The Z Nite Hostel

After reading several reviews about the staff, I was a little worried about what kind of welcome we would get. In reality, my experience was much better. The gentleman at reception was very pleasant and helpful, and overall I did not experience the negative behaviour mentioned in some previous reviews. The room was basic but spacious enough, with enough room to open two suitcases comfortably. The accommodation is clearly aimed at less demanding travellers, but for the price it does its job. The Wi-Fi and basic facilities were sufficient, and breakfast, although simple, was enough to start the day. Overall, the price-quality ratio is fair. If you are looking for simple accommodation at a reasonable price and don’t expect luxury, this is a perfectly acceptable option.

The mattress and pillows were rather firm, and the bathroom was quite small and not in perfect condition, although everything was functional. The biggest downside was the heat inside the building. The air-conditioning in the room is switched off during the day, and there is no air-conditioning in the hallway or main lobby. It gets very hot — you take a shower, walk into the corridor, and almost immediately feel sweaty again. 😄 The female staff could also smile a little more, although I personally did not have any serious problems with them. Breakfast is very basic, so don’t expect much variety.

Hostel perfeito em Phuket. Super confortável e limpo, os staffs são muito gentis e ainda servem café da manhã. Localização ótima pra se locomover pela cidade, a uma distância caminhável da Old Town e com várias opções de cafés e restaurantes por perto. Um dos melhores hostels que já fiquei!!

Hostel muy cómodo, limpio y con personal amable. Si bien les cuesta un poco el inglés tiene todas las intenciones de ayudarte a que esté bien web tu estadía. Las camas cómodas los colchones gruesos los marcos de las camas firmes lo que se agradece mucho en un hostel por qué te permite moverte o subir sin molestar el sueño del de abajo.

Honestamente que el aire acondicionado tuviera horario. Eran pocas las horas que lo cortaban de 11:30 a 16:30. Se que es política del hostel pero es lo único que me choco

Convenient location. Good beds.

Very poor breakfast(doesn’t worth at all). Common areas too hot-impossible to stay. Supposed to have snacks available. Instead there was only water, and rusty tea pot. Receptionist appeared for limited time. Sensitive documents, people’s passports photocopies were accessible by anyone passing the reception. A cleaner was most of the day at the reception but not willing to assist with anything else apart from the check in and out.

I booked female room only, they were comfortable and spacious with lockers outside the room. The staff were really friendly and they provided towels The air con worked well and there was a fan inside the bed cubicle which made it feel fresh. There are different areas to sit down and meet people or work on your own stuff which is nice. There were washing and drying machines provided with no need to bring your own detergent. The staff were nice and gave me a souvenir when I checked out.

I disliked that if you check out before 6am, you have to leave your keys the night before with the staff. This caused me issues as I gave them the keys the night before, but I was washing clothes (the washing machine is outside the building), and I couldn't get in as the staff was also gone (this was after 10-11pm). I stayed outside for about 30 minutes until a random guest came in. I would suggest to have a box in reception to place the keys once there is a check out. That way these accidents won't happen.

Breakfast wasn’t great. I think it’s abit harsh you are not allowed any drinks in your room, I totally understand food but it is a very warm place & it is very easy to get dehydrated when you can not drink water for 12 hours, very unsafe.

It was old and run down, very dirty. Hostel rooms, bathrooms, shared facilities all filthy It’s very cheap but still isn’t worth it. Take nothing away from the staff, they’re lovely

The room and beds were clean.

I think this place was family run, it felt more like a homestay than a hostel. There was only two people running the whole place; some areas were clean while some were quite messy. Some of the bathrooms did not have hot water. Also, the kitchen and downstairs bathroom were really messy. Breakfast was home cooked (one egg and toast) and it wasn’t bad. Ac was turned off in the rooms most of the day so it was really hot and unlivable during the day. It’s not a bad place if you’re on a budget, but you can definitely find better places around the same price in Phuket (I moved to Mad Monkey and it cost the same with much better conditions)

I was about to leave when a staff member came to change the bed sheets. I went to the bathroom for less than two minutes. When I returned, the bed was supposedly finished, and the staff member was spraying fragrance directly onto it. I do not believe the entire bed could have been properly changed.

no te dan una sábana o cobija para taparte sino una toalla dura, que no es cómoda. Y no funcionaba la luz para mi litera, me han indicado que estaban cambiado o algo así pero tenía que utilizar la linterna de mi celular para ubicarme

Accessible to Old Phuket

- Attitude of staff was not friendly. He was kind of a jail warden kind. Maybe because of the communication gap. But I felt not good. - No common area for socialising. - Rooms are not spacious.

