The place is in a beautiful location. The views were amazing from the balcony and the sense of clam around the place created for an immersive experience was top.
As the place is in à quiet location there were very few options nearby for transportation, restaurants and convenience stores. You have to be prepared once you get there to not leave the premises and make sure to add the breakfast option when booking as there are no places near by.

I enjoyed the traditional Japanese room and the private onsen bath on the balcony. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
I found it difficult to see on this booking platform what exactly i was booking. I didn't know whether I had booked a room with breakfast included or with an onsen bath in the room until after I had paid for the booking. I found the traditional Japanese dinner that the host offers to be pretty overpriced for what it was. There is so much great and reasonably priced food in Japan and this was neither. It wasn't bad, just not great and quite expensive compared with what else is available.

This is really a Japanese-style hotel: floors covered with tatami, you are asked to remove shoes at the entrance door and store them in lockers. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable, the bedroom is equipped with the European beds (very comfortable), and you have an option to use futons in the tea room. Onsen is marvelous and is available from early morning until midnight, the lobby area has a great mountain view. The staff is mostly helpful. Japanese-style breakfast and Kaiseki dinner (must be booked separately) are an additional valuable experience.
The hotel is located (though not far), but uphill from the station, reaching by foot might be challenging. Taxi/bus are recommended. They also warn you that the doors will be completely closed by midnight, so please make sure to return before that time :). We never tried it ourselves, but potentially this may cause inconvenience.
Onsen privado y comodidad de acceso
Nada reseñable para mostrar algo negativo
Onsen in stanza Accoglienza
Pulitissima, onsen privato meraviglioso, personale gentile e disponibile.
The hotel is beautiful. We booked a Japanese style room. It was stunning.
The only problem we had that there was no shower in the room. Only open public onsen that you can use.
Peaceful and a taste of traditional Japanese. We liked that the staff made a great effort to help us and to teach us about staying at a Ryokan.
Service outstanding

The traditional Japanese style.
A little old and run down.
Loved the outdoor onsen, and how quiet it was very peaceful area
Nothing
Personale molto gentile e disponibile, si respira l'atmosfera tradizionale già dall ingresso in hotel.
Clean and very kind personel
Onsen pictures attached to this offer were mostly taken in priv Onsen which need to be booked separately and paid additionally
Onsen were nice, with the possibility to book a private onsen as well. The room was comfy and the food was very traditional.
Bath was clean and amazing. Room was tidy and impeccable.
Staff was not trained to explain the food well. Made mistakes on our food option and dining time and would not admit it.
Beautiful views with a private onsen. Super friendly staff and a very spacious room.
It’s a pretty steep hike up a hill to walk from the station
Everything. The staff was so helpful- Loan at the reception desk and Adonita in the dining area. Loved having a large lounge room with coffee/tea and a wall of books to browse of Jaoanese arts. The meal plan was a bonus. I loved having Adonita tell me what each course contained --and how to season each one. Spotlessly clean hotel.
I didn't mind the 10 minute walk uphill from the town area. But some may prefer a taxi if suitcases are heavy.

