The breakfast was incredible and the staff attentive. The room was clean and spacious. It is a big hotel but we didn't feel unattended in any moment. Tge location is also pretty good and within walking distance to the Bean and other touristic places.
It was imposible to sleep at night because of the nonstop noise from the hallway and other rooms. We were in the 23rd floor so the noise didn't come from outside the hotel. The insulation was pretty bad.
Close proximity to most of our plans
The drain in the shower was drained slow which was frustrating

Location. We walked almost everywhere we visited during our stay. Room was on the 18th floor and quiet, great view of the city.
The $25/day room credit could only be used for such a short time frame each day.

Nice hotel great location with lots of good amenities and friendly staff
All was goos
The location is convenient to shopping and downtown sites. The room was comfortable enough and the view was good.
The hotel is hectic not at all relaxing. At check in I felt like I was checking into boot camp and not a hotel with instructions being barked at me. Its a huge hotel but no spa, no hot tubs, no pool, etc. The staff seemed too busy to offer much customer service. At one point I was harassed and threatened by another guest. There is too much chaos to provide even basic security. I would not recommend.
I didn’t like the breakfast buffet
The location was great, very centered and accessible.
I couldn't wait for this survey to come soon enough. The hotel is very nice at a nice location. What I didn't appreciate was the STAFF. You should invest in customer service classes and maybe have a few incognito reviewer around the hotel specially the front desk. 1. Check in took WAY TOO LONG. I even observed this when i had to go back to the desk on my second day. And after standing there for what it seems to be an eternity, you have to carry your water to the room. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the "free" water but is the last thing i want to do when i have a back pack and rolling a bag. i felt for parents who had small children who juggled the waters and the toddlers. I had to cut my trip short so i wanted to see if i could get a night refunded. The person who tended to me simply said no, didn't look into my account, didn't ask questions and simply said or come back here at 8am to see if you can talk to a manager. you can prob figure out all that's wrong with this interaction. While I waited there, Im watching another front desk employee pick at their teeth, not once, but twice!! wow, i couldn't believe it. Oh and don't let me forget about the person who tended to me the first night, super rude. When i asked regarding why they needed a credit card she tapped her finger on the desk at the very small sign that's glued to the desk explaining the $100 dollar charge per night and whatever other charges and holds. Again unprofessional. What if I needed my glasses to see, or English is a second language, or you just miss it? Like does it cost so much to verbally reply to my question? Then, I opted for my room to be clean daily, why are the attendants yelling and knocking on doors at 7:30am? I think you should invest on small door hangers that say "do not disturb" or better, eleckey locks, the ones that alert the staff when you leave the room.

I was fortunate to have a great view of the lake, my room was perfect
The property itself was fine. The system of having to “pay double” for my room was a huge let down. I thought me booking a room a month prior would save me money. Sadly I was charged extra without the deposit money included which I honestly don’t think I’ll ever see. I’m sure you all would agree upon yourselves that it’s a “I’m broke problem” but not being able to know that sort of ruined my trip. But amazing property. I think it’s best if I just venture other hotels with more transparency.

Too expensive
Very friendly staff. Good buffet breakfast. Loved the layout of the room
The corridors in west building were freezing!
Good , clean and ideal location

I stayed one night at hotel because I went to the chosen Fews at Jackson Park. The nachos and wings were good at the hotel restaurant. They had a fridge no microwave. The bed was comfortable. I would stay again
The room was not clean I saw hair in bathroom floor and on table. I did inform the front desk she did offer me a new room. I was comfortable already in my room so I decline overall it was ok stay.
Location
Very bad room service and cleanliness
They were very accommodating and had great customer service, $25 food or drink credit. They have 3 restaurants in there.
The neighbors were annoying. We were playing music Saturday at like 5pm and “did a noise complaint” it was 5pm!
The staff was very professional
The cleaning staff could have been more attentive.
Si
The slippers and robes were not provided despite the high room rate. Also, the conditioning could not be freely adjusted even when the room was too warm, which was quite uncomfortable.
As one of the well-regarded hotel brands, Hyatt should consider providing basic amenities such as slippers and robes in the rooms for the convenience and comfort of its guests.
location, room, bed, fitness cetner
noisy lobby, too many TVs
Nice hotel, room...would have liked to have gotten "discount" card at the point of check-in. There was a card on the dresser in the room but it was face down and we didn't see it at first.
Was not sure what the "resort fee" per night was for???? $35 per night seemed excessive on top of the room price. Was there a way to have declined if I didn't use any of the facilities??? If so, this option was not presented at the time of booking.
Hotel is too big for us.

