Nothing but the mezzanine floor does have a low ceiling and stairs up but we knew that when we booked it

Comfy, clean, and an easy walk to town or to the metro. The staff were amazing, friendly, and gave great advice on where to go and eat. They also paid attention to little details, like providing fresh bread and orange juice so it made it feel a bit more like home

Everything was great. The only thing that could be a bit better is that there was a bit too much light coming from outside at night, so the room didn't get dark enough.

Erg fijne persoonlijke ontvangst door de hosts. We kregen uitgebreide tips over de omgeving en Porto. Handige app/site waar alle informatie handig bij elkaar staat. Ligging is perfect met metro binnen paar minuten in het centrum. In de tuin zelf heerlijk rustig.

Miguel y su mujer han sido los mejores anfitriones que he encontrado últimamente. Toda la información que nos dieron fue de gran utilidad, así como los consejos, etc. Estuvieron pendientes de nosotros para comprobar que fuese todo bien. Fueron detallosos y estupendos.. Y el alojamiento es todo un remanso de paz y silencio en medio de tanto bullicio como encuentras en ciudades como Oporto.

Es ist eine sehr ruhige Unterkunft (in die Altstadt ca 15 min zu Fuß) hat gute Anschluss an die Busverbindung. Wir wurden herzlich begrüßt und mit Tips für Essen und Kultur ausgestattet. Wer einen ruhigen Ort in Porto sucht, hier findet man ihn.

Es una maravilla encontrar personas como Miguel y su esposa en una ciudad desconocida. Es como tener buenos amigos en Oporto. El sitio es especial, un pequeño rincón secreto donde la tranquilidad es su mejor valor. Volveremos

From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was absolutely exceptional. The owners were waiting for us outside the gate at 1 a.m. to welcome us personally, show us around, and make sure we had everything we needed. They even prepared fresh bread, fruit, jams, milk and orange juice for us in the room — such a thoughtful touch after a late arrival. Throughout our entire stay, they were incredibly welcoming, helpful and genuinely kind. They gave us great recommendations for the city, restaurants, local food and wine, and were always happy to help with anything we needed. You could really feel that their hospitality came from the heart. The accommodation itself was top-notch. Everything was extremely clean, well prepared and comfortable, and we had everything we needed. The location is also fantastic — close to the metro station and within walking distance of the city centre if you’re up for exploring Porto on foot. What we especially loved was having a peaceful garden and outdoor space to come back to after spending the day in the city. It was the perfect little spot to sit in the evening, relax and enjoy a glass of wine. It gives you the feeling of a getaway while still being so close to everything.

Honestly, there isn’t much to say here. We had a wonderful stay and didn’t experience anything that negatively affected our visit. If anything, we wish we could have stayed longer!

Geweldige ontvangst, voelde me heel erg welkom! Gastheer gaf veel informatie en tips over wat te doen en zien in Porto. Paar minuten lopen naar metrostation, in een mum van tijd ben je in het centrum. Appartement is sfeervol ingericht en de tuin is een prachtige plek om bij te komen van de drukte. Als ik weer naar Porto ga is dit een plek waar ik graag terugkom.

Un oasis precioso cerca del centro de una ciudad llena de vida como Oporto. Es un lugar muy agradable a todos los niveles, tranquilo, bonito, limpio, muy bien equipado (había todo lo necesario en la cocina!) y con un anfitrión super majo y amable. Me encantó alimentar cada noche a los pececitos del jardín, el momento más zen del día.

It has a charming garden with plenty of areas to relax in. The fish & resident cat were a big hit. The house has air conditioning & milk, fruit etc were provided. The host was charming & gave us lots of useful info about Porto. Very eco friendly, they redistribute items guests leave.

This is my second stay here. The hosts are very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The room had everything I needed and the outdoor space is attractive and has a variety of seating options.

No complaints. The upstairs bedroom was quite warm on hot summer days even while the air-con kept the ground floor refreshingly cool.

Really charming place - interesting design, cosy and functional premises, absolutely lovely patio for guests and very supportive and friendly stuff. Very close to the center, not far from the ocean and surprisingly calm and peaceful place. Extremely good for family vacation and solo business trip

Oáza klidu blízko centra s velmi přátelským párem hostitelů. Vše nad rámec běžného ubytování Dáváme víc hvězd než lze.

