Beautiful hotel, clean and secure parking.
There was a wedding at the hotel the night we stayed. So loud all night. Ear plugs were given to us but they didn’t help.
The location was excellent. The rooms and kitchen was superb.
Price of the mini bar is super expensive.
Private quiet beach area next to the hotel Close to an excellent ceviche restaurant Pantry with a limited section of free snacks
Location away from the main city The rainy season in August left large stinky pools of water next to the hotel
Location was great right on the water
Both night we were there they had events so we couldn’t go to the water and for the room it was very expensive. Breakfast was included which I thought that would make it worth the price but it was Dannon yogurt and granola.
It is a good well maintained property with spacious rooms, no issues with hot water. Clean. Really good and quiet AC, friendly stuff, free access to a full big kitchen on the top floor.
I booked this property because it was advertised as coming with a private beach. Well, there are no chaise longs, only Adirondack type chairs. The beach has sanitary issues and the water isn’t that clear as at other beaches due to its location. And of cause no one mention it in the reviews.
It would’ve been nice to have had a structured breakfast instead of continental breakfast. Also a small swimming pool would’ve been nice. Other than that, the place was nice, clean, comfortable, quiet and safe. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Good place, all clean and organized, and has a beautiful outdoor and landscape . Highly recommend.
All was good. Sadly, the restaurant was closed.
Everything was excellent. The room had a lot of space, with a nice bathroom and a small balcony. The staff were friendly and helpful. The whole place felt cozy and nice. The hotel beach was really peaceful.
Nothing major here. There was no TV (to keep the kids entertained). The breakfast was really simple, but you can complement it by bringing your own food.
Eigener Strand, großzügige Anlage, Freiluftküche, auch für Selbstversorger
Property was located in a quiet area away from the Malecón. Relaxing during the day.
Breakfast is advert for an extra cost but not worth it. They don’t consider people with food allergies not a variety. Neighbor’s dogs barked all night. Couldn’t a good night sleep.
Friendly Staff, property close access to beach (beach chairs included), private secure parking, secluded private area but 5min drive to malecon, fresh OJ & coffee for breakfast. No elevators, no TV, dogs barking all night (ear plugs were provided), store bought pastries for breakfast nothing fresh or authentic. Overall nice property just some minor adjustments for improvement
Felicidades! Volvería a hospedarme sin dudarlo.
Quiet and secluded location. Large comfortable rooms. Friendly staff, and located right on the water for nice walks and nature.
Excelente hotel.
Room space, room style, amenities, facilities, location, breakfast, terrace, friendly staff.
Hubo algunos inconvenientes el día
The location was private and there was security and you parked behind a gate that was manned 24 hours. The breakfast was excellent. the room was very comfortable with an beautiful view and upstairs there was a beautiful palapa that had a full kitchen with every appliance you could ever want. It was great. The staff was very helpful and friendly. we had the suite
I think the only thing bad I could say about it is that the property behind them had a dog and at night it would bark all the time and it would get other dogs barking as well. That was the only bad thing.
Location is Ok, just 10min drive from city center. Small cozy beach (not private). Parking place. Security 24/7
Bed and pillows with plastic protection. Breakfast service - very, very slow and not that many options for non mexican. Breakfast is menu served not buffet.
This property is absolutely beautiful! Spacious, awesome waterfront views, and very secure. Gated parking area, 24 hour security guards, a beautiful cooked to order breakfast, and every person that we encountered on the staff was professional, kind, and welcoming. We absolutely recommend this place to anyone that wants to stay in La Paz. Just far enough from the waterfront walk to miss the hustle and bustle, but just close enough to access with a very short driv, or a robust walk. (1.7 km)
We had a great stay at the Marea. It's a small location a kilometer or two away from the downtown, quiet, with its own beach. Our room was beautiful and spacious, with a large bath/shower. The upstairs kitchen was complete and well stocked with appliances, utensils and crockery. It has an associated lounging area and great views. It was nice for the two of us, but would be super if you were traveling with a group of friends. The grounds are nicely decorated with murals and sculptures We had breakfasts at the associated restaurant, and they were very good. My only wish would be opening a little earlier, so we could catch breakfast before some of our earlier tours. That being said, when we asked the staff if they could rush our breakfast one morning, and they were most accommodating. The location appears to be a popular destination for weddings, as there were celebrations on both Friday and Saturday nights. The weddings looked very well planned, and a lot of fun to be around. Aside from the celebrations, it was a quiet location. They have their own secured parking area and 24x7 security. We're looking for excuses to come back with friends.
