Blue Bell Lodge Hotel

This unpretentious pit stop was a win for us and exceeded expectations. Andy and the team run a tight ship. The room was very comfortable, the restaurant menu was extensive, and the breakfast was great. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Very good value too.

The breakfasts were very good. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The Bluebell Pub adjoining the hotel was good and I was able to watch my AFL footy team play live in the finals series.

Some of the rooms are a little tired and while some have been refurbished, the finishing isn't the best. The fridge in our room didn't work. The hall carpets could use a good cleaning.

Pleasant staff particularly at the front desk. Breakfast was better than expected and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Breeding was a bit scratchy but not so much so that it hindered sleep.

This was our third stay and we deliberately book the hotel for its location. Check in was simple. We dined in the bar both nights of our stay, and the food was good.

Every time we went to reception, it was unstaffed; there wasn't even a bell and we had to go looking for assistance. Also the hotel seemed somewhat dingier than previous visits, the corridors were littered and the rooms tired.

newly refurbished rooms are a good standard. good breakfast We held a function here. It was very well managed and very good buffet.

When I was waiting to be served at the small bar there was no staff and had to take my little one through to the main bar to order food and drinks

The rooms were very comfortable and very clean. Bed very comfortable. Good shower I'm bathroom. Great perk that the hotel is part of a large pub and massive beer garden. Really tasty food. Great variety for breakfast. You definitely have an excellent chef /kitchen staff. Great location as well as we were attending a family funeral nearby and this hotel was so handy for us to stay. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel. Extra good point was getting 10% off food & drinks served in the bar/pub .

The location advertises disabled access, however this does not apparently apply to the hotel, which was not clear on the hotel website. The lift could accommodate a wheelchair, only when the foot rests were removed, and no other person could enter. No other disabled facilities available. There was a pervasive bad smell / odour throughout the bar, restaurant & hotel areas, with considerable staining of carpets. There was virtually no water pressure within the room, which meant the toilet took ages to refill, the shower had little throughput of water, so made showering an issue. It was hot weather and yet, whilst there was no air conditioning, which was understood when booking, there was also no fans within the bar, restaurant or room, therefore it was very hot and stuffy, with virtually no air movement. The food was of poor quality, having ordered the mixed grill, on it arriving I actually couldn't cut the steak! I am a large male using a dedicated steak knife and yet the meat was so tough and fatty that I couldn't physically cut it. My wifes scampi, just tasted off. I will state for transparency I could have complained at the time, however, having travelled for 8 hours, and having a disabled wife to care for, I just didn't have the energy to ask for a new steak/meals or for some form refund!

The lift is much too small I could not get my wife in her wheelchair into the lift without taking her out of the chair and collapsing it to storage mode. The superior rooms were not on the ground floor (I asked) There is not enough storage space for clothes- no drawers. I would rather have a set of drawers rather than the fridge. Fine for an overnight stay but we were staying Mon to Sat.

Die Größe des Zimmers, das Kingsize Bett war sehr bequem. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Es waren genug Parkplätze vorhanden und vor allem kostenlos. Das Frühstück war ausreichend und gut.

Leider ist das Hotel, besonders die Zimmer sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Das Zimmer und Bad waren zwar sauber aber es war überall zusehen, dass es dringend mal eine Renovierung benötigt.

Beds uncomfortable. Noise all night from vent and pipes. Can hear traffic as on busy road. Room tired and not very clean. Hotel is separate from the pub and could do with updating and paint refreshed

Despite being quite busy on a Saturday afternoon with football on too, the check in experience was first rate. Very helpful young lady checking us in and answering other queries we had. Food was lovely and hot with a quick service despite the aforementioned busy night. All praise to all the staff who were doing everything all at the same time but a special mention to Tegan (I hope i spelt that right) for the way she delt with us and an elderly gentleman before us. Very professional and courteous. A credit to your team.

