Nice to have a good pillow selection.
Almost everything. This is a 2.5 star hotel on a 5 star site with 5 star prices. Poor value proposition.
The location was wonderful! Close to everything.
emplacement, piscine
la climatisation beaucoup trop froide nous avons éviter le restaurant à cause du froid des lieux
Ate at the restaurant in the lobby. got charged $150 for an apetizer, burger and 2 drinks. Parking was $98 per night.
Posizione eccellente, struttura molto bella.
Attesa eccessiva agli ascensori. Parcheggio troppo caro. Ho dovuto scrivere 4 mail per avere rimborso di un pagamento registrato sulla mia carta dopo il checkout
Location is great but that’s about the sum of positives.
The room on the 5th floor was super small and most importantly there was no hot water in the shower. Very disappointing stay at this location. I checked out and the front desk attendant was very unhelpful when I needed to use the restroom before going to the airport.
It is so convenient to everything in downtown Chicago. The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful and the property is always clean.
I can’t think of one thing. It’s the only hotel I ever stay at when I’m in town.
Location
$160 for a nights stay but $88 for parking also very large room with two small full beds that where uncomfortable
New decorated suite rooms very nice! Very clean, housekeeping staff helpful, Great location for families Lovely pool
Bed-sofa rock hard…like a floor! Hard to pull out too. Booked two rooms to be close together , got three floors apart…disappointed! Rooms was not available at check in time, no apology given. Elevators time waits long at times, multiple elevators full, so we (and others)took the back stairs that were available, dirty and unkempt and not clearly labelled.
Comfortable stay, excellent and attentive staff
Great pool, large comfortable room
The cleanliness and size of the room were great. The location of the hotel is ideal for many of the tourist spots in the city. There is also a train station not far from the hotel that I was able to take to different parts of the city.
My room was right on the main street (Michigan Ave) so it was very noisy.
Beautiful hotel, but the beds were not comfortable. In addition, my room lacked a desk. When I travel on business like this most recent trip, I need a desk!
This is a wonderful hotel in Chicago. The location is perfect, the workout area/pool are amazing, and the staff is great. I will definitely return the next time I want to stay in the City!
For the most part a great stay. The bed is comfortable. The rooms are comfortable and have character. The staff are nice. The water pressure in the shower was great. You can barely hear the outdoor city sounds from your room. Cons: the pillows have no volume. I believe they’re feather or alternative feather due to the season. The bedding felt a bit damp due to the humidity. Also,I had issues with the streaming apps on the smart TV is not working.
I am grateful for an overpriced room because otherwise we would be sleeping at the airport. I am annoyed, however, by the little things. We ordered room service. When ordering, we answered the question: How many people are dining? Two! Yet they had one glass of ice water on the tray. We asked for medium well. The burger was definitely not that. Just little things......I hope today is better. On a positive note, the bed is comfortable and the room is fine. The room darkening shade is nice as my husband is still sleeping. (Written at 6:28 am)
We had a junior suite which was in the corner of the building, overlooking Michigan Avenue. The room was clean and very quiet. People at the reception, as well as the door man, were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Michigan Avenue is busy, and there is lots to do and see with a short walk in either direction. The only downside is that this is a very busy hotel for meetings. If you were on the elevator at the wrong time (lunch and when a meeting broke) you noticed it. Otherwise, there were no real delays. We certainly would stay here again.
I do not recommend this hotel. The customer service I experienced was inadequate, and my concerns regarding the condition of the room were not appropriately addressed. I checked into the hotel on 7-18-26 and had a late checkout scheduled for 1700 hours on 7-19-26. Upon entering my room, it was apparent that the air conditioning was not operating properly. The room was warm and lacked adequate air circulation. I immediately returned to the check-in desk and spoke with Christian. I requested to be moved to another room but was informed that no other rooms were available. I advised him that I would be leaving for a walk and dinner, and he stated that maintenance would respond. When I returned approximately 2.5 hours later, I went back to my room and found that the temperature had not changed. The room remained warm and had not improved. I again returned to the front desk and spoke with Christian, who again stated that maintenance would respond. Shortly afterward, an employee came to my room with a box fan. This appeared to be the only solution offered. I had opened the window because the outside air was cooler than the air inside the room. After the box fan was delivered, I returned downstairs and again spoke with Christian, asking whether a box fan was the intended solution. No additional remedy was offered. I was also staying at the property with other work employees who were in a different room and experienced similar temperature issues. I did not check out until approximately 1900 hours on 7-19-26. That morning, numerous guests were checking out, and the IHG website was accepting reservations for that same date. Despite this, I was never offered another room or any other reasonable remedy. Based on this experience, I would not stay at this property again and will likely avoid IHG properties in the future.
