The staff, the room, the breakfast, all were excellent! The fact that everything was organic was brilliant!
Nothing
We had a room with a private balcony and a spa bath. It’s well located near a lovely trail . Big thanks to the great service from the breakfast team, - a lovely young lady who was tirelessly preparing and topping up the buffet . Many lovely touches
The blue light in the bathroom
The hotel is perfectly situated in Grasmere and is a stone‘s throw away from Wordsworth‘s grave (as well as the Gingerbread shop in the old school house). The room I stayed in was enormous as was its double bed which was exceptionally comfortable. The breakfast in the morning, a full compliment of fresh croissants, mueslis, and a full English with excellent Cumberland sausages, was fantastic too. The car parking was a welcome bonus. I hope to stay there again.
De locatie, de ruime kamer, heerlijke ontbijt
Niets
The hotel is located right in the centre of Grasmere village with all amenities on the doorstep. I had a large, very comfortable room with a spacious bathroom. The breakfast was special with healthy organic ingredients.
Parking on the premises is limited. The hotel does not serve dinners so evening meals need to sought elsewhere.
Comfortable, good location

I had a lovely big bath and bathroom.
Fantastic breakfast, beautiful and comfortable room however bathroom needed extra hanging space for wash bags, wet coats/clothes and no shelving for toiletries.
Lack of handle on bath was a problem at our age. No slip mat in bath which would have helped due to lack of handle. Shower screen did not prevent water from running on to the floor.
The room was lovely
You can hear next door room bathroom far too much in room 5
We like the general organic ethos, and the use of local ingredients for breakfast including homemade bread.
Amazing location, spacious bedroom and comfortable bed.
I had informed the property well in advance that I’m a coeliac and it was confirmed it could be catered for, but on arrival there was no GF cake option. I asked last on reception to make sure bread would be left out for breakfast and she said she would get GF sausage out of freezer. Came down to breakfast to find said lady had forgotten to defrost sausage so it would be available day 2. We were walking 22km day 1 so would have been nice to have it that day particularly when I had paid over £200 for the room per night. Also, noisy GF room from 6:30 so woken early both mornings. They had forgotten to separate the beds despite requesting it- small matter but sloppy. Grout in shower needs a clean with a toothbrush- it’s basics.
Very nice property. Very clean
Recently in July 2026, we drove from London to Edinburgh, passing Lake District and fortunately able to book Moss Grove Organic. The place is nice, clean and bed comfortable. The breakfast is one of the best we had. All great ingredients, and healthy food. The hosts Lynette and Duncan are great hosts, kind and wonderful people and very helpful. They made our stay very pleasant. Highly recommend!
The room, bed, spa bath, view
Breakfast, haphazard, no bacon, not hot enough
Breakfast; a good selection was available
Although complimentary afternoon tea/coffee & cake was available this wasn't mentioned on check-in.
everything was exceptional. The lovely staff made the stay even more beautiful 1000000/10! beds super comfy, breakfast was delightful. and location absolutely 10/10. would recommend to anyone wanting a comfy and relaxing stay.
that we couldn't stay longer due to child care waaaa
Lovely hosts. Great location. Brilliant accommodation

Nothing
Fabulously appointed , great location , friendly staff , simply the best breakfast!
A bit pricey ! ….
Lovely staff. Great breakfast.
Cost
We booked five rooms for a family gathering and all were fabulous.
From arrival to departure all went well. The rooms and breakfast were excellent.
Perhaps a fan in the room during summer months
The hosts were lovely, made us feel very welcome. Couldn’t do enough for us. Gave advice about the area etc. The food and service was great.
Our room was in the attic, I bumped my head on a beam - I’m only 5ft 2”.
Liked the breakfast area and the system of selecting various elements. Lovely breakfasts by the way Good to have a car park attached to the hotel
Didn't like the stairs to the top floor - took me quite a time to climb up due to knee issues. If we were to return I would request a room on a lower floor
Great property! Best food! Fresh organic breakfast. Afternoon cakes! Close to best gingerbread in the world!
Emergency Road works outside window. Unfortunately and unknown to owner, the roadworks kept us up all night. It was an unfortunate emergency. Host made concessions for us.
Uitstekend bed. Grasmere is prachtig maar zeer druk.
Lawaaierig aan de straatkant. Ontbijt is wel organic maar weinig smakelijk gepresenteerd. Eerder een B&B dan een hotel, 3 sterren is realistischer.
Lovely people, accommodation, location and breakfast.
Nada
Good location, quite place, unique ambiance
Not enough space for parking proportionate to number of cars, no AC or fans on this hot weather, breakfast was not up to the standards
Great location with everything around it.