Charley gave us 5 star service upon checking in! He made sure our stay was also great the whole time that we were there! Breakfast buffet was incredible!
My second year at this property for Lollapalooza and it only got better. I can see that this property is a top choice for conventions. It provided us top notch service at very fair price.
We stayed at Chicago Hyatt Regency for one night while we were in the city for an event. I'm very glad we did. This Hyatt became my favorite hotel in Chicago. We were treated extremely well. We had access to the Club Lounge and it had a nice view. I will definitely be back! Thank you Hyatt staff.

Location. Spacious suite with a great view!
Busy in the restaurants. No pool.
I can’t say enough about the Hyatt Regency Chicago. The location was ideal, right near the river walk, walkable to Millennium Park, Navy Pier, Magnificent Mile - perfect spot. As a globalist I was really pleased - there is a nice regency club but in addition we received free breakfast at the restaurant in the lobby which had a terrific buffet with many choices. Staff were consistently friendly and attentive. We were upgraded to a view of the river which I appreciated since the hotel was packed that weekend for an ABA conference. The staff was really helpful ahead of time when a flight cancellation pushed our trip back a day. We also received a 4pm late checkout which was offered to us at check-in. (Yes, I know I’m entitled to it but it was nice to receive it up front with a smile instead of on the last day with some hesitation or uncertainty.). Because of the $25 food credit after 5pm we gave the lobby restaurant a try one night and really enjoyed it - in particular my son loved the brisket. The valet was easy - just make sure you understand how to get up and down to lower east Wacker because your GPS will get confused. Hotel gym was great and was big enough to get a good workout in on a busy Saturday mid-morning. I also liked the lobby a lot - big and open and bright, with a good buzz. I would love to come back here again.
Location and room are perfect
the shower could release more water
Will book Hyatt Regency again if we are going to Lollapalooza 2027. Very happy with our stay and its location. Very friendly and helpful staff everywhere, at the front desk, customer services, cleaning staff, the club lounge, and waitpersons at American Craft Kitchen.
The Hyatt Regency Chicago and its entire team are FANTASTIC. The team goes all out to truly care for their guests and ensure their utmost happiness and satisfaction. Smiles all around--from bellmen, front desk, maintenance pros, housekeepers, servers, all. And the hotel is modern, well-maintained, and in a great location. I thank them all for my wonderful experience.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The venue was clean and close to tourist experiences. This is one of my favorite places to stay!
The hotel was very clean, the room was comfortable, and the location was excellent for exploring downtown Chicago, the views from the hotel were beautiful. Overall, I had a great stay and would definitely come back.
The only downside was that the few times we ordered food, it took a long time to arrive. Other than that, everything was excellent.
Having been to Chicago many times for business, this was our first stay at the Hyatt Regency for a short vacation. The location is perfect to access all of the Magnificant Mile in an easy walk. The hotel was incredibly busy with a large convention and Lallapooloza but you'd never know it from the highly efficient staff in every aspect of the hotel. Our room was spotless with an amazing view of Lake Michigan. The Regency Club was the perfect place for early morning coffee or a quiet cocktail at the end of the day. Every staff member was pleasant & helpful despite how crazy busy it was. Will defintely make this our go to location in Chicago!