The breakfast was a disaster. Ordered a bacon sandwich waited 55 minutes and it never arrived. Ended up having to leave without breakfast. No staff to ask where it was

We booked for one night and was very disappointed we booked the superior room which was not worth the money at all, had nowhere in the bathroom to put toiletries so had to leave them on the dressing table, there was no mirror in bathroom except a tiny hand mirror the tap was very loose, the bed was a standard double where is should have been king-size, there were marks all up the walls, there was a big chip in the bath, generally the room was not very clean, we complained about the room and was moved to another room but this wasnt very clean either. When i did the booking i asked for an accessable room and to be on ground floor as my husband is disabled and cant manage stairs or able to get in and out of the bath. Ther superior room has a walk in shower but the 2nd room was on ground floor with a bath which had a shower in with shower screen. the food was not very good, we waited for 45minutes for food to come out only to have to send the food back as it wasnt cooked properly, waited another 45 minutes and still wasnt cooked properly. Breakfast, service again was very slow, had to ask for stuff several times, there wasnt enough cups, bread. Sugar put out.

Each time the toilet was flushed during the night,5 minutes later it would flush itself 😂

We visited relatives who lived locally and found the bluebell met our needs very nicely. We have stopped there several times

Bar / Restaurant facilities were very tired looking. Staff were quite slow serving Rooms were being renovated in our corridor and they were hammering and drilling before 9am. No warning that this would be happening.

The room stunk potential of people smoking in the rooms and fag burns within the bathroom. The smell made me struggle to stay in the room. The breakfast was really slow and disorganised, I had to get a takeaway due to the time it would have taken to eat inside the hotel

The location was good for us as we know the area and needed to be walking distance to the crematorium. The bed & pillows were really comfortable.

Very poor value, worn, needs updating. Room not good, tv and a light didn’t work, wobbly taps on sink, window tricky to open and close. There was a function on when we arrived and in the evening it was unclear what areas of the hotel were available for food & drinks so we went out to eat.

The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean, there were fresh linens on the bed.

The hallways and lifts were quite dated and dirty. My partner had a hair in his breakfast when it came out to him and the coffee machine was cold in the breakfast area.

We come back regularly to visit family and the bluebell is central to most of our family and friends so an ideal place to meet up

Went a couple of weeks ago and I did say there were no coffee cups or glasses at breakfast obviously it was dealt with as at the breakfast table last weekend everything was out and on display bread for toast orange juice cereal and a full English was excellent keep it up & we will be bag next week

bREAkfasat choice was very limited fried food was very greasy I was allocated room 1 next to a door which was loud when closed there were foew occupants so why was I allocated such a poor location?

Every member of staff were excellent and went above and beyond. Rooms were clean and comfy plus had tea/coffee making facilities. Plus their breakfast that was included in the price was excellent and had a lot of choice.

The only thing I could say is that there were no plugs next to the bed. I have to plug in a CPAP machine for sleep apnea so had to ask for an extension lead which was no problem with the staff.

At breakfast at 9am there were no glasses for juice there were no cups 1 slice of bread I did ask for a glass & a coffee cup glass came out but no coffee cups I was disappointed with that not to have a coffee but ordered a breakfast which was fine

It was ok but lacked enough staff to service the number of customers that were in the bars. The room we stayed in was only ok but was adequate. However, the cooked breakfast which although substantial was not of a decent quality. The coffee filter machine which was switched on had cold coffee in the dispenser. The hot water for the tea was not boiling which resulted in a tea which was only tepid. There was no decaf options for my partner who just drank water. The cold buffet consisted of a small amount of fresh fruit and few croissants and bread for toast. The yoghurt for use with the museli was only provided in cheap little cartons. Other serials where in in little boxes reminiscent of an old fashioned bed and breakfast hotel. The waiting staff were young and lacked any form of skills required to carry out their duties, again with any form of management making sure things were being provided correctly.

We were part of a large family attending a funeral wake for my late brother. There was only one member of staff on the bar of the room where we held the function and it took over 30 minutes for some people to get a drink. Some of us tried to use the main bar but the two staff who were serving there seemed to be struggling with the volume of regular customers and kept disappearing for quite long periods and eventually one of them disappeared altogether. There was very little selection of quality beers and there were no zero alcohol beers, wines or spirits available for a large number of the guests attending the wake. Very disappointing

The location was good and I got a ground floor room with a bath as requested. Car parking is excellent with free parking for residents if you input your reg number.Also 10% of food and drink if you show your key each time you order.The buffet for our funeral party was excellent and would recommend.Brilliant outdoor seating with TV's.
