Reviewed Aug 19, 2026Eigenlijk boek je voor een vroege vlucht zo’n airport hotel vooral om nog een paar uurtjes te kunnen slapen. Maar laten we eerlijk zijn: meestal lig je de hele nacht wakker, kijk je driehonderd keer op de klok en denk je vooral: ik moet nu echt slapen, anders heeft het geen zin meer. 😅 Maar echt. Dit. Huis. Wauw. We hebben gewoon geslapen. Echt geslapen! Niet één uur, niet twee uur, gewoon een volle nacht. Jee! 🙌 We gingen vroeg naar bed, moesten om half vier vertrekken en hadden serieus de beste bedden van onze hele reis. Zo comfortabel, rustig en stil dat we gewoon weg waren. En dan midden in de nacht ook nog zo’n heerlijke warme douche — zowel voor het slapen als bij het opstaan. Echt, beter kon het niet. Het hotel ligt maar een paar minuten van de luchthaven, dus voor een vroege vlucht is dit echt een dikke aanrader. De eigenaar bracht ons midden in de nacht ook nog ontzettend lief naar de luchthaven. Jammer dat we niet langer konden genieten van het prachtige koloniale huis, maar wat een cadeautje was het om na vier weken reizen gewoon uitgeslapen aan onze laatste vroege vlucht te beginnen. ❤️ Dit bed had ik de hele vakantie wel mee willen slepen. 😍

Reviewed Aug 5, 2026Het prachtige huis en tuin vormen een oase van rust op steenworp afstand van het vliegveld, het strand van Negombo en Colombo. Het is er keurig verzorgd en heel netjes. De gastvrouw en gastheer ontvangen je persoonlijk in het huis dat al meer dan 100 jaar in handen is van de familie. De gastheer was zo vriendelijk om ons zelfs midden in de nacht naar het vliegveld te brengen. Wat een service!

Reviewed Jul 21, 2026Uitstekende locatie dicht bij de luchthaven, op wandelafstand van restaurants. Leuke koloniale woning, prachtige tuin. Rust zo dicht bij de luchthaven. De eigenaar heeft ons, kosteloos, om 2u smorgens naar de luchthaven gebracht, was een echt mooie service!

Reviewed Mar 25, 2026Wir haben eine Nacht in dem Hotel verbracht, da es mit dem Auto nur wenige Minuten vom Flughafen entfernt liegt. Es ist keine schöne Gegend, um Urlaub zu machen, aber es war für uns ideal, um am nächsten Tag ganz früh zum Flughafen zu fahren. Es gibt einen schönen ruhigen grünen Innenhof, der mit einem Tor eingezäunt ist,wodurch man sich sehr sicher fühlt, da es definitiv keine touristische Gegend ist und man sich außerhalb (vielleicht aber auch grundlos) etwas unsicher fühlt. Der Besitzer war wirklich sehr freundlich. Hat uns um 4.30 Uhr in der Früh kostenlos zum Flughafen gefahren. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und sauber. Hatte Klimaanlage, Ventilator, TV und Moskitonetz zur Verfügung. Schönes sauberes Badezimmer. Würden wieder dort buchen!
Die Gegend außerhalb. War aber auch unwichtig, da es um die Nähe zum Flughafen ging :)

Reviewed Mar 15, 2026We appreciated the smooth and warm welcome check in especially when we arrived past midnight. Beautiful and well kept 140 year old residence with beautiful garden. We stayed less than twelve hours but it was a very nice introduction to Sri Lanka.
There was nothing to dislike but the mosquitos were huge. A token welcome basket of snacks such as biscuits or bread rolls would be much appreciated, more a gesture than a necessity.

Zimmer sehr einfach, nicht behaglich, schmucklos. Am nächsten Tag Insektenstiche am Bein.

No.53 is 5 mins drive to the airport and a complimentary taxi service is available. We didn't hear any noise at all, and got a great nights sleep.

Reviewed Aug 11, 20251880年に建てられた建物。素敵なファニチャーもちらほら。ホストは優しく出迎えてくれ、笑顔とホスピタリティに溢れていて、到着するなりコールドドリンクのサービスもあった。お庭には様々な植物があり綺麗に手入れされていたし、部屋も非常に綺麗に整えられていたので快適に過ごすことが出来た。アメニティなどはなく石鹸のみだが、値段もリーズナブルなのでコストパフォーマンスが高く、空港から非常に近いのでとても便利です。
入室時に大量の蚊がいたが、日本から持参したスプレーですぐに解決しました。

Reviewed Mar 16, 2025Picked this hotel only because it was near to the airport and had a better rating than the normal airport hotels. Felt guilty that we arrived late in the evening and flew out early in the morning - the hotel (more of a guest house) is fantastic!!! Run by a tremendously friendly and welcoming couple, it is an old house that has been in the family for 200 years and oozes with tradition. Although its geographic location is perfect for the airport and not really near anything else, it would not be too far to take a tuk tuk or car to the beach or into Colombo, and we thought that if we maybe stayed here longer it might have made a good base. Good wifi too.
Nothing not to like. Maybe it's not so convenient for anything other than the airport, but I could see it as a good base for a stay of a couple of days to be able to come back after a busy day to this tranquil and homely place.
