Location, location, location! Staff iwas excellent (even tho housekeeping spoke little English, she was great), slept like a baby, totally enjoyed the pool, the specials at the cafe were delicious (the chicken sandwich n fries-thumbs up to the chef) . SO many choices of where to hang out without leaving this “resort”. Will definitely return!
I can’t think of a thing!
Location and staff
Room didn’t match up to the picture.
Location
That gave us a disable room all the water from the shower ran out all over the bathroom. They didn’t make up the rooom. The staff that received us on the evening we arrived was very rude and angry. We didn’t have a nice experience so sad cause we are Marriott users.
The location is great—very close to the riverwalk. Free beer was offered when we checked in.
The staff at the luggage storage room were not very friendly. One of them explicitly pressured us to give tips but did not help retrieve our luggage. The attitude is not great. Also, the room we were given had view of the river but the window was really dirty.
You can’t beat the location. It is right on the river and in the heart of everything in Chicago.
The room was kind of dated and pretty small. We only had a view of the roof and you could hear the people’s voices next door through the vent which was pretty annoying late at night.
Location, location, location … the property was centrally located and the grounds were beautiful.
The self parking was $75 a DAY…. Plus we were charge a newly implement state fee of $30 per day which is costly on top of other fees. However, the special state fee offered some amenities such as free WiFi and complimentary access to 2 museums). The room was a bit shaggy and rundown, lots of dust buildup on the ac, that caused my allergies to act up. The bathroom tub faucet was broken and the pressure of the water caused it to be a projectile almost hurting my husband while he showered. For the amount of issues we had, the price wasn’t worth it.
The hotel, the convenience to everything the food.
Well, this is my issue. My bathroom sink started leaking water underneath on the floor. I put a bunch of towels on it. I went downstairs and I let them know in guest services. He told me somebody was coming right away, so we waited in the room for about an hour, nobody came so I went downstairs again and spoke to a young lady at the reservation desk and she said somebody would come up right away. And they did while we were gone when I came back the sink wasn’t leaking anymore. My issue is that they left all the wet towels everything under the sink to me that’s part of the cleaning up after you fix something so I was very disappointed in that and I was very disappointed. I had to go down there twice to get this taken care .
Breakfast was good. Just like everything else its very pricey
Added fees very dark parking garage and over priced
The staff!! Excellent customer service from every single member my family encountered!! And the location was central to many downtown activities.
The only thing was that the hotel gets so busy and filled that the elevators can take a while to stop for you.
Staff was friendly and great location
We requested room with riverside view… well you could not see a thing from these dirty windows ….and the beds were not queen size, they were full size
Nothing
Everything. Terrible service.
Location was great!
Breakfast was not included and was expensive
breakfast was great. Staff very friendly. food sumptuous!
the location is incredible, we had access to many things just walking.
just price because some event around
Very clean!staff was amazing!
Beds were small
Loved the location
I did not like the display of the room. My request was for a conjoining room, which was advertised online but was available once we arrived
Room was amazing for our family of five!!
A hot tub would be a great addition to the pool area
$39 breakfast buffet + $5 tax cost is not acceptable. Children are $20. I’m financially set and had a large wedding reception for my daughter some years ago .. but no more functions when my guests have to pay over the top for buffet breakfast. Shame on Marriott / Sheraton decision makers.
Friendly and courteous staff! Thank you for making our stay enjoyable! 👍
Location, and staff and surrounding area
Nothing
Hotel pas à la hauteur des étoiles mises. Petit déjeuner hors de prix (38€) pour être dans une salle très moche sans aucune vue. Nous sommes restés deux jours et la chambre n'a pas été faite malgré notre demande expresse.
Yes I'd love to tell you more when I book The stay. I upgraded to a double room due to the fact I was traveling with three people when I got to the property they set a double room meant two beds I said no on the paperwork here it says a double room that's why I upgraded they said sorry it's just too beds. I had deluxe double room. Can anybody tell me what was deluxe about this or what the upgrade was I surely would love to know..... I talked to the front desk they told me yeah that just means too beds. I asked them so what's my upgrade then they said they didn't know I also have contacted Marriott
It would have been a perfect day if I had the double room like I said on the paperwork
Convenience to everything. We walked to everything we wanted to see or eat.
Nothing
Location and staff
No bath robes, slippers, wall mounted make up mirrors, extra blankets. Our TV did not work. Had to call for help. Most outlets, charging stations did not work, furniture old and dated. Breakfast buffet was not good at all, most cooked items were not fresh, pasteties and bagels were really low quality, waffles were over done. No juices choice...
