The location is great and the cleanliness was superb. The staff was so friendly!
The air conditioning was bad. The room was stuffy and, even with the AC running, it never really got cool.
Centrally located and free parking. Staff was attentive and professional. Rooms were large.
Property was aged. Average at best
Very nice room with a great view. Comfortable bed and spacious. Friendly and helpful staff at front desk. Very nice location
Had to pay for parking at the hotel each day. No continental breakfast. Overpriced buffet breakfast at $22 per person (I couldn’t eat 5 dollars worth). Staff at bar was not friendly at all.
Staffmembers Leonia and Loretta were very warm and helpful, it was a pleasure to meet them. The breakfast buffet was superb and so were the menu options (e.g. chia pudding). My 4yo enjoyed the pool, which was serviceable though outdated. I heard from a front desk person that the pool is being removed later this year (2026).
Disappointed in the outdated condition of the room and hotel. Carpet stains, knicked up furniture, scratches and chips in bathroom, no ottoman to put feet up, no gift/sundry shop for snacks. Felt more like a budget hotel than a Hyatt.
The bar service, drinks, conversation and food were wonderful!! Rooms were clean and roomy. The location is excellent located across the street from amazing food and attached to the convention center.
This hotel needs to be renovated immediately. Nothing is majorly wrong but everything is run down and just not what I expected.
Very clean, sheets were amazing fantastic, room layout and view was fantastic. I also enjoyed a really nice piece of carrot cake and a delicious martini espresso.
Fantastic location. Hotel is in major need of an update. Restaurant staff was stretched thin and has limited hours of operation. Front desk staff was incredibly helpful and fun!
room was clean and comfortable.
Convenient to every place we wanted to go !
There was a place in the ceiling in our room that needed repaired . May have been water damage
Kathy at the front desk treated us like family. Acknowledged us every time she saw us. Very helpful.
The front desk representative Peter was very personable and welcoming.
Room was warm and I asked for a fan and they did not have one. My husband went to Walmart around 11 pm to get a fan for me. Thanks to him I had a great night of sleeping.
Our stay with family was great with very good food and drinks and an indoor pool for kids was perfect. Some items need repair or replacement but that was minimal.
Very friendly staff. They were very accommodating and we had a great time! They were all very helpful and went above and beyond.
Nothing
They won’t return phone calls or return payment or let me change dates. I have been trying since March!
Was charger extra money because I booked through a 3rd party
Was on the 12th floor during the heat wave in Kentucky. The AC did not work even after I was moved because they put me in the wrong room to start. Was told the AC was on one system and that they were slowly upgrading the building. Manager never contacted me after the complaint. I stayed for 3 nights and barely got any sleep because I couldn't even sleep with so much as a sheet on me. Was pretty upset. Better off staying at a Residence Inn.
The location was perfect
It was clean but when we went to bed we found that our sheet were disgusting we check out early
Great hotel. Very clean and central location to great food and awesome movie theater. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were very nice.
The staff were excellent. Hotel was dated and could use some updates. Great location for walking to local attractions.
Was on the 10 floor and the street noise was terrible loud cars all night long . No hair dryer in the room and the safe didn’t work .
Restaurant service was slow
Small gym but had the necessary equipment. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Inconsistent breakfast options. No available hotel food between 10a and 5p so doordash or walk around downtown.
Had to pay separate and daily for parking, rooms were outdated, too many events happening at one time made it feel too crowded.
As a follow up to my last review title Underwhelmed, Mike Curd - with a Hyatt.com email address - reached out to me to discuss my review. I emailed Mike over a week ago and there has been zero follow up. It seems this may be an automated response to bad reviews to imply that they care about your bad experiences when in actuality it is just done to make it appear as if they care. Even more disappointed now than I was at the time of my stay.
Bed was good
Old rooms. Need updating
Nothing great about the hotel. Felt pretty overused. Room was very dirty with marks all over the floor and walls. Just not a great Hyatt Regency.
We loved the location
It was extremely loud from the street, but also there was a block of at least two rooms across from us that were very noisy. And oddly enough, there was a young man that sat outside one of the rooms in a rolling chair ALL night1 meaning overnight. It didn’t feel safe- it made us wonder what was going on in the room. It was weird.