Everything was perfect for me. The service and staff, room, food, facilities and location. I especially loved the staff's care for our experience. They were very accessible and kind.
I'm totally satisfied with my selection. Still if it's bothersome to anyone, the place is not the most central. For me it was completely fine because this is what makes it so serene.
The kaiseki ryori was delicious, full of fresh seasonal ingredients. The staff was kind and accommodating. It was a very lovely place to visit as a getaway from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo, and tucked away a bit of a walk from the station so it was quite serene.
We did struggle a little bit at meals because the waitress didn't speak English or Japanese very well. I speak English fluently and Japanese proficiently, so it would have been better if we had the option to select whether we wanted to communicate in Japanese. It seemed that she was paired with all of the foreign guests and the Japanese staff was paired with Japanese guests.
Top notch service, amazing meals, onsen was incredible. Don’t miss this one.
Sehr gute Lage. Unterkunft wir traumhaft. Super freundliches Personal. Wir waren begeistert
Great facilities, interesting to stay in the traditional Japanese style rooms
The location and the staff were amazing. The property was clean and there wasn’t a lot of noise from other guests. The onsen views were lovely.
We had a family room on the road side and it was utterly oppressive. There was no natural light as all the windows are boarded up. It was like being in jail. We felt very ripped off for the price that we had no windows. It ruined our stay given the lovely location. The value for money just wasn’t there. We regretted our choice and wished we had read the trip advisor reviews which covered this.
Rien.
unique property, large rooms, great view and beatiful property
private onsen on balcony was great! dinner and breakfast was good and traditional
not a lot of bus so we had to adapt. but this is not hotel's fault :)
Le lieux l'atmosphère relaxante
Rien
Personalizes service. The food was amazing and the wait read explained everything to us. Our room was great with a private onsen in the balcony. They were tattoo friendly. In fact, Eventhough the hôtel was full, most of the Time the public onsen had no one in it
The Price was a bit too high. I guess it was a Golden Week effect. Otherwise, everything was perfect.
It was absolutely great experience! We stayed in the Japanese room and slept on futons on the floor. They were comfy. Tatami mats are everywhere. Shoes free place. You get the traditional clothes to walk around. The dinner and breakfast were traditional and special. Absolutely worth trying. I went to the public onsen. It is divided into men and women section. It is clothes free. There was only one women there during my stay. I was feeling very comfortable, but I go often to saunas. There is a small pool inside and outside. Simple, but clean. I absolutely recommend this place and would stay here again!!!
Nothing
Liked the onsen
Nadherné ubytování, pohodlné a v japonském stylu. Opravdu doporučuji pokoj i s venkovní vanou.
Nic
Outdoor Onsen is super nice and the lounge has a beautiful view to sit and chill after the Onsen. Bed is comfy and the staff is friendly. The location is good enough.
No shower in our room, and the sink is very shallow, and water splashes on the counter easily.
The private Onsen on the rooftop!
Little cold in the rooms despite being May
Instalaciones algo viejas
Everything!! Best hotel we stayed in on our 3 week Japan trip!!!
Nothing!!
The staff. Very inviting. Location is quick uphill walk from town. Both the private and communal onsens. Very relaxing. There was never anyone else in the communal onsen when I there either. I would absolutely stay here again.
Literally nothing
De sereniteit. En het ontbijt. De kamer. De onsen. De mensen. Eigenlijk alles.

This was a really fun hotel to stay at. It was a lovely break from the style of hotel we'd stayed at throughout our stay. The room was really spacious, with a lovely sitting area alongside the bedroom. The onsen and dinner experience were brilliant and the traditional vibe was something different! The staff were lovely and very helpful, I would hugely recommend staying here.
That we didn't stay longer!
We loved the room and the view! And we really enjoyed traditional sleeping, felt like a sleepover and very authentic. The Onsen and the Lounge room were incredible.
The light in the room didn't feel comfortable. I was expecting the whole feeling of the stay to be very calm and thought out, I remember not feeling comfortable in the room in the evening. Facilities overall felt a little dated.
The service and quality of the rooms and facilities were impeccable. The welcome was warm and friendly. The private hot tubs were perfect with the mountain view. The traditional breakfast was an amazing culinary adventure.
Not enough wall hooks for hanging items on. A couple of hooks for wet towels would be very helpful !
Authentic Ryokan feeling with great private onsen and authentic food. We had the dinner option as well which was great. It’s clean, large Japanese rooms, and surprisingly not uncomfortable futons we slept on. Location is within 20 minutes walking from train station or 15 minutes to main street, but beware, towards hotel requires a short but steep cobblestone street, but Uber is cheap if walking is not your forte.
Only in the room we discovered that there is no shower or bath in the room and you are supposed to use the public non mixed (m/f) onsen. So we had to book the private onsen every day to shower (22k approx 11€). We know we booked an authentic Ryokan but rooms without a shower, was a little bit too authentic 🙂
We liked the open air onsen in our room. The room was neat and clean .
The public onsen was closed for most of the day . (10-3) The lounge was also closed for most of the day (10-3 each day) considering this was one of the most expensive hotels I have ever stayed at , I was disappointed by this.
Loved the authentic ryokan experience — sleeping on futons, the calm atmosphere, and the connection to nature. The onsen was relaxing and a highlight of the stay, and the traditional hospitality made the experience feel warm and personal.
The location was not very convenient, especially without a car, and the hotel itself felt a bit outdated compared to expectations.
Amazing location, not too far of a walk from the closest train station. The staff were welcoming and tended to our needs with great care and attention. Wonderful experience overall and had a private onsen to enjoy whenever we wanted.
Excellent service especially from Loan on the front desk. She had excellent English and helped with all our tricky requests.