My wife and I stayed there so it would be more convenient to see the Ben Folds/Grant Park Orchestra at Prizker. Very convenient location for events and restaurants in the area. The front desk people were fun to talk with! Very comfortable room with king bed.
we decided to go here instead of the black stone because it has a better location. we got there after our check in started. we had booked 2 rooms next to each other in the same tower. they had 1 room available when we got there in a different tower to the one we booked. the other room we had to wait an hour and half for in a different tower. we purposefully chose room together and they weren’t helpful. this wasn’t a last minute booking, we booked months ago. they wouldn’t offer an upgrade or any discount. over $500 per room per day this is ridiculous. we stayed previously at a hotel in ohio and it had the same showers and quality of room as a much cheaper hotel. moreover, if you check out early or late it’s a charge but for no reason they can make make us wait however long. go to the black stone or hilton just not here.
Location is best if you want to stay at Chicago Riverwalk.
Microwave in room/floor would have been good.
Bed and pillows extremely comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful and all staff were very courteous.
No room service after 12. purchased overcooked hotdog and cold chicken from marketplace.
Don't fall for the regency club upgrade its so not worth it. Where someone says you can make a meal is such an exaggeration. Its a charcuterie tray with one hot app and one dessert that if you dont get there when they put it out you don't get it. If you ask them to fill the drink that is out they act annoyed.
On one word: this hotel was “meh.” The attentive but inconsistent hospitality depended on who you were talking to. It ranged anywhere from rude to extremely helpful. As for the hotel itself, it is HUGE. And, as such, complicated to navigate. And not because of the lack of signage; but because of the multiple signs and colors and etc. Think: “NY Street parking sign jumbo” in the form of hotel directions. Bartenders don’t make good cocktails, but food and market staff were extremely pleasant. Ideal location in Chicago. Just be prepared for the traffic.
Our stay was very disappointing due to the extremely poor housekeeping service. We booked a room for three guests, with one king-size bed and one sofa bed. Every single day, housekeeping made the king-size bed but completely neglected the sofa bed. It was consistently left messy, with the sheets tangled and the blanket simply thrown on top, as if it had been completely ignored. When a hotel sells a room for three guests, it is expected that all sleeping areas are properly cleaned and made up. This is not an extra request—it is a basic standard of hospitality, especially for a Hyatt Regency property. It is unacceptable to pay for accommodations for three people and receive housekeeping service that only takes care of two. This level of attention to detail falls far below what we expected from the Hyatt brand. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst housekeeping experiences we have ever had, and it significantly affected our overall stay.
Very nice hotel. Good on-site amenities and meeting spaces. Large place, takes some navigating to find your way around.
No in-room dining and no menus in the room to order takeout from hotel restaurants. Very inconvenient for business travel on a hectic schedule.
Nice hotel, Staff was kind and check in was easy. Only Con was the Mobile App needs work, other Hotels have much better Mobile App options.
what can I say good about this place? the employees are helpful and gracious. but The cost cutting in the rooms is obvious—no real closets, no real ceramic cups in the rooms, the bathrobes we had to ask for and then look like an old sweat shirt. The lobby must be at 100db all the time. no way to talk. The Internet fails constantly, and I can’t seem to make a phone call from the lower floors.

