Personale competente, super gentili e con un ottimo inglese, ci ha dato degli ottimi consigli per sfruttare al meglio la nostra permanenza a Phong Nha, buona la colazione. Stanza pulita, location molto bella.

Se proprio devo trovare difetti, in bagno consiglio una salvietta in più per il viso e uno o due appendini, non sai mai dove appendere le cose.

Super nette Dame an der Rezeption: 11/10, hat bei allen Tour- und Bus-Buchungen geholfen. Das Abendessen im Restaurant mit lokalem Fisch ist sehr zu empfehlen. Sauberkeit ok, Bett ordentlich.

Amaturen im Bad wackelig und das Bad etwas schrabbelig. Frühstück war nichts besonderes, eine Tasse Kaffee und ein Omlett mit einem trockenen Brot. Man hätte aber auch andere Sachen wie Pancakes wählen können.

Funny Monkeys was perfect for our two night stay in Phong Nha. Linh the manager was exceptional- so incredibly helpful and available to answer all our questions and give advice. She also helped us book a caves tour which was brilliant. Highly recommend!

Funny Monkeys Homestay is a fantastic place to stay. We spent two nights here and could not have been happier with our choice. We reached out to the staff, and they were incredibly kind and helpful with everything we needed. They helped us organize a great one-day tour around the local sights and took care of booking our tickets for our next destination. The rooms were spacious, very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. A major highlight was the restaurant located right downstairs—the food was absolutely delicious! The location is also super convenient for getting around. I highly recommend Funny Monkeys Homestay to anyone looking for a welcoming and convenient place to stay!

The only minor detail is that the bathroom could be slightly improved.

What a great place to stay if you are visiting Phong Nha. Linh and her family are exceptional hosts. Linh organised our bus trips as well as day tours - she made everything so easy and kept us informed the whole time. The room was clean, spacious and even had air conditioning, a hairdryer and tea/coffee which I wasn’t expecting. Highly recommend staying here if you want a Homestay experience.

We really enjoyed our stay at Funny Monkey Homestay. The owners were so kind and welcoming, and they helped us organize our tours and transport, which made everything very easy. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We loved the beautiful river view, and breakfast was tasty with a good choice of options. The location is great, close enough to restaurants and attractions. Everyone made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. If you're visiting Phong Nha, we definitely recommend staying here. We'd happily come back!

Tellement bien situé et en arrivant les enfants ont pu faire du paddle board. Une vue unique sur la rivière qui mène à la grotte Phong Nha. Linh nous a tout de suite accueillis et elle est vraiment exceptionnelle !!! Elle nous a grandement aidé et était avenante pour que notre séjour se déroule parfaitement. Merci Linh, c’est grandement grâce à toi !!!

Worst homestay experience of our trip. No welcoming atmosphere, trash from previous guests was still in the room, and it was not removed during the day. The bathroom was heavily calcified, and the toilet is inside the shower area, so the whole bathroom floods, with no squeegee provided. The bedcloths had stains. Staff mainly seemed interested in selling cave tours that you could easily organize yourself with a Grab, yet they were heavily overpriced and felt like a scam. I cannot recommend this place.

All the staff were lovely but Linh in particular was so helpful, sorting out tours and tramsits.

Het personeel is zeer gastvrij en behulpzaam. We kwamen heel vroeg aan bij de homestay (6u45). Onze kamer was al klaar en we konden eerder inchecken voor een meerprijs van 150.000 VND (+/- 5 euro). Vermits we net van de nachttrein afkwamen, kozen we voor die optie. Linh, de receptioniste, hielp ons met het plannen van onze activiteiten en de vragen die we hadden. Ook regelde ze private driver voor ons, zodat we op ons gemak naar de Paradise cave konden (600.000 VND). Linh was ook altijd bereikbaar via whatsapp voor vragen of tips. Het ontbijt was lekker. Je kon kiezen tussen verschillende opties. De kamer was goed. Het is niet super luxe, maar het bed lag goed en het had alles wat we nodig hadden. Hun restaurant is ook aan te raden!

