nothing to dislike
Went specifically for a match at Norwich City Great location 20 minutes away
The bed wasn’t the best the one half is sunk and makes sleep difficult
Location is nice. Not far from the city center.
Mattresses were uncomfortable. Breakfast: just cereal or bag oatmeal with milk, artificial orange juice and toast which you cook yourself in the room.
Clean room with good facilities and good breakfast provided. Comfortable king bed
There was too much base from the pub very late into the night. It woke me up at 1:00am. Also the coffee maker was so complicated that I was unable to use it - no instructions provided for it.
Comfy, clean spacious.
Very noisy at night due to some kind of rave in the pub.
fabulous fridge orange juice and milk assortment of cereals, kitts hill bakery bread yummy, tray of coffee sugar uht milk, assortment of jams marmalade, toaster, kettle, microwave, mugs plates knives and forks in the cupboard, exeptional ensuite, sound proofed walk in shower, shaving point, hand wash, no shower gel, I brought my own, very comfortable big bed, sofa , hairdryer, ironing board and iron in the cupboard tv remote control air con, plug sockets beside the bed, the castle pub nice pint of Stella, close to Zaks riverside road opposite loved this place annex 6
absolutely nothing to dislike, can't wait to go again.A1
Size of room was sufficient for two people in separate beds. Good internet access.
It was advertised as two rooms, but it is more like a studio with attached kitchen at one side. I had requested brown bread, but only white bread was available. Breakfast spread limited for continental. Luggage rack would have been useful. This has nothing to do with accommodation - it is sited by a busy round-a-about and Norwich car drivers drive pretty fast into and out of it, making it challenging for any pedestrian who wishes to walk to town centre.
Das Frühstück, war nicht so, wie man es von einem Frühstück erwartet. Es war Toastbrot mit Butter und Marmelade und Cornflakes. Den man welcher zubereiten muss im Zimmer.
The staff are great. Gave recommendations for evening meals and directions. The room exceeded expectations. The in room breakfast selection is extensive and more than enough. Aircon was a bonus, motion sensor lighting in the bathroom, a really good idea. 10-minute walk to the cathedral and city centre. Outside seated area and parking outside the property.
Everything as expected including separating the beds to two single. Beds very comfortable. Plenty of room and good walk-in shower, though a small safety mat would help in there. Excellent staff member at The Castle Pub kindly assisted when my elderly relative fell backwards off the steps to the room. She was also let into the pub which was closed at the time, when we arrived early, to use their toilet, before we met other family in town. Much appreciated, very friendly, kind staff.
I hadn't realised the steps to the property were so high, my fault for not checking/noticing when booking, as I was more interested in getting my elderly relative a walk-in shower and a single bed.
Nice location with a short walk to the centre. Staff are super friendly. nice loaf of local bread with other goodies for breakfart in the morning.
We'd paid to upgrade to a different room with 4 singles instead of a double and a sofa. This message apparently didn't reach the hotel. Additionally, the sofa bed wasn't made up in the room we did have even though we'd noted all the way through the booking process that there were 3 guests, even having to add their names. That having been said, it was made up within an hour by the barman. Tough to write as they are all so nice here, but this isn't a 4 star by any stretch. The mattress is so soft that you hit the bed frame, the fixtures and fittings are all direly in need of a refresh, the heater/radiator in the bathroom is filled with dust, the toilet roll holder is jammed into the wall at an angle, a few small holes in the wall just plastered over - you get the idea. We did, however, sleep well - it was a warm evening but the aircon worked well and it was a pretty quiet location.
Bathroom was very specious and we had easy parking access.
Our room was by the roundabout, so a bit noisy and dark.
Staff were excellent
Attached to a very friendly little pub, the karaoke and (very small) pool table led to a fun evening.
Everything
Nothing all was perfect
The accommodation at The Castle was excellent. It is self contained with your own front door and is equipped with everything you need. Their was a good choice of supplies for breakfast and lots of teas and coffees. A lovely comfy bed and spacious bathroom, and all exceptionally clean. The pub and their staff were great and very helpful and the bar prices weren't expensive, hence we enjoyed a few glasses! Car parking was available too so we could taxi into the city and enjoy a night out. Great all round experience, thank you.
N/A Some reviews mentioned road noise... but our unit was the nearest to the roundabout and we both had a great night's sleep 😴 didn't hear a thing, and I'm a light sleeper.
Self-contained chalet behind the main building with very big comfortable bed, and more than enough space for a sofa and writing desk. The aircon was a must during a heatwave, especially when you don't realise you need to close the curtains to keep the afternoon sun out. Good powerful shower and well-stocked mini kitchen. A short walk to the cathedral and station, on bus routes, very close to the river, and relatively quiet despite being just off a busy roundabout.
Quite a few cobwebs, especially around the kitchen cupboards. The heavy, sprung front gate is difficult for anyone without strong shoulders. Breakfast was a basic self-service, using the toaster and microwave, and the cereal, juice, bread, milk and jam provided, alongside a normal tea/coffee. But staff were quick to replenish them on request.

Comfortable room with good air conditioning
Expensive considering the location and breakfast provisions.
La proximité des lieux pour la découverte de Norwich, et des lieux de restauration ou d’approvisionnement.
Rien
Great location although situated on a main road the walk into the centre could be done along the river and onto a traffic free street. The accommodation has everything you need.
