The meals were amazing, the staff is very kind, and the place is beautiful and peaceful. The private onsen was a great plus!

チェックイン前とチェックイン後に、こころ良く荷物を預かってくださり、とても助かりました。スタッフさんも、優しくて、感じの良い方たちでした。食事の時間になると、電話がくるので、わかり易かったです。温泉もちょうど良い温度で、ゆっくり入れました。

Amazing stay in an authentic ryokan! We loved everything about our stay and was just what we were after on our way between cities. It was easy to find, just a short walk up the street from train station. Staff were exceptionally nice from the minute we arrived and helped us through the language barrier. There were 3 onsens to choose from (gender segregated of course), plus a private rooftop one but we didn’t feel the need to book this. My wife and I tried all 3 and felt so good afterwards. We pre-booked the dinner and it was truly amazing. No short of about 20 different items were served from hot pot to sashimi, vegetables, tempura, fish, fruit etc etc It was set in what felt like a 5 star restaurant underneath the hotel and very intimate. We also had the breakfast which was great, tasty and filling but the dinner was absolutely next level so we can’t recommend more highly adding that to your stay. Room and bed were comfortable, clean and well equipped. In the morning we checked out (after another onsen), were able to leave our luggage and talk a short 10min walk to a couple of nice waterfalls. This stay was one of the biggest highlights of our 2 week trip and left us rejuvenated for the second week.

The food and the staff are incredible! We told them it was our honeymoon and they gave us a dessert with a little sign that said “happy honeymoon”. It was so sweet and so thoughtful and I wish I had more time there!

This is a true experience. The hot spring baths are a great experience, specially if you hire the roof top spring privately. the food is also a great traditional experience.

There wasn't a choice on food, so if you're a fussy eater or vegetarian you may need to ask? There is no private shower in your bathroom only the communal one.

The room was very spacious and beautiful. We loved the breakfast the food was so good. The location was great for us traveling around Hakone for a few days. It’s right near the train station which is very convenient. The staff was so amazing helping us and giving us recommendations for places to go and stuff to do.

La amabilidad del personal de recepción, siempre con una sonrisa y dispuestos a ayudar a pesar, a veces, de la barrera idiomática. Los onsen son simplemente geniales, el mejor lugar para relajarse después de un día visitando Hakone. El desayuno es también toda una experiencia y las trabajadoras que lo sirven son encantadoras. ¡Muchas gracias!

Un accueil extra et une formule demi pension avec un véritable dîner et déjeuner japonais de très haute qualité dans un espace privatif d’une pure tradition japonaise.

L’environnement et l’accueil extérieur qui devrait être valorisé pour être en accord avec la qualité intérieure cette auberge traditionnelle.

식사는 일본가정식으로 좋았습니다.

이불이 얇아 등이 좀 불편하였고, 료칸이라 짐을 들고 올라가아 해서 힘이 들었습니다.

This is a really beautiful, traditional style Ryokan Onsen. It is older style but exactly what I wanted. Ando was the sweetest lady who was incredibly accommodating in typhoon weather for us tourists travelling! Our private onsen was a treat and perfect for our mixed gender family, highly recommend. The food was of exceptional standard too, I really could not be happier!

Not a dislike - just a top tip - walk up the street on the left side!! There is no way to cross from the right....unless you want to hop across the crash barrier!

It was just a few minutes walking distance from the train station, the room is spacious and the onsen was so good! They have two public onsen and a rooftop private onsen. We used all three of them, the private one was nice but a bit small. My favorite was the big one on first floor. My daughter and I both loved it and we actually never shared it with anyone else every time we used it. And the food was so delicious!!! We stayed for 2 nights, both days we had different food at both breakfast and dinner.

No shower in guest room, but honestly it wasn’t a big deal since we used the shower in onsen a couple of times each day.

Beautiful ryokan with spacious rooms, exquisite food and the kindest staff- only 5-10 min walk from the station. Choice of multiple public onsen or the private onsen upstairs for 3300 yen which was fantastic. Half board is a must, the kaiseki and dining area are something special.

