I had a wonderful stay and truly can’t say enough good things about this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the owner Shawn made me feel welcome with his warm, personal approach. He was incredibly helpful throughout my visit, going above and beyond to ensure everything was just right. What really impressed me was how he genuinely cared for his staff—you could see the mutual respect and the supportive environment he’s created. It made my experience feel not just comfortable, but also meaningful. Shout out to Soso the bartender for keeping this one chatty drunk entertained.
The bathroom was smaller than I am used to but was a pretty minor inconvenience.
Nothing
Smell like cat urine Towels where wet A/C not working Bed spring sticks out Personally i check out with in 2 hours lost all My money and im going to look for a refund Just working my options out
The price is good.
Staff (woman) she didn’t even look at us while we returned room key and checked out. Her attitude was unacceptable. I didn’t like only her!
This is a nice little Hotel. The owner is new and went above and beyond to make sure everything was ok. The breakfast was Great and the bread is made on site and is fantastic. And you can't beat the price. I highly recommend this place
The staff, the room was small but clean
It wasn't a quite room
Our family of four loved our stay at River Retreat - room was comfortable and spacious for a very reasonable price. We especially enjoyed the pool and relaxing in the leafy outdoor spaces. A great location out of the hustle bustle of central Siem Reap, but within walking distance to plenty of tasty riverside eats. Many thanks to Ena for organising onward travel to the Thai border.
Lovely stay. Would recommend
I liked everything, the place is clean, staff were fantastic small pool area is tranquil my room was comfortable
Cannot think of anything to dislike some people might not like the location because it's away from the main tourist area, but I enjoyed every tuk tuk ride that I had into the main areas
Great hotel, located in a quet street between the busy center (5 min by tuk-tuk) and Angkor Wat (15 min by tuk-tuk). Good value for money, the staff were super-friendly and helpful. Great breakfast, highly recommended.
Nothing really, everything was great.
Located 2 kilometers from the center of Siem Reap, what brings You some calmness, but still allows You to quickly get to the city center. Rooms in the ground floor are very spacious. Personell is helpful and there is always someone available 24h. They speak English. Nice chill area with a pool. Very good quality to price ratio.
Rooms on the 1st floor are quite small, Room, we had on a ground floor is spacious, but definetely needs some refreshments (repainting, bathroom renovation).
This is a beautiful place. I can't thank the staff enough, and am very appreciative. The rooms are spotless, nice wood, comfy beds, and a good small fridge. Restaurants all around, good street food, the National Museum nearby. Great value for your money. Yes, I'll be back.

The staff can make, or break a visit. They are wonderful, and welcoming. The place is spotless, very comfy beds, and nice rooms. The area has many good restaurants; the National Museum nearby. And, it's great value for your money. I'll be back.
The place was clean and have everything we need. The. Breakfast was delicious
Bed and room mattress was comfortable and the room was quiet.staff were friendly and seemed to be learning
The fact that the hotels own website shows it has a restaurant and serves lunch and dinner But this is not the case they have no restaurant but somehow make breakfast at $7.00 usd When i asked about a coffee in the morning , I was told the machine was broken and you had to go down the street .if you're selling breakfast, coffee should definitely be available .. As well, TV in the room while there is one it does not work at all They also have the website of the hotel showing the amenities, and when I inquired about the restaurant, they said it's the old web site perhaps it should either be updated or taken down altogether, Should not be showing things they do not have or cannot provide .booking.com should also adjust the list of amenities that this hotelprovides
Booked this stay last minute and feel like we hit the jackpot for this price point. Our room was on the top floor and we really enjoyed the patio up there with view overlooking the river. Positive points: very good internet, comfortable clean rooms, lovely pool and common areas and the location is excellent! We loved being on the river, it's lively enough yet quiet at night for sleeping. The bed in our room is softer than one usually finds here...we actually prefer the firmer mattresses but if you're looking for softer ones, here you go!
Good location friendly and helpful staff.
All. Good
Such a lovely hotel which was smaller than others so very peaceful away from the centre. There are only a few sunbeds but it was always quiet around the pool. Perfect place to stay to explore Siem Reap as it is close to Angkor Wat and only a short tuk tuk ride to the busy town.
Very nice property and staff
Not a bad location
There was a lot of confusion about what was advertised and the actual reality. It seems there was a change of ownership recently and some things had slipped through the net. The manager did try to rectify this but all in all it was a dissapointing experience.