We had a wonderful experience, got the bed and breakfast package. We loved our breakfast; plenty of variety each day on the buffet. Hotel is in within walking distance of American Writers Museum and Art Institute plus Riverwalk.
Couldn't ask for a better experience. The employees were extremely accommodating and helpful and very willing to assist with anything needed. Location was great and the people were amazing! Look forward to the next stay for sure!!!!
Great property and great location! Short walk to nearly everything. We always try to stay here when we visit Chicago. Our room had an awesome view of the river, Chicago Tribune, Wrigley building etc... The staff at this Hyatt property are very friendly and hospitable. Special thanks to Raymond and Sebastian at the front desk, and Arturo at the valet. Only thing missing is a pool! Can't wait for our next stay.
Used as base for exploring river area. The river area and the walk are all well worth the visit as was the rest of the down town, magnificent mile experience. A little noisy, but not unexpected for a city full of life at all hours.
My husband and I really enjoyed our weekend at the Hyatt regency Chicago. Room was relaxing with a nice view of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. The hotel was grand and vibrant with nice restaurants. Staff was very polite and very accommodating from check in to check out
I tend to really enjoy Hyatt properties, and this stay certainly did not disappoint! Even as the largest Hyatt in the world, they haven't fallen short on top-notch hospitality. From the start, check-in was a breeze thanks to a friendly and welcoming front desk agent. He was super friendly and welcoming. My room was spotlessly clean, and I really appreciated the updated, modern decor. For a hotel of this massive scale, it was the thoughtful details that truly impressed me, like how surprisingly fast the elevators arrived every single time I stepped out of my room. There were great bars and restaurants within the hotel as well. The location in the heart of the city is unmatched; I was able to walk to pretty much everything I wanted to see, so zero complaints there. I loved my time here and look forward to staying again!
A friend and I recently spent 5 nights at the Hyatt Regency Chicago for a fun girls trip. The location was awesome and provided easy access to the Riverwalk and many different sites, parks, museums, etc. The nearest Metra train was about 2 blocks and the Ventra (metro) was just a bit further. All the staff we encountered was pleasant and helpful and food at the Market and American Craft restaurant were excellent for hotel dining. The Market was open very late which was good if you were returning from a long day. I would not hesitate to stay here again when visiting Chicago.
That it was downtown close to the River walk.
From when I was there a few years ago, it has degraded. Unfortunately too many unconcerned black ppl. And I’m black. Young ppl all over the place, jumping on the elevator scared the BeJesus out of me!!! I will never return. The guest was comfortable, very clean and was up high. And I smelled cigarette smoke!!!! A huge negative for me!!
The Hyatt is a beautiful hotel that's located across from the Riverwalk. It's located within walking distance to many of the attractions. The only complaint I have is regarding the bed. The mattress was so soft. Too soft for my back.

Excellent hotel with outstanding location in the very heart of Chicago! Outstanding club lounge perks! Great customer service! One of the best hotel for staycation!
Great stay again in 2026 for a night. The club amenities have been downgraded since March so disappointment with one hot food item at night. They used to have a soup and hot food. Dessert not brought out until like 8 pm. Used to be out at opening 530. Room awesome with fab view. Location is the best.
great location across street from Riverwalk. a bit smoky due to the Canada wildfires but not in anyone's control. Room was perfect size with a sitting area and nice television. not one bit of noise during the evening. will return
Me and my wife stayed in the hotel - room 3203- for our wedding annivesary from 7-16 to 7-19-2026. After driving ovr 12 hours from Washigton DC we drove into the chotic hotel entrance and parked our car only to check in, put our bags in th room and return back to move our car to a pre booked garage nearby. It was around 7PM on the 16th of July. There was abolutely no proper order at the Valet or entrance. It was chaotic. We returned after about 20 minutes and tried to drive our car out . The place waa very busy and we we exemely caustious when backing up as so many cars re behind us. All of a sudden a well dressed man in a light colored suit ( an African American person, if I may) and treated us very rudely. he was shouting at us as if we were comitting a cardinal sin. My wife was totally shaken up the way he was shouting at us , like chop chop, put the gear into Drive and fo very loud and rudely. I am sure he was some type of a supervisor or a manager from the Valed company. I have been a senior manager with many luxury hotels in DC like Starwood, Hilton and Kimpton and has never seen such rude behavior from a Valet. This gentlemn need to be educated that he is in the " Hospitality Business" and that guests like us make sure he has job only becuae of guests like us. Had it been in washington DC, this guy would be immediately fired. Now about the hotel. Despite our request for an anniversary visit for a good room, we were given just a mediorcre room facing a bunch of ugly building. Not even a glass of shampaign even though we paid a prenmium price for 3 nights. The drain opner in the bathroom tub was broken and lying on the side. At the check out, the cerk gave me an incorrect bill , about $ 75 more than the correct amount. After pointing out the error she gave us a reduced bill. Wonder ho wmany hudndreds of unsuspecting guets get overcharged like this. Shame! The only reason we opted for this hotel was the " pet free" thing. Will never ever stay with Hyatt Regency again. The Valet need to be educated to offer some basic curtesy to paying guest without who he and the hotel staff will have no jobs. On the plus side, HK and Check in staff were gret.
I’ve stayed in many large cities and I think this is the quietest room I’ve ever stayed in. We were only on the 8th floor, but facing a side street, so maybe that helped, but I heard no street noise in the night and slept great. The room was spacious for Chicago and very clean and seemed newly remodeled. my only complaint about this hotel is that you have to go up the escalator to find the front desk to check in, which is a little confusing at first and that there is no Diet Coke in the market. They only have Pepsi, which I think is crazy.

