Extremely efficient, very clean and informal. Very interesting common areas.
Nothing
Our room was spacious, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchenette available for guests is a great idea; we used it a few times. Our host, Karen, was very friendly and helpful.
We had no issues.
Das Haus ist außergewöhnlich, Sehr interessante Aufteilung. Das im Hotel zugebuchte Frühstück war super.
Lovely welcome, we'll equipped and clean hotel. Couldn't ask for more.
Nothing.
Great Room . Loved it
Nothing
Good location with on site parking, and nice personal touches - great breakfast.
No sign of advertised bar.
Fantastic location, lovely, helpful staff . The room was comfortable and spotless. I would highly recommend the Edward Hoel and Gloucester was a beautiful town to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would revisit
Nothing much.
Location was great one straight road into town which was only a ten minute walk, nice to have free parking at the back of the property so close to town
Hotel was clean everyone was welcoming. I stayed there as my daughter was in hospital near by and they could not have done any more for me. I didn't feel alone as the spoke and checked I was ok every day. Highly recommend this hotel, top class service by lovely people.
Nothing yo not like.
It locati, and the facilities were excellent. The owner was most obliging.
Parking was a little tight but was available.
This hotel was beautiful.. The location is amazing. We had a lovely 2night stay & the breakfast was perfect 👌
Comfortable feel safe
Everything was fine
Excellent hotel. Easy access for station and town centre. Comfortable and good value. Thank you.
A lovely room, with the bonus of having a fridge and microwave to use, Kitchen facilities with extra condiments provided if needed. .
Hotel has old world charm, delightful staff and excellent breakfasts.
Breakfast was good, welcome was good, close to the city. Pub nearby
Was told parking was free but limited, not as bad as we were told.
Comfortable bed, spacious room, clean room & bathroom, tea/coffee facility, a good size table fan, nice window and road view, free parking available, staff were very friendly and they allowed us to park for few hours even after checking out. Breakfast was available at cheaper price, but we did not take it. We enjoyed watching TV (youtube and free movies on Rakuten channel). The hotel was just 5-7 mins walk from city centre, 15 mins walk from cathedral and dockyard. This hotel is really nice & secure for a few day/night stay in Gloucester.

Location. Well-equipped room. Interesting features/info/ decor/history/Gloucester facts etc. Very helpful owner. Good breakfasts.
Nothing! (except no space in car park on second of 3 nights).
Plenty of good advice about visiting the Cathedral and other places of interest, and on local restaurants. Free parking at the hotel which was a bonus.
Innenstadt gut erreichbar.
Comfortable bed , decent shower
Toilet didn't flush properly, window wouldn't close
Quite close to central Gloucester and on bus.route to Cheltenham. Spacious room with fridge, microwave and coffee making facilities. Good breakfast available
The TV suffered connection problems.
Check in was excellent, The rooms were well equipped to enjoy your stay. Bkfs was well done and tasty.
Lovely hosts! Strongly recommend it!!!
All was good
Personal, Lage
My room had a large comfortable bed. Large screen tv. Mini fridge and microwave with additional kitchen facilities available. Paid extra for breakfast which was very good. All in all a good stay in quite a busy hotel with lots of guests coming and going.
The hotel is on a relatively busy main road into central Gloucester. Although there is double glazing first night Saturday I was aware of traffic noise into early hours. There are steep steps to top floor which may be issue for people with mobility issues although of course they could ask for ground floor accommodation
I liked the quirkiness of it and learnt that it was originally three houses and changed to a hotel. It was clean and comfortable. It has its own car park which was really useful and its location was perfect for our needs. I loved the little basket found outside the door with clean towels and top ups of tea and coffee. Great idea.
Nothing. It was exceptionally hot when we stayed but there was a fan provided.
I can't recommend the Edward highly enough. An excellent place to stay in all respects: friendly and welcoming, well situated, comfortable plus a nice garden. The breakfasts are great, facilities are good and there is a really nice ambiance about the place.