Wyjątkowe miejsce w sercu Porto. Blisko do metra i sklepu. Do ścisłego centrum 20 min pieszo. Mieszkanko dobrze wyposażone, ale na szczególną uwagę zasługuje ogród, w którym z przyjemnością można było odpocząć po zwiedzaniu. Wspaniali gospodarze tworzą wyjątkową atmosferę. Miguel podpowie co zwiedzić, gdzie zjeść i pojechać aby wyjazd był w pełni udany. Ciężką pracę osób tworzących to zaciszne miejsce widać na każdym kroku i w każdym detalu. Na powitanie każdego gościa czeka cały zestaw w postaci mleka, soku, owoców, chleba, dżemów itp. Całe miejsce jest istną enklawą ciszy, spokoju i cudownej energii. Mam nadzieję, że jeszcze wrócę!!!

Ein Zuhause fern von Zuhause. Hervorragende Betreuung und aufmerksamer Gastgeber. Wünsche werden fast von den Lippen abgelesen. Kleine aber sehr individuelle Wohnungen mit Küche und vorallem einen schönen Außenbereich, welcher den Wohnbereich vergrößert. Gute Anbindung an den öffentlichen Verkehr, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, kleine Cafés und Restaurants gleich in der Nähe oder sehr einfach zu erreichen. Ein liebevoller Willkommensgruß mit frischem Brot, Aufstrichen, Saft, Milch, Kaffee, Tee und Portwein machen eine späte Ankunft und ein erstes Frühstück sehr entspannt. Nur zu empfehlen und danke für die schöne Zeit.

I would 1000% stay here again on my future visits! Miguel and his wife were amazing hosts from start to finish and the residence was really cozy, clean and quiet. Miguel met us upon arrival to show us the residence. Then to our surprise, there was already some welcome port, a loaf of bread, some jams, cereal, the best orange juice ever, milk and water. This is more than what you can expect from any place already! Miguel and his wife also showed us what to do and where to go. They have this pretty nifty QR code that you scan and it opens into their app that they customized for their guests. They also have another QR code that opens up into a very helpful google map list of restaurants, cafes, groceries around Ruby Charms which was EXTREMELY helpful because we found our favorite restaurant our entire trip through here! I just love how quiet and how nice the neighborhood was and it was only a quick walk to the station. What set this place apart from anywhere else that we stayed was really Miguel and his wife. He even said that even if we don't stay with them next time, that we should reach out to him so we can grab coffee. This is very true to the local Porto spirit!

Very very minor but the shower is a little small but all the good things about this place, this is so negligible.

A quiet Oasis in the city. House was characterful and quirky with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Warm and friendly welcome and so helpful with recommendations for my trip. Bread, milk, tea, coffee and orange juice and even some port were provided which was welcome as I arrived late and was so happy to be able to have a coffee the next morning. A little walk out of the hustle and bustle of town but still plenty of good restaurants and an excellent bakery close by. Metro a few minutes walk away. If I ever return to the city I will definitely return.

Eine wunderbare Erfahrung: außerordentlich freundliche Gastgeber, sehr bemüht, sehr entgegenkommend und hilfsbereit, und die Zimmer Ausstattung war besser als in der Beschreibung.

Bei der Unterkunft handelt es sich um ein liebevoll gestaltetes Grundstück in zentraler städtischer Lage in Porto; es ist gut von zwei Metrostationen aus erreichbar. Die kleinen Wohneinheiten liegen sehr ruhig, der Garten ist abwechslungsreich und lädt zum Ausruhen und Genießen ein. Die Einrichtung ist gut durchdacht, der kleine Raum wird effektiv genutzt. Die Betreuung der Gäste durch den Eigentümer Miguel und seine Frau könnte nicht besser sein: freundlich, zugewandt, unaufdringlich.

Das Wetter hätte besser sein können ;)

I simply loved everything about this accomodation and the owners. The owner welcomed me at the entrance of the guesthouse and then gave me a tour of the inner courtyard and the mini apartment. The courtyard is wonderful — a true oasis of peace and greenery. The apartment is decorated in a very original style, it is clean, and equipped with absolutely everything you might need, including cooking utensils. I was welcomed with Porto wine and a variety of delicious snacks. The owners gave lots of details about what to visit. The location is about a 15-minute walk from the historic city center.

