Great location, staff and breakfast both good.

Shower/toilet room was very small.

The food was exceptional

Cobwebs in the bathroom, dust levels on the ceiling and the extractor was shocking for a hotel

Lovely old Inn, my room was super cozy. Delicious breakfast and very peaceful waking up there in the morning.

Wasn't an issue for me but the walls are thin and you can hear the noise from the restaurant/pub downstairs until about 10/11pm - but didn't bother me :)

Everything! It was beautiful, the staff were kind, and it felt like stepping back in time.

If I could have changed one thing, it would have been to have more warm accent lighting in the rooms to better reflect the old age feel.

The location was perfect for our walks in the day, for our walk to dinner in the evening and close to the station, so no need for a taxi at all. It felt like home and was full of history too. Beautiful hotel and room and amazing breakfast!

Our only problem was the room next door as you could hear every conversation and were kept up most of the night as they had the tv on so found it so difficult to sleep. We know this isn’t the fault of the hotel but something to consider as it didn’t ruin our stay but we were incredibly tired the next day

The location is very convenient to all of Rye’s conveniences. It’s a quirky place above an excellent pub. The rooms are accessed by a quirky staircase which might not appeal to some.

The noise and music from the pub can be heard in the rooms above. But at 11:00 everything is quiet.

We were at the top of the building, very narrow winding stairs, not well lit, quite stuffy in the heat of summer

Staff was very friendly, breakfast was included and was delicious, great location. Bed in Hastings room was comfy! showers were great and had doors that closed so you didn't flood bathroom.

Didn't have airconditioning, but they did have fans in the rooms, so it worked out ok. Bed in Sandwich was very hard. No on-site parking, but that is to be expected - very cheap 24 hour pay lot located 3 min walk behind the hotel.

Von dem Moment an, als wir durch die Türen gingen, wussten wir auch hier, dass unser Aufenthalt etwas sehr Besonderes sein würde. Wir wurden sehr freundlich an der Theke begrüßt und der Service während unseres Aufenthalts war ausgezeichnet. Unser Zimmer (Hastings) war wunderschön, mit Blick über die Dächer der Stadt. Es war sehr sauber und wunderschön eingerichtet, mit Liebe zum Detail. Zum Frühstück gab es ein ausreichendes, englisches Frühstück, was wir sehr lieben. Man konnte verschiedene Möglichkeiten wählen. Wir können dieses Hotel nur empfehlen und werden definitiv wiederkommen! Vielen Dank für Alles! :)

Ein paar mehr Steckdosen im Zimmer wären vielleicht nicht schlecht.

In a nice area, good pub vibe. Room (Hythe) was nice, bed comfy. Popular in evening we ate in and all was good. Excellent breakfast. Staff were all friendly and efficient. The younger female server (on Weds 29th) was particularly attentive.

Nothing to complain about. We parked at the station, a 10 min walk away. To stay overnight you download the app and you have to book both arrival and departure day, about £10. This was not clear on the car park signs, but easy on doing.

El desayuno es espectacular. Los trabajadores súper amables. La ubicación inmejorable. La habitación es pequeña pero tiene todo lo necesario para una estancia corta, es muy acogedora y limpia. Sin dudas volveríamos.

Our room was truly stunning- the New Romney- with a bath tub IN the room- a wooden shutter was provided for privacy if needed. Great pub!

The feel of the downstairs pub! The location! The room! It was beautiful!

My husband enjoyed the breakfast 😋 we had to wait a long time for our dinner as the football was 9n we understood. It was in wonderful high street .the staff were lovely.

The TV box didn't work so we stayed with bbc 1.

Lovely building, friendly and attentive staff, good food. The room was large and very clean.

The pillows were awful very basic foam and not at all comfortable. The duvet was a double on a king size bed and the cover was clean but a bad fit.

The pub and the room itself is gorgeous.We were well aware that there was no shower and it wasn't too uncomfortable to wash in the bath tub with a jug, definitely one of a kind experience 😀 staff was great and helpful and food was ok.

It could do with a mini fridge and an iron or steamer in the room.

The Inn is located in Rye old city main street, perfect location, close to all attractions. It is a historical building and a traditional inn with a lot of charme. The room we stayed was big and comfortable.

Vriendelijk personeel. Authentieke pub met goed bier, lekker eten, comfortabele bedden, goeie douche. Goeie sfeer!