Good location. Great shower, simple to use and powerful!
Bed a bit uncomfortable. Pillows very uncomfortable.
This hotel has a lovely atmosphere, lots of photos and information about Gloucester, many stair cases linking different parts of the hotel. the rooms are functional and comfy with tea/coffee making equipment, fridge and microwave. There are also shared kitchens with everything you might need. Staff are super friendly and very helpful. There's a small garden for al fresco eating or chilling.
Too many stairs for me ;-(
Bed very comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful
Ubicació. Personal molt amable.
Very comfortable, staff great, couldn't do enough for you, a nice basket of new towels & coffee/tea supplies left outside room
Although the hotel itself was comfortable & quiet unfortunately we were on the busy road front which was very noisy, quietened down for a few hours through the night before ramping up again
Everything booked last year and this year and will be booking it again next perfect beautiful hotel
Location was very good
Staff were lovely. Thank you for being so kind
Nothing. Everything was fab
Had a lovely stay at the Edward Hotel, location was great for our needs, only a short walk to town centre and Quays. Host were lovely, breakfast was good too. Car park at back of property was big so plenty of room. Room was clean and tidy and everything you would need
a really well designed hotel, little touches about Gloucester mixed with very practical room layout and unbelievably helpful staff. Best hotel at this price
it is about 20 minutes walk into the town centre - not too far for most but you may want to drive
Stanza grande e confortevole
La cittá
It catered for our family needs and the owners were friendly and took an interest in us. It was a short walk to shops and walking distance to dock area and restaurants. Parking onsite at rear of hotel.
Not the best area of town and our double room was a bit small although there are larger rooms available to book.
Very clean and close to where I was working.
The decor is a bit dated but the place is spotless and the beds comfortable.
The owners were very welcoming, the single room was very light, airy and well equipped, unlike many single rooms in other joteld I have stayed in, and the breakfast was excellrnt.
I liked everything.
Lovely people and great hotel
Nothing
Location, easy walk to town centre. Although it is an old building and you could hear steps from upstairs ( and I was expecting to hear much more) everyone was very respectful so no disturbance accrued during our stay. Beautiful interior, lots of pictures and history on the walls, coffee and kettle in the room, nice and quiet garden. Good size bed, comfortable as well. Ventilator was available in the room but not needed as it wasn't very hot.
Lovely hotel with nice facilities like a fridge, microwave and a lovely garden
As the building is a historic building, it does creak in some places during the night
What did I like? Everything really. Room was spacious, very clean, quiet and well above all expectations. The bed was also marvellously comfortable. We had originally booked on line without contacting the hotel directly but being disabled, I then rang the hotel to request that a parking slot be reserved. The owners very kindly put my mind at rest regarding this -but also suggested that a GF room would be better for me as opposed to the room I had originally and inadvertently booked, (Stairs)!! So I really felt that there was a personal, family touch and that our stay was important. The owners are incredibly helpful and can offer advice (and directions) as to the best places to eat as well as local attractions. We were here for evensong and the cathedral itself is well worth a visit. We went for the lighter breakfast although a traditional full English was also available along with tea/coffee/juice/etc. In the dining area, the walls are tastefully covered with numerous pictures depicting people with a connection to the name Edward -I think! See how many you can spot if/when you stay. There is also a lovely, small garden area where guests can sit and relax and the hotel lends itself well to individuals/couples/families and guests staying for business or pleasure. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return very soon.
The road works (!!) -although this is hardly the hotel's fault.
The owner was friendly and helpful and the accomodation comfortable.
Facilities are fairly basic but clean and functional.
Location is ideal close to city centre.
Comfortable and very tidy room has everything you need.
Very clean, comfortable roomy property, staff were excellent & very helpful
Breakfasts were mediocre to average. Bar was not open during the duration of our stay, and did not appear to be stocked.
Very friendly staff good hospitality...Fantastic money value for 2 rooms , one with 2 single beds and one with extra king size ... Nice surprise with good mattress quality...