I didn't like the fact that I had to leave. 😂

Eine wundervolle Oase in der Stadt, von der aus man schnell ins Zentrum gelangt, Supermärkte und Restaurants erreicht und auch an den Flughafen gut angebunden ist per Metro. Und Miguel bereitet einen wundervollen Empfang sowohl mit wertvollen Infos, als auch mit einem liebenswerten Willkommenspaket, das einen für die erste Nacht versorgt.

Everything was absolutely fantastic! The location was awesome, the apartment was wonderful. It had everything we needed and more.Miguel had made sure that it was well stocked. The port, orange juice, water, bread, jam and other goodies were very welcome. We would absolutely stay here again if we come to Porto. Loved it, and loved Porto!!

We could not been happier with our stay, the place is amazing, just 10 minute walk to the city centre and yet an oasis of pace with a beautiful garden where to relax. The accommodation has everything you need and it is SPOTLESS. The host made sure to give us great tips and he was readily available to help throughout our stay even booking us a taxi to the airport and checking us out at 3 in the morning, thank you again for a wonderful stay.

Friendly, quiet and a good location. Everything needed for good comfort and self catering. Nice touches like milk in the fridge and a decanter of port wine. The garden area is really nice, though the weather wasn't right to take full advantage when I stayed in early March.

No complaints. What others have said about check in and deposit matched my experience. I would have preferred it if the hot water in the shower lasted a few minutes longer. There was some banging around from whatever is behind the room but it didn't bother me much or ke ep me awake.

One of the most original and memorable places I've ever stayed in. The couple who run this place are extremely friendly and hospitable. They gave me all the time in the world at check-in and some really useful information about Porto and even the history of Portugal. The room was extraordinary. What I really appreciated was the attention to detail here with extra items in the fridge and other basic supplies like cereal, milk, and bottled water to help you settle in. It's located off a quiet street within a gated compound so is very safe and secure. There is a lovely patio garden with a pond and places to relax; you're really insulated from the noise and commotion of the city and can't help but relax in such a pleasant and peaceful environment.

I'm hard pushed to find anything to criticize. It's a more expensive option and you have that 200 Euro deposit (refundable) but you get what you pay for. The shower did appear to be slightly blocked as the tray filled up very quickly and drained rather slowly. The small single room I was in has a flight of stairs overhead for accessing a room above. You might be disturbed depending on what hours these guests keep but I wasn't.

One of the most delightful hotels! We love everything and we will be in Porto again, we will choose it! We got a lot of warmness and pleasant emotions :)

Hosts were amazing, place is clean and with a great vibe. Metro is a 5 minute walk and the city is 20 minutes away walking. Would absolutely return.

L'accueil par le propriétaire et sa femme,le logement très bien,mais pas pour un long séjour.

Le stationnement dans la rue,pas de place et après 3 nuits ,nous nous sommes aperçu que l'on nous avait cassé la vitre de la porte arrière droite pour essayer de nous voler la voiture ou ce qu'il y avait dedans,ce n' est pas du tout sécurité.

Accueil très chaleureux, Miguel et son épouse sont très serviables et attentifs à nous assurer le meilleur séjour. Tout est prévu, même le porto ! L endroit est charmant, bien décoré et fonctionnel !

Le logement est situé sur les hauteurs de Porto... dur dur en fin de journée pour les jambes 😉

Everything was fabulous. Our host, Miguel, was so friendly and helpful. Great communication throughout our whole stay. He recommended great restaurants and things to see and do. The accommodation was clean and comfortable with everything you need. It was a lovely surprise to find breakfast foods included: nice bread with spreads, coffee, and tea. Also, a nice little bottle of port, which was a nice touch. Free parking on the street outside the accommodation. It was also an easy walk to the Porto centre. Would definitely stay again!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ich kann diese Unterkunft nur Empfehlen! Miguel ist ein sehr angenehmer Host, sehr bekümmert und immer erreichbar und hilfsbereit. Die Unterkunft ist etwas außerhalb gelegen, so dass wir auch in Restaurants abseits des Touristentrubels auf Empfehlung von Miguel nette und interessante Abende verbracht haben. Sehr angenehm ist auch der Aufenthalt im „Garten“, etwa beim Frühstück.

