The convince of downtown
The valet should have been included for the price and the parking lot was not a private lot. There needs to be ice box in the rooms and bags in the trash cans
Beautiful hotel, beautiful concept! Can't wait for the new restaurant to open, it will make the property that much better.
THE LOCATION WAS GREAT, AND THE STAFF.
THE MUSEUM WAS SMALLER THEN EXPECTED, THE BED WAS HARD, TRASH CANS HAD NO TRASH BAGS, THE SOAP IN THE SHOWER DIDNT WORK WHICH THEY WERE LOCKED IN SO ITS NOT SOMETHING WE COULD HAVE FIXED WITH OUT ASKING. THE PLUG IN ON ONE SIDE OF THE BED DIDNT WORK, NOTHING TO MAKE THE STAY AWFUL, BUT FOR THE PRICE I JUST EXPECTED MORE. I KNOW THE HOTEL IS UPDATED BUT SOME OF THE UPDATED LACKED.
Bell boys helpful
Dirty, small, parking horrible, room was disgusting, found cut finger nails on floor, other people hair in bed, bathroom mold growing everywhere, TV didn’t work right, art work for viewing horrible
A localização é muito boa , bem no centro da cidade.
Quarto muito pequeno, para uma família de 4 pessoas ( casal com 2 filhos ) o quarto quadruplo é muito pequeno. O frigobar era péssimo.
Do yourself a favor and read the reviews closely, because I did not. There are several recent comments about housekeeping issues and the condition of the hotel, and unfortunately, they were accurate. This hotel was, in a word, disgusting. We like to check out 21c properties whenever we can. Most are objectively in need of some updating, especially given the hotel class and price point, but the Lexington 21c was by far the worst we’ve stayed in. First, I have Gold status with Accor, and at check-in there was no acknowledgment of our loyalty status or mention of any Gold benefits. There was no mention of an upgrade and no discernible upgrade, though we were placed on one of the higher floors. Our King room was run-down, but we didn’t realize how truly disgusting the bathroom was until we were about to shower. Photos included. The shower was mildewed and filthy. I genuinely cannot believe they sold a hotel room in such abysmal condition. We had somewhere to be within the hour, so we decided to stick it out for our one-night stay rather than go through the hassle of asking to be moved. The rest of the bathroom wasn’t much better: deteriorating/desilvering mirrors, visible dirt and crumbs on the bathroom shelving, and thin, worn towels—one of which had literal holes in it. We were also given only two bath towels total. The bed linens were paper-thin and extremely poor quality. The decrepit old minibar had apparently been repurposed for personal refrigeration, but it’s barely usable because the old minibar infrastructure is still inside. Furniture throughout the room was damaged, worn, and frankly embarrassing for a hotel at this price point. My Accor status includes late checkout, yet housekeeping was pounding on our door at 10:59 a.m. as we were gathering our things to leave for the standard 11 a.m. checkout. I said, “Give us five minutes,” and the housekeeper tapped her watch at me. The irony does not escape me. We went downstairs before leaving because we at least wanted to check out the galleries, only to be greeted by a “temporarily closed” sign. The cherry on top of an exceptionally disappointing stay.
Location. A bartender who stayed late to take care of us after we saw a lay.
Nice big corner room - which was very clean. Hotel very centrally located.
NA
The location was very nice, it was in the center of the downtown area and within walking distance of the restaurants. The atmosphere was very eclectic. I like the idea of taking an old historical building and making use of it as a hotel. There were a few disappointments concerning the room . My recommendation is to provide a mini frig instead of a beverage cooler so your customer are able to keep things cool. Need a microwave also for convenience. The unavailability of an ice machine on your floor was also I negative. The bedlinens left a little bit to be desired. The way the bed was made it felt like the mattress pad was the blanket so I almost unmade the bed. Also the put the blanket on top instead of a flat sheet. It was very cumbersome. Also I had a few issues with my lights. Not all of them worked. Room 1107 On a high note the bathroom was phenomenal. Air conditioner worked wonderfully. Overall my stay was enjoyable.
AC did not work in the middle of the night which led to sleep disruptions. The fitness center AC did not work either. Would not stay again
Location, room size and the Blue Penguins
Air conditioning
The art gallery.
No internet. No restaraunt. Really grumpy staff. Drainage in bathrooms miserable. No blankets in room. I could go on.
