On one occasion my room was not cleaned by house keeping. I raised my concern with one of the helpers I saw but no action was taken. The linen was not very clean.

Close to the city centre

I did not like anything about this hotel from the minute I entered my shoes were sticking to the carpet. It was so bad. The tiles were all broken on the floor. The walls were filthy. It was so unpleasant. I had severe anxiety I did not stay I explained to him at reception that it was very unpleasant.

It was very, very dirty it was very unpleasant there was stands on the curtains. I was not sure if it was blood or paint. The room was extremely smelly. The mould was on the shower. It was just so dirty and so unpleasant.

The staff were lovely and it was very close to where we needed to be.

Was outdated and although the bed was comfortable and bedding was clean the room itself wasn't very clean. There were no bedside lamps or plug sockets. Just a 3 socket extension on the little table below the TV.

The location was perfect and defo worth the money aswell as the staff being lovely and helpful

The room and shower was absolutely disgusting

The room was tiny dust everywhere, holes in the walls. Shower facilities was absolutely disgusting. Wholes in walls and door, did not feel safe in the room.. the bed side lights were hanging off the walls.

The location isn't close to the city center, but the Uber fare to the city center is a fair price. I also like how friendly the staff was, most especially the staff at the restaurant. I've had issues with a lot of hotels in the UK installing just flat screen tvs for the guests without considering that every guest isn't British, but this one was different, they have a smart tvs in their rooms for guests to select anything they are interested in, ie Netflix, Prime, and YouTube. I will definitely visit again.

The bathroom and toilet needs to be cleaned more because the surfaces are dirty and it's not good for the personal hygiene of the guests, most especially women because they could get infected easily if they use a dirty toilet. The staff also need to check with the receptionist to know the hotels that needs cleaning before coming to knock on the doors. I will definitely visit again though.

The beds were uncomfortable

The room wasnt clean, bed linen was covered in marks, the pillows yellow and falling apart. Walls were battered, shower was broken and mouldy. the hall carpets were that dirty you couldnt tell what colour they was. Dated. Avoid like the plague. They did breakfast but I wouldn't have eaten there based on the cleanliness of the hotel. I have stayed in some pretty bad places on my travels, with my job as you do when you work all over the uk and I rarely leave reviews unless it leaves an impression. This one left one for all the wrong reasons.

Only the location. It is in the centre. The carpet is very dirty. Tiles on the corridors are broken. The beddings are not change until you ask for it. Television is there but you have to pay to watch channels

Problem with the bedroom window: it opened too far out and my partner had to stand on the window ledge to shut it. There was a problem with mould in the bathroom.

Everything, tired, tatty, poorly furnished, nothing was fitted correctly, shelfs falling of walls, scruffy, not clean enough, carpets and floors tatty,pillows were more like cot pillow, needs a complete re-fitt, from the photos it looked nice and modern, trust me it wasnt, I think booking.com should see the accomodation in person before they put them on there site, very dissapointed

Door were slamming throughout the night. On check in we were told breakfast was 6.30 so we set an alarm for 7 as we had an early start Saturday only to be told it was 8am on weekends

The photos don’t match the hotel . The bed was broken in the middle. The shower curtains was mouldy and the bath is self wasn’t clean (didn’t have a shower there) The breakfast was one of the worst not lot of choice . But after all that the staff was welcoming and helpful

It was a horrible place! Far from its name, run by just one woman who was a bartender cum receptionist cum restaurant manager. The towels were so dirty and after requesting for a new one, I got an equally muddier one with mud stains. For a solo traveler this is a nightmare of a place with the kind of crowd, lack of hotel staff and worst thing ...the room inside did not even have a basic lock. All there was, was a touch pad outside of each room where you enter the passcode and the lock opens, which basically means that anyone with your passcode can enter your room anytime! I was so scared, I made another booking from there in Guisborough Hall Hotel and ran out of there as quickly as I could before anything untoward happened!

The entry into the rooms and reception was through their bar, there was no proper door between the bar and the rooms, the rooms didn't have any additional locks to secure from inside. And the restaurant food made me throw up with the chicken curry smelling of raw chicken pieces, one poor over worked girl was playing both the chef and the server along with the supposed hotel manager.....

Staff friendly and location convenient for onward journey. Beds comfortable and clean

Kerb appeal was pretty poor. Carpets looked like they needed to be replaced and light fittings missing in both of our rooms. Beds really comfortable but very little space around them.

