The room was lovely and it was a present for our wedding. We had been given a night and bottle of Prosecco - breakfast had been paid for separately
Staff answering the phone then the gentleman who was head of staff - neither took responsibility for the mess up over breakfast and we were very embarrassed. We had to ring the person who gave us the present to settle things and she was so upset because it should have been a seamless operation. The staff had all notes and payment details and they did not even apologise to the person paying. They finally phoned to apologise but it was too late.

the hill double room is small and very expensive. not good value for money. No espresso machine in the room. zero privacy in the bathroom -
Breakfast for 2 = £50, so we didn't have this. Too expensive.
Nice bar area. Friendly staff. Excllent bar food which exceeded my expectations
Very expensive
Beds were comfortable
Would have preferred the breakfast main hot items to rotate. The exact same items were served each day. This assumes guests only go once. Public transport was quite a distance away.
Cleanliness and comfort
Extra prices added on, bill being given to you in the restaurant whilst you are still eating. Paid £649 for 2 nights in a cramped suite. Then charged an extra £15 per day for parking, £25pp for breakfast pn. Room service for ice was £8.
Staff were amazing. Hotel is clean, it smells good and it is stylish
Nothing bad to say

We were celebrating my husband's birthday & the hotel went above and beyond to acknowledge this. Our room was perfect with the most amazing view, we will definitely return!

Breakfast superb, best poached eggs ever !
rooms were big for London
Beautiful room and hotel, reception staff at check in were very lovely
Clean, bath, strong water pressure, quiet, good size, quaint common sitting areas, AC, nice stroll to green and village/shops. Bag storage. We are returning shortly.
Bathroom floor tiles slippery, no bubble bath and salts, coffee table would be handy, doona too heavy for summer, no ceiling light dimmers, bathroom magnify mirror, somewhere to hang hand towels on front of sink…, more bathroom sink storage, draws, looks onto carpark.
Everything
All good
My wife, daughter and I had an absolutely excellent stay at the Richmond Hill Hotel. Fabulous afternoon tea and breakfast package. Room was very spacious and beds amazingly comfortable. All staff friendly and helpful. great attention to detail, including the blue takeaway water bottles. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to visit this lovely part of London.
Lovely hotel, lovely welcome, they upgraded me from a cosy double to a bigger double for free & gave me 241 cocktails voucher.. So i enjoyed a couple of delish cosmopolitans & small plate monkfish scampi in the garden before going out. Its right by a beautiful viewing park, pubs close by, Richmond Park just on the corner, bus down into Richmond town or short walk. Ham House is a lovely 40 min walk along the river. Its a gorgeous area. As i was out with friends a lot, i didnt have time to enjoy its bar or restaurant but it was a lovely place to sit.

Very enjoyable short stay in a beautiful location. Room, service, dinner and bar all excellent. Lovely cocktails and dinner. Wonder along the hill terrace, grab a pint from Roebuck pub and enjoy the view.
Good location with ample parking. Friendly and efficient staff. Immaculate room with good facilities. Bar food excellent.

Breakfast amazing ! Such à wide choice and personal service from staff was excellent most professionnel.
I found thé bed in my room far too high and due to a back problem found getting in and out of bed difficult ...also lack of à headboard made it difficult to sit up to read ..I was also disappointed that there wasnt à comfortable chair in the room.
The staff, location and food all amazing :)

