Excellent apartment right in the Old town. Great views from the balcony. It does get a buy noisy in the evenings and this is what you should expect when staying next to cafes and restaurants. Closing the windows and wearing earplugs at night helps a lot so I'm not complaining, just a heads up for other travelers.

Everything. The treatment and the warm welcome from Giannis and the he left us were wonderful. The balcony is amazing to sit at night and the apartment is located on the best place in Rethymno.

The location is excellent. Giannis is so kind and helpful, with his parking recommendations and advice about the city. There was some welcoming homemade cake and raki that made it perfect for us. The views from the terrace are amazing.

A little bit noisy at the evening until the downstairs restaurants close, but nothing that prevents you to sleep.

Πολύ ωραίο δωμάτιο μέσα στο κέντρο του Ρεθύμνου, χωρίς όμως να ακούγεται φασαρία. Ο οικοδεσπότης πολύ ευγενικός και εξυπηρετικός. Το δωμάτιο μας ήταν άνετο και πολύ ωραία διαμορφωμένο και η θέα ήταν υπέροχη. Την επόμενη φορά που θα επισκεφτούμε το Ρέθυμνο θα το προτιμήσουμε ξανα.

Our stay at Polyxenia Suites was amazing! Pre-arrival communication was excellent and very helpful. Our rooms were great, super clean, with very good AC facilities, the location was very central in the old town of Rethymno, with lovely welcome treats upon arrival. Yannis is a fantastic host, super helpful and responsive with everything we needed.

The location was excellent, very central, the view from the balcony was very good as you can see the centra square, and the room was furnished to a very high standard and with attention to detail. The staff was very friendly and they free treat they give you is a very sweet gesture.

L'accoglienza davvero gentile, premurosa, ci ha dato un sacco di ottime indicazioni su dove mangiare. La sistemazione centrale è solo un po' scomodo doversi portare la valigia perché ovviamente è già nel Centro Storico, però ne vale la pena perché la vista sulla chiesa e sul paese era imperdibile. Camera molto pulita bagno nuovissimo.

The location is phenomenal! Right in the heart of old town, everything is within easy access. This is a small hotel and it was nice that the hotel owner himself (Giannis) meets you for check in, even giving you some home baked treats from his mother and some raki he makes himself. The two person room was great for my parents. And the four person room was just right for my family of four (the kids had their own connected room).

L’accueil de Giannis, le gâteau préparé par sa mère pour les hôtes, la gentillesse de la dame qui s’occupe du ménage et son efficacité, c’est super propre. Le balcon et la vue sur la mosquée. L’insonorisation des chambres, on n’entend pas le bruit de la rue, ni des voisins. La possibilité de déposer son bagage avant l’heure du check-in.

This is the best hotel experience that I have ever had. I am not joking. Location, room condition, cleanness, hospitality… everything was perfect. What could I say, if there should be a worldwide example it can be here.

L’appartement est très bien insonorisé.La proximité immédiate des restaurants, de la vieille ville et des commerces. La propreté de la chambre et ses équipements. La taille de la salle de bain assez grande. Le long balcon nous permettant de prendre le café le matin et d’écouter la musique le soir. La réactivité et la gentillesse de notre hôte. Bref, nous reviendrons.

Very comfortable property in the center of the old town which was great. Lovely welcome gift of home made cake by Giannis mum and Reki. Sitting in the balcony and watching the sod go round was great.

This suite at top floor was amazing, the view from balcony was great, the owner very helpful and nice, location perfect in middle of everything, fantastic stay.

We had a fantastic stay in Rethymno and the host, Giannis and his family, were incredibly welcoming. Their home was conveniently located right in the heart of the city.

Logement parfait, placé en plein centre mais calme , propreté irréprochable et Giannis aux petits soins. Nous étions 3 adultes et 1 enfant de 3 ans . Nous n'étions pas du tout serrés. Le ménage fait tous les jours , même le biberon était nettoyé étant donné que je n'avais pas de quoi faire . Petit cadeau de bienvenue. Vraiment super logement je recommande. Grand balcon tres agréable.

Pas de rideaux/volets dans la chambre donc chambre illuminée tot avec levé du soleil

Polyxenia Suites is in the "beating heart" of Rethymno's historic Old Town, surrounded by a charming network of narrow streets, local boutique shops, traditional tavernas, and lively bars just steps from the front door of this amazing property, which our very gracious, helpful, and wonderful host Giannis grew up in. Polyxenia Suites is immaculately clean, and obviously well-maintained. Our bed was quite comfortable. Giannis took our bags to our room on the second floor, which was a great help, and most appreciated (despite being both fit and strong for my age - 67 - it's not as easy getting my wife's and my luggage up multiple flights of stairs as it was a couple years ago - thank you Giannis!). For what we paid (having booked months in advance) Polyxenia Suites delivered exceptional value for money. If my wife and I are fortunate to ever return to Rethymno we will absolutely 100% stay again at Polyxenia Suites...we can't say enough good things about our experience.

