Reviewed Jul 6, 2026We booked online and wanted to be close to where the Cabot Trail is located. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but the owner was super friendly. We stayed in room 10. It has been recently refurbished. It was clean, well priced and quiet. Would stay here again. As a side note there was a music event just down the street on Granville street. Food vendors etc. Happens every Sunday night in the summer.

The photo does show around the back (were we stayed). Freight train passed about 60 meters from our room. shower head was a torrent. no adjustment. no effective curtains.

We did not hear any train noise during the night from the tracks behind the property. Very friendly host. Good value and highly recommended .

Reviewed Aug 31, 2025The owner was kind enough to upgrade us to the Captain's Quarters, a beautiful room in a period home from the 1800s. He's in the process of bringing the property back as close to it's original as possible. There are also little bungalows on the property. Parts of the property are a work in progress, but didn't hamper our stay, at all. It's going to be absolutely beautiful when it is complete. And as it's name suggests, you do get nice views of the harbour. We also took a little walk along the waterfront & caught the tail end of the sunset.

There was a kettle and a tray of random tea bags and coffee. No milk or sugar! Cheap but underwhelming.

Place was rundown and not at all as good as the pictures. Bed was lumpy and the room was small and could have been cleaner. You won't want to stay more than one night and if you normally stay in big chain hotels you will want to avoid this place.