Hostel giặt sấy đồ giá hơi cao hơn bình thường. Cuối cùng chỉ giặt, KHÔNG sấy nên quần áo mùi ẩm mốc và phải giặt lại ở chỗ khác.

Staff were incredibly helpful. We arrived very late at night and they were in touch with us while we were traveling, and ready for us when we arrived.

As a solo female traveler, I felt safe and well taken cared of. The staff were friendly, kind and helpful. Linh the reception helped me with my rides, tour organising and answered every question I had even on her day off through WhatsApp. The room was clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable and AC was great. The view from the restaurant and the shared terrace is fantastic looking at the river and limestone mountains. Location is close to many riverside restaurants and less than 10 minutes walk to the Phong Nha cave boat station.

Nothing major. There is a church beside the building so you can hear the chanting and the bells. There's no elevator but staff handled my heavy luggage to my room. So no problem for me.

La climatisation de la chambre était vraiment insuffisante et nous avons très mal dormi. L’évacuation de l’eau de la douche était bouchée, limitant très fortement le temps sous la douche. Le pompon a été le réveil à 4h50 du mat par l’église mitoyenne qui diffuse des sons de cloches avec d’énorme haut parleurs, suivit d’une messe d’une demie heure avec un volume extrême. Impossible de dormir dans ces conditions, nous avons changé d’hôtel pour la seconde nuit à Phong Nha. Dans le second hôtel, à 1km du Funny Monkey, nous avons encore entendu les cloches en questions, mais dans un son plus diffu…

Die Kommunikation schon vor Anreise und auch vor Ort war sehr gut. Schöne Aussicht auf dem Fluss und die Berge. Der Balkon ist sehr schön, allerdings ist es ein Gemeinschaftsbalkon, den sich drei Zimmer teilen. Man kann kostenlos Fahrräder ausleihen, sie waren in einem mittelguten Zustand. Die Unterkunft hilft unkompliziert bei der Organisation eines Rollers. Die An- und Abreise per Bus kann problemlos über die Unterkunft organisiert werden. Insgesamt ein sehr schönes und empfehlenswertes Homestay

Der Gemeinschaftsbalkon wurde nicht täglich gereinigt, Mülleimer und Aschenbecher waren am ersten Tag übervoll. Das Essen im Restaurant hat uns nicht überzeugt, weshalb wir nur einmal dort essen waren. Lt. Beschreibung sollte es vor Ort Kayaks zu leihen geben, die gibt es aber nicht mehr. Es gibt nur SUPs, die man wegen der Touristenboot nicht tagsüber sondern erst nach 16:00 Uhr nutzen darf.

Firstly the view is just something else. Linh was also fantastic and helped us with everything we needed and any questions we had. It has a lovely family run feel with kids playing, which we loved. Breakfast was a nice addition. The room was comfortable, good AC and shower. Lovely hammocks to relax.

Very close to the ferry and several restaurants. Linh was very attentive and kind and helped us in arranging taxis. The food was very good, highly recommend the hot pot.

Overall impression: An unforgettable stay that completely redefined what hospitality means to us — this was our first homestay experience, and it exceeded even the best 5-star hotels we’ve stayed in around the world. What we liked: Our family room overlooked the stunning Con River and, while basic, it was absolutely more than adequate — comfortable beds and pillows, excellent air conditioning, and reliable Wi-Fi made it a very easy place to relax. The outdoor terrace right outside our room was a real highlight, with comfy lounges and a fan, offering the perfect spot to sit and take in the river views. The homestay offers free push bikes, which was a great touch, and they effortlessly organised everything for us — including a fantastic trip to Paradise Cave and Phong Nha Cave with pick-up and drop-off, as well as our transfer to Dong Hoi. Breakfast each morning had great choices, and dinner was a real treat — a lovely menu enjoyed while sitting out overlooking the water. The staff were exceptional — genuinely warm, attentive, and always willing to help. A very special mention to Linh, who communicated with us regularly via WhatsApp, keeping us updated and making everything seamless. Her English is excellent, and her friendliness and personal touch made such a difference. Her level of care and hospitality truly surpassed anything we’ve experienced anywhere in the world. What we had/used: Family room with river view, terrace seating, organised cave tours, transfer service, free bikes, breakfast and dinners. Good to know: This is a homestay, so don’t expect luxury finishes — but what you get instead is something far more special: genuine care, warmth, and personalised service. Would we return? Without hesitation — this was a truly wonderful experience that we will never forget.