Nothing - the bathroom could have done with a shelf for putting toiletries but not really an issue there was a shelving elsewhere in the room.
Everything we could need. Excellent value for money. Thank you.
It was easy to find, it had everything supplied cutlery towels toaster microwave full undercover fridge, ironing board & iron hairdryer, they supplied cereals bread butter carton orange juice jams milk tea coffee.
Not much we didnt like, though it was spacious & cleverly designed inside & maintained the outside looked very tired worn out. A lick of paint and wood preserver on the exterior would look grand & inviting and look loved especially with hanging flower baskets so come guys you have a gem there make it looked loved then ill'l come back.
The lodge on second night was a better standard than the first night in the room next to the roundabout
The first night we spent in a room next to roundabout, it wasn’t secure and the room around the bed was very narrow
Everything worked well, the shower, air con, nice little selection for breakfast , we parked 5m from our door, the walks along the river path to the train station or city centre with some nice pubs and food was very enjoyable
The roundabout was a little noisy, walking any where you have to negotiate the busy roundabout, train station is a 15 min walk and the city centre is a 25 min walk, although there is a bus stop 200m away we didn't use it.
Great accomodation for three friends sharing after a visit to the theatre.
The beds were comfy, very clean everywhere, there was air conditioning. Great facilities
Small space and small bathroom No cooked breakfast for the price
Great value and location. Clean rooms, powerful shower, good breakfast provision, excellent coffee and brilliant welcoming staff. Highly recommend
Friendly staff , very clean , air con and the little touches with the coffee milk bread and jam etc were brilliant 👌
The staff were outstanding! The manager at the time went above and beyond for our family. Provided us fresh bread and breakfast for our entire family and helped out at ever turn including parking. The service simply made the stay perfect
Excellent stay, rooms were nice and clean, staff super friendly
I will definitely be returning
Very clean and lovely location
Nothing
Air conditioned.
Cabin in pub back yard
The room was spacious Great shower Comfy beds
The location was ideal for my requirements, and the room had a lot more to offer than I expected
It was a little run down in places but nothing that marred my enjoyment of it
It was safe, clean, comfortable, had everything I needed. The air con was amazing too!
The staff are top notch. Tom is a gem 💎 Dog was a bonus, employee of the week 🐶👌 Room 6 is a self contained 'cabin' with air con... Yes, really! It's gated, excellent security features. Key card entry, come and go as you wish. Kitchenette. 5 star tea and coffee amenities : Yorkshire Tea AND a Tassimo. Shiny clean too! Super lovely continental brekkie supplied inc. fresh bread. The pub itself is super clean, smart with chilled vibe (imo) and with alot of outside space should you want to use it. Fresh made cocktails 🍹 and draught ale/cider/lager, all delicious. Pub doesn't serve food but it's Close to Zaks diner, you'd better be hungry! Staff are happy to give recommendations, nothing is too much trouble. A short walk from the view point over Norwich, Sunset view point and beautiful riverside walks. Buses stop very nearby or grab an Uber. We would defo stay again.
Nowt. 🙂
Great self contained space, air con was a god send, staff were friendly and it was great you allowed us to leave our bags with you after check out whilst we explored Norwich. Would definitely come again!
Small towels provided would have been great if these were a little bigger.
Shower TV and continental was great.
The bed was beyond horrendous, so bad, I slept all on the sofa. Air conditioning had to be switched on regularly as it didn't work off the room temp. The pub was only open from Wednesday onwards and zero food was available from the place. Tom was outstanding... However... The place was a massive disappointment. For £350 for 4 nights, won't be booking again.
Great location, nice staff.
Broken ironing board, poor quality dry iron.
Clean fresh easy to get to
Nothing all was very good
Lovely comfortable clean accommodation with excellent staff and great location. Cocktails fantastic in the bar opposite, great prices and they have happy hour too.
It was all good. Breakfast was fairly limited and the coffee wasn't for me. Perhaps a few peppermint or fruit tea sachets would be good. However, excellent value for money and I should have taken my own tea!

Clean & comfortable, helpful friendly staff
All fab cabins hotel rooms with kitchens fab beds
All fab
Very simple and close to the center of Norwich (around 15 min walk). Practical for one night stay, room was comfortable and had all we needed.
We were expecting a regular breakfast, but instead the hotel just gave us a loaf of bread, some butter and jam stocked in the room. Not too bad but not what we were expecting. Also they would not allow us to let our bags in the hotel before our check in and after our check out, which was a bit bothering to tour around the city.
Absolutely fantastic place. So clean and modern. Brilliant value for money. Staff we very welcoming. The little chalet is fully equipped with one double and one single beds, shower was great, fully equipped kitchen area and continental breakfast included. Would definitely recommend
Friendly welcome, nice room and provisions for breakfast in a great location!
The room was clean and comfortable and appreciated all the breakfast things.
It was right on a very busy roundabout which meant you couldn’t open the window. It would have been nice if they had provided some shower gel as they had provided everything else.
Staff were so friendly and helpful will definitely be booking again accommodation was lovely and clean and well presented
Everything was excellent value for money
Very close to the cathedral quarter and to the city. Very clean, comfortable bed and great facilities. Breakfast included bread from the local bakery and fresh milk. Car parking was free and right outside the accommodation.
Friendly staff, good breakfast
No cafe/restaurant