The location of this hotel is perfect for the park and Richmond city centre. The staff is amazing. The rooms are impeccable and very tastefully decorated. The food is super tasty and reasonably priced for the quality and quantity and the service. Definitely recommend !
What a wonderful hotel in a tranquil part of town. From walks in Richmond park to watching sunsets over the Thames this was an ideal location. The hotel staff were all so friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable with plenty of space. I would definitely stay here again
Café da manhã excepcional
The location was great and the room was nice and spacious. Good value for the location.
Navigating to breakfast was a bit of a maze. My partner and I both got food poisoning from the water we think as the plumbing system was all messed up - toilet wouldnt flush, bathroom tap wouldnt turn on then sometimes one or both would work.
Stayed two nights for a family wedding. Check in staff were lovely and so friendly when we arrived and one delightful lady on reception help my elderly father with his bags to his room . We went for a drink in the bar , ambience was lovely , however waiting 20 min for a drink was not good , it seemed they were short staffed as one gentleman seemed to be running around the whole time we were there . We went for dinner in the restaurant and as we were a small group decided to opt for the set menu. Again the service was very slow with taking over an hour from sitting down to getting the starters. They were very good and flavourful, unfortunately it went downhill from there on . Most chose steak, some were ok but some were just so chewy and some were cremated . After two and a half hours we asked for the bill which had wrong charges, so had to be rectified . It seemed again they were short staffed as the waiter was run off his feet and the only one present . I also don’t understand the pricing in this hotel as I ordered the same drink three times and each time it was a different price .The rooms are beautiful , clean and nice and quiet at night , allowing for a good nights sleep. Hotel is in a great location for walking in Richmond park or for taking the train into central London. All the staff we interacted with were amazing and could not do enough for you and always attentive with a smile . I so wish I could have given a five star review, but the restaurant in the evening let it down . However breakfast was amazing and such lovely staff working hard to ensure plates were cleared and drinks provided. I’d stay again and would recommend this hotel .