There are hotel stays you forget, and there are hotel stays that stick with you because of one person who genuinely cared. That’s when you go out of your way to actually write a review. For this stay, that person was Justin at the front desk. The room was clean and comfortable. Self-parking is available across the street for $12, and valet is $30 per night. But the real reason this stay stood out was the service. From the moment I arrived, Justin was everything you hope to find at a front desk and rarely do. He was warm without being over the top, professional without being cold, and helpful in a way that felt completely natural. He was upbeat, easy to talk to, and made every interaction feel smooth. What made him exceptional was not just his personality, but the confidence and consistency behind it. He answered questions clearly, handled details with care, picked up on things before you had to ask, and stayed composed whether the lobby was quiet or busy. That combination of genuine warmth, confidence, and steady professionalism is what separates good hospitality from great hospitality. Justin did not just meet the standard. He raised it. I sincerely hope his leadership team and corporate office recognize what they have in him. He is a true asset to this hotel, and someone with his instincts and character will go far in this industry. Guests notice people like Justin, and they come back because of them.
Hotel is extremely run down and old. In severe need of updating. It clearly hasn’t been taken care of in years. We were on 14th floor and the window in our room is about to fall out onto the street. Extremely noisy hotel!! Terrible rest! Everything is EXTREMELY old. Towels are very thin and worn, stains were on duvets in our room, bathroom is in horrible shape. Recommend avoid this hotel
The proximity to Rupp Arena can’t be beat!
I feel for the price it could use a refurbish of the rooms. The furniture is a little scratched up and just could use some freshening up. The pool was colder than we would have liked also.
Very friendly hospitality. Reservation desk can be very slow, but staff is helpful and friendly. We were very enthusiastically greeted by a tall fellow with cool glasses at the reservation desk. We can't remember his name, but he helped us several times during our week's stay. We dined a few times at the Blue Fire restaurant. Food was okay and expensive as is most hotel dining. One lady in particular stood out to us. Her name was Leonia. At one time the restaurant was extremely full and Leonia greeted everyone with a huge smile and was very courteous even though she must have been frantic with all the people (some of them quite rude). She never let the stress affect her at all which made our dining experience pleasurable.
Great place to stay when visiting the Rupp Arena. All the staff were amazing and our room was very clean and beds were awesome.
Terrible parking, you have to walk to get into the hotel, rooms need fixing, bathroom in poor condition and needs updating, noise level is very loud all night, hearing the traffic and ambulances, the room was 2 hot, had holes in the wall
Proximity to Rupp Arena, speed of elevator and the fact you had to use the key card to get to your floor.
Nothing
Great location, great staff!
It’s in need of some maintenance. Walls need repainting, carpet needs to be replaced. It needs some old.
Very comfortable rooms. Excellent service by Peter at the front desk and by the shuttle van drivers. Excellent location. Would visit again. Thank you.
The bathrooms
Great location and amenities
Parking
View from 16th floor was great. Valet parking was excellent
Very expensive for 1 night
Underwhelmed. I checked in after midnight, was given my room key only to find out after arriving at my 9th floor room with my bags that my room had not been cleaned. Had to lug everything back down to the lobby to get an actual clean room. They advertise a 24 hour gym on their website. It does not open until 5 am. If you want a treadmill, arrive before it opens. They only have 1 and it’s not going to last long. Felt like it was going to fall apart at any moment. If you value a clean room and a well equipped 24 hour gym stay somewhere else.

Great location downtown for our first time in Lexington! Friendly staff, comfortable bed, easy parking, great food and drinks, convenient to walk to other restaurants and things downtown.
Staff was amazing and sooooo accommodating!! Peter was especially incredible!! We will definitely be back to this location. We had 4 little children with us and they did everything to make it special for them. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The convenience of venues and restaurants in walking distance.
They put us in a handicap accessible room. Everything was low...light switches, towels, plugs. The counter space in the bathroom was so tiny. I wanting a full length sink. Price for the room was high due to keeneland.
Front desk was very welcoming during check in/out, daily room cleaning was excellent, great service provided by shuttle driver and his dad at the front desk. Wish I could have had a little later check out due to late flight.
Location , parking and on site restaurant/bar. Will definitely stay again when opportunity arises
The quality of the rooms Does NOT reflect the nightly rate of stay. So very disappointing for a Hyatt hotel. Broken bathroom fixtures. Visible damage to the walls, window treatments, the cabinet for clothing was damaged, it looked as if it were purchased at a second hand store. The Hilton next door, may be a letter option for quality.
I stay at many Hyatt's when I travel to conventions away from home. I hope to always stay at a Hyatt Regency. I always have a great experience. I have to say, the Lexington location struck me as a cut above the rest (which are already excellent.) If you dine there, ask to speak to Loretta. She runs the joint and she will make you feel like family.