The location in the old town cannot be better, everything at your doorstep.

If you have a car be aware that it has to be parked outside the old town and you'll need at least 10 minutes walk on cobbles with your luggage.

What a great stay we had at Polyxenia Suites. We were lucky enough to stay on the top floor with absolutely incredible views of Rethymno’s Old Town. There were great restaurants nearby, and I can’t say enough about our Host Giannis. He brought us cake that his mother made and was very responsive to our inquiries. He’s an incredible soul who made us feel right at home. We highly recommend Polyxenia Suites and would definitely book again!

Πρόκειται για ένα κατάλυμα άριστο σε όλα. Πολύ καθαρό, προσεγμένο, άνετο, με ωραία διακόσμηση και σε εξαιρετικό σημείο. Το σημαντικότερο, ωστόσο, και αυτό που κάνει την διαφορά, είναι η άριστη φιλοξενία από τον οικοδεσπότη κύριο Γιάννη. Ευγενέστατος, γεμάτος διάθεση και πρόθυμος να βοηθήσει, ενω πάντα απαντούσε άμεσα σε ό,τι χρειαζόμασταν. Στο δωμάτιο βρήκαμε να μας περιμένει σπιτική ρακί και σπιτικό κέικ, το οποίο έκανε ακόμα πιο ευχάριστη τη διαμονή μας, καθώς δείχνει πραγματικό ενδιαφέρον. Παρόλο που είχαμε ένα πρόβλημα προς το τέλος της διαμονής μας (το οποίο προκαλέσαμε εμείς), ο κύριος Γιάννης παρέμεινε πρόσχαρος και ευγενέστατος, δίνοντας περισσότερο σημασία στο αν περάσαμε εμείς καλά, κατά τη διαμονή μας. Μακάρι να μπορούσα να βάλω περισσότερα αστέρια, καθώς τα 10 φαίνονται λίγα συγκριτικά με την άριστη εμπειρία που είχαμε. Σας ευχαριστούμε για όλα και ανυπομονούμε να επιστρέψουμε στο κατάλυμα σας σε μελλοντικές εξορμήσεις .

The host Giannis is amazing, and the room spacy and beautiful. The view from the balcony is spectacular, and the location is just perfect.

Τα βράδια της Παρασκευής και του Σαββάτου ήταν έως τις 04.00 τα ξημερώματα χωρίς ύπνο απο την μουσική και τους περαστικούς που πραγματικά ήταν λες και φωναζαν μέσα στο δωμάτιο. Ως Μηχανολόγος μηχανικός ειλκρινά σας προτείνω να κανετε θερμοπρόσοψη, έχετε διπλά τζάμια στα παράθυρα αλλά ειλικρινά δεν αρκούν.

Giannis nous a très bien accueilli (avec le raki de son père et le gâteau de sa mère), mais aussi avec son sourire et sa bonne humeur. Giannis nous a bien conseillé sur plusieurs restaurants. L’appartement était propre, bien agencé et idéalement situé.

Pour quelqu’un qui recherche le calme absolu, l’appartement donne sur une rue vivante, ce qui peut être gênant. Mais cela ne nous a pas particulièrement dérangé pour dormir.

Location was amazing - downtown old city with a balcony and private - views were great.

Lots of stairs no elevator - we were on the third floor, with the extra stairs we were on the 4th floor walk up over 64 steps. Not ideal if you have leg issues. It was difficult walking up and down a few times a day. If you have a baby its not ideal.

Polyxenia Suits are located in the heart of the old town, everything you think of is nearby. You can step out and have a hot coffee with pastries or ice cream or gyros just underneath of the suits before exploring the neighborhood . We contacted Giannis in advance with request whether we can leave our luggage in the premises before checking-in. It just happen our flight landed earlier and taxi brought us to the suits 1.5 hours before agreed time. Simply dialled Giannis phone number and were let in. We checked-in early into sparlking suit and were offered pastries baked by Giannis mother. There were tea, coffee, water and even a bottle of rakia as a warm welcome from the host. Next day our room was cleaned and a fresh homebaked coconut cake was meeting us with its aroma :-). Giannis was very kind and offered us to stay after check out time as our flight was late in the evening. Huge thank you, Giannis! we hope to be back :-)

Muy bonita habitación, aunque haya estado por trabajo, me pareció ideal para parejas también. La ubicación muy buena y la limpieza súper.