What a luxurious and wonderful trip to a gorgeous location! It had such a calming atmosphere and the staff were so attentive to our needs. It felt like time stood still and we could really relax, whether in our well-looked after rooms or in the chic ambience of the restaurant. The toilets in our room felt spacious and the rooms were quiet and clean too. I especially liked the kettle and selections of teas in our room. The location of beautiful Richmond is second to none and the hotel was in good walking distance from places to go (riverside, views, gardens, shops). The small plates, cocktails, gins and breakfast in the restaurant were superb and delicious! The waiters were also really friendly. We particularly loved the interior design of the different spaces in the restaurant and felt it had a very naturalistic, intentional design to it. Very easy to sit back and relax in. Overall great value for money! 😌
Our 3rd stay here. Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location
Perfect location on the edge of the park and a short walk to town centre.
We were warned that rooms vary in size and we got probably the smallest; but given that we only showered and slept in it, acceptable.
A wonderful location for Richmond Park and surrounds. Friendly, welcoming staff and great service. The breakfast offered plenty of options and rooms were clean and comfortable.
There was no minibar in the room.
An excellent hotel in every way. Great location in terms of access to London and close to Kew Gardens and the Thames. The staff do all they can to ensure that you have a nice stay. I can't speak to highly of them.
Clean, very lovely welcome from the lady who booked us in. Air conditioning was a major plus in the heat. Food was good and reasonably priced.
Room and bed was a little small. Thought £35 for a dog for 1 night was a bit pricey.
Good location, nice staff and beautiful building . Richmond is a lovely place to be
Very nice -lovely building
Expected in a building like that but stairs up & down to get to bar /restaurant but I do have an issue at present as broken my ankles so wearing a boot & the stairs were an issue. Although breakfast was very varied it was barely warm. I did mention to one of the waitresses who said she would mention to management
We visited the hotel today as a belated 40th Birthday treat. After marching up the hill we were a little worse for wear but the staff couldn't have been more friendly. We were so impressed by the beautiful decor and were placed in a lovely spot. The "Enchanted Forest" afternoon tea was just out of this world- almost too pretty to eat! The staff made a beautiful miniature "Happy Birthday" cake for me and I felt so pampered. Many thanks especially to Chris for making this such a wonderful experience.
Stayed at the Richmond Hill hotel for my recent birthday and it couldn't have been better. We received a warm welcome on arrival, a complimentary room upgrade and a birthday card and chocolates in the room. The room, a Georgian Deluxe, was large, spotless and well appointed. Evening food and cocktails were delicious and the buffet breakfast was fantastic with fresh food being brought out regularly. The location is ideal for exploring the area. Richmond Park, the Richmond Terrace Viewpoints, Thames towpath and Richmond Hill shops and restaurants are all easy walking distance. The centre of Richmond is a about a half hour walk, or easily reached by bus or car. We had a wonderful mini break and will definitely return.
Simply excellent all round. I don't need to say anything else except that I had to write 100 characters to submit the review.
We enjoyed a 3-day stay here and really felt looked after. The staff were friendly and attentive, the furnishings very plush and the beds were really comfortable. On two of the days the shower only ran cool water. but that was rectified by the last day. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
Personal highle quality and smiley
rooms little bit small
We really liked the hotel. The room was small, but it had absolutely everything we needed. Everything was very clean, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. We would happily come back again.
Location quality & wonderful staff.
We had a great stay. The location was excellent. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
Nothing to complain about
Position and the interior was lovely
The renovations
A Lovely stay at The Richmond Hill. I have to say I was very disappointed in being charged for Water at the table for dinner! Nearly £9 for 2 bottles which we were unaware of the charge.. It seems the free top up water near reception must be different! Im interested to know why the charge ?
I can’t say enough good things about my stay at The Richmond Hill Hotel. Great location with an easy walk to parks, shops, restaurants and the river. The Treetop High Tea was a magical experience and I loved having a water bottle with access to unlimited still or sparkling water. The staff were friendly and helpful, making a 5am checkout easy, arranging a car for the ride to Heathrow. Will be recommending to everyone and look forward to staying here again. Thank you!
We booked afternoon tea at the Richmond Hill Hotel for a birthday, and it was a lovely experience from start to finish. The location is beautiful, the restaurant is calm and welcoming, and the afternoon tea was perfect. A special thank you to Kiana, a lovely young lady with a beautiful smile who gave us a table, and also stayed friendly and helpful all the way through. Everything was great ,the staff, the place and the afternoon tea. I highly recommend it if you want to make a special memory 😊
Lovely hotel. Stayed in a lovely suite with bath. Decor was excellent and bed was comfy. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent! Rounded off with friendly staff. Great experience.
Location
I am very disappointed that the hotel was unable to find the small bag I left in my room. I called several times and sent multiple emails, but unfortunately, nothing has been resolved.
Friendly reception. Nice room
The step up to the bathroom needs to be better marked. I had a bad fall going in the night
Staff are exceptional, friendly and helpful. Hotel is most comfortable and location is superb
Arranged a 75th Birthday Luncheon Party. Excellent location, staff and service. We all had a wonderful time and worth every penny.
Location
This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I've had, especially for a 4-star hotel in such a great part of London. After a long, hot day sightseeing, I returned to my room to get ready for dinner. Instead of being able to shower, the bathroom drain started violently backing up, spitting foul waste water and clumps of someone else's dark hair into the shower. It continued for around 15 minutes and was a serious hygiene issue. I had to go to reception, show staff a video of what was happening, repack my entire suitcase, and move all of my belongings to another room. As a result, I had no time to shower before leaving for my dinner reservation. What was even more disappointing was the hotel's response. At checkout, my concerns were brushed aside with little more than, "Yes, we're sorry again." After emailing the hotel, they misspelled my name and offered just £30, while completely ignoring the hygiene implications and the significant inconvenience caused. Problems can happen in any hotel. What defines a good hotel is how it responds. Unfortunately, this hotel failed on both counts. I certainly won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone expecting the standards of a 4-star hotel.
Fantastic location atop Richmond Hill a short walk from the Park and fabulous Hollyhocks in the Terraces. Glorious weather made pints at the Roebuck and a seat on the benches overlooking the Thames a treat.
This is our second stay at the hotel and it's been excellent on both occasions. The area is fantastic and it's close to the centre of town.
Nothing
Great location for walking to town but nice to be on hill for sunset
I have never before experienced such happy, friendly, helpful staff.
Only staying one night
The staff, the grounds and the room was exceptional.