This was the cleanest hotel I have ever seen. I’m not sure if there were many other guests, it was very quiet. Beautiful place, and nice rooftop terrace. Staff were great at suggesting restaurants and asking if I needed anything. Ing was amazing, I really enjoyed chatting with her.
Absolutely nothing
Staff
Washroom
All was nice
Little problem with the evacuation water on bathroom where we wash hands.
The staff are the hotel’s best asset…so friendly, helpful and welcoming. The pool is fantastic especially if you have kids on board. The location is great if you don’t want to be near the main drag.
There are little things that need to be improved to really make it a great place, such as replacement swim towels & bedroom towels available when needed, positioning the fridge within reach of a plug so you can use it, drainage in the shower, breakfasts that offer value rather than cost too much, and clear messaging on what additional items cost (our washing cost US$15 when we thought it would be $5)
Everything was just perfect! Super clean, nice and welcoming staff. We did a tour with a tuk tuk driver the hostel recommended and this was also perfect (very nice English-speaking driver). We didn‘t try the food but nearby there is a local market and some restaurants. Just opposite there is a small park with electric cars (great for children!)
The room upstairs with a broad balcony was a plus. The shower is really good. We liked the location, on the river and in between the center and Angkor Wat. The bar and little garden is a nice spot to have a beer. We had a swim in the afternoon, small pool but perfect. The hotel gives you a home feeling and the staff treats you like family.
Architecture, classical historic building,
Existence of MCP in the room was not explained upon check in, so second nught passed without electricity when the MCP tripped.
The peace and quiet in a very pretty location. The warm and welcoming staff and management. Always quick to respond to my needs.
I have nothing to complain about. Everything was great.
Staying here was amazing! The owners know the area and were able to set up tours for us that left right from the hotel. The restaurant was good also!
Quiet location yet within walking distance to the town centre, pub street and restaurants.
There’s nothing bad about to say!
Beautiful little hotel recently taken over by new owner. Well situated at the riverside, not far away from town centre and Angkor Wat. Very good recommendations and great help for all sort of activities. Extended my stay. Great cook!!! I’d love to come back.
The new owners were super friendly and helpful. They gave me good recommendations and arranged a driver to pick me up at the airport which was comfortable, safe and saved money. The room was comfortable and nicely furnished. Slept great. They also have a lovely room with 2 massage tables and masseuse available. They are still renovating but so far, it is beautiful and can’t wait to see it when I return. I felt safe there and very much at home. Good breakfast too!

The meals were exceptional, particularly the dinners. The swimming pool was like a peaceful oasis , away from the hustle and bustle. The hostess was very attentive and helpful to us.
The rooms are reasonably basic but very comfortable and loveable as long as you don’t intend staying in the room for extended periods. The shower and toilet are one of the best you’ll find and water pressure and temperature was spot on (important for me). As for the facilities they have a very nice restaurant area. As you’d expect prices are slightly higher than you can find out and about but for the sheer convenience it’s worth eating here. The infinity style pool is incredible and has great seating around the manicured gardens. As a digital nomad the big bonus for me was the fantastic workspace. I spent more time here than anywhere else. With a functional, comfortable and quiet setup this was a perfect working environment. The accommodating staff always make sure you’re well hydrated and well fed. Really have nothing negative to say about this wonderful hotel and amazing staff. If you’re staying in Siem Reap do yourself a favor and stay here.
Nothing
i really like the cleanliness, the comfort and the transportation to the airport . i will definitely visit again
the front desk lady makes me pay additional money just because i didnt use the shuttle at 5:30 also she lets me pay 5 euros because she prints my tickets for me . she wasnt friendly . she was arrogant
Nice Hotel with mostly French guests. The only thing I did not like that much was the live music in the restaurant of the hotel, though it was not that loud and would be finished at around 10.15 pm.
Excellent location between the temple area and the main town. Adam and Larry were great hosts and the Villa D staff were wonderful.
nothing
Excellent place and management!
Fantastic hosts, great and friendly service. Definately would recommend to anyone going to siem reap!
This lovely little hotel with its dining area, pool and comfortable room made the stay at Seam Reap an oasis. The service was attentive and charming and made the stay so welcoming. A wonderful place.