From valet, to the bell desk, to check with in Freddy, this was a wonderful experience! The hotel was clean, all staff were friendly and the room service was delicious!
Location, location, location. That’s the best part of this hotel. It was walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. Spacious king room with plenty of lighting, large bathroom with counter space for assorted toiletries, excellent high-pressure shower, many outlets for chargers, and a nice size desk. The multi- level gym was ok; most of the machines were treadmills. The virtual concierge was helpful but an actual concierge at the hotel would be much better! The cons are : an unremarkable old fashioned breakfast. I think the breakfast on the road at a Hampton Inn might be superior. Definitely skip the breakfast! The colors in our room were a drab grey and beige. No real place to hang out in the lobby. Not an awful place to stay but will not be returning. We booked here because of the heat, we thought we might need a pool, but the historic pool and surrounding lounge area weren’t so inviting.
Had to change rooms three times because HVAC either didn't work or had soaked the carpeting. Finally got a room that worked; no one from the hotel called the next day to see if it all worked out. No chair to sit on in room, but odd pieces of unusable furniture sticking out everyone. Phone wouldn't work. Found long hair on my bed. NO remote in the room; had to call to get one. Holes in the bathroom wall. Shower was good, but everything else is very dated and/or doesn't work.
The location was perfect and close to Navy Pier and the beaches. We stayed on the historic side and the room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The pool and weight rooms were clean and accommodating. The staff was friendly and helpful. Bonus is that there was a restaurant and Starbucks attached as well. Wonderful atmosphere overall.
Location was perfect to everything. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
My room did not have cold AC running. It took 2 days to get someone to come and fix it, which it was fix the night before checkout.
I came to the Interconti with my grandson. The swimming pool is great. Breakfast is awesome, varied and the waiters/waitresses are helpful and nice. The room is correct and the cleanng lady is so nice. The hotel is at walking distance to every important place to visit. The only drawback is to even at 35th level it is rather noisy (air-con and noise from the streets.till 11 or 12pm.
Location of the hotel is great in terms of proximity to the major tourist spots. Rooms are very spacious, especially the suites. they really need to do a better job keeping the pool clean; the day we went there were pieces of Styrofoam floating in the pool and clumps of hair lining the walls. It was very off putting and we did not go in. The exercise facility and sauna were great and breakfast was convenient as it opened early and offered both buffet and à la carte options.
We stayed at the IHG Chicago Magnificent Mile during a heat wave. Luckily, the central location makes it easy to see plenty without walking too far. A short walk takes you to the Navy Pier, the Riverwalk, and wonderful shopping. It is also close to the Grand St Chicago L, so you can reach anywhere downtown easily. The hotel also has two restaurants, a bar and an on-site Starbucks. There is a junior-Olympic size indoor pool in a lovely room. The full workout facility was not crowded when we were there. The room service was speedy and friendly (although incredibly expensive.) We enjoyed our visit and are already making plans to return.
Great location but we had to call the front desk several times about issues with our 1 bedroom suite. Water pressure in shower was terrible. They did fix by removing sediment in shower head. Had issues with cable on the tv. Engineer reset. Had issues with flickering bedside lamp.
