Small and in a quiet place, owner very sociable and helpful, excellent breakfast and dinner is very good as well.
Magical! My second stay in this riad. Very clean, beutifully restaured, a little jam in the middle of Medina...just 10 min. walk from the main square and the Ben Yousef Maderesa. A real authentic experiencd of Marrakesh, very clean, good AC, comfortable bed, wonderful yard and terrace, generous breakfast. Let you the little labiring to get to the riad not scare you - you will learn it fast and at night there is even a guard in the neighborhood. Plus it is so typical for Marrakesh that you must try it.
Styaed in this Riad 2 times. It was magical! It is nicer than on the pictures. Fullheartedly recommended.
Assolutamente nulla.
Calm Riad in the centre of Marrakech. Very nice hosts, excellent service, good breakfast and very good dinner. Everything was spot on.
Yusuf and Raja are super friendly and will accommodate your needs with a big smile on their face :) I did a desert tour and had to leave super early, they made sure breakfast is served before i leave (outside of the normal breakfast time) The room is clean and spacious The way to get there might feel dodgy but it is very safe and once u arrive to Marrakesh they will arange for you to be picked up from the closest point of the medina where a taxi will drop you off and a very nice man sent by them will drop you off at the riad door The Riad is very close to the heart of the medina 3-5 min walk
Nothing
A little oasis!! Traditionally and stylishly decorated room & bathroom (I stayed in the deluxe double). Comfortable bed and delicious breakfast each morning. Thanks Raja! Great location, walkable to everywhere but it’s easy to get a little lost as Riad Maizie is at the very end of a rabbit warren of laneways. Take Will’s advice and download the (free) Map.me app! Will’s communication was great and his ongoing care of the Riad and his guests are fantastic.
Not much! As mentioned it can be difficult to find but Will is always in standby to help.
The room was very nice, the matress super comfy, the breakfast on the rooftop a treat and allover vibe 5*. This dar/riad has rooms on the ground and upper floor, and mine was on the ground floor. Fresh, nice and not noisy at all!
One may have a bit of trouble finding the place, at it is located at the heart of medina, so literally in the middle of a maze. I managed (not without help, though), but I imagine it can be quite overwhelming for an anxious person.
I had a really comfortable stay at Riyad Mayıze Hotel. The location was great. Very close to the Souk Bazaar, and pretty much everywhere was within walking distance. As a solo female traveler, I personally felt a little uneasy in the evenings at first because the streets and the way to the hotel were quite narrow and maze like. However, after the first couple of days, I got used to it and felt much more comfortable. Other than that, everything was wonderful. The accommodation, breakfast, the friendliness of the staff, and how helpful everyone was made my stay very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend it.
Great location Nice breakfast Owners were friendly
Well maintained courtyard and bedroom with a private bathroom. Roof access for when the sun was shining. Friendly hosts (Will, Raja). Located near Jemaa El-Fnaa Square, so central enough to walk to most places in the city.
The mattress was hard to sleep on, but that would be a personal preference for a softer mattress.
I travelled with my Dad and we enjoyed our stay at Riad Maizie. The rooms were beautiful and clean, with nice traditional decor and furnishings. It was wonderful having breakfast in the court yard, which was very tranquil. We also enjoyed the area, close to the main souk area and 10 min walk to Jemaa el Fnaa. The area feels village like and there are some nice restaurants and places to have a coffee nearby. The staff are kind and welcoming and Will the owner is there if you need any help. A lovely stay and I would definitely return.
It was quiet, great place to chill after a tour. Rooftop terrace. Breakfast was good. (Dom)
Nothing.
Nicely hidden away down quiet alleyways, but easy walking distance to Souq. Moroccan decor, large comfortable rooms, great breakfast, helpful staff.
Nothing!
Great breakfast, lovely staff, beautiful decorations- this Riad is a truly hidden jewel, a small Moroccan oasis. I felt like staying at friends. Rooms are quite big and the roof top is beautiful. Rather quite so you can sleep well at night. Prices are compared to many other Riads still rather fair. We will come back!
It was all fine- in the beginning it was hard to find the Riad, so you have to have someone to pick you up. However, that is actually quite an adventure and I loved the area.
We had a problem with the prepaid taxi at the return as we were asked for extra money to be taken to the meeting point with the taxi and it took us a long time to reach our car….