We had room 2 with the jacuzzi which despite the roof is over liked by the rooms up and the property at the back. Just got comfortable and the bar/which is over the back emptied a bin full of glass bottle in the there skip. Not relaxing if that what your looking for
It was roomy, staff were extremely friendly and it was such a good location.
The breakfast was disappointing for the money.
Friendly, comfortable good quality food and furnishings.
Room hot, perhaps a fan but it was a heat wave! Milk in room too for the morning cuppa
Lokalizacja
W pokoju było tak nisko, że cały czas musiałam chodzić zgięta, uważając, żeby nie uderzyć się w głowę
Location and beautiful room
Beautiful room, great breakfasts.
A bit pricey.
Everything. Was close to everything really friendly staff, everything was clean and was lovely
Couple more warm/hot options for breakfast
Magnificent scenery, friendly and helpful people, comfortable room
The kettle in our room dribbled water onto the table.
Amazing stay. Perfect location. Extremely clean. The staff are wonderful, they literally can’t do enough for you. Great breakfast!!! Thanks for our stay ❤️
Nothing
sense of spaciousness, big comfortable stable bed, lovely bathroom, good breakfast arrangements, great situation in the village, very helpful staff
nothing
Comfortable and clean with very helpful staff and breakfast was lovely. Beautifully fur and decorated. Perfect location in Grasmere for hiking in the hills and exploring the town.
Great location and parking on site Staff very friendly and helpful Rooms clean
Great location, hosts were excellent and very friendly, lovely hotel
Nothing, it was great
Plenty of room, very comfortable and clean. Biscuits & fresh milk offered for tea. Excellent buffet breakfast. Friendly & informative staff.
No coffee machine, not a fan of filter coffee. Safety lights in bathroom not fitted properly (this was advised to the hotel and not a major concern). Small things which did not detract from our enjoyment at the hotel.
Friendly staff and excellent breakfast
Parking was a nightmare. Information on booking stated car parking was available - one space per room. I had to park elsewhere initially and move my car when someone went out for the evening. Left my car parked over the weekend as so worried about not getting a space. Grasmere is a nightmare for parking. This has put me off booking this hotel in future!
Staff were very friendly. Room was very spacious with a very large bathroom. Lovely breakfast in the morning.
Nothing to dislike about this B&B. Loved it - will definitely be returning!
Everyone was helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much. The homemade bread was delicious.
The room was spacious, the staff were really helpful and friendly and the location was great.
The high bed was hard to get on and off.
Great location, lovely and helpful staff. Nice big room and tasty breakfast!
It was all great

The hotel is right in the middle of Grasmere and very comfortable. The staff were all really helpful and the breakfast was lovely. We made a late booking with only a few days notice - which may account for the cost- but we felt that it wasn’t very good value for money compared to other places we have stayed at.
The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming... and a beautiful little town. We had a comfortable room and were in walking distance to everything around us. I found the bed very comfortable, my husband, not as much, but he is heavier 😅. Loved the spa bath, which had amazing jets. There is a lot to do. We weren't aware of the massive cycle race happening , and actually chose the weekend based on it not being school holidays, but I will say, it was a great atmosphere all round. Absolutely beautiful to see all the little lambs and stunning green fields around you. Although breakfasts were very casual, it was lovely and homely - I would probably go back again .. really amazing hosts.
We were a long drive away from our Scaffel pike hike, no fault of the hotel. That is what came up when I googled places to stay if I wanted to hike Scaffel Pike. I booked a room with a hot tub, but it was very visible for me.... Despite having a cover, it felt as if people could look out their rooms and see right into the little garden. It would be nice to have a bit of time in the hot tub after a long hike, and not feel as if you were exposed (though, the jets in the bath did adequately make up for relaxation). There could be a dim light or emergency lamp for the bathroom at night, as going to the toilet and having to turn on a bright light is a bit disruptive to another sleeping person, so I found I had to use my phone torch (it's a small issue - a tiny touch lamp on the wall may be adequate). An option for some take aways or light snacks would be great, especially in the event of a long day out and then wanting to just relax.
The property is lovely, our room was beautiful with a huge four poster and quality furnishings, we both slept very well. We felt very welcome and relaxed throughout our stay. The location is superb, very central to all Grasmere has to offer, whilst still maintaining a feeling of quiet and tranquility.
The bathroom door was hard to keep closed, but a very minor problem.
Lovely hosts and breakfast was fantastic!
Comfortable room, lovely bathroom with bath and walk in shower, breakfast good.parking outside the hotel, room on ground floor.
Very friendly staff, great location.
Low beam in our room.
The bed was superb, wonderful breakfast. Sweet host!
Plastic free, organic food and drinks, helpful friendly staff. Right in the middle of the village for easy access to amazing walks and the Wordsworth museum.