We had two rooms at this hotel and I will say that the size and ammenities of each room varied greatly although they should have been the same. I would give this property 5 stars just for location! BUT I can’t give them 5 overall because there were a couple issues. First and foremost I had chances to interact with the front desk about 6 times for various things and not one time did I have anyone nice. The bell staff was so kind and awesome! But the staff at check in / front desk couldn’t have been ruder each time. Including a manager who saw me ask questions and had the employee inquire to her in front of me and she didn’t even glance or come over. Rarely do I experience staff like this at a hotel. The second prob with the hotel is it needs an update. We were on the 16th floor and not sure what other rooms looked like. They were clean and ok but for the price we paid I want high end. Also make sure to not pre pay for your room as that seemed to be the biggest thorn in my side the entire time. So while I loved the location as it is one of the best in Chicago they are failing their guests with their staff.
Lovely hotel in a great location. For a business hotel there were no usb sockets in our suite plus power outlets were very scarce. There was an over reliance on extension cables under the bed and behind the sofa, which was a bit concerning. Housekeeping was a hit or miss. Room not serviced etc. Would I stay again? Yes, but I would lower my expectations. Ambassador status was acknowledged, but meant nothing in reality.
The hotel is old and run down. Marginal rooms and marginal maid service.
This place is the worst. Don’t waste your money on your points. The first room smelled like smoke. They moved me and the air conditioning didn’t work and the toilet kept Running. Asked to move again the room smelled again. My luggage never made it up to the room when I checked in so I had to go down and ask where it was. Don’t bother.
Cleanliness and location
Everything was great. The only thing was I asked the front desk if I would be able to check in early, and if I couldn’t if I could just check my bags. The person at the desk checked me in early, but seemed irritated that I asked. I didn’t care if I was checked in or not I was just asking. But everything was great.
Booked thru Amex but hotel has not been what expected. Not a single upgrade of Amex travel was granted. Everything in the room was unplugged so needed to move furniture and stuff to have a lamp light at 3am Room is quite smaller than average .On a corner of a building is understandable there are some ducts but… cmon I would expect this to be a maintenance or storage room not a family room at a top hotel. And… no shampoo so be prepare to shower your hair with body wash.
Run down and overrated
Well situated
Absolutely Terrible Valet Service – Vehicle Damaged and Responsibility Denied I am extremely disappointed with the Metropolis valet service provided by Metropolis at the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile. My mother and I traveled all the way from New Jersey to Chicago to attend a family funeral after the passing of our uncle. The last thing we expected during such a difficult time was to have our vehicle damaged while entrusted to valet staff. When we arrived at the hotel, our vehicle was in excellent condition. There were no dents, scrapes, scratches, or damage of any kind. We handed our vehicle over to valet and waited while it was parked. The following morning, after checking out of the hotel, we experienced another red flag when the valet took an unusually long time to retrieve our vehicle. When the car finally arrived, we immediately noticed a fresh dent and yellow paint transfer between the front and rear passenger-side doors. The damage was obvious and had not been there before. We immediately reported the issue and requested to speak with the operating manager, Oscar J. Dominguez Medina, and did an incident report. We showed him the dent and the yellow paint that had clearly transferred onto our vehicle. Rather than investigating the matter, he immediately became dismissive and claimed there were no yellow bollards or yellow barriers in the garage that could have caused the damage. He also stated there were no cameras available to review the incident. This explanation made absolutely no sense. I personally walked through the parking garage afterward and saw numerous yellow barrier posts throughout the facility. Several of them even appeared damaged and partially lifted from the ground, suggesting they had been struck multiple times before. The yellow paint left on our vehicle matched exactly what you would expect from contact with one of these barriers. To make matters worse, Metropolis ultimately denied my mother's claim and insisted that the vehicle arrived with the damage already present. This is completely false. We drove the vehicle from New Jersey to Chicago ourselves and are very familiar with its condition. The car was clean, well-maintained, and free of dents or scrapes before it was handed over to valet. Instead of taking accountability, conducting a proper investigation, or treating customers with honesty and respect, Metropolis chose to deny responsibility despite the visible evidence. The entire experience felt dishonest, dismissive, and incredibly frustrating. If you value your vehicle, I strongly recommend avoiding this valet service. Entrusting your car to Metropolis may leave you dealing with vehicle damage, denied claims, and management unwilling to accept responsibility. Vehicle damaged. Claim denied. No accountability. Completely unacceptable.