Very charming, quiet Riad tucked away at the end of a dark, narrow lane, but everything in the Medina was well walkable, so the location is actually pretty good. Terrific and delicious traditional breakfast!! (normally served at 9, but they'll happily serve it earlier if requested the day before - for me, that was 8.30). What I also liked was that the curtains were dark enough to block out the light in the morning. The people that run it were very helpful and accomodating. The lady speaks French, whereas the guy speaks fluent English (he's presumably British), so for me as a non-French-speaker, conversation with him was effortless. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there!
The windows in my room didn't shut properly, but that's really only a minor issue as they open to the courtyard, so very quiet anyway.
Beautiful building, beautiful big room with original, colourful decoration. Amazing ceiling decoration in my room too! AC heating was ok (for the cold nights). Clean own bathroom/wc. Nice uproof terrace, suitable for sitting and reading when the sun was shining. Very good breakfast serving from 9am. Very clean everywhere. Location was deep in the middle of medina, but it was easy to find after first night.
The owner Will promised me to send a taxi to pick me up from the Marrakech train station. It was a late rainy evening (9:35pm), but there was no taxi for me! I was a solo traveller and as a female I didn't feel safe there so late. I tried to call Will several times, but nobody answered. Finally he answered to my e-mail and told me that he'll send me another taxi. I didn't want to wait there any longer, so I took a taxi by myself. I had the address to the riad Maizie. The driver did everything he could to bring me near to the riad. After all I had to walk the rest of the journey and in the dark I got lost. After asking help and advice from several people, I could send information to Will, so he could find me. Finally he found me, but he was very rude to me, blaming me for everything and he started to walk so fast that it was very hard to follow him. When we finally arrived the riad, he hardly said nothing, only gave me the keys and shortly informed me about the breakfast time. So I had to ask him to bring me some tea, cause I was hungry and also wet after raining etc. Well, he brought me that. But I was quite disappointed and confused after his reaction. Those feelings followed me the next two days I was there. That's why I don't give 10 review, although everything else was absolutely fine there. I wonder if Will should start learning to offer an apology... that would be a big step towards good interaction.
Authentic Riad with lots of Moroccan decorations. Nice private terrasse with sofas to relax in the shade. The riad is very private and quiet. There is a cute roof top terrasse with lots of plants. You can walk to the lively streets in just a few minutes. The lady taking care of the Riad is very nice and helpful.
The bathroom is private but it is not connected to the bedroom. You have to walk (5m) outside to get there. The bathroom is very outdated and the door does not close. The sofa bed is hard and not so comfortable. But overall, the place has a lot of charm and is fine for a couple nights.
Incredible place!! Beautiful decoration and everything was super comfy. It felt like staying at a good friend. I think I was very spoiled there.
nothing!
Proprietari molto gentili e disponibili! Colazione varia, abbondante e buona! Posizione ottimale!
Freundlicher Gastgeber Will und tolles Frühstück. Gastgeber Will organisiert die komplette Abholung vom Flughafen.
A truly lovely place with a unique blend of Moroccan character and a personal touch from the family who runs it. The owner, originally from London, and his mother have created something special — beautifully integrated into local culture, yet with a warmth that feels very human and genuine. Breakfast was exceptional: homemade cakes, pancakes, omelette, freshly squeezed orange juice, and excellent artisan olive oil. The simplest ingredients were prepared fresh on-site, offering a pure taste of real food — something not easy to find in Marrakech. Our last breakfast here was probably the best meal of the entire week.
Nothing significant to note.
Dziękujemy i pozdrawiamy! 😊
Very friendly people. Great dinner. Lovely room decor.
I stayed at the Riad Maizie for nights. I have had excellent, home cooked, warm breakfast with different items including coffee,/ tea/ fruit juice. On the day of my checkout, I had to leave early to get to the airport by 7am. The host, Will, has kindly put a continental breakfast together for me the previous night and left it in my room to have it early morning. I had a wonderful Moroccan Omelette too. Riad Maizie is about 12 minute walk from the main square Jemma el Fna. It's a beautiful, traditional, Moroccan house with a courtyard in the middle with orange and olive trees. The riad also has a terrace where you can relax. Will is fantastic host who will make sure you are comfortable with your stay. The point is that if you go to Marrakech, you have got to stay in Riad.
Having a kettle in the room would have helped me have a tea/coffee as soon as I get up at 6 am in the morning or just before going to bed. My old habits. Milk and Coffee/ Tea powder and sugar can be bought. A kettle would help.
