Breakfast was good. The room was clean and the bed was large and comfortable. Room was a good size and had a powerful shower.

Iets uitgebreider ontbijt met bv Vers fruit en yoghurt ipv die kant en klare yoghurtjes . Warme melk voor in de koffie ( Nederlanders houden niet van koude melk in de koffie) Misschien iets van kaas en ham voor op brood.

Property is very tired and in need of renovation. Carpets are dirty and the walls and marked and needing new paint. The bathrooms look to have been recently done, however the toilet seat in our room was not the correct size for the toilet and therefore had a massive gap to sit on. Holes had not been filled and excess grout had not been wiped away after grouting. But the main issue was the cleanliness. There were hairs in the bathroom and nail clippings in the waste bin. The beds were however very comfy. Worth to note that also the hotel is dog friendly, dogs can only be present in the bar and snug area of the hotel. When having breakfast you have to move yourself to the snug area and walk back and forward to the dining room to get coffee/tea etc or ask to order breakfast.

La nostra camera era molto pulita, anche se la moquette e alcune finiture avrebbero avuto bisogno di alcuni lavori. Personale molto cortese e disponibile. Colazione abbondante e buona.

Personalmente non amo la vasca da bagno e utilizzare la vasca come doccia è veramente scomodo, nonostante la parete in vetro per non bagnare il bagno è difficile non bagnare tutto.

Aan de accommodatie beviel de locatie het meeste, het lag op onze doorgangsroute en in de buurt van bezienswaardigheden op onze lijst.

Aan de accommodatie beviel veel niet. Allereerst het personeel dat met te weinig was om de receptie, bar en restaurant te kunnen runnen, gestresst en chaotisch was en geen oog had voor klanten. De hygiëne van zowel de bar en restaurant was ver ondermaats (plakkerige en niet opgeruimde tafels), maar ook de kamer was niet schoon (haren en viezigheid onder de “schone” dekens, wattenstaafjes op de grond van de vorige bezoekers, haren in de hoeken van de badkamer). Het gebouw zelf is oud en zeer slecht onderhouden: verf bladerd van de kozijnen, glazen ramen zijn kapot, het tapijt was lang geleden al aan vervanging toe en de douchekop wordt door middel van een wasnetje aan de stang vastgehouden. Het ontbijt is een complete chaos, met zo goed als geen opties qua eten en geen beschikbare tafels (terwijl we de avond van te voren een tijd moesten reserveren). Ik heb het hotel gekozen op basis van de algemene Booking.com beoordeling- een 8.6?!-, maar vond de prijs van €260 voor twee nachten met deze omstandigheden veel en veel te hoog. Booking, ik denk dat het tijd wordt voor een herbeoordeling?

Das Personal war bemüht

Das erste Zimmer hatte ein Loch im Fenster und einen losen Wasserhahn. Zu unserem Glück hat jemand storniert und wir haben ein anderes Zimmer bekommen. Dort war nur der Schlauch an der Dusche halb abgerissen und die Toilette lose. Frühstück war übersichtlich und nicht lecker.

Mis-à-part qu'il n'y avait personne à la réception lors de notre arrivée et qu'il a fallu patienter et chercher pendant 10 minutes avec qu'une jeune fille arrive, notre séjour s'est globalement bien déroulé. Hôtel convenable et très bien situé, avec un vaste parking à l'arrière du bâtiment, chambre spacieuse, grand lit, grande baignoire, personnel très agréable.

L'ensemble de l'établissement mériterait clairement une bonne rénovation : terrasse vétuste avec bancs et parasols sales ou détérioré, planchers grinçants, luminaires défaillants (couloirs et chambre), décorations surannées, voire sinistre et lugubre, sèche-cheveux qui ne fonctionnait pas, peintures défraichies, etc. (mais ne crachons pas dans la soupe : l'ensemble était tout de même globalement propre et nous avons bien mangé/dormi !)

There was nothing to like about this hotel. We arrived at 15:00 and by 15:45 were offered our third room because the first two had electrical faults. After paying for the BEST ROOM, from the first room, we have been offered everything from downright filth to dangerous conditions. breakfast was less than advertised and dinner? What dinner? unless you like pizza or fishfinger and chips you are out of luck. IF YOU WANT PROOF OF THIS I HAVE TAKEN PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE REAL STATE OF THE PLACE. We were booked in for 6 nights. We stayed for the highland games, they had to be cancelled. We only stayed for 1 night at the hotel because of the state of the place. We tried to get a different hotel, but everywhere was fully booked because of a golf tournament. We tried to get our money back, but because we booked it through Booking the so called manager told us that we couldn't claim a penny. All in all, we lost around £900. I advise no one to stay at this place.