What could be better: The only thing to note is that the family room is up four flights of stairs, which may not suit everyone — but the view and terrace at the top are well

Замечательный отель. Нам организовали трансфер от поезда, на следующий день чудесный поход в пещеру Paradis. Отель расположен на берегу реки. С очень красивыми видами. Вкусные завтраки. Замечательный номер. В отеле есть ресторан, где очень вкусно готовят.

В ресторане приготовили угря с клубком глистов. Когда показала менеджеру, мне сказали, что это нормально и это просто потроха рыбы. Может быть в их семье это считается нормальным, но это ресторан. Глисты в еде - это не нормально.

First of all the staff who is so helpful especially Linh as she was the main person i talked to. Really sweet family friendly atmosphere, good location, good food/drinks and really nice view for sunsets and sunrises. Close to everything by walk but even better with scooters you can rent. Highly recommend it.

Etablissement parfait avec une très bonne situation et une vue magnifique sur le lac !! chambre simple avec climatisation mais il ne manque rien et on s'y sent bien. Personnel adorable on a pu déjeuner avant de repartir avant l'heure prévue. Nous avons pu également louer un scooter. Bonne adresse que je recommande.

Our time here was amazing. Great food. Great location on the river, quick and friendly service. Our host Linh was the best part of our stay, she was super helpful even before arriving she helped organize transfers and tours knowing we only had a short time there. We would definitely stay here again.

Linh is super helpful arranging everything onsite. The food in the restaurant was lovely including the breakfast. The location next to the river is amazing. It feels a bit like home with the homestay family.

Really nice homestay. Simple room but it’s enough for staying few nights in Phong Nha. Views in the terrace are very good. Good breakfast with vegetarian options. Receptionist speaks English very good and she’s very nice and helpful. She helped organise us the tour in Phong Nha and transfer.

We had a lovely 3 night stay at Funny Monkeys Homestay. It is brilliantly located near the river and quieter area of Phong Nha. The hosts were a lovely family and Linh’s communication and support were excellent. The room was large, and all the bedding and towels smelled lovely and clean. Our room had a balcony with chairs, table and hammock - perfect! We also had dinner on our last night and it was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced indeed.

The room was cozy and had a great view of the river. The host was responsive and very helpful. The location is prime, with everything within walking distance. Even if you arrive early before check-in time, they let you in if rooms are available. Otherwise, there are hammocks and beds in the patio where you can rest, or you can leave your luggage and explore the town until your room is ready. Overall, it’s good value for money. The bed was soft and comfortable, the room had plenty of toiletries, and hot water was available anytime.

Насправді я не очікувала нічого особливого від кімнати, ціна була досить низькою, для цієї ціни все було ок. Дуже гарна тераса (на поверсі тільки 2 кімнати) з видом на гори і річку. Гарний також вид з кімнати. Кімната - велика. Ліжка теж великі і досить комфортні.

Був бойлер, він наче працював, але гарячої води не було (кімната 302). Не вистачає холодильника.

Wow. What a little piece of heaven. This place was a sanctuary in Phong Nha, making us fall in love with this village. Linh was the sweetest host, who was always so accommodating and welcoming to us. So thankful for her. Anything we needed, she was there to help. If we ever have any friends stay in Phong Nha, we will be sending them to Funny Monkeys Homestay. We stayed in a room on the top floor, which had a panoramic balcony, hammock and chairs to lounge around on. The view of the boats, with the emerald green water and the Karst mountains in the background were so beautiful, that we never wanted to leave. Everything was done so well here, the cleanliness, the breakfast (a delightful cooked meal with a drink every morning), the comfort and large spacious rooms.