Always a great stay at the Hyatt Chicago Regency. Restaurant choices, store with generous hours and inventory and a Club level are all amenities I have enjoyed at this Hyatt several times over the past few years. Even if my plans center around driving an hour into the suburbs all week, I still make plans and stay at the Hyatt Regency Chicago location because it is worth it.
Wonderful hotel! The staff was great and the restaurant and bar were great as well. Whenever I visit Chicago this is my favorite hotel. The location is the absolute BEST!

Great location, large river suite with great view, comfortable bed
Bathroom is small and toilet kept making a loud banging noise when you sit on it. Needs more closet space.
We just wrapped up a stay at the Hyatt Regency Chicago that completely blew us away! From the moment we checked into the Millennium Suite, we knew this trip was going to be something special. The Room & Design The suite is absolutely massive and beautifully appointed, but what really stands out is how thoughtfully and intentionally everything is decorated. Someone clearly took the time to curate the space so that every single piece wasn't just pretty to look at, but functionally aesthetic. From the clever, flattering lighting in the bathroom to the sophisticated design touches scattered all over the property, the attention to detail is unmatched. And waking up in that suite? The views are everything. Dining, Sports & Atmosphere The hotel footprint is huge in the best way possible, offering three or four different bar areas that make it a fantastic, lively spot to grab a drink, socialize, and catch a sports game on the screens. For dining, the options are seamless—there is a great marketplace right inside the hotel for quick bites and essentials, which is conveniently connected to Stetsons, their modern steak and sushi restaurant. We also ordered the breakfast skillet during our stay, and it was delicious—way better than we even expected! Location & A Major Pro Tip You literally cannot beat this prime location. You are within easy walking distance of the best restaurants, the Chicago River and Riverwalk, Navy Pier, and major public transportation. Pro Tip: The hotel is connected directly to the Pedway, Chicago’s underground walking tunnel system! We were able to take an easy, climate-controlled stroll through the Pedway to completely bypass the street traffic and avoid the hot, humid weather outside. It is an absolute game-changer for getting around the city comfortably. We came from the Blue line. You could literally, fly into O'Hare, walk onto the Blue line (a CTA train) get off onto the pedway and walk to the hotel. No car needed! Final Verdict The staff was great from check-in to checkout, elevating an already top-tier experience. This stay exceeded our expectations across the board, and we are definitely coming back here for a Bears game! Highly recommend!
Only had 3 towls, when 4 guest were in the room. Did not make bed let alone change sheets on first night.
Having to continuously ask for 4th towl.
My room was very nice and clean
No cups or coffee and no microwave
My daughter, her BF, my MIL, and I all stayed in a Regency Club level room for 2 nights. Simply put, we could not have been more pleased with our stay. To give some context, 2 of us have mobility issues. I was looking for a hotel with a central location and comfortable spaces for us to rest when the walking got to be too much. This is part of why I chose to upgrade to the Regency Club level. This turned out to be a great decision! The Club included the following: *A VERY GOOD daily breakfast buffet + coffee for all of us at American Craft Kitchen, *Access to a cooler with bottled water, juice, and canned pop + hot coffee and tea at the Club (available whenever the lounge was open); *A daily evening reception with light appetizers; *A very reasonable cash bar in the evenings ($5 beer + wine, $6 cocktails) *A daily $25 credit to use at the hotel restaurants. (I never used this benefit.) Our room was also very comfortable, stylish, and clean. It was in the west tower on the 22nd floor and had an amazing view of the river leading out to Lake Michigan. Every single employee we interacted with was friendly and seemed to enjoy his/her job. Being that I'm in the hospitablity industry myself, this really impressed me! Thank you for an amazing stay.

