In the line business employees must be considerate and be able to propose solutions that are fair and best for both parties.
The conduct of staff and the manner as to how i was not assisted with my booking.
Nothing .The place its not what we saw on Booking.com it was total different from what we expected but we make use of what was there because we already booked and there was nothing we can do
Everything it's like I was in my house nothing was exciting about the place especially what attracted us fro booking com
Delicious breakfast
The part where the hosts left us alone in peace 😂😂😂joking, but they did. Everything that we requested for they provided. The beds are comfortable and clean.
Nothing really.
Nothing
It is very close to Lanseria Airport Easy accessible, clean and neat

Everything
My daughter & I came for a professional golf tournament at Blair Atholl which was only 5 minutes away. We stayed in the chalet Fish Eagle Lodge and we gave a 10 out of 10 100% satisfaction rating on every point, cleanliness, comfort, housekeeping, service, view, etc. We did not take into account the last 800m of the access road, if you can call it a road, which is full pot holes, big stones, etc. This of course is beyond Hills & Dales' reach as this road should be rebuilt by the authorities. I highly recommend the chalet at Hills & Dales & if the tournament is played at Blair Atholl next year, we wouldn't even bother looking elsewhere. Thank you Diane, Tim & Douglas & your team !
The last 800m of the so called road leading up to Hills & Dales.
Nice and clean
The property is situated in a very bushed area far from the airport on a dangerous dark road. Bush must be cut down from the first gate. No clear lights when arriving after 10 at night.
Beautiful setting, lush gardens and quiet sanctuary. We were in the area for a wedding nearby and the location was perfect. Very friendly staff happy to provide lots of local recommendations. Overall recommend and would definitely stay again.
Nothing not too like it suited us perfectly
The location was great, very close to the airport. We were too late to book meals, but options around the area. The bed was fantastic.
It was a bit noisy in the sense of the tractor going up and down and the lawnmower.
My review is based specifically on my interaction with the host when I enquired about the possibility of a room upgrade. The booking was arranged for me as a gift, as I needed a quiet mental retreat and a natural setting in which to focus on work. I did not make the booking myself. Unfortunately, a room was selected instead of an apartment, although they were similarly priced.I live in Johannesburg and had intentionally left my own home for a few days in order to rest and work in a peaceful environment. Upon check-in, I realised that the room allocated to me was a small room situated between two couples. Given the purpose of my stay, this was not ideal. In an effort to make the best of the situation, I approached reception to ask whether it might be possible to upgrade to an apartment. I made it clear that I was willing to pay the difference.A gentleman initially assisted me and indicated that they would try to arrange something for the following day. When my sister asked whether it might be possible that same day, he stepped away and returned with his wife, who is the host. The interaction that followed was disappointing. Rather than engaging with the request itself, she focused on the fact that the room booked was exactly as described and that I should have read the fine print. I was not disputing this, nor was I complaining about the room. I was simply enquiring whether an upgrade — at my own cost — might be possible, which is a fairly standard request in hospitality settings. The tone of the exchange felt dismissive and condescending. When I chose to step away from the conversation, she continued speaking in a raised voice. This left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. I understand that the property may have been fully booked, and I accept that an upgrade may not have been possible. However, even when a request cannot be accommodated, professionalism and courtesy make a significant difference.
As someone who has had consistently positive experiences booking through Booking.com, this interaction stood out. Having since read other reviews, I note that similar concerns about tone and communication have been raised, which suggests my experience was not isolated.Given the circumstances, I ultimately chose to shorten my stay and return to my home in Johannesburg earlier than planned. As a host, you deal with people who come with different needs and circumstances. Not every request is a criticism. Even when something cannot be accommodated, the manner in which it is communicated matters greatly. Hospitality begins with how people are spoken to. Kindness goes a long way.
Set in a beautiful garden with wonderful bird life. My room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped for self catering. The communal facilities are varied and I am sure conducive to celebrations and family gatherings
The place is very quiet, perfect for refreshing and relaxing. Their room service is responding very quickly, thats a good thing. Oh, and the place is just small and beautiful. Really enjoyed my stay there.
It is kind of a bit far from everything.
Almost everything
Dogs The small bathrooms and the hard matress
The area is good
The relaxing atmosphere, we were able to take walks just to bond. The colorful fish in the pond was nice to look at. The pool water was welcoming, looking at what seemed like the edge of the world🙂↔️. The room was so clean and braai areas have bluetooth speakers so we had music all around. The friendly staff and we even made friends with the other guests. Oh and those tiny monkeys that came and went around the trees, very cute.
Nothing.
Peace and quite , feels like you out of the city yet at the same time you are in the city. Perfect for a quick get away
The dirt road , can become a problem to small cars during wet and rainy conditions I think but overall still good ,
Friendly and helpful staff and exceptional meals
Liked everything ³
Good location, friendly staff and hosts, good view from balcony
Kitchen a bit lacking Restaurants and shops a bit far away
Very accommodating. Friendly staff. Keeps you informed and ensures all is in place well in advance.
Make sure you follow the directions they give you, don't rely on Google maps. Lol.
There's rustic, farm style, country side and There's mediocre. This was Mediocre! Starling. We were greeted by the unbearable (Stuffy/ musky)odour like dirty blankets😑,white drool marks on the cushions, kitchen counter tops are sticky, polar fleece blanket smelt like a wet dog, I just wonder if the basics are not well kept how would the bed be if you were to use the blue light?
Everything! PS There's no need for the lady responsible for marketing and the Website upkeep to respond as I have noticed on other people's reviews that she's very defensive and sarcastic, the whole point of review is for them to know where they are (Good/bad) as a business. We had to check out at 07:00 for us to go home and take a bath. If there was a 0 rating, that's what we were going to rate
Peaceful place to get away from the busy city. Truely a hidden gem nestled in our midst.
The environment is breathtaking, the host was friendly and very welcoming.
The upper pool needs some lights for when someone wants to swim at night.
Wifi wasn't working well
Overall the experience was good. I was not happy about the cleaness. It seems the staff only clean the surface and don’t move the furniture. The place looks good on pictures but the reality is that it has worn out. It looks very old. The pool and the cushions were not clean.
The location itself, the quiet and tranquility of the space. The self catering option was also something I appreciated
Nothing
It wasn’t bad , but furniture was old
Old building
Quiet place, nice for resetting.
Please try to clear the spider webs before guest check in. There were too many webs on the rails and wall on front door, I think that’s why there were spiders in the room. Cleanliness can be improved. Parking is uncovered, posing a risk in case of hail storms.
Space and location.
A pool being made private by other bookers.
We enjoyed our stay, the owners are very pleasant people.
Issues with our booked unit so we were upgraded to a much better facility