The macedonian concierge staff was very helpful as he fixed us a taxi when two ubers refused to take us to the airport because we had too much luggage, otherwise we would most likely miss the plane.
The windows could not be closed tightly, I had to put a lot of toilet paper in the opening. After 12 days I had to write a letter to IHG to unlock the deposit.
localização, cafe da manha, conforto do quarto, limpeza.
We’ve stayed at this hotel before and had a good experience. Not this time around. I think we just got unlucky. We paid almost $900 a night for a room that smelled of cigarettes, had mold in the bathroom and had a view of a brick wall. The concierge was unable to give us a different room upon continued requests. Will not be staying at this hotel ever again.
Great location, quiet and clean room. I upgraded to the executive tower for more space and it worked well for our group of 4 (mom with three teen girls 15, 16, 18). It would have been perfect had the beds been queens instead of doubles. The location is perfect too - directly across the street from Nordstrom and within walking distance to several shops and restaurants. Service was friendly and helpful.
This is a beautiful hotel and our room in the Grand Tower was lovely. However, the real beautiful part of this hotel is the kindness and friendliness of the employees. I wish I had gotten everyone’s name but our maid went out of her way to get me mouthwash; Fredy, at the front desk was very personable and kind; and finally, as we left, we met Will, the doorman who was wonderful in helping us find our over and sent us off with a smile. Kudos to IHG for hiring such good people!
Amazing stay. Super-attentive staff. Great experience.
Poor customer service, unfriendly front staff, mildew smelling hallways, flying insects in the bathroom. Worst is that they tried to downgrade my already confirmed suite room.
Fabulous hotel. Great meeting facilities. Beautiful surroundings. Staff was always helpful. Was with the annual meeting of the National Academy of Arbitrators.
We had a lovely room on the 28th floor with 270 degree views of the city. Everything was comfortable Lots of windows! The downstairs is kind of a maze on several floors, so it was hard to get where I wanted to go among the meeting rooms, but the meeting rooms were very nice. AND the meals at the conference were excellent, which is a rarity with hotels. Great location, too! Overall, a very good experience
We had booked 3 nights and prepaid to stay this week. We were supposed to arrive at 9:30 pm on Monday night but due to storms, our flight was significantly delayed and we arrived to check in Tuesday morning at 6 am. We had been up all day and night and extremely exhausted only to be told they had given our pre paid rooms away the prior evening because we hadn’t called and notified them that we were delayed. My husband and I were both shocked and appalled when told we’d have to wait till at least noon for a room. We had to be at our meeting at noon so that wasn’t going to work for us. The staff member was completely quiet and made no apologies at all. We were just stunned honestly at the lack of care. We ended up sitting in the lobby trying to regroup and figure out what we needed to do to get a few hours of sleep prior to our meeting. After about 45 mins, he approached us and said he’d found us a room after all. Pretty appalling experience and the room ended up being shabby and tired. The bed and sleep was amazing though. Really unfortunate, we will never book there again. No one, staff or manager ever approached us with an apology or with any courtesy. Pretty much avoided us as much as they could. Avoid at all costs in my opinion. Way better options in the area.
Check in was smooth, Room was nice, Staff esp doormen were excellent, very helpful.
My room (No. 1269) was very uncomfortable. It had no desk and no desk chair. It was difficult to work on my laptop in that room. The desk consisted of a narrow ledge, and the seating was a small ottoman. The water pressure was weak, and the coffee set-up was just some poor coffee and powdered milk. How much extra would it cost to use the small cups of cream? Intercontinental should be ashamed to sell this room to a member of your frequent traveler club.