Do maravilhoso do jardim.
Was das Riad lt.
The Riad was so beautiful! The bed and couches are exceptionally comfortable. The inside garden with soothing fountain, the rooftop terrace, the decor, everything was like an oasis in the middle of head turning lot busy Marrakech. Youssef and his wife were very kind, and the food (both for breakfast and dinner) is so good!
The property is a bit secluded, but still easily found with Google maps. Just beware when you walk to the Riad to say no to the people telling you the street is closed —they’re just trying to get money from you by pretending to help you find your way when really you don’t need them.
Will was an excellent and helpful host. The breakfast and other meals if requested, were prepared by Rajah. They were so good. We had the best evening meal of our holiday in the Riad.
Will answered all my questions before arrival through booking.com. He coordinated our taxi from airport since we landed at 12am. He also came to meet us near the taxi as surely we wouldn't have found our way to the road which is really like a maze to find. First breakfast was a delight. He accommodated us for an early breakfast for a second night, but this was poor. Will recommended a good parking area and arranged a person with a wheelbarrow to carry our luggage out to the parking area. Will was accommodating and answered all our questions.
As you get close to the raid the narrow road gets very dark and smelly. I'm sure if they throw a bucket of soapy water in front of her door, the situation would improve. No good water pressure and no shower pipe. Private Bathroom was outside bedroom. Mosque is very close, prepare to be jolted out of bed at 5:15am (at this time of year) for 15mins. I wish we knew this to prepare the kids. Second night was better since we were prepared.
Rubbish
A friend and i had a 3 night stay with Riad Maizie. Prior to the trip i booked an airport transfer directly with them, i am very glad i did. The taxi arranged was good and took us as close as possible to the riad. We were greated by Youssef at this point and shown the way, meaning we did not wonder around, like others we saw going to their riads after arrival looking quite stressed, trying to figure out which way to go. It is tucked away and would be forgiven for not finding your way back, drop a pin in the location and google maps will solve this issue for you and you can return with no issues, or just ask a friendly local for help. It is located within easy walking distact of most places but so quiet at night i could not believe it! The riad was clean and had all we needed. We opted for food on arrival, which was probably the best of the tagines we tried whilst there. Communicating was easy with very fast responses so we could have everything organised prior to arrival, including a meal. The breakfast was filling and the coffee plentiful and fresh. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel there for your use. We had a lovely sofa to sit on outside our rooms to wind down in the evening. Anyone wanting to stay in a riad that is clean but feels authentic with great service, i recommend staying here. 2 women travelling alone, we never felt unsafe there or in Marrakech at all.
Very quirky with loads of character, very comfortable bed, beautiful breakfast.
We arrived late and found it very difficult to find, not signposted, and dark alleyways.
Will could not have been more helpful. He communicated with me before my stay, arranged an airport pickup by taxi, got me taxis to and from the Bus Station when I went to Essaoira, and arranged my taxi when I returned to the airport on my way home. The room was comfortable and I slept really well. Also, the riad was a perfect size, and this meant that it was quite easy to meet up with other travellers. Finally, they served a good breakfast with tea or coffee every morning.
There was nothing I really didn't like, except that I initially found it difficult to find the riad. However, this would not stop me from recommending the riad to others, and I would also rebook it myself if I were to return to Marrakesh.
My 3rd stay at riad maizie. Fantastic riad, so quiet and serene a real chill out zone. Breakfast is very good and sets you up for the day. Will is a great host and Rajah is one of the nicest people you could meet - a star! You will not get a better and more authentic riad in Marrakech.
I liked the decorations of the room and the Raid. The breakfast was very delicious and the dinner was delicious and better than I expected. The location was fine with me. My flight was delayed but Youssef was understanding and I appreciated that. The rooms get cleaned organized and cleaned everyday. I had a wonderful stay. Thanks Youssef and Rasha.
Charming authentic riad close to everything. Very comfortable bed. Delicious breakfast. Run by knd people who are available to answer your every question. Make sure you stay at least 3 nights to truly appreciate it. As it was my first visit to Marrakech I had to get used to the location in the midst of all the action. The streets are well lit at night and as a solo female traveler I felt completely comfortable. If you're looking for a small scale traditional riad with bilingual staff (fluent English, French, Arabic) give it a go.