We liked the location. The room was basic clean and had been refurbished.

Wasn't sure if I was going in the hotel. Outside looks very bad. Windows looked rotten weeds everywhere and garden furniture falling apart. The hotel needs complete refurbishment. Only food on offer Thursday night was Indian 3 course meal 35.99. Asked for normal menu we were shown at the bar. This will not be served anywhere in hotel tonight!!! Staff told us we could have the other menu!! Stuck we had one drink couldn't drive!! Never had this at a hotel !!!

Good located for day trips into the Cairngorms Park. Good and large bed; clean room. Friendly staff.

Loud noises in the room from appliances in the kitchen and outside the building until late in the night. Breakfast and dinner offer was not what was implied on pictures. Variety for breakfast is limited since mainly egg dishes are available, but certainly no continental.

Very run down coupled with apathetic management. The building is very much past its best in a bad state of repair, some windows having glass replaced with cardboard, others with screwed in plywood. Generally very messy with debris on the carpets for days. Rooms not attended to, shower broken, hot water elusive, locked out of the hotel on one occasion. I didn’t have the stomach to eat there and lost 4 pounds in as many days. Just ask the locals what they think about the place, it’s really not a good for advert for Grantown-on-Spey. If this was your first visit to the town then staying at the Garth would almost certainly guarantee it would be your last. Honestly there’s nothing to commend this place it’s the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at, I did seem to have some four legged friends in the ceiling, don’t be fooled though they are not pine martens or squirrels, I know what I think they were…… ***s.

Dat we weer vertrokken. En oké, de badkamer was gerenoveerd. De douche was alleen zo klein als een kledingkast.

Het is een vies, oud, slecht onderhouden hotel. De sloopkogel is de enige optie.

En venlig rengørings pige, som forklarede hvorfor hun ikke havde nået at være færdig med vores værelse inden kl.15:30 og en venlig "alt mulig" mand som havde travlt med flere opgaver.

Vinduet til vores værelse var gået i stykker, så der var et hul i den. Døren til skabet faldt af, da vi prøvede at åbne den. Værelset var meget lille.

Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und haben sich bemüht, uns einen guten Aufenthalt zu ermöglichen. Die Betten waren groß und bequem. Die Dusche funktionierte gut.

Der Boden im Badezimmer und der Teppich im Zimmer 8 waren nicht sauber (Haare und Flecken). Das Rollo im Badezimmer war nur einseitig befestigt und hing daher rechts herunter. Die Klobrille war locker und verrutschte oft. Im Heizkörper lagen noch alte Q-Tipps. Die Rezeption war bei Abreise unbesetzt. Beim Frühstück gab es lange Wartezeiten, weil ab 8:30 kein Tisch mehr frei war. Insgesamt zu wenig Personal. Schade.

Struttura molto accogliente con un gradevole giardino, pulita e con personale molto gentile. Facilmente raggiungibile e con posto auto molto comodo. La colazione ha soddisfatto le nostre aspettative.

The hotel rooms are not very sound proof. A party was going until about midnight kn one of the rooms, and we heard all the noise. Rooms seem a bit run down, would need some renovation.

New carpets very poorly fitted - trip hazard especially on stairs (all carpets unvacuumed) Shower screen in the bathroom was ineffective so bathroom ended up soaked no matter how careful one was, floor slippy No plug in bathroom sink No glasses in the bathroom Strange odour in the bedroom (unwashed outer bedding) No key security. Desk unmanned, outer door open to the world Breakfast appalling. Stale scones, bacon like roofing slates. Sausages not much better. Fried egg under done, scrambled inedible. * Bedroom found unlocked after room had been serviced and we had been out all day Staff friendly but too few in number. Dinner, we asked for both fizzy and flat water at the table but were told we’d have to get up and buy fizzy at the bar. Unprecedented lack of customer care! Whole place needs redecoration. Paint very badly chipped and unclean.

