I have no idea why the ratings are so low...? The location is great - several good family-run restaurants within a few mins walk, free shuttle to the airport, etc. It's great for an overnight (or 2) stop. The pool is lovely and heats up to a very pleasant temperature by early afternoon. The gym is also very good. Lively bar. Rooms: typical comfy American style - 2 big beds with everything you need. Air-conditioned. Can hear some doors slam from other rooms once in a while, but rally not bad. I stayed here 3 times during August. Would return again if laying over at LAX.

They charge extra for early check-in or late checkout. Reasonable considering it's an airport hotel, but I don't have to like it :) At least they offer different fees for number of hours early/late - so it is flexible.

Hôtel à proximité de l'aéroport. Navette gratuite pour l'aéroport toutes les 20 minutes. Pratique pour récupérer quelques heures lors d'une escale à LA. Avec Air France, les bagages suivent jusqu'à Papeete. Il est donc inutile de les récupérer à LA. Quelques heures de repos à l'hôtel pour dormir (petite sieste) permet d'atténuer un peu le décalage horaire. Présence d'une belle piscine pour se détendre avant de repartir.

Hôtel un peu vieillot, mais suffisant pour une courte escale. La chambre n'est théoriquement disponible qu'à partir de 16H mais la réception nous l'a laissée à partir de 14H.

It was clean and comfortable. We chose this hotel because it was close to the airport and it had a shuttle. I have to give high praise to the shuttle driver, i am handicapped and walk with crutches, the steps into the shuttle were a bit tall and my knees don't bend very well, he was very helpful and suggested using the handicap ramp to get in. I was very relieved to be able to use this and not attempt the steps. He also used it to get me out at our stop in the airport. He was so nice and helpful.

Shuttel was super waren binnen 15 min opgehaald zowel bij aankomst als terug naar de luchthaven. Kamer was zeer schoon babybed was super werd om 12 uur snachts nog netjes op de kamer gebracht.

I think for the money you could’ve offered a little bit more. For instance, the basic breakfast would’ve been nice or some kind of shuttle to Union Station understanding further but it’s still a location that is you like being by LAX in the carpets are not the best

The rooms are beautiful. I stayed and the King Suite and was not disappointed! It was so spacious and comfy. Highly recommended.

It’s convenient for flying. It’s clean all through out the building to our bedroom.

While the property itself is spotless, the services weren’t good and the staff were not helpful. It’s not convenient when you have several luggages and bags coz they don’t allow guest to use their trolleys. Only a bell staff can do it, meaning you have to tip. I think every single service requires tipping, including parking because they only use valet parking. I can drive and park my own car.

Abbiamo soggiornato una notte in attesa di un volo il mattino dopo. Troppo poco per dare giudizi. Lo staff è molto accogliente, camera pulita e soprattutto la colazione, compresa nel prezzo, di buona qualità e varietà. Rapporto qualità/prezzo eccellente.

The property was perfect for us.

I had a very disappointing experience. I booked through Booking.com with payment due at the property. My credit card had been compromised and was replaced before my trip. The hotel apparently tried to run the old card, it declined, and they canceled my reservation without notifying me. Booking.com still showed my reservation as confirmed. After flying from Oregon to Los Angeles, my husband, son, and I arrived around 11:00 p.m. only to be told we no longer had a room. I had even called ahead to let them know our flight was delayed, and no one mentioned the cancellation. Instead, I was told everything could be fixed at check-in. The first front desk employee showed no empathy and simply said that declined cards are automatically canceled. Thankfully, another employee spoke with a manager and reinstated our reservation. Unfortunately, the replacement room was not what I booked. Instead of a room that slept three with a sofa bed, we were given a much smaller accessible room with only one king bed. One employee insisted three adults could simply share the bed and initially wanted to charge us extra for a cot. Another employee, Randy, was wonderful and brought us a cot at no charge. He was the only bright spot in the experience. Despite paying for a larger room, we never received what we reserved, and the front desk showed little interest in making it right. Poor communication, poor customer service, and a frustrating way to start our vacation.

Next door on our room where people smoking weed in the middle of the night.. the smoke cominy thru exhaust vent on our bathroom.We report it and we move out to the room . So much hassle to move on the other room in the middle of the night

The service was excellent. The food was delicious. I enjoyed having my own thermostat in the room so I could set the temperature to what I desired. I would stay here again and recommend other people stay here.