Atmosphere: 4.5/5 — Lively, modern, and energetic with an impressive atrium lobby. Rooms: 4.5/5 — Clean, comfortable, and updated. Try to snag a room with a river view! Value: 4/5 — Great, fair pricing for a prime downtown Chicago location. Cleanliness: 5/5 — Spotless throughout, from the rooms to the public spaces. Noise Level: 4/5 — Surprisingly quiet and well-insulated for a bustling city-center hotel. Service: 4.5/5 — Efficient check-in and highly attentive, friendly staff. Amenities: 4.5/5 — Excellent on-site dining options and a fantastic, modern fitness center. The Verdict: A fantastic, reliable, and perfectly situated stay for any Chicago trip. Highly recommended!
Room was clean, check-in was easy and the food was pretty good at The Big Bar. Everything else was a disappointment from the controlled AC, construction, lengthy walk to my room, off putting drinks and crazy long check-out line. I just wasn’t impressed with this hotel stay.
Amplitud de las habitaciones.
Demasiado masivo pero igual entretenido. Exquisito el restaurante asiático.
Está muy viejo el hotel
Great location. Comfortable room. Nice upgrade to a higher floor.
Hotel was really busy due to two large conventions.
Location
Haven't gotten my final receipt yet
Location was great as you can walk the river promenade, so was the young lady (Jain?) at the reception. There seems to be a lot of useful stuff like a scale for suitcases, airline ticket printed. Fortunately a hotel employee got the great idea to accompany people through service elevators as the hotel was packed and there was a long line for elevators.
Impossible to get a seat at the bar. When I could, I had to wait at least 30 minutes to get the waiter attention although I was at the bar directly! Top shelf margarita at $21 was all sugar and disgusting (could not drink it). Ordered a naan and humid and after 40 minutes waiting for it, I left… Waiter was not really a joy a deal with… some people need to change jobs. Cleaning in the bedroom could be more thorough. There were some smudges on the desk from other people that weren’t cleaned.
Concierge was amazing
Absolutely NOTHING! I LOVED EVERYTHING
Everything. So clean. Updated. Great view.

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
8.2/10Generally reported as clean (multiple guests: 'Very Clean', daily housekeeping), but notable negative incident(s) — a room not cleaned for two days and towel shortfalls — reduce the score slightly.
Service
9/10Multiple mentions of excellent, professional and courteous staff; some isolated negative interactions (rude room-service attendant, mixed helpfulness at times) but overall service is a strength.
Location
9.7/10Repeatedly praised as ideal/central/riverfront and perfect for events (marathon), very convenient to main attractions — consistently a top positive.
Room Quality
8.1/10Rooms are well appointed and comfortable for many guests, but recurring issues: some found beds too soft, occasional slow drain and a mediocre shower experience.
Amenities
7.9/10Good on-site features (breakfast, dining, car rental on-site) but several guests noted missing in-room items (no bottled water, no bathrobe/slippers) and limited room service at times.
Value for Money
7.6/10Frequent comments that rooms are expensive for the experience; some guests felt the price did not fully match expectations (especially during high-demand events).
Food and Beverage
9.6/10Breakfast and on-site dining received strong praise ('delicious', enjoyed American Craft Kitchen & Bar); only minor complaints about tipping policies.
Overall Experience
8.7/10Most reviews are positive — enjoyable stays, great location and good service — tempered by occasional housekeeping/amenity/value issues.
