both TripAdvisor and Google before making my decision. I eventually chose to stay here, paying almost €500 per night for three nights, plus anothwr 100 euros fo an airport transfer. Unfortunately, the experience did not start well. Upon arrival at the airport, the representative who drove us to the hotel barely said a word. There was no proper greeting, introduction or explanation about the transfer. He seemed to be moody. For a hotel positioning itself at the luxury end of the market, this was a disappointing first impression. Things did not improve upon arrival at the hotel. We had to carry our own luggage. I completely understand that staff can be busy, but there was neither a greeting nor even a simple apology for being unable to assist us. It is these small details that often define luxury hospitality. Check-in itself was fair. Our room on the 6th floor had a lovely view and balcony and was well equipped. The bathroom was spacious and probably my favourite part of the room. Some of the closets and furniture could benefit from a little refurbishment or touch-up, which would make the room feel more polished. Breakfast was good, and the service there was pleasant. After walking past and visiting both Hotel Kämp and Waldorf Astoria, having been greeted by an operation manager during the visit, I unfortunately found myself regretting my choice. At almost €500 per night, I expected a noticeably higher and more consistent level of hospitality, refinery. The property itself has many good potentials, but the service could have been much better aligned with the price point and the expectations of a luxury hotel.
We visited thd Hotel St. George 2x within a six month period (summer, Winter Wonderland). The second time, in the winter, I was recovering from a lingering hip surgery 4 months prior. The hotel was just the place to be to continue recovery. We went to the spa, had daily saunas/pool exercise, and ate delicious breakfasts. I felt so good with my recovery, that I joined my family on a super easy, careful, XC skiing outing. You'll be greeted by happy and helpful staff; lots of smiles show that the staff really like being there. If you are looking to go to Helsinki, consider the St. George Hotel, whose one staff told me, their motto is to, "Exceed Expectations." And, that's exactly what you will experience. I'd fly an extra 8 hours over any hotel in the USA, just to be at the St. George in Helsinki with their fantastic cheerful staff, lots of pampering, spa/sauna/pool area, and great breakfasts. Enjoy your trip and stay at the Hotel St. George!
I had such a wonderful experience with the Omorovicza: The Queen Soothing Skin Therapy Session with Hanna Glad. She was incredibly professional and knowledgeable, making me feel comfortable throughout. The treatment was truly rejuvenating, leaving me feeling refreshed and revitalized. I highly recommend this spa and Hanna for any future treatments! She truly made it a five-star experience!
Superior service, excellent staff, very relaxing spa and super good restaurant and Bar. Cocktails are worth tasting. Breakfast is very good, wide selection and fresh tastes. Maybe not the best hotel for families, we had our 1-year-old with us.
This is a lovely hotel in a fantastic location. The interiors are very stylish and the staff are all friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.
Receptionist was great in getting us last minute reservations at Karl-John down the street by calling on our behalf. We highly recommend this small but excellent dining place.
The bed mattress was too soft. TV remote and safe access should be checked before a guest stay as the remote batteries were dead and the safe could not be used as it could not be reset. Staff was very attentive to get both of these items fixed immediately but it would have been great if those had not been an issue from our initial stay.
A beautiful hotel in the heart of Helsinki. Very friendly staff upon our arrival and throughout our stay, very well furnished and clean room, and excellent all-round. If you are looking for a nice, relaxed couple's weekend break in Helsinki, the Hotel St. George is the place to go.
Excellent location, atmosphere, so beutiful room and delicious breakfast. We were so pleased with everything.
Design, ilmapiiri
We loved our stay at the St. George. Prior to coming, I emailed with questions. They were answered immediately by an amazing hotel staff member. She was the same person who checked us in and she remembered us! Our room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely amazing. We are still talking about the sourdough bread. The hotel itself is in a great location. We would absolutely stay here again.
Amazing amenities, amazing location, top tier luxury, delicious on site bakery, great breakfast, classy bar!
Not enough trash cans in room, loud construction started around 7am one morning, and staff didn’t distinguish the 20% off parking garage with the same name from another one that wasn’t 20% off that was also nearby.