Rooms were well appointed upscale, great bathroom.
The restaurant was closed for renovations, zero common space, hot water failed, renovations blamed.
Art
A bit funky these days Could be a lot cleaner Staff not so great
Location
Fitness center- only one treadmill worked correctly and no mats for stretching
The museum is awesome!
Saturday night downtown was wild!!
Location and rooms modern
Nothing major shower leaked a little
This hotel is in a good location close to downtown attractions.
This hotel was not as advertised. We later learned it has been sold to the Marriott. The restaurant and bar were closed, changing the whole atmosphere we had previously enjoyed. The whole place was desolate and appeared to be undergoing renovations. No one advised us of the status of the changes being made prior to our arrival. The staff informed us we would be better off to stay elsewhere, which is what we did.
Perfect location downtown Lexington. Easy to walk to restaurant and bars.
The artwork on display was amazing. Gives the hotel A very upscale feel.
We spent one night in Lexington and picked the 21c Museum Hotel based on TripAdvisor reviews. It definitely has a quirky personality! To start the hotel and front entrance are a little hard to spot—I actually drove past it a couple of times and had to call to ask what I should be looking for. That said, the valet team was fantastic and gave us stellar service throughout our stay. We were given room keys that failed to work and had to change rooms to get one that had a lock and key that did work. The hallways looked weathered and could use an upgrade The room was also a bit unconventional in both layout and decor, but the bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent. They also added a couple of nice touches, including a complimentary Bourbon pour at the “Night at the Museum” and a discount on breakfast at the lovely Lockbox restaurant on the first floor, where we enjoyed a delightful meal. It was a perfectly good place to stay for one night. For a longer visit, though, we probably would have chosen something a little more traditional.
I love 21 c hotels. The art installations are beautiful and moving. The staff were welcoming and kind. The downtown location is great-it’s convenient and very walkable.
The location is great, however, the windows in the building are not proper city windows that deaden sound. There were a shocking number of motorcycles and loud cars through the night. I lived next to the BQE highway in NYC for years and never did it sound as loud as the vehicles passing through here. The room could have been cleaner as well. The phone had clearly not been cleaned in a long time, the nightstand was so dusty it made me feel like the rest of the room wasn’t as clean as it appeared.
Great room and friendly staff
The restaurant was closed for renovation
Ceiling and floor tiles were missing. Just looked not the cleanest because of that. There was no soap in the shower. The sink was also clogged. I feel like $300 was a lot to spend on what we got
Just a lot of money for what you got.
We had an one night stay for a concert at Rupp Arena. We were warmly welcomed by the valet and the front desk staff as well. Everyone on staff that we interacted with were kind and helpful. The room was well appointed and spotless. We enjoyed our stay and slept well and the location was adjacent to many restaurants and a short safe walk to Rupp. We will choose again on our next visit to Lexington.
Clean
Small room. Uncomfortable bed. Room was advertised as king but was tiny. No dresser for clothes
Property was exceptional. Loved the location.
The dining room divider was open, the mater di was at his station and I walked in and asked to be seated. Mater di says, "We're not open yet?? Now to be sure I was wearing jeans and a tee shirt, I was traveling on my motorcycle. Now if there is a dress code I could accept that but the reason that was offered seemed a bit unauthentic. Not to worry, I dined next door and had a marvelous meal. Sign me, disappointed!
Pros: Great location in downtown Lexington. Great, knowledgeable bar staff. Cons: The hotel is very tired and worn. The staff is lethargic with the housekeeping effort among the worst I have seen for an alleged 4-star hotel. No new tissues, bathroom drinking glasses, etc. The AC in our room didn't work upon arrival and required an engineer to fix it and even then, it was underpowered. Lastly, a very unpleasant sewer smell wafted about frequently in our room. Don't recommend you stay there until they redo all of the rooms.
The breakfast was delicious, on time, and delivered to the room by a courteous server.
My husband and I thought the museum was excellent and thought provoking. It's too bad one gallery was empty.
Easy check in, great perks like the bourbon pour, offered a complimentary upgrade and our room (1006) had a great view of the downtown skyline
Not a thing.
Very clean
We weren't made aware the exhibits would be closed for a private gala
Great location. In walking distance of Rupp Arena and many restaurants.