Wonderful Ryokan Onsen just a short walk from the train station in Hakone. The host was lovely and the food was exceptional, with so many different little bites to taste. The onsen was very relaxing and we got to try two of them as she rotates which Onsen is male/ female over different hours. Based on the listing which said shared bathroom, I had thought we would also have shared toilets and sinks but those were private which was an unexpected benefit.

It is very minor but since this was our first ryokan onsen stay, we would have loved a bit more explanation on etiquette. As it was, we did some quick Googling and it was fine.

The quite relaxed silence in the hotel. The beautiful and exquisit Onsen. Food is delughtfully served and ther is a wonderful family vibe created from the noment you walk in the door. Warm friendly staff.

食事をする場所は高級な料亭のようで、雰囲気もすごくよくて個室になっていました。 料理は思ってた以上に豪華で、量もすごく多かったです。 本格的な会席料理みたいに天ぷらや茶碗蒸しが後で次々と出てきて食べきれないくらい。 1品1品がとてもおいしくて大満足！ 最後にデザートが出てきたんだけど、オレンジにキウイ、イチゴにスイカとまるでフルーツの盛り合わせのような量にまたまたビックリ！ お腹いっぱいで…でもおいしいのでたくさん食べちゃいました。 朝食後には源泉で入れたとされるコーヒーもいただきました。 お風呂も何ヶ所かあるので夜と朝と2回入りました。 源泉掛け流しで肌スベスベ、ゆっくり入れて気持ちよかったです。 また行きたいです💕

Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Die hauseigenen Onsen haben wir nach den täglichen Ausflügen sehr genossen. Die Ausstattung ist traditionell, die Betten entsprechend und für uns etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig. Sehr zu empfehlen.

The staff was amazing and so helpful! Especially a lady at the reception, we had a bit of a language barrier but still managed to talk a bit. I felt very welcomed, the onsen was also great. Also highly recommend going to tenzan Onsen!!

Staff, location, amenities

The onsen was lovely, the food was delicious and staff very kind. The ryokan is designed in traditional Japanese style and a few minutes' walk from the train station. You can sit in front of the hotel, which is next to the river.

Nothing major, but be aware it's not possible to leave the hotel after 22:00 at night as they lock the doors.

The property is within a 10-minute walk from the train station and easily accessible. The rooms were large and quiet, and the staff was always available to help. The hotel offers breakfast and dinner options.

During our stay, it rained almost the whole day, which may influence our overall review. The beds, both the regular and the tatami-matted, were too firm and uncomfortable. There is no shower in either room because the shower was "covered" by a traditional onsen (hot spring) bathing facility.

Понравилась атмосфера этого места. Мы окунулись в традиции старого японского дома, персонал смог сделать это максимально мягко и ненавязчиво. Было по домашнему.уютно, будто приехали в гости к семье,. Это был наш первый подобный опыт, и он стоил этого.

По моему личному мнению, смену посещения онсенонов (мужской/женский) нужно делать по не по схеме 3 и 1 , а 2 и 2. Иначе когда приезжаешь на короткий период сложно посетить всех их.

A truly fantastic ryokan experience at Masutomi Ryokan. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and plentiful and the Sakura room was spacious and comfortable. An unforgettable experience that we’re really glad we booked!

Staying here felt like a true Japanese experience - we loved the place. Very handy location - about 5 mins walk from the train station. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We arrived a couple of hours early and there was no problem checking in. The room was really comfortable and much larger than I expected. The onsen was lovely to relax in. Breakfast is a real Japanese experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. I would definitely stay here again.

Nothing to do with the hotel but restaurants in Hakone close very early so be warned! At 6.30 we had to join an hour long queue for a pizza restaurant (very good) that was the only place open.

Helppo sijainti lähellä juna-asemaa. Illallinen ja aamiainen valtavia! Todella rahan arvoinen. Onsenit taivaallisia. Henkilökunta oli hyvin huomaavaista. Mukava ja rauhallinen paikka rentoutumiseen.