Vom herzlichen Empfang von Gastgeber Miguel, dem schönen, mit ganz viel Liebe zum Detail und Kreativität gestalteten Garten und dem Apartment mit viel Atmosphäre bis zur Hilfsbereitschaft und Versorgung mit Tipps und Informationen für einen gelungenen Aufenthalt habe ich mich vom ersten Moment an herzlich willkommen und sehr wohl gefühlt und gut erholt. Ein Ort mit einer besonderen, positiven Energie und Atmosphäre inmitten der Stadt und den liebsten Gastgebern. Die Verkehrsanbindung ist super (Metroststion Marques), dennoch ist es sehr ruhig. Viele kleine Geschäfte, Cafes und Tasquinhas fußläufig, sowie die typischen Nachbarschafts-Mittagstisch-Lokale mit Prato do Dia. Muito obrigado, Miguel pela tua hospitalidade e até breve no Porto! Lovely accomodations, excellent location, friendly and helpful host. This was an excellent home for three days in Porto and we highly recommend it!

Die Lage war ausgesprochen gut der Vermieter hat uns einen Parkplatz für den ersten Tag zur Verfügung gestellt, weil die Parksituation doch etwas schwierig ist. So haben wir das Auto stehen lassen. Schön war, dass es für den ersten Tag ein komplettes Stück gab. Der Garten war eine Oase und die ganze Anlage war sehr ruhig

Schwierig war die Aufbewahrung der Koffer. Hier gab es unter der Dachschräge eine kleine Möglichkeit, ein paar Hemden aufzuhängen. Im Bad war alles vorhanden, die Dusche war ziemlich eng.

It's a quiet oasis in the middle of the city. Within a 10min walk you're in the centre. The metro is also really close but we didn't use it. The vibe is relaxed and they thought of literally everything! One of the first places where the use of QR codes actually add value.The owners are the best! In for a chat and give you their best tips. They also helped us finding a parking spot for the car cause almost everywhere it's max 2hr parking on the streets and the indoor garages are very expensive.

A fantastic 3 days in Porto. Amazing accommodation and location. The host went out of their way to welcome us. They recommended places to visit and local restaurants, which were all fabulous . Will definitely be back.

Ubytování je vlastně taková oáza klidu ve městě Porto. Venkovní prostor nabízí úžasné posezení, relaxaci i odreagování po náročném dni. Pokoj není nijak velký, ale najdete zde vše, co potřebujete. Velmi jsme ocenili vybavení "kuchyně" (k dispozici je koření, mléko, káva, ! celý chléb ... a spousta dalších věcí, které předpokládáte, že si budete muset nakoupit. Majitelé jsou velmi vřelí a nápomocní, dostali jsme spoustu skvělých rad a doporučení. Opravdu děkujeme.

Pragtfuldt og dejligt roligt sted, med en rar, meget imødekommende og informativ vært. Miquel er en fantastisk vært. Bostedet var rent og meget velfungerende. Værten Miquel havde endda sørget for at der var mælk, juice, frugt, tomater, kaffe og endda portvin til rådighed på værelset ved ankomsten. Kort sagt får Ruby Charm Houses fuld point fra os, og vi vil med glæde bo der igen næste gang vi besøger skønne Porto. Mvh Henrik og Gitte

Cudowna obsługa właściciela. Pomocny i zaangażowany. Dużo podróżujemy ale dawno nie spotkaliśmy takiego przyjęcia. Wszystko przedstawił. Zarekomendował miejsca do zwiedzania i jedzenia. Opowiedział nam o mieście o zwyczajach. Pomógł w kwestiach o które prosiliśmy. Otrzymaliśmy też wspaniały poczęstunek w pokoju. Świeże owoce, chleb, wino i inne drobne smakołyki. Żal było wyjeżdżać. Na pewno wrócimy 🤗

Stedets have er helt fortrinlig - et lille paradis ved siden af storbyens larm. Værten er utrolig sød, betænksom og hjælpsom. Vi følte os både hjemme og velkommen.

Alt var virkelig dejligt. Det eneste er at sengen må ikke være smallere til et ægtepar over 50 ;-)

'Charm' is an apt description. Miguel was so helpful and friendly. He met me outside the moment I arrived and explained everything. Other bonuses were the lovely outside area to enjoy your breakfast or at any time of day, and the numerous 'freebies' on arrival - bread, jam, milk, cereal, orange juice, water, and even port. I highly recommend.