Awake since 3.30am as guests next door were off their faces, luckily staff kicked them out. Unfortunately we will not be back. No iron, rotten shower curtain, no working TV, carpet tread with spike sticking out, dirty windows that don’t fully close, lots of drunken people walking by, broken bedside shelves, uncomfortable beds, flat pillows, poor damaged flooring, no bath mat, dodgey screws sticking out of the carpet plat for door, dirty mildew tiles. Need I go on! Avoid like the plague!

Absolutely nothing to like what so ever

The hotel is absolutely disgusting and filthy as soon as I walked inside I knew I had made a mistake .. the carpets are grubby and not fitted properly the check in process was ok, the lady wrote a code for your door so there is no key as such … on walking to my room I went through a seating area with a restaurant to the left and it was so bland and devoid of anything that would be remotely acceptable… the corridor where the rooms are on the ground floor was a striped pattern but it was so filthy you could see stains all over it … this isn’t just a few marks it was disgustingly dirty… my door had part of the handle housing missing so there was a gaping hole where the lock mechanism should be that was stuffed with toilet roll to block out the hole … when I entered the room it got worse … it was like a prison cell with a double bed in the middle the most disgusting bedding and pillows that where lumpy and mottled with two silk pillow cases … I ended up putting a t shirt over them so I didn’t get lice … the bathroom was shocking the floor tiles where that badly cracked and damaged they moved when you walked on them … the sink was tiny and you couldn’t even wash your face properly as the tap was bigger than the basing which would flood due to a blockage of god knows what in the pipe so it was completely useless … the mirror above was blackened with a mouldy type substance around the edges .. only one spot light worked near the shower so it was so dark you couldn’t really see where you was going … the shower screens where grubby and mouldy with yellow sludge visible and there were yellow piss stains on the back of the toilet behind the seat with a what looked like pubic hair stuck to the gunge … I am absolutely amazed it’s given a 3 star rating it is an absolute fraudulent rating I didn’t feel safe I put my bag against the door and really didn’t sleep it felt grubby … I was in the area for work so it was a means to an end but please do not stay or book this hotel ..

Very small room, difficult to move around due to large shelving unit and very awkward to move around in shower room toilet and sink unit squashed to side of room with inadequate sink which splashed water onto flooring … breakfast options limited

Fixtures and fittings all need replacing shelves coming away from walls beds falling apart dirty shower stains on sheets and chairs large amount of ants in entrance hallway, 2 star fpod hygeine rating meant we didnt even risk staying for the breakfast. The whole place needs cleaning and a full refurbishment. Rubbish in the car park including old pair of trousers just sat in the middle of it

Reservering niet goed doorgekomen. Ik was niet de enige. . Alternatief - onderdeel van het bedrijf-.aan de overkant was niet goed. Vies, koude douche, oude bende. Ontbijt ook slecht. Vieze tafels, geen personeel.

There’s basic and there’s basic, whatever they had used to clean the floor with made it very sticky, that’s if it had been cleaned. Satin pillow cases…….? Really! I could work out if it was somewhere for those seeking asylum or roomed rented by the hour. I don’t particularly feel Safe or comfortable

It was in a good location, easy to walk to and from the train station and also the main centre and university. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Rooms and corridors were a bit ‘tired’ but generally clean. There was a lot of shouting outside the hotel overnight as it is based on a main road, plus guests shouting in the corridors overnight.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Good parking and access to routes in and out of Middlesbrough.

For a hotel, the facilities were basic, dated and a little scruffy in places, with loose plug sockets. Beds were clean, but we had a fly in our (clean) toilet, along with a stained small blanket. Breakfast only until 9am and limited choices. It felt like a start up business with lessons still being learned ... BUT, the staff were all friendly, so helpful and made our stay much more positive than we initially expected. Parking on site was plentiful, very close to Teeside Uni and local amenities. With a little more attention to detail, this could be a thriving hotel. This may have just been "two of those days", every business has them, but again, the staff were wonderful.

On the booking it stated either a bath or a shower was available for the type of room I booked- I request a bath - on getting to my room it was a shower- spoke to the receptionist who advised all double rooms only have a shower. The only room available with a bath was the triple room which I would have to pay an extra £15 for I did this as I can not manage a shower. Think this needs updating on the hotel site. Whilst I then had a bath the plug for said bath didn't fit very well but as I was already getting sorted for my bath it was too late to report to reception. I did manage to sort it with some clever thinking

The bed was incredibly comfortable. The room had everything that you need, plus power sockets near the bed ( in the room I stayed in anyway ) the buffet style breakfast was very nice, with a great selection. When I'm up in Middlesbrough again, I will definitely stay there again.

Wouldn't say I didn't like it, but the shower could of been a bit more powerful. Still it wasn't bad tho.