Everything from check in to check out was top quality. Staff was amazingly attentive and proactively met our needs. The property was beautiful, our room was immaculately clean and luxurious. Shower water pressure was perfect. Bedding was plush and comfortable. I did not have the opportunity to have breakfast but family who did had a great experience. My son enjoyed spending time relaxing in the pool. When I first booked I felt the price was a little steep, but changed my mind after check in. Worth every penny for the all-star service and accommodations
Literally zero complaints
This was my first time staying in Intercontinental Chicago and I am bringing my family. I used my ambassador free weekend certificate. Overall satisfied with the stay. Of note, I am also a Globalist so this review will have some comparison info. Welcome greetings- similar to Hyatt Globalist they acknowledge status and loyalty which was great. then they gave me the benefits of the stay and gave me 4 bottles of water. Benefits explained- they asked me which welcome amenity I wanted and I chose the breakfast voucher. (compared to Hyatt, it is similar but breakfast is for 4 people). Room upgrade benefit- upgraded to corner room with city view. Room was comfortable with enough space for a rolling bed if I wanted to add that. This was the guaranteed upgrade. (similar to Globalist). Had an issue with the shower but they fixed it immediately. Communication- they communicate well via text and are responsive. (similar to Globalist) Parking- expensive but we were at downtown chicago so I expected it. Had in and out privileges. (Unlike Globalist, if you made point reservations this can be free but for IHG, no such thing. ) Valet was readily available. Dining- We didn’t dine in Michael Jordan’s or their other restaurant because there are other restaurants around that you can choose from but these are convenient restaurants to go to if you don’t want to go out. Breakfast options included in the voucher can be alacarte or buffet but only for 2 guests. Location- easy access to public transportation or just walking to tourist spots. Late check-out benefit- 4pm, similar to Globalist Pool- this is one of my favorite features. Big indoor heated pool. Love this! Overall- I would stay here again. I wasn’t able to do the hotel walking tour because we were just there for a weekend but I will do that next time!!!
Perfect location, great security, clean room. Will, the doorman, created a welcoming, positive environment each day. Value is overpriced, but consistent with neighboring hotels. Expect ambulance sirens every 5-15 minutes but was quiet from 1-6 AM
The check-in process was efficient and friendly. The location can’t be beat. The room was clean and comfortable. Would recommend.
Great location. Executive tower rooms not fancy small bathrooms. Great staff
A grand hotel along Chicago's Magnificent Mile within easy reach of the city's main attractions. The hotel is housed in a historic building with an impressive lobby and distinctive architecture. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, though sirens at night, even on the upper floors, caused mild disturbance. The highlight is the tiled Junior Olympic-sized pool in the fitness centre. Overall, a great base for exploring Chicago.
My organization, the AGA, always books us at the Intercontinental. In previous years they covered my stay, but this year I was on my own. i still elected to stay at the IC because it represents a "Classic Chicago Hotel" with a perfect location and all the amenities you expect from a venue like this. Check-in and check-out were easy. The room was spacious with a real minibar. I totally enjoyed my visit.
Excellent convention class hotel. I have stayed here mulitple times before. Good sized room and currently up. to date features
Mattress was far too soft and I got up every morning with back pain
Great stay! Clean hotel. Very friendly, courteous and helpful staff. Nice, comfortable accommodations. Wonderful location within minutes of all the downtown sights. I have no complaints.
We come to Chicago every few months since our son is in college there, and we ALWAYS stay at the Intercontinental. The location is perfect- walkable to everything. The rooms are comfortable, clean and never disappoint. The overall atmosphere is quite luxurious, especially when you can snag a room with a view. If so, the views are unprecedented skyline views that make you feel amid the city. The price always very competitive (use the IHG app) and the service (Fredy at the front desk, Roberto in room service and Will who greets you on the curb) is incredible. They know us, treat us like family, and provide such a welcoming environment that I would never consider staying anywhere else. Check out the gorgeous amenities as well- the pool is historic but with a modern weight room and the in-room dining is excellent (try the peanut butter pie).
It is outrageous that an amenity fee is charged. It should be included in the nightly price. I was explained at checkout that it includes “access to the pool” and “internet” among other things. It’s not a cheap hotel, you would have thought that the pool or internet would be included anyway. I went for an event and did not use any hotel facilities. I really think it is unacceptable that try to sneak in extra costs at the last minute. If the rate was $30 more expensive I would not even care but this is like a restaurant that charges for the bread on the bill. The service at the bar / steakhouse is absolutely terrible, explained by the obvious fact that when gratuity included there is no reason to make an effort. I do not plan on coming back to this property or Intercontinental in the US again.