Got two adjoining rooms and third room on same floor-amazing view out the window looking down the river. Rooms were spacious and well equipped. Gym well equipped.
Nothing. Hotel a little dark and a little generic decor but clean and well equipped and loved the location. Close to everything but tucked away but the river so not a ton of external traffic right outside etc.
very nice staff and the view was excellent
The location was great, close to The magnificent mile for shopping and dinning.
All the accessories must be requested via the service desk: indoor slippers, shaver, cotton sticks. I booked 2 rooms, one of the rooms beds were not made for 2 of 5 days. We had feedback to the server desk for the first time but missed again for the 2nd time. This is not the service level the Sheraton I used to know in the past. I was very surprised and disappointed.
The location is great, but the poor check in process made for a very disappointing start to our stay.
I was very disappointed with my check in experience, especially for the amount I paid for 3 nights. For a hotel at this price point, I expected a much smoother experience. The check in time was at 4pm, but I waited almost two hours before receiving a room. I kept being told the delay was due to housekeeping, yet no room had even been assigned to us and no one could provide an estimated time for when it would be ready. I understand that hotels can experience unexpected delays, but the lack of communication was the most frustrating part. I was left waiting in the lobby with no clear updates while the hotel had already collected payment for our stay.
The rooms were very nice and staff very friendly!
Didn’t like the fact that the parking was so high, the internet was not free, and the hotel claimed they gave us $15 credit but it could only be used on certain things and was still going to be charged to your room, very disappointing!
Staff was great
Breakfast wasn’t good. The prices for everything in the hotel were high and not worth it.
Location to other businesses
No internet included, had to pay separate AFTER spending almost $400 on a room… not cool! Also one of my pillows had a blood stain on the corner…
Large comfortable rooms Great location Beautiful river views Nice pool
Extra tourist levies and additional daily fees Parking options were very dodgy
The location and view from the room.
We got a room with the door lock not working after several times going to the front door calling for assistance they figured the lock has some issues so we were waiting for a while to get into the room. And when we did get in we couldn’t get out so I asked to change the room as it was a safety issue if we can’t unlock from inside but they couldn’t give us a new room and had to repair the lock. The bathroom as not clean. The tub was not draining the toilet did not flush well. This was my 2 stay at this hotel I brought my friends as my last two visits were good but this time I am very disappointed.
The vew
The location was perfect and how it had everything I needed
I was freezing every time I had to go down to the lobby or in one of the meeting rooms
Falta room service 24h
What i was expected wasn't what I meant. Immediately I when to the receptionist to express myself. I didn't spent an hour to checkout of which am supposed to stayed for 2nights. I have to leave Immediately. He said he will still charge me. He over changed my credit card. It's a big slap on me. I will never recommend this particular location to anyone.
They over charged my credit card and I didn't even spent an hour before checking out
O quarto era ótimo; espaçoso bonito e com uma vista incrível! Banheiro bom, limpo, Localização excelente, staff amigável.
Very comfortable environment great location
Nothing everything was great and secure
Excellent location , staff extremely helpful and kind . We stayed here for 11 nights and it was a very comfortable stay.
Clean organize excellent
N\a
Great choice of breakfast and the menu changes daily so there is great variety and plenty healthy and kid friendly options. Amazing staff from bellboys, checkin attendants and cleaning staff- shoutout to Olena who made our room look pristine. Wonderful location with great views of the lake and Navy pier. Easy access to shops, restaurants and beaches. Good variety of food for room service.
The pool is on the small side for the hotel capacity but it has a great outdoor lounging area with great views. Internet could be faster too.
It’s a huge property with everything a world class hotel should have at a great location. Needless to say the management involved with this hotel is absolutely amazing and professional. Front desk staffs were very welcoming and supportive ensuring a wonderful experience and the fastest check in/out. Breakfast arrangements were one of the finest we experienced so far and breakfast staffs were just outstanding. They were extremely helpful, smiling and respectful . Room size was good with comfortable bed and pillows. The river view from the hotel room was spectacular.
The room should have a microwave and carpet shoes with bathrobe.
The location is great.
I had a reservation for 1 double queen bedroom with accessibility since one of the guest had mobility restrictions. At the time of check in we were told that there was no accessible room available even though we had a previous confirmation that the accessible room would be available for our stay. I would not recommend the hotel specifically if you have a guest with mobility restrictions.
The view was breathtaking
The tub was very small and pricing of parking was $75 and they posted sign says they’re not responsible for anything happening to our cars.
Great location, very nice facilities
Inadequate onsite parking. Had to park in a nearby Parking facility. A bit of a scramble getting in and out with a lot of luggage. Aided greatly by a good bell service. The limited onsite parking was not clear at initial booking
Great location
Location Excellent!