Ontbijt start pas om 8u30, dat was wat te laat voor ons. Vuilbakje met deksel in de badkamer zou meer hygiënisch zijn.

Beautiful old property in a central location. Staff were extremely friendly and the food was great.

A shower would have been less dangerous in Hythe. Having stayed in lots of pubs over the years, the noise level in their one was particularly loud. We could hear conversations! Our room was not 'cleaned' daily.

The whole place was fabulous, staff, atmosphere, breakfast location and just felt very at home even though we was visitors. Very welcoming and friendly place I hope to come back in Dec.

We did not specify in our booking that we were friends and we had a room with bath tub and shutter not ideal for people who are body conscious. No fault to hotel we didn't book correctly. Other room was perfect with private bathroom.

Lovely atmospheric pub in centre of medieval Rye. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Both evening meal and breakfast were very good and staff super friendly. At night it was very quiet.

It wasn’t easy to get into the bath/shower so wouldn’t recommend for elderly people.

Wir hatten das Zimmer Dover und das war sensationell ,groß und geräumig. Man fühlt sich wie im 14. Jahrhundert nur mit den Annehmlichkeiten des 20. Jahrhundert.

We paid for a deluxe room & we stayed in Dover, but the lack of a proper shower, was very disappointing. Our friends also paid extra but had full bathroom!!

The charm of the building and street itself, everywhere was extremely clean, the food was exceptional and if you're concerned about being above a bar then dont as it was peaceful! Location is 10/10 We will be coming back

Lovely well cooked local food, comfy bed as well. And it's clearly well used by the locals, which says a lot from people that use it every week...

We booked dinner elsewhere as it says the pub doesn't allow bookings and we weren't sure we'd get a table. But when we arrived the 1st question they asked was 'do you want a table for dinner' we liked the look of the menu and would have eaten dinner there if this had been a bit more clear.

the wifi took a little while to log into but staff super helpful in sorting.V good supper.Friendly ambience and super pleasant staff.Clean room and comfortable bed and high quality sheets.

Nothing - Wish we could have stayed longer

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. Superb breakfast.

We were there for only two nights, but there was no making up of the bed or fresh towels during our stay.

Rooms were great, big, characterful and a huge comfy bed.

Slight issues was getting our luggage round the staircase, but a really minor issue.

The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was amazing. The location was excellent.

The room was a little small and there was no on site parking. The nearest parking was at the train station and I had to make 2 trips with our luggage.

The room. I was not told that you had to climb extremely steep stairs to get to the room and it was in the top of the Inn and I have vertigo, If I had know this I would not of booked the room, it should say on the website because if I was older there would be no way to into the room! I asked to change but the Inn was already full.

It was so friendly and laid back. We stayed for 5 days but felt like home after 1 night. We didn’t want to leave. Food was really good and we were in a perfect location. Everything we wanted was only a couple minutes walk. Can’t recommend enough! The breakfast included was delicious also.

That we had to go home :(

The bed was very comfortable. The shower water was lovely and hot. The ambience of both the bedroom and the pub lounge was good.

The 2nd floor staircase to the Deluxe bedroom in Dover room was far too steep and dangerous for oaps like ourselves. We were unable to climb it safely so we had to change our bedroom to a 1st floor one named Hastings which was a lot smaller but safer to access. However the TV signal was so weak we could not see or hear anything on it, probably due to the bad weather outside. Also the towel rail and room radiators were not functioning.

Wir wohnen unfassbar freundlich empfangen und hatten mehrere kleine Harry Potter Momente, die uns den Aufenthalt versüßt haben.

Dass wir im Zimmer keine eigene Dusche hatten dafür aber eine freistehende Badewanne.

Very dusty, in need of a good deep clean. The beams in the room on the wall and the radiator in the bathroom desperately in need of cleaning. Dusty and other people's belongings under the furniture suggests the cleaning is only superficial.

Charm, staff.

The staff have no regard for the fact that people are sleeping above them. The pub noise was not the problem. After closing the staff were very loud and woke us up, and then again when the returned early in the morning they were talking and banging around very loudly and woke us up. We did not get a good sleep at all

Staff were friendly and professional. The Inn was old and quirky. The steps to our room were challenging. Breakfast was excellent with generous portions. Dinner was excellent and they accommodated friends easily. All together an excellent stay.