Everything about the place

We loved the remoteness, the welcoming of our host Douglas, the trees, the birds, the animals. very nice little chalet in the woods, a 5min drive to the airport (for 150rand, with lovely Douglas!)
We loved everything
Location great and close to airport. Facilities are great for working as a single traveller. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Communication from staff was good. I had a lovely stay
Staff are extremely pleasant and willing to go the extra mile to ensure that your stay is as pleasant as possible. The food that is available at the establishment is simply superb. Very quite and relaxed atmosphere. The bed and the bedding are very comfortable.
Beautiful property, fantastic pool.
The Appartement has not been renovated in a long time and it showed. Everything was more run down than the pictures showed.
I loved everything about the place, peace and quiet. The facilities were clean, the bed was comfortable. The unit is spacious. Our stay was nothing short of amazing, and the views were breath taking.
I cannot fault the place. Everything was as advertised.
Remote location away from the city, fresh breeze & greenary.we absolutely enjoyed our stay
Everything
Too many flies
We loved the privacy and beautiful gardens surrounding the Fish Eagle Lodge. The house is spacious and very comfortable. The deck is amazing!
Rooms were clean and comfortable
Getting to the venue is not easy, lacks signage
Spacious rooms, peaceful gardens just 2km from Lanseria Airport. Quality bedding and towels were appreciated, as were cookies and tea/coffee supplies in kitchen. Lovely river view from our apartment’s balcony (Starling). Friendly, professional staff, prompt communication. Recommended
The owners were welcoming they made us feel at home, they were available to assist at any reasonable time, the house keeping lady is so humble and friendly, the rooms had all the basic kitchen essentials, bathroom as well had everything needed, the gardens were beautiful the property in general is tranquil, spotless clean room, clean swimming pools and we liked the bench facing the Jukskei river
Going back to reality 😔
The location ,fresh air, is a good place for gateway
The place is nice, peaceful and safe. We will definitely come back.
Nothing
The area is so quite and beautiful.
The beauty of the place.
Beautiful and incredible stay. The space is truly impeccable and so peaceful.
didn't order brekkie
too much ants in kitchen area
The setting is very good. Quiet, relaxing: exactly what we were looking for.
There's not really much not to like. We really enjoyed our stay. I just wonder how much more beautiful it would be during spring. No low marks for the property, at all.
There was no breakfast provided
The wifi signal was very weak at times I had to use my own data , the bathroom didn't have a shower space on its own , I had to stand in the bathroom and use the shower wand