Great location. Staff was helpful.
I am a returning customer who last time had a suite and rented an event room for a celebration. So, I have been a good client. I checked in and the reception was cold and matter of fact. Insert your card, here's your key, are two double beds ok (i was not enthusiastic but he didn't appear to care). I got to the room with 2 dbl beds, no desk, no chair virtually impossible to work in. Paint was peeling from the ceiling. It had a door connecting to another room and I could hear every word they spoke. I'm really sorry her sister can't get a job and went back to live at her parent's home and I hope her mother gets over her symptoms of menopause (all discussed!!). The elevators had lights out over the doors so people were getting confused and anxious about getting on before the doors closed. The cleaner turned on my alarm which got me up at 6 am. Really! After cleaning they should check that they didn't accidentally change the alarm settings. They offered to change my room but for a short stay, after you've unpacked and have meetings to attend, it would have been too much of an inconvenience. I'll certainly recommend our organization not use this property in the future, I know I won't.
Impeccable service, great amenities, super location makes this hotel a great choice.
We had a lovely quick stay at the InterContinental, which is conveniently located and easily walkable to many sights along the river. The staff was warm and courteous, and both the hotel's common spaces and guest rooms were clean and comfortable. I particularly enjoyed the beautiful pool and sauna!
My recent stay was fantastic. I enjoyed both lunch and dinner Casa Chi, and the Michael Jordan Steak House. And the premier Michigan Avenue location is amazing.
The pool, location and the room was great! Our family enjoyed our stay.
Nothing
It was great to return to our downtown home. Director of the Front Office, Eva Shen as always, made sure we had the best experience possible. We come to this Hotel 5 or 6 times a year for work and pleasure and have been for decades. Eva always reaches out to make sure all is well before, during and after. On arrival, Will and Clive greet us at the door and make sure we get to where we have to be while were there. It's a beautiful hotel and if you visit. make sure you wander the halls the lower floors to see the restored "Medina Athletic Club" decor. We're already planning our next visit. Thank you to all of our InterContinental Family in the hotel and the restaurants.
Rooms were inconsistent across our party, despite booking the same type of room. For example, my room was very small and lacked a desk/chair to work. Also needed to plug my computer into a plug in the bathroom due to not enough plugs in the main room. Other team members had large rooms with a desk and chair. It was a bit frustrating for those of us who truly needed the space. Also, same rooms did not cool as well as others. While my room was fine, others complained that it was too warm.
KINDNESS OF STAFF, ROOM
I must say my stay the Intercontinental Magnificent Mile felt like the most average hotel stay. I could have stayed at an Embassy Suites and it would have been the same level. The lobby was lovely. But the room was not at all elevated in design, element, or amenities. When checking in I was not given any sort of run down of the hotel. Just where my room was. Guess I get to figure it out. I had a credit for one of the restaurants, Casa Chi that I finally had to just text the front desk and ask about because they restaurant was not open the same hours as posted (sign says open until 11 and they closed at 10). I did manage to get a very neat post dinner drink there, sake-auvignon or something like that. The only decent part of the stay was a very lovely doorman, Will. The only doorman who ACTUALLY helped us. Sadly is was as we were leaving. We had been in and out of vehicles our entire stay and other doormen ignored us. We had visited other hotels to use their spa, visit the bars or restaurants, and were helped in and out or cars, and they’d spin rotating doors for us. But not at the Intercontinental. I’ve stayed at an Intercontinental one other time at that was in Sydney so I had higher expectations. I will definitely not choose this for my next stay. It is not worth what they are charging. They probably just got to ramp the price because they are right on Michigan Ave. but we could heard cars basically street racing in the middle of the night the first night.