A Hidden Gem in La Paz! It is a very lovely place, where we can see water from our porch. The place is very safe and I enjoyed a walk around the place. I loved the breakfast, which is another big plus. It is great to have a car. Enjoyed the stay very much and shall be back again.
Very secure parking, kind staff, clean rooms tastefully decorated, kitchen available, on the ocean, love the location.
Dogs barking in the houses next door.
We had a very nice experience at Marea. The staff were super friendly. The laundry service was quick and inexpensive. We loved how clean water was available and the ability to use the third floor kitchen and living area. The house coffee was absolutely delicious. Very comfortable beds. One of the best things was the breakfast which is built into the price. There were truly gourmet options and real good wait staff service. Nice, quiet area but still walkable to malecon.
Breakfast was excellent as was the wait staff. The receptionists were really friendly and helpful. It is a little isolated but that is what makes it quiet.
The hotel was mostly quiet except for staff talking on their walkie talkies late or early waking us up which could be avoided.
Good Value
The property itself is gorgeous. Plenty of hot water. Everything worked except for the heater/ AC. Its possible I just couldn't figgure it out.
A wonderful hotel. Everything was great. Next in La Paz we certainly stay there
Great bay views from the room and terrace. Well lit at night. Gated parking. Breakfast included.
There was no TV in the room because it’s not part of the “concept”.
Work retreat. Beautiful location, flexible amenities, helpful staff. The entire property and even the beach were spotless. The restaurant had delicious and nutritious food. We loved the spaces just to hang out also.
It’s just beautiful and the private beach and property spaces to lounge and relax are lovely and felt so safe and peaceful.
Most of the restaurant staff was very nice but one lady gave us attitude when we asked for change which was off putting and rude. The rest of the staff was A+!
We loved the peace and beauty of this wuaint hotel! The rooms are pretty and spacious. We felt very safe and the staff is very kind. It was extremely clean. The breakfast choices were tasty and fun to try. We feel it is an undiscovered gem! A quick drive to the Malecón, too!
Firstly, it was lacked the standard amenities of a hotel and resembled more of a hostel. Additionally, our stay was marred by the presence of rottweiler dogs adjacent to our room, which incessantly barked and attempted to approach us whenever we entered or exited. Moreover, the hotel's surroundings, including an abandoned cement factory, further detracted from our experience. However, the most distressing aspect of our stay was the We suffered from food poisoning after consuming Mackerel fish at the hotel's restaurant and we were hospalized .
Excelente
Beautiful property grounds, rooms were nice, and restaurant lovely and staff around hotel are friendly
Property def needs a pool as La Paz gets hot and nearby beach waters are port waters. Wish restaurants workers wouldn’t chat up my GF for so long every Am while ignoring me :-)
Staff was great
I checked out on forth day and then went for breakfast and was charged , and breakfast was supposed to be included 🙁
Facilities were amazing, as were the staff and amenities. Great value.
Location was out of the way.
Restaurant lukker kl 16
Breakfast was excellent. The staff were so attentive, helpful and friendly. The suite was lovely. Staff arranged a taxi for us to the marina and back.
The bed was a bit uncomfortable for us. We would have liked to be closer to restaurants although the one at the hotel, The Bahia, was very, very good. However, the restaurant closed by 4p so we couldn’t have dinner there.
The hotel is everything we wanted and more. It has a private beach perfect for the kids. The room was big and spacious. We will definitely come back for our next trip .
The food is not very good but there are good restaurants near by so it was not a big problem
Breakfast was only - to choose from one dish - I thought that was cheap for a rather expensive nights stay. The waiter was not pleasant and asked specifically to have tips - before we even got the food !!!
Great modern hotel with ample rooms and beach.
The restaurant only opens until lunch. There is no pool at the hotel. There was no one at the hotel when we were there, we were the only room occupied. Maybe the hotel should lower their daily rates to attract more clients.
Staff.
Restaurant and bar close at 4pm !!! Ridiculous. We didn't enjoy the dog next door barking all night. Bed was comfy. Rest of the furniture was not.
Wonderful boutique hotel. We came to La Paz for a whale shark snorkel. The hotel had an excellent restaurant with lots of menu options. Besides the dog barking in the middle of the night, it was perfect. I'd definitely would recommend and plan to stay there again.
We stayed one night prior to departing on a multi-day whale watching excursion, as it was part of our included package. The grounds and rooms were well kept and clean, the staff friendly, the beer was nice and cold, and the food we had was excellent. The downside was that the room pillows and sheets appeared to have plastic covers under the bedding and pillowcases, and as a result were not very comfortable or breathable. Also we were awakened throughout the night by loud music, and a dog barking incessantly at the property directly behind our room. Fortunately, we were only there for one night.