Gli appartamenti (di diverse misure) sono collocati in una bella area protetta con bel giardino comune a disposizione. L’unità che ci hanno assegnato era dotata di tutti  i confort descritti e la gentilezza, la disponibilità e la cortesia di Miguel e Maria è stata spettacolare. Al nostro arrivo ci hanno accolti con calore facendoci trovare alcuni alimenti x colazione e una fiaschetta di porto! Vicino al centro e comodo per supermercati e le stazioni della metropolitana.

Gli appartamenti sono di diverse misure, quindi non giudico gli altri, ma il monolocale che ci hanno assegnato (n.8) è stretto per tre persone (abbiamo dovuto lasciare i bagagli a terra), un po' buio e con il letto su un soppalco in struttura di legno truciolare grezzo decisamente stretto e con una scala ripida. Si avvertiva un pochino di odore di umidità. Il parcheggio decisamente complicato è stato risolto solo grazie alla grande cortesia di Miguel. Non sarebbe male mostrare qualche foto degli appartamenti nella pagina principale e non solo il bel giardino.

Están en la zona alta de la ciudad y el regreso caminando es duro (aunque no es algo achacable a ellos, pues siempre se puede coger el metro)

Petit îlot de verdure dans une cour intérieure en plein centre ville . Les studios sont très bien aménagés et très propres . Les hôtes sont très chaleureux avec des belles attentions à l arrivée en nourriture et carafe de Porto . Beaucoup d explications sur les visites à faire à Porto . Tout peut être fait à pied sans l obligation de prendre le métro . Très bon séjour nous recommandons ++

Entraba luz al amanecer por la puerta , si eres de sueño ligero, molesta . Nosotros con el antifaz, resuelto. El aparcamiento complicado. Avisar que lleváis coche para reservar sitio..

The host met me at the door and gave a brief orientation of how things in the apartment worked. Miguel and Maria-Jaoa are very friendly and are always available to answer questions and offer help and suggestions on visiting Porto. The location is close to the historic downtown and transit stops. The courtyard is a relaxing and beautiful place to hang out and rest. The apartment was very clean and stocked with kitchenware. Comfy bed and pillows. Large people and those with mobility problems may want to let the host know so they get a one-level unit.

There was nothing I didn’t like.

Don't care if I already reviewed it. This is a diamond in an instagram fueled travel world we sludge through. Everything was beyond perfect. I changed my travel plans for a month cause it made Porto. A little nice and comfy paradise close to the center. Miguel's warm hospitality let you feel at home with the first sec and this cute place truly is a gem can't wait for a return.

The only thing I regret is to have not more time for an extension

Fantastisch appartement, fijne tuin, en dichtbij metrostation. Ontvangst is vriendelijk en het dagelijkse praatje is prettig. Bij ontvangst ligt er een brood en 1e benodigdheden in de koelkast. Super service, dat vind je niet overal. Als je Porto wil ontdekken dan ben je bij Ruby charm houses op de juiste plek!!!

I have stayed at many places over the years and this has to rank among the best. The hosts were fantastic. Very knowledgeable, welcoming, friendly and offered good advice. The best meal we had in Portugal was at a place recommended. Thanks for a great stay

We had a wonderful stay at this central yet quiet place. We appreciated all the kind advice and recommendations of the staff. The finer detail of the flat is impressive. We were grateful for fresh milk, cold water and juice, and many other condiments.

Flawless, 10/10. Miguel is a super host. Place is comfortable, silent, clean and close to centre by walk or metro. Nice garden, bbq everything you need they provide in your room before you arrive. Port wine, bread, water, milk, juice, coffee, tea. Best experience so far. Neighborhood is surrounded by local places. Porto Metro is one of the best.

Stop searching and book Ruby Charm Houses. Cannot recommend highly enough. Excellent hosts, excellent location. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.

We stayed for a 7 night break. Ruby Charm rooms are well equipped and comfortable, with an extensive well laid out garden in which to relax after a day’s sightseeing. The area has a some good restaurants and shops close by. Miguel (the proprietor) goes the extra mile for his guests and made us feel at home he is always ready to help. Although Ruby is a little way out from the centre of the city it was not a problem as there are two metro stations in easy walking (5 minutes) distance We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to use again and recommend to other travelers.