Stayed 4 nights at Executive King on 21st floor. 1. Location: This is portably best thing about the hotel. It's centered on tourist attractions, shopping, dining and by river. Easy to go in-and out. Appreciated the location very much. 2. Room: Our room was facing Tiburon tower, and can see clock tower too and got beautiful views of the city/river. Room was dated, especially bathroom was very old, bad flush toilets. Sheer shades (roman shades) were broken, so we couldn't use sheer. Only issue would be the noise. We were on other room first, with connecting door to suites. We were able to hear everything what they were talking about, and no privacy. So we asked to moved the room. I think they were doing renovations, from 8am we heard jackhammers next to us and it was VERY LOUD. If you were late morning person, or sleep in, ask the front desk to make sure there's no construction nearby. Housekeeping DID NOT refill my coffee paper cup or water everyday. 3. Dining: Casa Chi: Great mixture of Peruvian and Japanese. Everything we ordered were great. Worth the visit! Michael Jordan's Steak House: Surprisingly great. Didn't eat the steak but chicken was great, nicely done. 4. Service: Front desk, guest service were great. Very efficient and prompt. Doorman by the sidewalk was very friendly and add a charm. 5. Overall: Great hotel, couldn't do this much unless I was staying in this location. We were there for the conference and got a great rates, so no complains.
The room was well updated, daily refreshes of the room went smoothly and well done, hotel overall was classy, comfortable, clean, and well-kept for the most part. only complaint was the fan in the room was extremely loud and I heard from my other coworkers that all their room fans were also very loud.
The whole experience was amazing!! The room and bathroom were very clean, and the entire facility was well-kept. The gym was in good condition and featured excellent equipment, and the pool was well-maintained! Plus, there’s the location—it’s close to everything; I did all my sightseeing on foot.
Na
El desayuno, la ubicación y en la recepción es Sr Freddy, una maravilla lo atento y predispuesto
La falta de limpieza en las habitaciones , cucarachas por la falta de higiene
We only stayed one night but everything was great. The hotel is in great condition and staff is very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to enjoy the beautiful pool
88 dollars to park overnight is too expensive. I had to find parking somewhere else
Very convenient location and wonderful staff - they checked on us by text, and came quickly when the toilet clogged without reason. Location was quiet even though it was on Michigan St. - must be thick window glass! The beds were comfortable, the room was clean. We didn't have a "do not disturb" sign so we assumed no service unless we asked - incorrect! They come and make your beds unless you have the sign. I appreciated that, actually. I miss that service, which seems to have dropped off since COVID.
The water did not get hot enough half the time - this isn't really acceptable - this is an Intercontinental Hotel! I expect less from lesser hotels, but not this one. Also, though there were vacant rooms, we were put on the lowest possible floor without any sort of view- this happens with booking.com sometimes. If you want a view make sure you select it from the choices or book directly. My bad.
staff exceptionally helpful -everyone.
Room very small for 2 unrelated people. Small single armoire for closet, but iron, ironing board plus anything else that didnt fit in there but missing a safe. and nothing to sit on but the bed.
Went celebrate birthday with friends in Chicago. Hotel was packed because of college Big-Ten play and St. Patrick's Day but service was exemplary. No lines at check (the front desk personnel were friendly and efficient), the room was beautiful and well taken care of by in house staff - always clean and tidy and bed made up every day with clean sheets...food was fantastic, both in the bar area and in the breakfast restaurant up the winding staircase from the lobby. Beautiful buffet or by plated options for breakfast with welcoming servers and great service. I've stayed here before but this weekend it seemed magical. Highly recommend this hotel if you want to be on Michigan Avenue, an easy walk to shopping, attractions and the vibe of the city!
We came up for the Bears/Lions game and I picked this hotel specifically as bus stop for bus to stadium right across the street...Location was Perfect!
Nothing we did not like
The hotel is in a fantastic location for virtually anything you want to do. The staff were absolutely incredible and looked after us very well indeed and we would not hesitate to return or indeed recommend it to friends or family. We will definitely return 👍
Your doorman outside was so very helpful and outgoing. He knows his town plus really gets everyone to listen to him. When a vehicle pulls up he is right on it for us by opening doors even flagging down a cab for us. Uber pick ups were beyond frustrating to be picked up by the curb.