I recommend this property. The location was great, with being along the river walk. The atmosphere was positive and pleasant. The room was spacious and clean with a great view, which is why I booked it. The value was fair. Noise level throughout the hotel was great for a property this size. The staff was friendly and helpful. The amenities were disappointing. The bar area was expensive even by Chicago standards. Better off leaving the hotel. Vodka (rail) and tonic for $24.00 is over priced by many standards. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast restaurant. My son went and didn’t ask the price - it’s a buffet. The cost was $42.00 without a tip. I do not recommend eating there, unless this is reasonable in your estimation.
Location is amazing.
Everything was very clean and staff was for the most part nice. Housekeeping was a little eager to clean our room on the day of checkout and knocked twice before 10am to see if we were leaving yet.
The room/floor was not quiet at all. The neighbors were EXTREMELY loud all thru the night and woke up my infant numerous times from there yelling and kids were running up and down the hallways all weekend! Also the elevator wait times were pretty ridiculous expecially out to the parking garage.
Location
Did not receive the room I booked
la ubicación excelente
que no se podía fumar
Hotel is in a great location. Very nice window view.
Breakfast buffet is way too expensive. Bar area needs upgraded
Location was great. Close to Many things. Check in and out was quick and painless.
Shower would not drain. Went to the desk twice to get it fixed but nothing changed. Breakfast was expensive at $38 per person for buffet.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk during the GFOA Conference. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a perfect location for both the conference and sightseeing. We especially want to recognize N. Edwards at the front desk. She was warm, friendly, attentive, and provided outstanding customer service from the moment we checked in. She truly made us feel welcome and is a great asset to your hotel. We hope her excellent service is recognized by her management. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable, we look forward to returning! Michael & Susan Full
Location and the bellmen were excellent. Besides the front desk, most employees were nice and willing to help.
Reservation screw ups, unwilling to accept the responsibility for their error Worst pillows of any hotel that I have stayed. You could feel the springs in the bed. Severely lacking in dining choices means if you want a casual dinner without spending $$$, you have to leave the hotel property.
Kadesch who was folding towels in the women's locker room by the pool was super kind and helpful.
All the add on fees
The location on the river was amazing! Everything we wanted to see and do was close and walkable!! Rooms were clean and comfortable
The location is great, hotel needs to be updated. In
We had a big concern, there were mutiple dried blood stains and other stains on all of the sheets inboth beds. I personally asked housekeeping for all new, clean sheets and linens and it was never done, very disappointing and not acceptable.
Amazing location.
nothing
I would never, ever book at that place again.Because they forces you to pay for a meal.Voucher that you do not want
Good value for a great location
Close to everything
Clean
Location
They charged me extra for the breakfast. On the bookings it said breakfast is on the house. We were 4 people and on site they told us its only for 2 although its not mentioned anywhere on the booking. I had booked for 4 so I expected breakfast for 4. They took the security deposit and still have not paid back. Yesterday called them and said will look into and asking intricately and giving such an answer that it seems like a very difficult thing to return me my security deposit.
Right on the river! Clean and not too outdated. Breakfast was phenomenal!!!
Our room didn’t have a plug for charger for phone. Had to go get a plug in box.
Such a great location on the Riverwalk! The hotel said it was fully booked but we never felt crowded. Elevators were quick, property was clean, and the room had great views of the river. We had a family room which was spacious for 2 adults and 2 kids. Walkable to so many restaurants and activities. Plan to stay here on our next trip back to Chicago.
Co III of use some sprucing up.
Location and customer service very good.
We stayed here for two nights and I was impressed with this hotel. Our room was spacious and did have a mini refrigerator. I read another review that said they did not have a refrigerator and I thought that was odd. So I am happy to report there is a refrigerator . The only real problem with the room is that the toilet is so low to the ground it seems like it was installed for a kindergarten class. Many seniors may have trouble with this low seat. This is a beautiful hotel with a lot of space. The lobby is large, the bar is large, and the exercise room is large. The hotel is on the Chicago River and easy to identify when you are walking the streets trying to find your way. The location is perfect for walking to the miracle mile, Navy Pier, or the river walk. There is a breakfast buffet on a lower level but it is quite pricey. Next to it is a small market with Starbucks, yogurt parfaits, breakfast sandwiches, etc. There is decent sized pool on level 7 with nice views of the river below. I really liked this place and next time I come to Chicago I hope I can stay here.
It was incredibly well kept and the location was perfect. It wasn’t too close to the busy downtown area but close enough we still got to experience it all within a couple blocks.
