Easy check-in, friendly staff member on the bar when I arrived and left. Clean room and pleasant shower facilities

Friends that stayed at the hotel over the same weekend reported issues of finding their rooms unlocked/doors left open by cleaning staff when they returned after days out. With recent security issues at other chain hotels, I expect this to be taken seriously.

Checking in was very efficient and I was pleased to find I had a ground floor room in a nice courtyard to the rear of the property. Room and small bathroom both well appointed. Facilities included a microwave but not something i wanted to use.

Choice of TV programmes was a bit limited but not a serious issue for me. Unfortunately I had a medical problem that had been coming on for several days and I decided to return home a day early to sort this out, which was very disappointing as I rather like Gloucester!

Immediate car park behind really confusing as no car park apps were working. Have emailed as concerned will get ticket. This coukd definitely put us off staying there again. Idea! Why not form a link with the car park and offer guests free parking or a nominal nightly fee or pass to display

Room a little warm

It was clean and tidy , I had the back single room that ment I didn’t get to here noise from street. Bathroom was clean as was the room. Bar down stairs very tidy as well.

Room was very small , reception was always closed you had to speak to someone in the bar.

Very clean room, great shower with two different heads, and I liked having a fridge in the room. I slept very well.

The staff were really lovely, helpful, professional and friendly. The room was clean, and the hotel’s location was great. The facilities were good, and it was useful to have a kettle and a refrigerator in the room.

The location of the room was not ideal, as it was on a busy street and there was a lot of noise at night. We were unable to close the windows because the weather was too warm, and there was no air conditioning. There was a fan in the room but didn't make any difference.

It was near everything and had everything i needed, it was clean and staff very good

The apartment was very well located, the shower was powerful.

We were originally given a room that when we opened the door there was someone else already in that room. The room was very hot and toilet stained. There was a smell of old smoke in our room

The microwave and fridge with cutlery and crockery. I The ability to lock the room from the inside, especially when someone tried to use their card to open my door. Probably by mistake. The location. Close to train and bus station and walk out to shops, restaurants, bars, attractions.

Explained when I checked in I was a night worker so I'd be sleeping during the day no messages passed o to the cleaning staff woke up every morning after 2 to 3 hours sleep

The location is great right in the centre of Gloucester . It was quiet the rooms were very well equipped clean and comfortable. They were a tad hot but they provided a fan to assist . Reasonably priced . Staff were really helpful . There was rarely anyone on reception but the girls in the bar were lovely

It didn’t do breakfast but it was affiliated with an Inn down the road which did breakfast and we had a discount so not a major issue

The online thing we can complain about is a stuffy room where we couldn't open our window because of pigeons which were trying to get inside.

A later check out time would be preferable, however this is usually governed by serving rooms - so can’t complain really.

The bed was really comfortable and the size and space of the room was great and the Shower was great.

My fridge didn't work and the walls looked grubby. They could do with re decorating. Like most buildings with the summers getting hotter and hotter air conditioned is definitely needed.

The location is great! It’s right in the city center. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff is nice.

The building is really old. There were no elevators. Make sure you don’t have a room looking out on the street because the street is very busy. The curtains are very see through so you won’t be getting much sleep because of the early sunrise. I had a room looking out on the street and was woken up by the sun and the loud people outside.

Tricky but OK path to the room for travellers with bags, (Stairs and Doors), a bit of a challenge for oldies.

Poorly presented rooms, little ventilation so oppressively hot. Beds uncomfortable. Towels were old, small and one was frayed.

The hotel is in the centre of town and was very easy to find with parking nearby. The rates were reasonable and provided various room set ups which was great as three adults wanting to stay in the same room

The room was SO hot and airless. The hotel has clearly done their best and the room provided two fans which we had on constant but the heat was unbearable, especially after leaving the room and then re-entering. The room was listed as an apartment and we were grateful for the microwave and pots but the bathroom sink was too small to have washed the pots. I don't remember any cleaning products but there may have been some.

Rooms have recently been updated and were good, hallways are lacking. My r first room did not smell right, and the staff quickly responded to my concerns and moved me to a much better room

Location was good, rooms were neat and clean. The microwave in the room was a useful addition. The water pressure, amazingly, was *excellent*!

The room was hot and very noisy. I had a room at the front of the hotel and every time the front door slammed shut the room shuddered. Would highly recommend putting a soft-close on all the public doors. There was also a pub across the road blasting music until the early hours of the morning which meant I couldn't open the windows for some much needed ventilation. The bed was quite uncomfortable. Overall, not recommended for light sleepers, or in summer at all.

Room was clean, amenities were good. Service people were very helpful. Location was excellent for Gloucester Cathedral (3 Choirs festival). The beds were very comfortable.

Room location (room 21 and then room 1) was poor as was VERY noisy outside. There was scrap plastic sheeting and bottles outside of the RH window in room 21 (I removed by climbing out of the window and collecting the rubbish). Only the RH window could be opened a small way so, given the heatwave in Gloucester, the room was permanently hot. There was a building space outside the RH window in room 1 that was filled with pigeon droppings and debris. Not great! Both room windows could be opened so the room was reasonably cool. LH window had to be shut at night to keep out the noise.

The bed was so uncomfortable, very uneven mattress.

Nobody said it was opposite a church ..who were bell ringing.. also the door to the bar downstairs literally bangs so hard when it shuts it felt like our bed moved....and it did it a lot

Staff in hotel were friendly and welcoming and extremely helpful. I did however feel that closer supervision from a member of the management team would have raised the overall standard. In twin room we were each given only 1 towel. In most hotels we are given a bath towel AND a hand towel.My towel had holes in it and tears across the bottom edge.and was obviously several years d and thin.

There was very little storage space. No shelves or drawers for keeping belongings. Only 1 chair and 1 bedside table. We noticed the front entrance to the hotel was very untidy and is obviously not I specter regularly in order to maintain standards. On Wednesday morning there were a lot of feathers in the entrance (birds fighting? cat cstching a bird)? When we left on Friday, it still hunt been cleared away.This gives a poor first impression.

We where expected to pay 100 deposit on arrival staff where very unhelpful and wouldnt listen to the fact we didnt have it we where told if we cancelled the refund would take 3-5 days which didnt help with finding somewhere else to stay the night and we had to borrow deposit which hasnt been returned

Appreciate this is not the hotels fault and the bar area is air conditioned unfortunately the rooms arent - the room was incredibly hot due the temperatures we are currently experiencing and the fan supplied wasn't sufficient No hesitation recommending the accommodation in normal weather conditions

The location was great, the property was clean and quiet.

The base in the shower is a hazard. The person I was travelling with fell and could have had a nasty injury because the area became slippery once soap gets to it. I tried to work the tv but couldn't get it to work.

Property can but towels were tired & thread bare. Staff were pleasant & very central!!

The staff at Harvey's was great and helped with her local knowledge of locations. The Check-in was smooth and friendly. The hotel city centre location was excellent and 10min walk to train station and bus terminals.

The room and the corridors were very hot during the heatwave.

The mirror in room 6 is suspicious. I wish I had the forethought on the first day to properly check it and not right before I checked out

Paper thin walls, we were told to stop talking in our room as it disturbed other guests. The staff were pretty unhelpful and didn't seem to care about helping guests. We were told we could leave our bags as we were arriving before check in, reception wasn't open at 12pm and so our bags were shoved to the side of the bar in full view of patrons. Would not stay here again.