Lovely hotel bar … staff were excellent !! Location was amazing
Corridors were a bit dated
Breakfast excellent, staff very helpful and friendly. Positioned well for travelling.
Shower leaked. Lots of steps and stairs. Not easy if you're elderly
If you ever get the chance to come to this hotel I say take it! It’s amazing. The staff were lovely. And the whole experience was worth every penny.
This is our favourite hotel. It has everything including access by public transport or by a wonderful walk by the river.
Location, staff and decor all fabulous

Two weekends, two unforgettable stays Two weekends, two stays, and two brilliant concerts — Harry Styles and Mumford & Sons — with Richmond Hill Hotel as our perfect base. No matter how many times we stay, the team always makes it feel special. A huge thank you to the amazing Yvonne Charles, who always works her magic with our rooms, and to Nishi and her team for the genuinely warm welcome. Wonderful people, thoughtful service and a hotel that always feels like coming home. Thank you — we will be back!

Air con, location, staff.
I made two separate bookings for this hotel. One was made prior to 31/05/26. I booked a room with breakfast on the Booking.com site. However, on arrival at the hotel, the booking did not include breakfast. Contact with Booking.com was difficult and I have still not been able to speak to anyone at the site-even though I have supposedly VIP status!!!

This is our favorite hotel in London. Have been coming here for more than 20 years, and always appreciate the quality, comfort, and the quiet. Staff are all incredibly helpful and gracious. It's near everything we love - hiking in Richmond Park, ambling along the river banks to Kew or Petersham, and sitting in Richmon Common with a glass of something nice.