The bed wasn't very comfy and the bathroom could definitely have been cleaner.
Sheek and stylish
It had things to do at every turn and so close to everything downtown! They even brought up little things for us because I told them it was our first trip away from kids!
Parking is a bit steep but it is in the heart of downtown so understandable
The good: loved the whole museum and night at the museum bourbon pours. Lobby and art is so nice. The corner room was awesome and very clean. We slept great. Valet was so easy and fast. The bad: coffee in room is terrible. No coffee downstairs for guests (besides sitting down at the restaurant) is almost a deal breaker. Old mini bar was empty and would have been great to repurpose this space and have a fridge for our water and leftovers. No ice buckets or ice on floors. Very small TV compared to size of room. Besides all of this still gave 5 stars.
A lovely hotel in the heart of Downtown Lexington. It has a cute art gallery within the reception that you can go in for free. Rooms were spacious, clean, huge shower and beds! Would return if in town again.
Yep…I admit that I am a person that carries Clorox wipes and wipes down every hotel room we stay in before I open our suitcase. SURPRISE! No Clorox wipes needed at the 21C Hotel We walked into our room on the 8th floor and our room was nothing short of impeccable!! Crisp linens, 4 types of pillows to choose from, perfectly arranged amenities and not a speck of dust in sight, making it feel as though the space had been prepared exclusively for us. The housekeeping staff needs a shout out!! Our doggie bed had a pressed white linen sheet covering the foam bed. There was also a new set of dog dishes set next to the bed…what a beautiful touch. I need to mention the fantastic staff.that made it an elevated experience. Micaela N. and Anna M were genuinely warm, attentive and highly professional. (Micaela had anticipated our needs when I called to make our reservation the day before) Sean is a must see bartender at Lockdown! He’s a true mixologist and made perfect recommendations. Isabella W. checked us out this morning and was so helpful and kind. We can’t wait to visit Lexington again and look forward to another memorable experience
The heated floors on the bathroom.
This is honestly the first review I’ve ever written, and I believe this is worth letting people know. The service was not good. From the 45 minute wait to get into the room after 4:00 pm, the lack of requested items to be in the room, and lack of responsiveness to requests such as pre ordering the valet to be received 20 minutes in advance of leaving, left a lot to be desired. When I called to book the room, I wanted to confirm that the room came with a bathtub, which I was told it did, only to be given a room with a handicap standing shower. The bed and pillows were very hard and stiff. There was no blanks only cover sheets to sleep in. Needless to say, I would not stay at 21c.
Location was great. Right in the center of town.
Room was small but comfortable.
Super clean room. Fantastic breakfast and friendly staff.

The location was perfect.
We were attending a UK men’s basketball game and the location was very close to the arena which made it very convenient when walking to and from.
There was no designated parking lot, so either you have to park yourself and walk a ways, or pay for valet parking. The valet parking was great, but there were only two spots out front to park for valet, and they were always taken so we had to circle the block multiple times waiting for a spot to open up. This was not specified when booking, and would have been nice to know before hand so we could plan our arrival differently.
Location close to downtown
Location..parking was a hassle and expensive Cost was not worth it by time you pay for parking.

Very dirty
We've stayed at this hotel many times and have previously enjoyed it and the Lockbox restaurant. This stay was different. The hotel has become a little shabbier in general. The sink didn't drain properly, paint on the window frames was peeling, there were problems with the internet, and the elevators took a very, very long time to respond. The food from the restaurant was a disappointment, unlike in the past. Front desk personnel were not rude, but were not friendly or helpful. But what was most disappointing was that the hotel charged us for an extra night. After many email exchanges and telephone calls we were unable to get them to reimburse us. They continued to say they had not charged us while our credit card indicated charges for an extra night. We will not stay in this hotel again, nor in any of their other locations. Very disappointing, since it was once one of our favorite places to stay.
Convenient location, the hotel itself it well laid out and the art is great. The staff were very helpful, the room was big and airy!
The bed wasn’t the most comfortable. A bit creaky and the shower leaked all over the floor
The overall vibe of the hotel was awesome. The bar was great and the hotel staff were helpful.