This was one of the best hotels I have stayed in- everyone I encountered was professional and kind and helpful. I ate one dinner here, had some laundry done and booked a massage everything was perfect. The location is fabulous for walking the city. Highly recommend.
I stayed at the Hotel St George for a five day vacation in Helsinki, and couldn't be more pleased with my choice! I stayed in a Serenity Studio room type, and while it was definitely on the smaller side, it was well designed and comfortable, and the perfect place to land after a long day out exploring the city. First, the location of this hotel is excellent. It is on a beautiful, quiet park, a couple blocks from the Esplanadi, and walking distance to almost everything in central Helsinki. Nothing seemed to be more than a 15 - 20 minute walk away (tops), and many things were a 5 minute walk. There is also a great cafe on the ground floor which is perfect for breakfast or lunch, and seems to have lots of locals dining there as well. The room we stayed in, the Serenity Studio, was good as an entry room-type. This room type comes with spa access (sauna, pool, steam room). The room was comfortable, though small, with thoughtful design touches and functionality features - there was a decent sized built in wardrobe, slim night stands with charging next to the bed, a modern and new bathroom, and a relaxing decor style. The spa at the hotel was ok, but I wasn't too impressed with it. We went daily for a sauna and a steam room sit. You have to make a reservation via the front desk to prevent overcrowding, and even then, it felt like there were sometimes a lot of people there. The locker room wasn't always super tidy, and generally it didn't feel as special as it could have. But maybe I was expecting something a bit more magical in Finland, the world capital of sauna! The staff was friendly and helpful, and housekeeping was very kind and attentive! No one hesitated when we asked for help, and were always professional and polite. Overall, I think this is a great choice for a stay in Helsinki; and still felt a bit undiscovered, with a boutique feel - like a very chic address to stay at for your visit. I'd much rather stay here than at a chain hotel; and it feels like it's in a more perfectly peaceful area with more modern sophistication than Hotel Kamp which we were also debating staying at.
I had a very comfortable stay. I stayed for three nights, and my room was kept clean and tidy every day. I really liked the shampoo and hand soap; they had a lovely, refreshing scent. The breakfast lived up to its reputation and was delicious. I especially enjoyed the cinnamon roll rusks, the dark sourdough bread, and the pumpkin salad. I was so full that I regret never ordering the homemade juice or egg dishes, even though they were offered every morning. And I felt that the restaurant staff were professional.
Although I had reserved a breakfast time in advance via a Booking.com message, the information hadn't been passed on, and I had to confirm it again at check-in. Since I’m not very confident in English, I got a bit confused and felt bad about causing trouble for the reception staff.
We stayed at St George last year in the Atelier Studio with balcony and thought this was absolutely the best hotel in Helsinki. This year we booked the same room expecting the same quality but got one facing the back with basically views of walls. The balcony was a miserable little one. Not once did we step onto it. When we asked to change at reception it was obviously not possible because every room was full. The woman at reception said ”if the balcony is important to you make sure you request one with a view”. Well, given that we paid quite a lot of extra to have the balcony, that would be evident! So yes, this hotel is very nice, just be careful with your room choice! We felt ripped off and probably won’t return.
Perfect location in the city centre but quiet next to a lovely park. Beautiful Nordic design and comfortable room with nice bathroom. Breakfast good and generous. Friendly and smiling staff. All perfect!
Hotel was very clean and in a great location! Breakfast was fantastic! Only downside is room was very stuffy and warm. Advertised as having AC but it did not work. Couldn’t get room below 75 F on 3rd floor. Requested window opener but had to close as construction noise woke us up at 7 am. Would be nice if windows also had blackout curtains. Difficult to sleep.
Loved the Atelier room. Modest and classy as most things Finland 🇫🇮 Loved the Spa and St. George Cafe! Lovely stay overall
We had an excellent stay at St. George celebrating midsummer with my husband. The service was great throughout our visit, the room was elegantly decorated and the breakfast was the best I have ever had.
We loved this hotel because we felt so welcome from the first minute. Everything was also so clean and beautiful. -The spa was great with two saunas and pool + cold plunge pool. -The breakfast was perfect with omelettes of your choice and lattes waited to the table. Fresh bakeries from their own bakery, fresh fruit, homemade granola… they got everything one could wish for. The service was excellent, we felt pampered.