It was very expensive even for the quality.
Connie in the concierge lounge was the absolute best! So dedicated to making sure the space was in pristine shape, as well as making sure all individuals had everything they could possibly need to be comfortable. This is by far the best service we have ever received in a concierge lounge thus far. Thank you Connie for making our stay here fantastic!
The location being right in the city and walking distance was great.
The room was a bit dated. There was no hooks in the bathroom to hang our robs or clean cloths for after you shower. There was a dingy retractable cloths line along the curtain rod to hang your wet towels and suites but deemed pointless. We didn’t request housekeeping and upon return to our room they had indeed been in our room. The shower took a VERY long time to drain leaving you standing in dirty water. The over flow feature in the tub wasn’t working, thank god I was paying attention or it would have over flown and flooded the bathroom. The cherry on top was while packing I lifted the blankets to make sure we didn’t forget anything or lost a sock while sleeping the sun proved there was MOLD threw out the ENTIRE throw blanket!!!!! We slept two nights under what we thought was a clean bed. We took a video and at check out showed the gentleman at the service desk and he proceeded to tell us that it’s not mold it’s just the down feathers have changed colors and that happens after so many washes. He was going to let housekeeping know so they can take it out of circulation. As someone that has down pillows AND blankets at home I’m POSITIVE this was mold but he just kept saying it was the feathers. He then proceeded to tell me he would take $25 off my bill for the bedding and give us an extra $25 off for inconvenience and $15 for unused food credits. We left as we had other things to attend to. I had gotten an updated copy of the receipt and was only given $25 off. THIS STAY COST ME OVER $1200 FOR 2 NIGHTS!!!!! They add a $30 per day destination fee PLUS and extra 1.5% fee for TID. Didn’t get that email tell 3 days before our trip( too late to cancel without fees). $75 dollars a day for parking your not guaranteed will be available each time you leave? Don’t let the beautiful exterior fool you. This hotel is a waste of money and a health hazard.
The location is great because it's near many attractions. Be careful with your belongings. If you are in a conference room, don't leave ANYTHING sitting in it of any value. My purse was stolen while my company took a break and I was offered points for "multiple free nights" as the value of my purse and the items in it were over $1,000. We don't realize how much we've paid over years of buying things until it's all suddenly just gone. I was upgraded for one night to a Presidential Suite. I took the upgrade to leave the room I was in because I trusted no one and wanted to make sure no one could find my room. They already had my house keys, address from my Driver's License and I live close enough to Chicago that it wasn't impossible they could come to my home after knowing what medications and everything I took. At least I left my car keys at home! I had the locks changed on my house to make sure the key couldn't be used. I've been trying to talk to someone about the ridiculous number of points I was given for "future stays" and they are sending me to phones that have full VMs, to lose prevention (they would have been useful BEFORE my person was taken from a random who walked in off the street and stole it) and I had to get a photo of the person who stole my belongings to get action from their security and loss prevention. I made a police report and went to the store my cards were used at and gave it to them so they could actually have something to go off. Every single contact I had while I was staying at the hotel is blatantly ignoring/ghosting me. I am ashamed and appalled. I have asked for the GM multiple times and I do not believe the GMs of a major hotel chain would have full VMs all the time. They will continue to pass the buck and blow me off.

7.2/10Multiple guests reported rooms and public areas not being adequately cleaned (hair and debris in bathrooms, garbage in hallways, rooms not serviced during a staff strike) — cleanliness is below the hotel’s overall standard.
Service
7/10Several reports of slow or unhelpful service (long check-in/out, rude behaviour at checkout, staff shortages during evenings/strike); some staff praised elsewhere, but service is inconsistent.
Location
10/10Consistently praised (excellent Riverwalk location, central, close to main street and event routes) — location is a clear strong point.
Room Quality
7/10Mixed comments: some exceptional views but several complaints about small/uncomfortable beds, dated rooms and heating/ventilation issues — room quality is average to slightly below expectation.
Amenities
9/10Fitness center noted as better than average and the property has strong amenities overall, though on-site breakfast facilities and size of dining area were criticized.
Value for Money
6.6/10Multiple guests described the hotel as overpriced and one reported billing issues; perceived value is below the expected level for the price.
Food and Beverage
7.2/10Breakfast received mixed feedback — some praise for breakfast quality, but complaints about limited variety (bagels), cold or poorly prepared eggs and lack of dining conveniences; F&B is somewhat inconsistent.
Overall Experience
9.2/10Overall a mixed but leaning-positive experience driven by excellent location and views; however, service inconsistencies, cleanliness and value issues tempered stays for several guests.