Beds were comfortable and the staff was good and cooperative. Breakfast was excellent.

But the hygiene of the washroom was disappointing — it was not clean and had a bad smell. Another major inconvenience was the lack of charging points near each bed.

The location

They booked for me a tour to the James Island and the company never picked up me and no one was responsible. The recepcionist went until 10 am to the reception and the housekeeper didn’t help me to call them because she said me that she didn’t have credit to call and when I required for a breakfast she maked bad faces. I don’t recomend this places and never book tours with them.

The ubication

They booked 1 tour for me and anyone picked up me. The staff was not responsible and I lost one day because it is imposible to get to the James Island for by self at the last time. The housekipper has always a bad face when you ask for breakfast. Even i requested for help to call to the tour team and she said me that she doesn’t have credit for call them. Really bad experience

Everything was perfect. The price I paid was really worth it and the location is also very peaceful and near to Phuket Old Town. Both the staffs were much friendly and kind.

They provide only 2 bread in the breakfast 😭. I know it's sufficient to a lot of people but it was less according to me. Also there is only 1 socket. So either you charge your mobile/laptop or switch on the fan

Very kind staff. Clean room. Bedsheets and mattress are very good and comfortable. Location is just few walking destence to centrum. Good value for money. I had a good stay and recommend this hostel.

L’hôtesse d’accueil était très gentille, elle m’a très bien accueilli, je ne me suis jamais senti perdu, les chambres sont vraiment de qualité, et les espaces communs sont vraiment super, le déjeuner est préparé avec amour et je reviendrai très vite à l’occasion.

Room was clean, bed was comfortable, I liked that there was only 4 beds in the room, hot shower, I didn't have to pay for the towel like in some other hostels

The staff members weren't very friendly, the wifi was bad, the aircon in the room was on very low temperature and it was very cold during the night we didn't allow remote to set it to temp we want, it was a bit far from the old town, unpleasant smell in the bathroom

The staff is friendly and the rooms are spacious.

1. The property switches off the AC for five hours in the middle of the day under the excuse of “saving energy” — when it clearly feels like they’re saving on electricity bills at the direct expense of guests’ comfort. 2. Each bed has just **one** charging socket — and it’s occupied by the fan. If you want air, you plug in the fan. If you want to charge your phone, you'll need to unplug the fan. You cannot do both. In 2026, that’s simply unacceptable. 3. While the showers may appear clean, the water pressure is abysmal. If you’re taller than 5’6” or even moderately built, it’s not just inconvenient — it’s frustratingly unusable. 4. Astonishingly, there is no handwash provided in the washrooms. None. In a shared hostel environment, that level of negligence is beyond comprehension. 5. Their Booking.com reviews proudly highlight their “breakfast.” Please don’t be misled. I tried it once, and it was hands down one of the worst breakfasts I’ve ever had. 6. The location is also far from any genuinely good spots, adding further inconvenience to an already disappointing stay.

I arrived early and could leave my bag. The receptionist was nice and kind! I got lower bunk bed as requested!

One of the shower heads on 3rd floor was broken.

Not busy, fairly quiet, close to Old Town without being right on top of all the congestion

Advertised as also a cafe but never saw a menu or anything that hinted that there was any sort of cafe there. When checking in staff never mentioned anything about breakfast or any other meals being available on site (whether free or for purchase). Room was clean, though my bunk did not have a proper blanket, only what looked like an oversized terry-cloth bath towel (same color and texture as the bath towels provided, just larger). Other bunks in the room had proper blankets.

Solo female traveller. I had a great stay at Z Nite hostel. The staff were friendly, available and helped carry my luggage to the room. The room was clean with AC and a fan and didn't feel crowded with beds. There are storage lockers available just outside the room door (I suggest bringing your own locks). No complaints complaints regarding my stay!