It’s the 2nd time i’ve stayed here with friends. The location is great, the internal courtyard and terraces delightful. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are flexible & friendly. I would strongly recommend.
I really loved my stay at Riad Maizie. It's very quiet and you hear birds sing everywhere. The bed is surprisingly comfy: a bit on the firm side but not too hard for me. Lots of pillows make up for it. The breakfast was fab, and I especially loved the various pancakes. The dates and olives are so tasty. As it's a hotel around an inner yard of course you hear people talking, but everyone was respectful and stopped at 22:00. Yes, it's an old building without insulation, and as such it was somewhat chilly in early February, but the heating took the bite off and the duvet was nice. I'd wish for an additional blanked to sit on the sofa and if the duvet is not enough. Very friendly host. The area is lovely: very few tourists around, and once you get onto the main road there's fab street food two squares to the right. Talking of which: the path to the hotel is never dark at any time of the day, there are lights, and nobody cares if you walk there or not. No reason to be scared. For navigation I found openstreetmap most useful, also for walking through other narrow paths through the medina. Confusion: leaving. Ryanair told me to print my boarding pass and to bring this print to the airport. Ok, I did. There the check-in agent tore it apart and threw it away, and gave me a normal boarding pass. On the other hand, you had to check in online. Someone in front of me was sent away to check in online as apparently the agent could not do that. Ok, that's different.
Not a lot went well. Checking started nicely with tea and sweets. Things went downhill quickly from there. When the accommodations say restroom and shower included they mean shared in the hall. Remember to ask for a door that locks. Apparently, that’s not a given and you’re supposed to trust your neighbors. Also, when the description says A/C that doesn’t mean an A/C that actually turns on. The night before I literally slept in a tent with better accommodations than this. Don’t get fooled into thinking that a hosts that speaks English well means that the quality of the riad is any good.
Nice riad away from the crowdy parts of the medina but close to all you want to see or experience. English speaking host.verry nice breakfest and optioneel for lunch and diner. Sunny rooftop.
Calm although in the middle of the Medina. We love the details of the ancient construction and decoration elements. Very charming! Delicious veggy dinner!
Not easy to find
The Riad was quiet and peaceful, so easy to relax. I loved the breakfasts and the rooftop. Friendly welcome from
Once you are there, the size of it is more like a bed and breakfast. The host and help are excellent. The breakfast is good enough and the location is central. Good value.
supportive host, great location in the center (first not easy to find, but when you know the location, it is ok), nice decoration, nice roof terrace
Beautiful riad with authentic interior. Very quiet and peaceful
The breakfast was enough to make us feel full. It varied slightly from day to day. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was outstanding! The riad is awesome and quite. The ordered home-cooked food was very delicious!
There was no WiFi signal in the room.
the room itself was very nice, cozy and lovely decorated, good waterpressure, fast Wifi, comfortable bed and a bathtub. the Mansion itself is beautiful, from the 19th. century with great details, but....
i was shocked, as I went to the destroyed area (from the earthquake) to go to my Riad. even at day, parts of the path were totally dark and nearly no people on the way. it seems to be a lost place for me and that‘s exactly the Point. I missed the heart and the soul of the place. and I didn‘t felt very welcome. Instead of music, I always listen to the loudspeakers of the Iphone of the hosts, the rooftop terrace was accessible, but not cozy, because it has seen much better days... all in all I have to say, it was my worst experience in Marrakesh. i followed the good recommendations, but...
My recent stay at Riad Maizie in Marrakech was disappointing on multiple fronts. Firstly, upon arrival, I was dismayed to discover that the hotel did not have the amenities advertised on the booking platform. Despite Hotel.com indicating the presence of a pool, there was none, leaving me unable to enjoy a refreshing swim during the hot days in Marrakech. Furthermore, the absence of a coffee machine or kettle meant that I couldn't even make a cup of tea in the morning until the staff served breakfast at the unreasonably late hour of 9 am. This delay in breakfast service is inconvenient for travelers eager to explore the city early in the morning. Moreover, the location of the hotel added to my dissatisfaction. The area felt unsafe and navigating through the labyrinthine old streets was challenging. It's easy to get lost, which left me feeling uneasy during my stay. Overall, my experience at Riad Maizie fell far short of expectations. I would not recommend this hotel to fellow travelers seeking a comfortable and convenient stay in Marrakech.
I had a wonderful stay, please during your stay have them to prepare a dinner, it was super!! Ecellent.