Nothing, loved it.
Lovely hotel situated in the heart of Grasmere, A beautiful, peaceful little part of the world. From the minute we checked in we were made to feel welcome and can honestly say the staff are some of, if not the friendliest hosts I’ve come across. The breakfast is outstanding and showcases plenty of locally sourced produce and enough choice to cater for just about everyone I’d say. We stayed in the hot tub suite which boasts a fantastic sized and more importantly, exceptionally comfortable bed, jacuzzi bath and decent shower along with ample tea, coffee, biscuits and everything else you’d expect to find…. Oh and of course a hot tub. A short drive from Ambleside and Windermere it’s an ideally placed accommodation. Perfect for a short break away to celebrate our wedding. The room was dressed accordingly which was a wonderful touch. Thank you x
No negatives to mention
Breakfast was my main problem..i thought it was going to be a full cooked breakfast..
I didn't like the breakfast set up..the room was on the top floor..had to be careful when walking around the room incase you banged your head
Location fantastic and host very welcoming
Nothing
Lovely hosts, beautiful room and great location
Choice of breakfast
really Good breakfast and attentive and friendly staff. Good shower.
Nothing!
Great location, very comfortable bed, jacuzzi bath, nice lounge area, delicious breakfast. Stunning decor, and a warm welcome. We would certainly hope to return.
Our room had a beautiful bathroom with a jacuzzi bath, situated down a few steps. There is no door between the bedroom and bathroom. You cannot see directly into the bathroom but could hear. Not a problem for us as a longstanding couple but could be a bit tricky for those early on in a relationship. We would have preferred the guest information in a written form rather than accessed by scanning a QR code.
The room we stay in with the hot tub is very big and roomy
There is. Nothing we dislike we stay there all the time
Private hot tub
Nothing
Lovely place, warm, cosy and homely
Can’t think of anything
My whole experience was 10/10 if i could give 12/10 I would Staff were super friendly and amazing
It was just spot on no issues
Comfortable room, great location, friendly staff, tasty breakfast.
Need more pillows on bed
the superior room with the high bed was extremely comfortable , the spa bath was excellent spent way to long in there , really enjoyed our stay
room was a good size would benefit from a fridge , not a huge selection for hot breakfast , no bacon , beans black pudding etc....
lovely place- very Blean and great service
towel rail in bathroom didn't heat up
Clean,lovely furniture.
Superb location in the centre of grasmere, nice and quiet, staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was great, highly recommended
The room was very clean and comfortable, also the bed. I was pleased to find a proper bath in the bathroom too! The staff were very friendly, and the location fantastic, in central Grasmere. The hotel also had very easy parking on the premises. Great base for walks in the Lake District, and lots of good restaurants nearby. And we did appreciate organic food for breakfast.
There was nothing we disliked. I was a little disappointed not to get a "full English" breakfast option (no bacon, but there was good sausage), but this was a small thing.
Quality breakfast, but could feel a bit repetitive if you stay for longer. Having said that, we really appreciate that they offer local produce. We arrived at a quiet booking time, and therefore had a free upgrade and the reception staff very kindly let us choose our room (as we stayed here once before and would like to stay in the same room we did). Jacuzzi bath after a long mountain walk was a treat, and room was warm and spacious.
I'd suggest to have a better kitchen extractor so that cooking smell doesn't rise up to bedrooms.

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
9.8/10Multiple reviews praise the hotel as extremely clean and well maintained; minor issues noted (kettle dribbled) but overall cleanliness is excellent.
Service
10/10Service is a standout: hosts and staff repeatedly described as lovely, extremely helpful and attentive, often 'can’t do enough' for guests.
Location
10/10Location repeatedly praised as perfect for Grasmere, close to attractions and excellent for walks; many reviews cite the situation in the village as a key positive.
Room Quality
8.6/10Rooms are generally comfortable with good beds and bathrooms, but there are recurring negatives: some attic rooms have low beams/low ceilings, stairs can be difficult, rooms can be hot and a jacuzzi room was disappointing.
Amenities
8/10On-site parking is appreciated but sometimes limited; notable lacks include no AC/fans in hot weather and some noisy external factors affecting relaxation; jacuzzi and kettle issues mentioned.
Value for Money
8/10Mixed signals on value: several guests find the hotel a bit pricey or more like a B&B for the price, and a few felt breakfast did not fully match the cost.
Food and Beverage
9.3/10Breakfasts and food/service receive strong praise (fresh/organic, good selection and cakes), though a minority found presentation or options underwhelming on some mornings.
Overall Experience
9.1/10Overall stays are highly positive with many glowing recommendations, excellent staff and location; occasional negatives (noise, room quirks, value) temper perfection but do not dominate.
