There are very few charging outlets available, and they also don’t provide shampoo. For the price you’re paying, it would be nice to have these basic amenities included.

The price, location and cleanliness were all very good. We provided our own breakfast, but great to have a toaster, a jug and a microwave.

The room would have been better if the bathroom was smaller and the bedroom was larger.

Convenient location, free parking nearby and good basic room. Well equipped kitchen for self catering and light airy dining room.

Kitchen became crowded with more than four people all getting in each other’s way.

The location was good near the centre of town it was clean and friendly room mates never ate the breakfast as I was leaving early

Lack of phone charging facilities in room 3 and 34 pounds was too expensive for a dorm some issues with the locks between the reception and the room

Bâtiment historique assez sympa de prime abord. Emplacement parfait ; à 2mn à pied du centre ville. Une salle de jeux (un billiard un peu vieillot mais sympa de pouvoir s'entrainer et un babyfoot avec quelques poignées dysfonctionnelles).

Salle de bains vétuste (cabine de douche en plastique et joints à retravailler). Lits inconfortables (chambre 7) avec des ressorts saillants ; nous avons fini par déplacer le matelas du lit superposé du bas par terre. Un peu de poussière par ci par là et difficulté pour aérer la chambre les fenêtres ne s'ouvrant que sur quelques centimètres. La cuisine commune ne nous donnait pas envie nous préparer à manger sur place. Nous sommes finalement allés au restaurant. Rapport qualité/prix décevant.

You have to go outside to go to the rooms and kitchen from the reception but it wasn't bothered much

Spacious, comfortable in great location.

What is not to like ?

Dismal. Couldn’t get in until 4.00 pm and no answer either by phone or intercom. Room was like a prison cell with bare walls and no amenities. Located in a squalid area. Never again.

One of the bunk beds squeaked very loudly every time the person in it turned over. There was a really long cobweb hanging from the light - appreciate it's a very high ceiling so would have been hard to reach.

Could do with power outlets for each bed, for charging etc. I couldn't find a usb power outlet.

I like the location and the price of this stay. The staff was also lovely and for the price it came with everything you could ever ask for. Also it included bike storage which gave me peace of mind.

Doesn’t come with a towel

It was clean and functional with friendly staff. We had a twin room (bunk beds) on suite, all very standard, the shower was good. The communal kitchen had everything we needed and there were loads of lounge options with board games, ping-pong, pool and a piano. We were just about in time to leave our bags in the baggage room on arrival best to check what time the staff are leaving if you are planning on doing this. Alnwick itself was a good location with a wonderful castle, we went twice, you can convert your ticket to an annual pass for free. There's a useful if not frequent bus service and a Morrisons right in the centre of town.

The ladder up to the top bunk had very narrow rungs and was straight up, something with better steps would have been easier and nicer.

I was above the kitchen so the smell wasnt great, especially in the bathroom but I had a room to myself so I was very happy about that!

My second stay here, location and facilities are superb, staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Nice guests, easy to meet like-minded people.

The hostel was right in town.

Lovely quiet location with lots of information about the history of the building to read. It felt secure as you needed a key card to get in. Comfy seats in the lounge. Good shower. Free parking nearby.

I didn't realise I would have to pay for towels, I would have brought my own had I known.

Extremely clean hostel with comfortable beds and proper ensuite bathrooms in the dorm rooms. Kitchen and lounge are excellent. Lovely and warm during peak evening hours, though not at night.

There was a glitch with my booking so it showed up as still needing to be paid, and I had to show my receipt to prove I'd already paid. The 4 pm check-in time is rather late. For the price they charge, I think not providing towels free is quite stingy. The bathroom fan was loud and when there are six people using the bathroom during the night, added to the kitchen fan that can be heard upstairs, added to the bus stop right outside the window, I doubt you would get much sleep during peak season.

Plenty of parking round the back, easy check in, friendly staff, good ensuite, comfy beds in family room. Easy access to the communal kitchen & dining room close to our room. Good to be downstairs.

We were ground floor at the front of the building and could hear people outside but that's the nature of the building, presumably not double glazed windows. But it didn't disturb us too long. Being bunk beds, and each using lower one, I was fine overnight, but next morning when stripping bed linen off, I kept banging my head on the side of the top bunk!! Even though I had been ducking so as not to hit my head most of the time.

Das Hostel liegt sehr gut, um Alnwick und das Castle zu erkunden. Die Selfe Service Küche ist sauber mit einem schönen, hellen Essraum. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich.

Das Hostel hat einen laut knarrenden Fußboden, wenn man über ihn läuft und die Zimmertür konnte man nur mit sehr viel Schwung schließen, was sicher für andere Gäste sehr laut war.