We liked nothing about the place. It was filthy, the room windows were cracked with one boarded up. The food was just as bad breakfast was cold and not worth eating. As you walk into reception, take a look at the antlers and you will see that they are hanging with cobwebs.

There is nothing worth say about this place is to be avoided at all costs.

Der Einsatz des, unterbesetzten, Personals war vorbildlich🤭. Langjährige Erfahrung lehrt einen, erst mal alle Funktionen eines Hotelzimmers zu testen..."bevor" man die Koffer auspackt. Es war Fußball WM ☝🏻! Im 1. Zimmer gab es kein heißes Wasser und der Fernseher ging nicht. Zusammen, mit einem der Mitarbeiter, suchte ich ein anderes Zimmer (2) Dusche ja / Fernsehen nein. (3).Zimmer dieses mal umgekehrt. Im 4. Zimmer lagen sich der Mitarbeiter und ich lachend in den Armen - alles funktionierte.😂 Die Betten waren gut, Wanne im Bad und alles super sauber Das Frühstück wurde uns frisch serviert mit einem besonders leckeren Haggis...von der unglaublich freundlichen Dame, die tags vorher noch die Zimmer gereinigt hatte....irgendwie fühlte man sich in einen Film versetzt☺️. An der Bar gab es ein leckeres IPA, das so kalt war, dass das Pint für eine ganze Halbzeit hielt. Parken hinter dem Hotel (kostenlos) wird auf Grund der Größe wohl nie ein Problem sein.

Ja, das Hotel hat schon "deutlich" bessere Zeiten erlebt. Teppichböden, Fenster ... Was besonders Schade ist: Der grosse ungepflegte Außenbereich

When we arrived around thirty people in garden and outside throwing stuff at each other, strong smell of vomit and pretty sure poo on the pavement. Outside is very scruffy, room was ok but panes of glass in window were broken.

Hotel looked derelict on arrival, the windows were peeling. Some were wide open and some looked damaged. The weeds were everywhere on the front stones. There had been an event earlier in the day so there was eggs smashed all over the pavement and feathers stuck to it. The smell was awful. General cleanliness was not what hotels should be - marks on furniture, black mould around handles on bath. Towels were tiny, thin and old. If we hadn't arrived in the evening we would not have stayed.

I have stayed at the Garth on 2 separate occasions and have been impressed with the staff who work exceptionally hard in difficult circumstances, The accommodation has been upgraded in some parts of the hotel and the breakfast was excellent. Well done to the chef! All staff members were very personable.

On this occasion we were given a room at the rear of the hotel which was in need of some tlc. Unfortunately, we had to return to reception as the room had not been cleaned. Apologies were sincere and matters were put right. The standard of the accommodation was drab and borderline acceptable. This is an old hotel in need of extensive further upgrading. The staff are remarkable but can only do so much given the resources at their disposal. The season is short in Grantown and consequently finance for renovation will be limited. Keen pricing also limits flexibility.

Set on the High street in a beautiful Scottish town in the centre of the whisky country. Very good shower in the bathroom. Very friendly young lady helper who seemed to be working all over the place without stopping, but always made time to help. The breakfast was ample but not exciting compared to the generosity of servings we had experienced elsewhere.

At first site an impressive building with distinguished history but there were signs that some refurbishment was required to match its historical significance. The garden demanded further attention as did the car park and the single room that one of my guests was given was rather basic in its attributes (although this had been a last minute booking and we were grateful to the management for making it possible).

The hotel needs gutted. Dilapidated furniture in rooms, badly marked carpets, We didn't stay 2 nights only 1 as the hotel was so run down. I had to book other accommodation for our second night . I feel we deserve a refund. There was no kettle, 1 cup for two of us, and the TV went off at 9pm There was no staff on to fix it. The whole experience was awful. I don't know how booking. Com can advertise this hotel. The gardens are full of weeds, and the hotel has a window boarded up which is visible from the street. One guest on arrival said to his wife " surely this isn't where we are staying ?" Unfortunately it was.!! 😕 Mr Melvile should be ashamed of himself letting this hotel get in to such a place of repair, and expecting people to pay to stay in this dump. I hope to receive a refund for the anguish this has caused us, as we had to book another hotel for our second night.

Lovely cosy hotel, very welcoming and relaxing, All the staff were great, nothing was any trouble they all went out of their way to make it an enjoyable stay. I would like to take this opportunity to mention the waitress‘dava’ who waited on our table of 9 at breakfast, great friendly efficient host a absolute credit to the hotel.