Excellent staff, clean rooms, great decoration, an excellent option y coming to relax !!!
Nothing comes to mind
Free use of bikes to get to waterfront area. Amazing breakfast
The hotel is away from the waterfront area, tucked back by itself. Not many restaurants you can walk to
First the good news and why the hotel should have more stars: The staff is wonderful, the rooms are spacious, very clean and nicely decorated, and the breakfast is delicious. The downside... Noisy during sleeping hours due to the loud barking dog at the metal scrap yard/home next to the hotel. The dog barked for long periods usually around 5am sometimes 3am. This is only a nighttime occurrence, and the hotel is quite peaceful during the day. Bring earplugs for sleeping. The on-site restaurant is closed in the evening and only serves breakfast & lunch. Meaning you have to trek (drive, taxi or walk 30+ minutes) into the city for all of your dinners. One of the reasons we booked the hotel was the great restaurant reviews. Maybe the restaurant serves dinner in the high season. Research this in advance. Noteworthy - The grounds of the hotel are quite large and as eerie as they are interesting. They previously hosted music events & festivals which is evident by the now abandoned stages, outdoor bars, hangout areas and camping sites. You can see all of this on the video playing in the reception area, and wonder "where is all of this fun and glamour." Stroll the grounds and check it out.
Hotel tranquilo y agradable.
Everyone was so kind and helpful! The space was clean and the ocean sounds of the marina were great! If you're able-bodied to walk, then you can make the almost 30 minute meander to the main strip. The pathway is nice and the nightlife (family oriented) is grand!
The hotel staff was really nice and friendly for the most part. The only thing I would have to say is that the room didn't have a TV. Also the dog's parking at night was not a good thing. Very clean and spacious. Restaurants food was good for the price of the room . Access to everything within a few Km/ miles. I would definitely come back and stay here.
I loved the breakfast and the peacefulness. I felt perfectly safe there. We had wonderful room attendants and other service workers. The shower was perfect for my disabled husband.
I would have liked a television set.
We are two couples that didn't want to stay in a large chain hotel or spend a lot on a resort because we wanted to get out and explore. The Marea turned out to be a perfect find! The hotel property and rooms are very pretty with nice decorative touches. We liked the free secure parking and bikes to rent... Prefect for riding down to the Malecón. There were several areas to meet up with our friends and hang out. The rooftop community kitchen is very nicely stocked and includes some comfortable seating areas - we loved that they have drawers assigned to each room and a large refrigerator for storing your perishables. They also provide coffee and tea in the kitchen in case you need more than what's provided in your room. They also have water dispensers for refilling your water bottles. Breakfast. I don't even know where to start. We expected it to be a breakfast buffet, continental style for the guests. No, not the case at all.... Waaaay better. It's actually a restaurant that's open to the public. They have a special menu for guests that includes an assortment of delicious meals that are better than your standard eggs and toast. Nacho was our server the first 3 of the 4 mornings and oh did we enjoy his professionalism, efficiency and humor! There wasn't anything about the hotel that I found undesirable. The rooms are comfy, bath products are high quality, staff is friendly, helpful - I left our passports and cash in our room safe at checkout and they texted me on WhatsApp immediately to let me know. Tip - Unfortunately, the neighbor directly next to the room entrances has a dog that barks nonstop throughout the night and they do nothing to calm it. Be sure to bring noise-canceling headphones or ear buds and play your white noise to minimize sleep disruption.
The hotel was beautiful. Everyone working there was so helpful and friendly. The beds were very comfortable. Included breakfast was delicious. Great view, nice balcony, common palapa area on the roof also very nice. Wish we could stay longer.
Room….great. Breakfast… great. Staff… great Location great… in the front ( on the ocean) -BUT one side cement plant.. quiet while we were there. The other side is a hodgepodge of small business… not sure what they do but power tools much of the day AND VERY LOUD GUARD DOG BARKING ALL NIGHT Too bad. Lousy sleeps for both m wife and I
Everything was nice
Sound of the exaust fan behind kitchen
The staff were really nice and since it was the low season the property was very peacefull
there was no pool or hot tub.
I really liked our stay at Marea La Paz. The hotel is super cute and the staff were really friendly. There is a beach to relax at and it's outside the city so a bit more peaceful than other locations. We ate at the on-site restaurant twice and the Governor tacos were AMAZING.
Very enjoyable, very clean, restaurant was a gem, though only open 08-16:00
Location, the beach and wonderful staff
Nothing, everything was perfect