I had a few tiny things I would change. I would have preferred thicker bed sheets as I did get a little cold at night. My room was not very soundproof. I could hear a family arguing late at night. But these didn't hinder my stay and I would still come back to this hotel.

The airport shuttle

The food at dinner was dry, overcooked and really expensive. The breakfast was the same and practically the same cost we paid for the 4 of us. The pool was dirty with peeling paint, broken sun loungers and loads of debris on the pool floor. Above all though - the staff at reception were so rude and not helpful :-(

Per scaricare le valigie e fare il check in ho lasciato l'auto nel parcheggio antistante l'ingresso. Il tempo comunicatomi per spostare l'auto era troppo stretto per espletare le procedure. Inoltre il pos della hall non acquisiva le carte per pagare il deposito cauzionale, se non avessi avuto Google pay non avrei potuto soggiornare,anche perché non accettano contanti.

I got it on the right eye, and I ordered Uber Eats . I called downstairs and I specifically instructed the staff to allow my Uber Eats to be brought up to the room. It’s an inconvenience when you get in from a red eye. And you have to leave your room again because the property doesn’t allow delivery to the room. Keep in mind perspective, a client gets to the room why would they want leave the room again? Instead of declining facilitate something easier for the client. With this situation happening after I instructed the staff to allow the Uber Eats to my room. I was refused. It just showed me that that’s not a hotel where I would like to stay at in the future. Accommodations inconvenience in something that is extremely important to me when I travel for business. I’m not having to leave my room repetitively.

The property was located extremely close to the airport which meant it was easy to get to. The hotel had a complimentary shuttle bus which runs frequently. The room was very clean and spacious.

The Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles Hotel is a large property situated right at the entrance to LAX Airport. It is the closest hotel in the Bonvoy portfolio to the LAX terminals and is easily walkable in about 15 minutes. It is a rather unmemorable property, but it is highly functional for a short stay near the airport. That said, many parts of the property feel dated, including the elevators and hallways. However, the rooms were clean and comfortable. I stayed in a king suite with a separate sitting area. As a Bonvoy Ambassador elite member, I had access to the Sheraton Club lounge, which provided a quick breakfast option. The lounge is closed from 22:00 to 06:30, so you cannot get any snacks or beverages if arriving on a late flight—unlike the Marriott LAX down the street, which features a 24-hour M Club.

Rooms were very clean, well stocked and comfortable. I’ve stayed here multiple times over many years.

The food options are highly expensive and unhealthy. Breakfast buffet was over $50 and options were bland and basic.

We took Amtrak up from San Diego before flying to Japan. It was great having the bus drop us at Terminal 1 and heading downstairs and walking to the hotel. The shuttle was great in the morning. The hotel was pretty and the room was comfortable.

I’ve traveled to around 30 countries and visited well over 100 cities, staying everywhere from world-famous hotels to small family-run places. This was the first hotel where I encountered paid Wi-Fi for guests. Even as a Marriott Bonvoy member, the complimentary internet was limited to basic web browsing and email, while normal high-speed internet cost almost $20 per day. In 2026, I honestly didn’t expect this from a Sheraton. The hotel’s proximity to LAX was excellent, but the internet policy was surprisingly outdated.

AC was not working properly. The trash hadn’t been out from the people staying in the room before me. Expected higher quality for the price.

I was in room on the 8th floor. At 5am I could smell cigarette smoke. I awoken by the smell. There was an adjoining room and you could hear the person in the next room.

Upgraded to a Queen room. Very spacious. Close to LAX with regular shuttle. Staff in restaurant and brasserie were very friendly and accomodating.

There was a pubic hair on the toilet. Housekeeping entered my room around 9am, way before 11am check out time that I extended to 12pm the night before. I was naked and had to scream at the woman to leave. Restaurant menu was great, but the lettuce wedge was half a lettuce and so hard that I couldn't cut through it so had to abandon it.

The bar area had a big screen showing World Cup soccer games which was great. Staff were very friendly and service was excellent.

I was very disappointed with my stay. The bathtub had dried urine stains and an unpleasant smell, which is completely unacceptable for any hotel. On top of that, aircraft noise continued throughout the night, making it difficult to get any decent sleep. Considering the high room rate, I expected a much better experience. The food was another major letdown. Both the bar meals and the breakfast were poor in quality and well below what I would expect from a hotel charging these prices. Overall, this hotel was overpriced and failed to meet even basic standards of cleanliness, comfort, and food quality. I would not stay here again.