No hot water. A full refund was agreed as I didn’t want to stay my second night because of the hot water issue. It’s been months now and despite numerous messages i still haven’t received my refund. It’s a shame that a once wonderful hotel has fallen into such terrible ownership.

Het bed en de kamer waren op orde. Het hotel is echt vergane glorie. Dat zie je bijv aan het houtwerk (zo jammer dat het niet opgeknapt wordt) en ander onderhoud. We hebben meerdere keren een bericht gestuurd over het reserveren van een tafel voor het diner. Uiteindelijk kregen we het bevestigd tot bij aankomst bleek dat er een probleem met het gas was en we alleen soep en broodjes bestellen. We zijn bij een Bengaals restaurant gaan eten. De mensen in het dorp zijn over het algemeen vriendelijk, maar er is heel weinig te doen. De weg naar Grantown on Sprey door het Cairngorm NP is wel echt de moeite waard. Wat prachtig, die natuur.

Volgens Booking.com was het uitchecken om 11.00 uur. Om 9.20 uur werd er al op de deur geklopt om de kamer op te ruimen. Mijn man heeft de schoonmaker weg gestuurd omdat ik onder de douche stond. Uiteindelijk vertrokken we om 9.45 uur. De man achter de balie was niet vriendelijk. De man achter de bar wel.

Hotel seemed understaffed. One poor girl was trying to do everything. During a 3 night stay, our room was never cleaned once, nor fresh towels given. I had to ask for toilet roll. One socket in the room wasn’t working. Problems in the kitchen resulted in a reduced breakfast menu and no dinner being served. Broken windows, broken arms on garden chairs, lots of weeds outside, main areas not hoovered; overall the hotel seemed tired and uncared for.

No hairdryer in room - when I asked for one it made an awful noise and had a burning small - had to get replacement Only 2 hooks in room to hang clothes - both broken. No wardrobe. Towel dirty & unusable Lots of garden furniture broken and windows in Hotel broken or boarded up. Our room window was cracked and safety catch on it broken. Carpets stained

Location was convenient and central to the area I was visiting. My wife and I had booked in for a two night stay as we were visiting friends who were staying in the area.

Where do I start? This hotel is truly awful and quite honestly the worst place I have ever stayed in. We stayed here twice previously a few years ago and it was tired then but had charm and excellent staff who were helpful and welcoming and the food was good. Unfortunately now the standards have plummeted to an all time low. From the outside it appears shabby and very neglected with a boarded up window on the first floor and flaking paintwork on windows and the exterior of the building and unkempt grounds that are high with weeds. The interior of the building is no better. The reception area is unwelcoming and there are cracked glass panels in the doors to the bar area. Public areas are not clean and as for the bedrooms…. We were initially allocated room 10 which is a small double room with en-suite bathroom. Carpets were dirty and threadbare bare and the room was not properly cleaned and had hairs in the bath, the bins had not been emptied and there was a tub of half eaten hummus in the mini fridge which was switched off, meaning the hummus was rancid. Goodness only knows how long it had been there. Disgusting!!!! After complaining, we were moved to room 19 which was larger and slightly better, but had badly stained carpet, peeling wallpaper, discoloured areas on the walls and doors and as for the birds nest of fluff and dust hanging out of the bathroom extractor fan, well enough said. Breakfasts were pretty poor and choice was limited. This was not helped by the fact the hotel kitchens had no gas to cook with so certain items were not available. We did not eat in during our stay other than breakfast but I gather from speaking to other guests that due to the gas issue, evening meals were reduced to soup and a limited choice of sandwiches. Speaking to locals I was informed that whilst the hotel previously had a good reputation for its meals, that is no longer the case and it is fairly standard pub grub now. Nothing special was the over riding opinion.

The staff were very friendly they went out there way to set up a room for the birthday dinner . Tara was outstanding she was very polite and couldn't do enough for us all . The food was ok

When arriving the hotel looks like its closed & dirty with the outside looks terrible weeds everywhere broke.windows covered with cardboard. I booked this as a surprise for 8 of us and an infant I definitely wouldn't say its 4 * id say more 2/3 as it needs a good refresh inside and out . The staff made it and the boy who was serving behind the bar with Tara sorry forgot his name very pleasant 😊