The staff was extremely, extremely welcoming. They organised all our activities for us. The bed was huge and the room comfortable. There are many options for breakfast. The views from their terrace were just awesome. We would definitely come back if we are around!

It’s not as clean as I would like it, but it’s nothing that bothers me in a small village like that. It’s important to have the context of where you’re staying and have the appropriate expectations. It’s insanely humid there but there’s nothing really they can do about it.

Property is located in perfect spot. The room view is great and refreshing. The day we arrived we forgot our handbag in grab the homestay owner was quick and took me to the spot of cab drivers to locate the cab and get our bag safely. Not only that but the staff especially Linh is absolutely best at her work. She made sure our experience is memorable and comfortable. All the tour recommendations were perfect. They also packed us breakfast for our early check out. I’ll recommend this place without any second thoughts.

There is some building work nearby that can be disturbing. But it was fine for me. Also, just pointing out that each balcony is shared between 3 rooms.

All of the staff were very friendly, the breakfast was great and the drinks were very reasonably priced. Beautiful views overlooking the river and good value for money. Principally, we were looking for a place to stay where we could enjoy Phong Nha for a couple of days. This accommodation immediately caught our attention because of its location, the overall offer, and especially the beautiful view over the river and the surrounding mountains. When we arrived at 7 in the morning, we contacted Lin - the manager of the place - and she quickly arranged a tour for us to the Paradise Cave. We were honestly very pleasantly surprised by how easily and quickly everything was organized. What we also really appreciated was that they recommended several interesting places to visit around the area. They also offered scooter rental at a very good price, which made it super easy to move around and reach the most popular attractions from the accommodation. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Even though some of them don’t speak English, they still communicate perfectly well and are always willing to help. Overall, I am very satisfied with this stay.

Exceptionelt sødt og hjælpsomt personale. Alle var søde og imødekommende og der var god service. Stedet ligger skønt ud til floden og maden smagte virkelig godt.

Vi boede i stueetagen, hvilket gjorde at der var lidt mørkt på vores værelse. Vinduerne var ud til receptionen og fællesområder og belysning på værelset var dårligt, enten for kraftigt eller for svagt.

מקום מדהים מדהים מדהים, נוף מטורף לנהר ולהרים, מיקום מרכזי הצוות במלון היה כל כך נחמד ועזרו ועשו את המעל ומעבר. החדרים גדולים ומרווחים ונקיים המיטות נוחות ממש מלון מעולה!

A peine arrivé à la réception, une jeune femme vous assomme d'informations, excursions, locations.... Et le soir, elle fait la fête avec ses amis, complètement ivre et irrespectueuse des clients. Seule, la vue était agréable.

Nous louons un scooter a notre arrivée vers 17h... mais apparemment il faut le rendre à 7h du matin ?!? Nous avons exigé remboursement. Nous avons évité tous leurs services, laverie, excursions, petits déjeuners....

I feel very comfortable in this accommodation. I slept very well and the shower is also good. The views of the river are amazing. Linh is very professional and will help you with everything you need with a beautiful smile. The breakfast was very delicious 😋

Osebje je izjemno. Lynn je tako prijazna in ustrežljiva in govori dobro angleško. Lokacija je super. Vse blizu v "peš" dosegu. Brezplačno ti dajo na razpolago kolesa. Do vstopne postaje "Jame Phong Nha" je komaj 400 m.

Edino to da v sobi ki je dovolj velika ni odlagalnih površin. Manjka ena omara ali vsaj komoda še bolje oboje. To bi bilo super. Sicer gre tudi brez. Imate stojalo za obleke. Samo ne morete razpakirati kovčka.

The view is amazing and Linh the hostess is a brilliant member of staff who looks after you. They even got me birthday cake and a silly hat, and invited us to their christmas dinner, gave us loads of food and local wine. There was free bike hire so we explored lots of the beautiful area like this, there’s cheap scooter hire too. They helped sith organising trips and onward taxis (at strange hours!). A very warm welcome and amazing stay.

The room we had was a bit strange as the glass door was where other guests and family walk past so you need to close the curtains for privacy. The bathroom also didn’t have very good ventilation so the room felt a bit damp.