The location
I had to call room service several times before someone picked up the phone.
Beautiful hotel and location, room photos don't do it justice. Staff were phenomenal, so attentive and polite. Information on services available not clear so make sure to ask! I would happily stay here again, when on offer as normal price a little out of my range.
Upea sijainti ja kiva miljöö
Great customer service.
I had an upgrade to a suite which was exceptional. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My room wasn't ready on arrival but I was able to leave my luggage and this was taken up to my room for me which was really helpful.
I can't think of anything I didn't like.
Convenient for our stay and plenty of space
We stayed here for our wedding which took place in Marylebone. We chose Richmond Hill as we got engaged whilst staying here. In advance small requests were made which were actioned immediately such as having a vase for the wedding flowers and full length mirror for dressing. We stayed in a Georgian suite - absolutely stunning and air conditioned during the heatwave which was welcomed. The hotel staff, as always were so welcoming, friendly and helpful both at reception and in the bar/restaurant. A little hand written note was in our room on arrival. The room was delightful and the hotel even provided us with Prosecco and chocolate covered strawberries to celebrate our wedding. We couldn’t have wished for more and can’t wait to stay again. It is our favourite hotel!
We stayed four nights with three generations sharing a room. The hotel did a wonderful job accommodating us from having a crib for the 4 month old to extra cleanups when things were chaotic. All the staff from front desk, to restaurant to housekeeping were gracious and helpful. Note this is an older building and there are stairs to get around. There are elevators to the upper floors but stairs to enter hotel and to get to restaurant. Room was comfortable, heavy curtains were great for day time naps, AC worked well. En suite bathroom is a tinted glass stall, somewhat less privacy than anticipated but convenient that toilet, shower and sink were all in separate areas so it was easy for multiple users. Convenient walk to parks, restaurants, pubs etc. Also easy walk down the hill to the train station to get anywhere in London or beyond. Breakfast buffet was wonderful, lots of interesting healthy options like chia pudding and watermelon beet salad as well as traditional English breakfast items. We also enjoyed delicious lunch and iced coffees later in the day.
Location, staff and the bar outside
Room was very small! Breakfast - good variety but cooked wasn’t very tasty and eggs overdone
Beautifully decorated, smelled amazing on arrival. Offered iced water immediately. Great breakfast. Great location.
Our room was small, overlooked a carpark, scaffolding on next door’s building site and some industrial looking bins!
Location & staff
The room was extremely small & basic and lacked many basic amenities I would normally expect, which made the stay feel quite uncomfortable.
Beware of "Luxury Rooms" being no more than a basic travel lodge size room and bring charged over £400 per night for the pleasure! Could not even fit the luggage in the room . Rip off Oh and the floor constantly soaking wet with a leaking shower door. 3 times asked then to fix it and nothing!!
Food is fantastic Room was excellent
We absolutely loved our stay at Richmond Hill Hotel. After traveling all night, being able to check in early was such a gift, and we were incredibly grateful for the kindness and flexibility of the staff. The hotel itself is exceptionally charming, spotless, comfortable, and full of character. Every interaction we had with the team was warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Richmond is a storybook town, and we’re so glad we chose to stay there rather than simply pass through. Richmond Hill Hotel was a big part of what made the experience so special. It provided the perfect home base for exploring the area and made our time there even more memorable. We would happily stay again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the region.
Have stayed here at RHH many times and often come to the Terrace and 144 for lunch or a drink while visiting Richmond. It’s a beautiful spot, stylishly decorated, food and staff are great, free car parking when you stay or even just eating at the restaurant. It’s one of my favourite places in Richmond.
Having previously stayed at the hotel a number of years ago we booked again for a birthday celebration and were so glad that we did, as the hotel was even better than before. Everything about the stay was perfect - friendly and professional reception staff, beautiful room with superb views (4th floor) , really comfortable bed, immaculately clean and great amenities. Nothing was too much trouble from the staff. Free parking was a real bonus. Would highly recommend. Staff were a credit to the hotel.
A lovely hotel with modern rooms. A great location with easy walking to the town and the river.......................
Wonderfully dog friendly and a short walk to town and the local parks. Would definitely stay again. Lots of steps around the hotel to wind around to your room. Very clean and nicely decorated.
Lovely location at the top of Richmond Hill. A few steps from the Constable view of the Thames and a good pint at the Roebuck. Short walk to the Terraces and the wonderful Hollyhocks. 10-15 minute walk into town for choice of shops and restaurants. Room was clean and comfortable with good quality towels and linens.
Nothing to dislike.
Great location and very comfortable. Staff were very welcoming on our arrival
Unfortunately our stay (our second time at the hotel) was spoiled when an airport transfer was not booked as requested. We asked for a transfer to be arranged when we arrived, to go to Heathrow for an early flight the next morning. We were assured at reception this was not a problem. However, we were left standing in the car park very early the next morning in the cold, waiting for a transfer that had not been booked. Luckily were we able to get an early morning Uber to get us and our bags to the terminal in time.
Absolutely everything. Such a lovely place. People so friendly and helpful. Rooms are stunning
Great location, excellent food and service. Well priced room, comfortable. Hotel is spacious and well furnished, friendly staff.
Just returned from a lovely stay at Richmond Hill Hotel. First impressions from outside make the building look dated and less grand than other building in the spare, but don’t be put off, it’s beautiful inside and the service is excellent. There is plenty of car parking and as a resident you can register to avoid fees providing you book your stay directly with the hotel. There are also several EV chargers, but we didn’t use them so can’t comment on reliability, We received a warm and friendly welcome from the reception team and given comprehensive directions to our room and that we had been given a complimentary upgrade. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. It would have been nice to have a small bin for tea bags in the room rather than just the bathroom, but otherwise everything was in order. Staff were keen to make sure we were happy at all times and it was a peaceful nights sleep. Some noise from the courtyard at the rear in the morning, but it wasn’t too early to worry about. Breakfast was plentiful with plenty of choice and check out was smooth. The location is easy to find and within walking distance of Richmond Park, Richmond town, the river and Kew Gardens. There are plenty of eateries in the vicinity, but we chose to eat at the hotel and were not disappointed at all.