J’ai beaucoup aimé le cadre particulièrement dépaysant de cette auberge notamment les bains chauds très agréables ainsi que l’excellent petit-déjeuner. En outre, la personne à l’accueil s est montrée très agréable et serviable pendant mon séjour. Un sens de l’accueil qui fait plaisir à voir ! Un énorme merci à elle !!

J’étais au courant mais je dois avouer que ce n’est pas agréable de ne pas avoir de toilettes dans sa chambre. Le plus curieux de l’histoire c’est qu’en fait il y en avait !! Quand je suis rentré dans ma chambre le jour du départ pour vérifier si je n’avais rien oublié, j’ai découvert que derrière une porte qui était inaccessible pendant mon séjour, il y avait effectivement des toilettes !! C’est pour moi une chose incompréhensible car le prix payé justifie pleinement d’avoir accès à des toilettes individuels et non partagés avec tous les clients de l’hôtel.

Amazing location! 10 minute walk from the train station and very close to town. Staff was friendly and helpful and the room was spacious and very comfortable for us. I most enjoyed the breakfast and the onsens :)

No house keeping service for the rooms

The place was lovely- easy to find, staff spoke excellent English, rooms were spacious, comfortable, and clean. They had multiple onsen that they rotate by gender, and they are all very nice and clean, and soaking in them was so relaxing and refreshing. The location is perfect, close to the river and the village is so cute and the most perfect getaway. Breakfast was delicious and very traditional to Japan. Truly one of the best places I’ve ever stayed.

Le partage des sanitaires n'est pas très pratique : une seule salle de bain pour 4 chambres rend l'accès difficile et la réservation de créneaux de 45 minutes un peu bloquant...

Staying in a traditional ryokan was a unique experience. You have to roll with it a bit as it's not comparable to a more modern hotel, but if you're willing to do that you're in for a treat.

Things like not having your own bathroom would put me off normally, but you have to accept the experience on its own terms. The food was excellent but if we'd stayed longer we would have liked the opportunity to opt out of the evening meal, so that we could try other places in the area.

Très bel endroit, confortable. Les onsens sont très sympa.

Dommage que nous nous soyons senti un peu pressé le matin: débarrassage un peu hâtif du petit déjeuner et en rentrant dans notre chambre, le futon avait déjà été rangé alors que techniquement le check-out est à 10h!

Familiäres und traditionelles japanisches Hotel mit eigenem Onsen. Das Zimmer ist gross und auf der normalen Matratze sehr bequem zum schlafen. Die Zimmer haben keine eigene Duschen sondern nur das Onsen zum sich duschen. Die Gastgeber sind sehr aufmerksam, liebevoll und hilfsbereit. Definitiv eine Erfahrung wert gewesen.

Excellent stay! The room was super comfortable and clean, the staff was very friendly, the amenities exceeded expectations, and the food (we had both dinner and breakfast here) was fantastic. This is a perfect place nearby the train station in the charming town of Hakone :)

Primo ryokan in cui sono mai stato, e devo dire esperienza eccellente. Staff gentilissimo. Struttura estremamente accogliente (occhio alla testa per chi é alto piú di 1.80 come me ^^`) Colazione incredibile che mi ha fatto pentire di non aver incluso anche la cena nella nostra prenotazione. Offre varie onsen, 3 interne ed una esterna, in quelle in cui siamo stati ci siamo trovati molto bene. Stanza doppia, spaziosa, accogliente, futon molto comodi e bagno splendido (senza doccia, presenti negli onsen). Posizione molto buona vicino alla stazione e al centro cittadino (piccolo). Nota Bene: la struttura ha un coprifuoco alle 22:00, dopo di che la porta principale sará chiusa. Non é stato un problema perché a quell'ora tutti i locali sono giá chiusi.

其中一個溫泉分了晚上是女浴場，早上是男浴場。但在酒店資料中沒有寫明，遲了check-in，差點夠時間去那個泉。

Personnel au petit soin et extrêmement accueillant. La chambre était propre, bien qu'elle soit plus petite que les autres, nous avions suffisamment de place pour deux. La literie était confortable. L'emplacement proche du bus est un plus. Les onsens étaient agréables et propres. Le petit déjeuner était bon et très qualitatif