Está en el centro historico, en un sitio transitado y puede haber un poco de ruido de la calle por la noche.

Unser Zimmer war sehr geräumig und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Tolles neues Bad. Kühlschrank (mit Wasser und Kaffeesahne), Wasserkocher, Kaffeemaschine (mit Kaffee und Zucker), Raki und ein selbst gebackener Kuchen zum Empfang. Der Balkon ist völlig ausreichend (2 Stühle und ein kleiner Tisch) Der Inhaber hat uns sehr sehr herzlich empfangen.

Die Matratzen schienen schon etwas durchgelegen gewesen zu sein.

Location is great. My son and I have been here twice and would happily return again. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and Giannis is an excellent host.

A fantastic Location. On the top floor overlooking the old town. A wrap around deck meant that you had a great view of the colorful lanes below and could take in the atmosphere whilst being very private.

As per usual in Greece, the bed linen was too short for the bed and had only two pillows. But the bed itself was very comfortable.

An amazing welcome and very understanding about our delayed arrival. Everyone was so helpful, cheerful and friendly. The room was very clean and great care was taken into making our stay relaxed and pleasant. Location was right in the middle of the Old Town which had many lovely advantages. The views were also lovely, giving us many aspects of the immediate area and especially sitting on the balcony when the sun set over the distant mountains.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike.

? Hier gibt es nichts, nicht zu gefallen. Außer, vielleicht, dass ich von dem vorzüglichen Raki gern noch eine kleine Flasche mit nachhause genommen hätte ;-)

The room was very clean .The hosts had cake for us ,which was very nice ,thank you.No complaints about the propertyat all One thing I would like to mention though was ,there were 3 adults and we only had the one key to share amongst us, which made it a little difficult if one wanted to stay out later or go out .Mr Giannis was very detailed in his messages about where to park,which was VERY helpful.He also sent us a message for the morning of departure which was great as we were able to bring the car into the old town to load our luggage.

Tolle Ausstattung mit viel Liebe zum Detail! Super freundlicher Gastgeber, der jederzeit mit Rat und Tat zur Seite steht und gefühlt rund um die Ihr erreichbar ist. Sehr sauber! Hausgemachten Kuchen (der hervorragend war!) Kaffee, Wasser,Raki war zum herzlichen Empfang schon gerichtet im Zimmer.

Einziger Wehmutstroofe, den ich bei Buchung übersehen habe. Hotel liegt mitten in der Altstadt, wie viele andere auch, allerdings sind hier die Restaurants bzw. v.a. die Bars in der Umgebung lange offen und der Publikumsverkehr entsprechend. Bei geschlossenen Fenstern machbar, dann muss aber die Klimaanlage die ganze Nacht laufen....und wenn man das nicht mag, braucht es offene Fenster/Balkontüren und dann ist man einfach mitten drin im Geschehen..... Wenn man auch Party macht oder Klima an kein Problem ist, dann ist man gut aufgehoben dort.

La posizione è molto centrale e la vista dal balcone è sicuramente una tra le migliori del posto. L'ospite estremamente disponibile e gentile.

Le tende non sono oscuranti e avendo molte finestre, già alle prime ore dell'alba c'è molta luce che filtra nella stanza rendendo difficile dormire. L'estrattore del bagno è da cambiare, molto rumoroso.

The property was situated very central at the old city of Rethymno. Everything was close by. The host was incredibly kind and helpful. The room was spacious and soundproof (important when living at the city center). Everything was clean and comfortable. It was really nice that we were also given some Tsikoudia and a home made cake. I would recommend this property in a heartbeat.

Nice room with a good location. View of the old town streets, the fortress, and the sea. The host was very kind. We received cake and raki as a welcome gift. We can warmly recommend this accommodation.

We absolutely loved our stay at Polyxenia Suites! Giannis was such a kind and gracious host. He was very flexible with us and always quick to respond. We loved the personal touches: delicious coffee and homemade wine and cake from his mother and family. The view of the city is beautiful and the AC was a life saver. We had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation in Crete and look forward to staying here again in the future.

Exceptional suite on the first floor, with two balconies. Perfect for people watching and a great position within the old town of Rethymno. Everything you’d need is provided and is quality. Towels are soft, bed is really comfortable and the shower is large. Giannis provided two bottles of water, a sample of (his father’s) raki, and a lovely slice of cake (his mother’s).