Great hotel with a great staff. Breakfast buffet was wonderful. Front desk staff was extremely helpful and valet parking was efficient.
The location, it was connected directly to the convention center and Rupp Arena. The midnight crew was awesome. They took care of checking me in at 2AM. There was then an issue with the room, but it was handled professionally and within 2 minutes I was on my way to a different room, 10 out 10 recommend
N/A
Everything was spot on
Location and friendly staff
Breakfast was not included
Walking distance to arena
Ice machine and Vending 9n our floor didnt work.
The breakfast buffet was amazing. Location was perfect next door to comic con.
A bit costly to stay
we liked the venue was attached to the hotel and that there was a restaurant in the hotel
Bathroom sink backed up from toilet of next door room. Bio hazard. Dangerous. Disgusting.
The bed was great, the shower needed more pressure and since it was in a perfect location the cars and sirens were very loud, I would stay again though.
The outside noise and the shower.
We have stayed there before and we know this is an older hotel but having to wait in the lobby for 1.5 hours past check - in time, was ridiculous! We were told we were getting an upgrade as compensation, but I have seen them do this before and our room, after the wait, was actually a downgrade with old scarred/scratched furniture and ugly ceilings and walls.
The Hyatt is a great location to stay if you are going to an event at the Lexington Center! Very clean, comfortable and quite!
Really nice place great shower
We was 3hrs delayed getting in our room because house keeping
The hotel is located right next to the Rupp Arena and is very popular and busy due to its location. Unfortunately, it is also showing its age and is in need of a renovation. It’s fine for a quick stay, but don’t expect anything special.
Great stay, rooms were clean, staff was friendly and helpful and the food was great! Valet was exceptional. Young man was very considerate and extremely helpful to this senior handicapped couple! Will definitely return!
I cannot recommend this hotel. We chose the Hyatt Regency because it’s connected to Rupp Arena where we were attending a concert. Check-in time was 4 PM (concert started at 7:30 pm) and we arrived a couple minutes before 4. We entered the hotel and saw the entire lobby/bar area was full of people holding their luggage. When we reached the check-in desk, we were informed that our room wasn’t ready and they would text us as soon as it was. I asked if it would be more than an hour and the staff scoffed and said absolutely. At 5:45 pm, I asked about our room status and they said it still wasn’t ready. We noticed other guests who arrived after us getting upset with the staff and that resulted in them magically getting their room keys. After checking with the front desk, two more times, we were finally assigned our room at 6:30. The staff told us as compensation for the inconvenience they would give us breakfast vouchers. We were in a hurry to get to our room, shower, and dress for the concert so they said they would slide the vouchers under our door. No vouchers ever arrived. There are only three elevators in the lobby and after the concert, there was a VERY long wait. The rooms was in good condition and clean. It was hit and miss with the staff.
Attend the Sweet 16 boys basketball tournament each year. Enjoy the atmosphere and seeing basketball fans gather each year.
Convience of being able to walk to Rupp and not have to drive.
Night time traffic noise.
Loved that it was a quick walk to watch the basketball game.
Overpriced and rooms were outdated.
I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Lexington. It was a bit of a full-circle moment for me—the hotel opened when I was a student at UK back in the 1970s, so I’ve known it for a long time. The building is showing its age. That’s just reality. It’s a well-used facility, and it looks like one. But I also understand that—and I actually appreciate that Hyatt is putting significant money into a renovation. It’s needed, and it’s good to see they’re investing in the future of the property. What stood out to me, though, is what hasn’t changed. The customer service is still first-rate. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely helpful. That part of the experience felt consistent with what I remember—and frankly, it matters more than new carpet or updated fixtures. So yes, the facility is a bit worn right now. But the people are excellent, and that goes a long way. With the renovation ahead, I think this place will come back strong.
The room was dirty. I showered in the morning and pulled the curtain closed and there was a dirty wash cloth draped over the curtain rod that had a pinkish brown stains. I thought no one will be touching that so i let that bed. Until i pulled the sheets back to make the bed before we left for our competition and there was what looked like could be foundation spilled on the sheet you would lay on. I checked the other bed and there were pink sticky stains on the comforter. I notified the front desk. They said they would send someone right up. It took about 2 hr 45 minutes and having to interpret with my phone with the house keeper to get our sheets changed and room cleaned. The return cover for the AC was hanging off the wall and was VERY VERY dusty. The room wouldn’t get colder than 74 degrees. It was not the best stay and for the cost absolutely ridiculous how dirty the room was.