Non
Cooked Breakfast was good. Edwards is within easy walking distance of Gloucester City centre and the Dock/Quay area.
It’s proximity to central Gloucester.
The room location felt a bit too secluded.
Location , cleanliness, quiet
Nothing
Lovely hotel , very clean and tidy staff pleasant and good amenities, all sites and attractions in Gloucester very walkable distance, would we stay there again, most definitely.
Location, bed, breakfast, carpark.
Shower was very poor. No power.
The location was great
Simple, clean and well located. Helpful owner with ideas of local interest for us.
Simple breakfast could have included option of fruit /yoghurt as well as just cereal and toast, though there was an extended continental option.
Breakfast was basic but good value. Noisy road but a fan was provided so could keep the windows closed. Friendly staff.
A lot of roadworks going on so be aware that the walk from the station takes a little longer than usual.
Location to the rugby stadium
The parking was a bit scarce,
Lovely location and setting for this hotel, despite it being on a main road it was quiet. Owner very friendly and helpful.
Room slightly dated but perfectly comfortable.
I really enjoyed my stay. Although the property is a little old-fashioned, it was very clean, comfortable, and excellent value for money for a short stay. The owner/manager was extremely friendly and helpful, providing great recommendations for local attractions and places to visit. It's an ideal base for exploring the Cotswolds. The property also has a convenient car park at the rear, which was very useful as we were travelling by car. Our room was spacious and well equipped, with both a microwave and a fridge, which meant we could enjoy our evening meals in the room. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay.
The only downside to our stay was that we happened to visit during an exceptional UK heatwave. Our room received the afternoon sun, so it became extremely hot—almost like a sauna. The property had thoughtfully provided a fan, which certainly helped, but the temperatures were so high that the room didn't really cool down until the middle of the night, making it difficult to sleep. This isn't a criticism of the property, as there was very little that could have been done given the unusually hot weather. Under normal conditions, I don't think this would be an issue at all.
Clean, good location for university.
No fan in the room. It’s was to hot to sleep
The room was tiny but enough for one person, and it was very quiet. There was a fridge and a microwave that I have not chance to use. However, these additional appliances could be much appreciated. I liked a lot personal approach and kindness of the personnel.
The breakfast could be better: jam in plastic container does not give good impression.
Etc
Free parking and service with a smile 😊 The King size bed was a blessing in the heat!
Nothing
The location was excellent for getting into the city, and with free parking was a great base. The room was a good size, with fridge included, plus usual kettle and tea making facilities. The shower was powerful, with large towels provided. The staff were friendly and helpful. A fan was provided, necessary as this was a very hot week. The hotel was quiet even though it is situated on a main road into town.
It suited our needs on this trip. No negatives.
Location, friendly staff and cleanliness.
Had to catch an early morning flight from Bristol so booked taxi to pick us up at 2.00am. Unfortunately at that time of the night we could only leave the hotel through the back door and had to make our way to the pick up point in total darkness through the garden and car park.
Quiet, homely, friendly and clean
If you want a very modern impersonal hotel this is not for you
Great location..great room, quirky building..amazing comfortable bed and good value for money..added bonus free parking
..nothing really, yes bit dated but very clean
Great location for the hospital with free parking.
Excellent location. Value for money. Nice screens.
Set check out time to at least 12 pm.
Very clean hotel, very close to town center. great carpark. Very friendly and helpfull staff.

Just arrived home after our 5 night stay The hotel is faultless It exceeded what I expected Clean and comfortable bed Nice breakfast Location excellent Everything you need is provided I will definitely be going back
Proprietor is a lovely guy who is a trained City Guide and has excellent knowledge about Gloucester and a passion for the city's history. He also a good cook and the whole atmosphere is of a quiet and well-run place.

friendly, very good breakfast. Fridge in room and access to kitchen to cook.

We got a free upgrade which made our stay even better!