The bathroom was honestly pretty bad - not clean. Hair in corners on the floor and dirty grout lines everywhere. The toilet never wanted to flush. I expected more for the >$500/night price point in Lexington KY. The room itself was a little dirty as well. The check in staff member was unable to provide any recommendations for us dining/drinks within reasonable walking distance. I will not recommend or stay here again.
Really nice remodel of an old bank building, large modern room, nice art gallery
Southern hospitality lives!
Beautiful place to stay and close to restaurants in the area.
Art & location are great. Housekeeping and service were uneven & internet was horrible. We expected more for the cost & the brand.
We had a corner room with great views. It eas large and comfortable. Loved the sofa for reading. We loved the art. We had three meals at the Lockbox.
Boutique hotel with lots of art. Right downtown. Our corner room is large with a comfy modern sofa. Comfortable bed and great shower.
It was an amazing property. We did have a little bit of a struggle, finding it as we never saw the name of the hotel and had to drive around a bit.
Great location. Very nice room and view with view of courthouse.
Parking. No refrigerator. Mini Bar was not cooling.
Beautiful hotel. So much better than the chains.
The hotel has a nice museum inside it with a great bar. The location was everything!
NA
Amazing staff and beautiful hotel
Pretty museum and restaurant.
Coffee pot didn't work, light on the side of the bed missing a bulb, TV had over the air channels, only had one robe for the bathroom and lack of towels. Free water was ok, the mini bar fridge was opened before we got there, had to make sure we weren't charged for it but the items went warm, carpet was heavily stained in areas and the AC kicks off after 10 minutes of laying down because it operates on a motion sensor thats too high above the bed to pickup people laying down. Oh and no parking.
Great fun
Very clean hotel, no valet on Sunday but parking was easy. Enjoyed the art and the boutique hotel.
Staff were great!
Beautiful room; exceptionally clean and very comfortable bed!
Food is good.
The bedding was super thin, provided no other blankets. We were on the 10th floor and it’s terribly loud outside, which I know it’s not hotels fault. Our tv was broken the whole time and I was told how to fix it myself and it never worked. Water was $8 for a bottle and it was hot. Won’t book again.
We had the pleasure of re-visiting 21c in Lexington a few weeks ago ~ July 22-25, 2025. Having been there 'pre-COVID', we were not sure if much had changed in the way of design and decor. The accommodations were AMAZING - Room 1402 was well appointed and had incredible city views! Shout outs to the remarkable service people - in particular SQ in the bar (ask him about his sideline art work!), JP in the Lock Box restaurant and Dejah (an aspiring opera performer) - also in the Lock Box. The site restaurant (Lock Box) had exceptional food at reasonable pricing and ample portions. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of the major Downtown sites - historic landmarks, great restaurants (Tony's is just down Main) and has also been the starting point of a Lexington Art Walking Tour throughout the area.
We have stayed at another 21C Museum Hotel and had a wonderful experience, but this one was just ok. Pros: Good service at check in and the gallery was excellent. Cons: room was freezing, heat kicked on if you tried to turn the air up from 68. When we pulled up so my husband could drop me off, I let the valet attendant know we would be self parking and he just rudely walked off. The bathroom had mildew and frayed towels. Beds and pillows were so uncomfortable. Not their fault, but downtown LEX is crazy loud at night. It didn’t quiet down until 3 am. We won’t make that mistake again.
T
Beautiful historic building. Big rooms, views. Fantastic shower and the robes are luxurious touch. Wonderful gallery. Extremely friendly staff.Stay here often.Live it!
Great place with wonderful history, staff and art.
Excellent location. Friendly staff
The food was delicious at dinner, our friends made a reservation at Lockbox, service was slow especially since there were only two other groups eating, (a couple and a family of 4). Liked the museum component. Hotel was in a central location.
No refrigerator nor ice for the room. Check in/ out lobby area felt more a part of the museum than the hotel. No real clear entrance.
Nice place!
Wonderful location and view, spacious room, and friendly staff!
Very old/dented microwave and fridge, carpet in the room had a lot of stains
Wonderful stay! Staff was nice and friendly!
Lovely hotel and beautiful art/cocktails/info provided However the air con was so cold even though set to 19.5 We couldn’t get it right And the cleaning wasn’t up to a scratch We loved the bar area and the bar man was so friendly An overall good stay
The hotel had a unique art collection, staff was friendly and helpful, restaurant convenient and great bar. Also very clean and room spacious.