Great place to stay in the heart of Helsinki. Small but very nice gym and spa is nice addition and available for hotel guests
The Hotel St. George may be one of the best hotels that we have used in the last twenty years. The service is impeccable as well as being friendly. Our room was spacious including maybe the best designed bathroom in my memory. The bar and breakfast room are excellent. The former is especially nice because of its beautiful decor. And, the St. George is located just right for seeing the sites of Helsinki. Nothing is more than a thirty minute walk.
Great location, very clean and bright rooms. Lovely bar, bakery and spa and friendly staff.
There wasn’t enough storage space in the room.
Absolutely loved my stay at Hotel St. George. The location is perfect for exploring the city, the room and property were beautiful and clean. I didn’t have time to experience the spa or breakfast, but I’m sure they would both be up to par. St. George bakery downstairs was great for a quick snack. I do recommend guests bring an eye mask as the curtains in the room are not black out curtains so the long daylight hours may impact your sleep without an eye mask. I’m already looking forward to my next visit in Helsinki and I will certainly be staying at Hotel St. George when I do return!
Location: I could not ask for a better location. Walking distance to everywhere in the city center. Atmosphere: Cozy, interesting artwork, relaxing. Rooms: Good sized rooms with comfortable beds. I would have wished for thicker curtains to block the light. Noise level: Surprisingly quiet. Service: Friendly and helpful.
Nice spa and small swimming pool. Location is great and close to all attractions. Our room was facing the park, which was a place to night parties and loud noises. In the morning the park and the street had trash laying around all over. Great breakfast with many delicious choices.
We had issues with our room, which did not have a working bathroom. Staff tried to address the issue quickly, however, we ended up being moved to a different room. Also, pool policy is set for ages 16 plus, which made our 8 year old very disappointed.
Aamiaisella neuleeni tarttui tuoliin kiinni. Olisin toivonut vastaanotossa suomenkielistä palvelua, kun kirjauduimme sisään. Hotellihuoneen televisio ei toiminut kunnolla, euroviisuilta!
We had a wonderful staycation at the stunning Hotel St. George, and the experience was excellent in every way. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, the rooms are spacious, everything is spotless, and the staff is fantastic. The location is also perfect - right in the heart of Helsinki, next to a beautiful park. Despite the central location, the hotel feels wonderfully peaceful and quiet. What I especially appreciated was how easy and valued the staff made us feel as guests. Wherever we went, the friendly staff were immediately there to help, which made the whole experience feel effortless and truly welcoming. The lovely spa made the experience even more special. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy two different saunas, as well as both a cold pool and a warm pool. Breakfast was excellent. Even though the hotel was quite busy during our stay, everything was handled extremely well. The food was beautifully and invitingly presented, and the service was first-class. The restaurant downstairs is also excellent. Highly recommended!
My wife and I had an exceptional experience at this hotel, surpassing all our previous stays. The immaculate room, with its captivating art and color palette, exceeded our expectations. The breakfast spread was abundant and varied, offering quality and variety. The staff, from the reception desk to the breakfast area, was hospitable, engaging, and pleasant. The modern Thai fusion dinner at Boon Nam (not operated by the hotel) was also exceptional. The quality of the ingredients and the chef's creativity were an adventure for our taste buds from the starters, cocktails, all the way to the dessert. However, there were a few small areas for improvement. The dinner à la carte menu lacked child-friendly options, and the restaurant staff was rigidly unable to accommodate our 5-year-old's request for plain noodles and chocolate ice cream. We are eagerly looking forward to our next visit.
Excellent luxury hotel in the very center of Helsinki. Udnerstated, classic and sophisticated, with large, functional rooms and great bath amenities. Comfortbale bed. The hotel best selling point is, in my opinion, the excellent spa with sauna, steam bath, and a very attractive indoor swimming pool; the gym, while not large, is well-equipped. I did not have the hotel breakfast, but I did get some pastries at the St George Cafe', and the cimmanom rolls were excellent. The hotel bar is also very nice, and supposedly the cocktails there are top notch. Highly recommended hotel, in the same league as Hotel Kamp and likely the newly-opened Waldorf Astoria.