We had asked for room suitablefor someone with mobility problems, this was not passed on to the hotel and we were allocated room on 4th floor with no lift. They immediately altered us to a room on lower floor which was much better We could walk into city from the hotel which was very nice especially as roadworks on way in which was causing delays. Staff really friendly.
Well appointed rooms and a friendly welcome
I had a noisy neighbour. I appreciate having a fridge is a bonus but the whirring was annoying at times.
Room was spotless the bonus of having a kettle and microwave in the room also free parking around back of hotel
Nothing
The staff were friendly and very helpful - we asked for an early check in and that was happily provided. The room and bed were comfortable and the breakfast was very good. The location is great - quick from the motorway and a 10 minute walk to the centre.
My only small criticism would me that the water pressure in the shower is very low - this might just be an issue upper floors though
Location, cleanliness, parking, staff, room
Nothing
Just back from 2 nights at Edwards Hotel and very pleased. We had a King room at the front, it was very quiet and with a comfortable bed, we had 2 good nights sleep. All rooms are ensuite with a fridge and microwave, plus the use of a kitchen. Above all, it is very clean. The owners provide everything required for an excellent stay. They are also very knowledgeable and informative of the area providing a town map with several pubs and restaurants listed. Breakfast is available and is highly rated. There is also a nice local pub serving food within 100m. Safe, hidden, free car park is a boon. The Cathedral and town is a 10 minute walk or a No 10 bus. We enjoyed our stay and will use again as our base when visiting the area.
This is the first hotel I have stayed in for years that has pillows with substance instead of sad, flat experiences. The room was scrupulously clean. Not even dust under the mattress. The bed itself was firm and comfortable. The shower was okay. There was a microwave and small fridge in the room. The hotel does have a 1990s feel and it’s an odd labyrinth of combined buildings. However I like a place with some character. It didn’t especially bother me that the hotel was not pretending to be ‘boutique’ or aspiring to be beige.
There is not great sound isolation between rooms. The rooms are not air conditioned, so you’re subject to the heat of summer.
Location really good. Within easy walk of city centre. Was given a very comfortable room on the ground floor, instead of original booking on 2nd floor. Excellent facility of having a fridge and microwave in the room. Breakfast excellent.
No complaint.
Fantastic hotel & lovely owners.
The hotel is on walking distant of the city centre. Very helpful management with good ideas for sightseeing places and restaurants. Clean place!
Grande chambre, bien équipée.
Salle de bain un peu vieillotte.
The staff at Edward hotel are very friendly and welcoming. I had no issue approaching them with any issues or questions. They were very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The TV worked great and the microwave is a nice addition. The windows opened and closed with no issues. The toilet and sink also worked how they should. The room was an adequate size, the light and plug location was great.
The shower did have a couple of issues. The shower head leaked which caused a small puddle of water on the bathroom floor. The shower head holder was installed too high on the wall, so the shower head didn't properly fit. I was on the bottom floor which meant a guest was in the room above. I could hear every step, every phone conversation and even every whistle.

We stayed at The Edward as we were in town for an Army Reunion, and the RAF v Army Rugby at Kingsholm. It was everything we needed, and at the right price. Overall the Hotel was perhaps a little dated in places, with a hint of old school seaside guesthouse, but for us that added to the warm atmosphere. The Staff were great - friendly and helpful. The location was bang on. For us it was easy walking distance for everything in the City Centre, but far enough out to be quiet at night. The room was comfy and spacious. Clean and tidy, and with all the bits and pieces you'd expect. The USB charging ports in the double sockets in the room were a very welcome addition. Breakfast was excellent. My litmus test is always dipping sausage in the egg yolk, and this passed with flying colours. Freshly cooked to order, no buffet, and proper sausages - none of your deep fried tubes of grey paste. Also, the tomato was properly cooked all the way through, and the mushrooms were fresh, not tinned. You don't see this attention to detail at this price point very often. Well done, and thank you! It just needed a wee slice of black pudding to finish it off, otherwise perfect! All in all it was a good stay, worth every penny. We'll be back.