Amazing location, great service. Lizette is the sweetest and most hospitable there is in the business. The pool is absolutely wonderful. The steakhouse is perfection.
Nice hotel, everything is extra, parking, room snacks. I have stayed at nicer hotels for less money that include more amenities.
Location of this hotel meets my needs perfectly. Rooms are always nicely decorated, the hotel is immaculately clean, the noise level is never a concern and the visible but never overbearing security is comforting. I love love love the fact that there is a Starbucks accessible through the lobby, offering the full array of typical Starbucks products at their usual prices. The staff and the service at this Starbucks are plentiful and super efficient.
I am an IHG member and frontdesk Freddy hooked us up with a nice upgrade. Thank you sir! Made our family trip much more comfortable. Super clean spacious suite. Excellent location, Would stay again!
Perfect location for all things Chicago! Very quiet! Nice sized rooms! All the staff was friendly and engaging. Great price for all the Hotel has to offer. Both restaurants were excellent, too. I will stay here on my next visits to Chicago.
Our 'go to' hotel in Chicago. Great location, terrific rooms, best Food and Beverage outlets and the best service teams from A to Z and back again!!! From the doorman on arrival to checkin at the desk, to the bellmen's arrival with luggage to Michael Jordans Restaurant and Bar and Center Court was 5 Stars all the way. Thanks for a great weekend on Mag Mile!!!!
Amazing location, accommodations, and staff
Excellent location, great staff and service, and beautiful hotel. Slight hiccups - was not clear from website where to pick up and drop off valet - had to call while circling the hotel. In the dark, in attempt to turn on lights, accidentally hit the "do not disturb" button without knowing, thus missed a housekeeping visit one day. Other than these slight hiccups, the hotel was great.
Valet parking employees could be more professional and more respectful to the guests who spends $1,000 +++ for the stay.....
Shower water is too small! No Washlet in toilet. Clean and neat
Great location and value. Room was clean and spacious. Good restaurants in the hotel. Tons of shopping and restaurants in the area.
Our stay was amazing! We took a weekend girls trip and they accommodated us very well! Our doorman Clive helped us out so much as well leaving the hotel ! He was so nice and got us our ride to the airport! We will be back!
We decided to spend my best friend's birthday celebration in Chicago. We chose a few different hotels in which to spend the twelve day extravaganza. The InterContinental went the extra mile by assigning us a fabulous corner suite with killer close up views of all the major landmark buildings that most define the iconic Chicago architecture. Not only were we ensconced in luxurious surroundings, we were treated with a wonderful and generous celebratory offering. Many thanks to Nabil, Andrew, and Malcolm for making our visit so extraordinary! Know that we were blown away by your hospitality and the historical gravitas of the IC hard product in its present and former incarnations. During our three night stay, we enjoyed breakfast daily at Center Court, and enjoyed the wonderful tomahawk steak for dinner at Michael Jordan's Steakhouse. We enjoyed everything about our stay at the IC. The indoor pool and multi-level fitness center were fabulous; really not to be overlooked. Location wise, the IC ticked all the boxes. It was walking distance to all the major tourist, dining, and shopping venues. One couldn’t ask for better. Time just flew by. Why was Chicago off my radar for so long?
Check in was efficient and requested a late check out of 4pm which I was granted. The suite was super clean and for a large decent size. Amenities were great. Staff service was good in general . The reason it was not 5/5 review was due to the following three things 1 - The mattress would need to replaced in the not too distant future. 2 - Breakfast was very average. At a five star establishment I would expect a better selection and made to order items in addition to the buffet. For example some fried or poached eggs. Rather than over dried scrambled eggs sat on hot plate for ages . Pastry and fruit selection was dire. I’ve Had a better breakfast at Holiday Inns in Europe. 3- even with a do not disturb sign on the door housekeeping barged in at 10am wanting to clean the room and telling me I had checked out already. My expectations I guess were high and I was disappointed.
Wonderful staff , recognized our Diamond elite status.
Staff is excellent and the hotel is very clean. Located close to many attractions and the rooms have great views of the city
